LGBTQ warning. I reached out to Brush Salon because I was looking for a new stylist closer to where I live. In my message, I specifically shared that I was looking for a queer/trans-friendly salon. I also explained that I have been a loyal client who has previously flown out of state to see my longtime stylist, but I was hoping to find someone local. I never received a response to my message, so I called. The person that answer confirmed the owner had received message and told me a person outside their salon would be a "better fit." I reached out to that person as well and received no response. Message received. The whole experience was disappointing and honestly painful. Looking for a new stylist as a queer/trans person already comes with a lot of anxiety around whether a space will actually be safe and welcoming. Sadly, this interactions let me know that my concerns were real. I can't speak to their intentions, but I can speak to the impact: I did not feel welcomed, wanted, or safe as a prospective LGBTQ client. I wish businesses could be more direct about who they aren't prepared to serve, because being quietly redirected elsewhere after explicitly asking for a queer/trans-friendly space feels awful. read more

I have been going to this salon for 4 years and started with a stylist that moved away. I was then recommended to Dallice for my hair care and she was the perfect person to do so. First, her demeanor is calm, warm, and very welcoming. She's such a pleasure to be around and speak to. I don't tend to care much about my hair but I did need a trim and wanted my grays covered and that's all I really said to her. When she was done, I was speechless. My hair is beautiful... I haven't said that about my own hair in a very long time. She made it look natural, with highlights that look like they should be there, and my hair looks so healthy. I highly recommend Dallice. I recently had the pleasure of visiting Day for the first time, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I wanted to go for a light blonde look, and I requested a hint of strawberry blonde in the gloss for some warmth. During my initial appointment, she did partial highlights, wet balayage, and a gloss with a touch of red. While my hair didn't turn out as light as I had hoped, Day was incredibly understanding and offered a complimentary redo without hesitation. She said the decision to add a bit of red probably darkened the gloss. I agreed to go for warmth without any reddish in it. For the redo, she added a beautiful money piece and did another wet balayage with a more neutral gloss. My hair grabbed on to the warmth. The results were stunning! My hair turned out exactly as I envisioned - light blonde with the perfect hint of warmth. I couldn't be more pleased with how it came out. Even though there was a correction involved, Day handled it professionally and made sure I left completely satisfied. Her dedication to her craft and her clients is truly commendable. Today was my first time going to Brush Salon and there was a lot about it that I loved. It was going to be a new stylist and a new look, so I was very nervous (as I always am at salons... and everywhere else). I don't know anything about hair either, but Dallice helped me figure out what exactly I wanted and explained everything along the way. I went away from it feeling like I understood more about to take care of my hair than I did before! Not every salon would be as accepting of a girl like me who wanted to look more androgynous, but Dallice wanted to be to feel completely safe and welcome, and that makes all the difference when you need to be honest about what you want your hair to look like! I do have several stylists that I have personally trained. If you like please send me a photo of your hair and I can pick the perfect stylist for you. Looking forward to seeing you soon. I was just passing through and wasting time before meeting with my brother and sister-in-law for lunch and stopped in for a look at their Jane iredale display. Both the young lady at the front counter as well as the hair designer that was next to the display were over the top helpful! They both went well out of their way to help me find the right colors to compliment my look. The stylist was working on a lady and both the client and she answered my questions about the service that was being done. All the ladies working in the salon were very nicely dressed and looked so professional. Definitely a place you would want to get your hair done. I called the salon and Anne Marie told me that my hairdresser was out but said that all their hair stylist could do the work that mine does. I got a cut and partial highlights by the person they recommended and as she was blow drying my hair I could tell that it was messed up, it was so patchy and the color looked nothing like what I had asked for. My hair dresser had to redo it, to try to correct the highlights and color. I learned that this girl had just gotten on the floor, with less than I year of experience. How can you say a newbie can do the same thing as someone with 20 years under their belt? My hair still looks like shit thanks to the work that was approved by Brush Salon. Being a blonde, I know finding a new stylist can be hit or miss. Let me tell you, Maddie did an AMAZING job on my hair. Not to mention my hair is pretty difficult, I have very fine hair and a lot of it, making the process very time consuming. I also had not dyed my hair in about 2 years, so I had lots of virgin hair with highlighted hair at the bottom to add to the challenge. Maddie was very patient and incredibly knowledgeable with what would work best with my hair. She and her assistant (I didn't get her name, she was great!) were also very kind and easy to talk to! I recently had tried a recommendation to a local salon and not sure where the communication went wrong but left with extremely dark hair and nothing like what I had felt I described so had called Maureen and sent some photos of the current situation of my har so she suggested I go with Jen. I showed her some photos and although she couldn't get me back to the color quite yet because it was so drastically darker she did an amazing job, I loved it. She took the time beforehand to make sure we were in the same page what I didn't like. It couldn't have been more perfect.
