I'm new to area and needed to get highlights before doing a family photo. A friend who went here told me about it but her stylist was booked up. I looked up Blondes, and read about Meredith. Rolled the dice and took a chance...She was amazing! She's just lovely and so easy to talk to, makes you feel right at home. Being a mother too she was very timely had made sure I left with plenty of time to get home and put my 1 year old down for his nap. Most importantly the partial highlights looked amazing, so happy with it. Pricing for SoCal was very reasonable as well. I loved the atmosphere of the salon, very clean. Wonderful service! They even got me a coffee! I loved the whole experience, felt super pampered. It was a bit of a drive from where I'm at in Ladera but the ocean views were nice and glad they had parking too. I will definitely be sticking to this salon and Meredith. read more

Are you looking for beautiful blonde highlights, and maybe even extensions? I have the gal for you. Amanda Buchan at District Salon in Dana Point is a perfectionist when it comes to picking the right shade and placement to make your highlights and, or, extensions look soooo natural. Amanda has been doing my highlights for a couple of years and now also my extensions. I have very fine, thin hair, so the extensions make a huge difference for me.....not so much in length, but volume. I'm so happy I found Amanda. She's the best hair stylist I've ever had, and also a very nice person. read more

Amanda Buchan at The District Salon has been doing my blonde highlights for over a year now and I have always been very pleased with the results. Just recently she added hair extensions to my very fine thin hair. I wasn't looking for added length, but volume. What an amazing result! I've had hair extensions before, but the method used (sew-in) was different and the hair felt very heavy, hard to sleep on and eventually pulled out some of my own hair. I believe the method Amanda used was a Fusion method. The extensions are much lighter, easy to sleep on and more natural looking. Amanda is a perfectionist and takes her time to be sure the placement (and color) of the hair extensions is just right. If you're considering hair extensions for volume, or length, Amanda is the stylist to pick.........you won't be disappointed. read more

I can't recommend The District Salon enough! Meredith is an absolute doll and a truly gifted colorist. She's worked patiently with me to achieve the perfect shade of blonde--one that blends seamlessly with my grey roots and never pulls brassy. If you're looking for someone who really understands color theory and listens to your goals, see Meredith! read more

Ok the girl was amazing with a good personality, very upbeat and not pushy at all ...however , after consultation she informs me she's leaving the salon because she's moving to another state ! Not professional ...I made appt online and she should have denied the appt because she said she has known for weeks she was moving out of state ! She gave me a girl or two to ask for my next color, but still such a bummer because she did a great job ... but I wish her well ! Overall , a very cool and friendly salon !! Will try it again with somebody else and hope they aren't leaving !!! read more

I travel full time so need to find stylists in new areas all the time. I use Yelp to help find stylists that specialize in blonde hair. I found Tiffany, set up an appointment with her over text, and went in for my first appointment not knowing what exactly would happen. WOW! Tiffany was even better than I'd hoped She's REALLY talented! She did a root and highlight so well that I squeezed in a second right before I left and added a cut. She's so good! Bonus: she has a great vibe, is super fun, and has great communication skills. Did I mention the delicious head massage during shampoo?! So relaxing. I can't wait to visit Dana Point again just so I can get my hair done by Tiffany. Thank you so much, Tiffany! read more

I've been coming to this salon for a few years now and I'm always BLOWN AWAY by the amazing work Tiffany does. I'm a brunette and go in for balayage/highlights and she is 100% the stylist to go to if you want golden/blonde locks! She's really fun to chat with, too and I always have a great time. Tiffany is definitely dedicated to her craft and making sure her clients leave with a smile on their face. The salon itself is nice and the staff offers a beverage when you arrive. Amanda Buchan, Amanda Buchan, Ananda Buchan! I've been trusting her with my hair for 8 years and am still grateful to have found her. She's now at the district salon and I don't mind making the drive to Dana Point from Orange. She is always so accommodating and works towards getting that hair on point. Truly a master at her craft. I've done anything from wild colors, hair cuts, balayages, baby lights & more -- Amanda communicates thoroughly to make sure you're both on the same page and gives guidance if needed. Amanda recently helped me with getting the right hair color for my wedding and the person who styled my hair kept complimenting her work! That's my girrrrrl. On another note -- District Salon is great! Welcoming staff, clean and easy to find. :) Give Amanda B. and the District Salon a try to see if it's a right fit for you!! read more

The District Salon is amazing. Professional, warm, and filled with great people. I especially wanted to post a review to thank Melissa Roh for a fantastic haircut. It has been almost 10 weeks (Feb. 6, 2020) since my last haircut and while it is definitely long, the cut was so great(as always) that it still looks fantastic. When we can all get back to "normal" I highly recommend Melissa Roh for the best cut! read more

I finally decided to treat myself to a cut and color after years of having my friends cut my hair (yikes!) and I booked an appointment with Meredith. The District Salon's modern rustic vibe is warm and comfortable. I'm new to Dana Point and needed to find a new hair stylist. This was a scary proposition since I've had the same hair stylist for 9 years. I was drawn to Meridith's online profile, as she has the experience with blondes that I was looking for. I wish I had moved here and met her sooner! Meridith listened to what I was looking for and gave me results that are better than I had experienced before! She lightened and brightened up my roots to match the the summer blonde highlights I had achieved with the help of Mother Nature this summer. I got volume and feel like I look 10 years younger! Her sweet and upbeat personality shines as bright as my blonde! I am so excited I found a fantastic hair stylist in my new home town. read more

I booked an appointment via the salon website, and not even 20 minutes later I received a phone call regarding my appointment, as I had not selected a stylist. The person I spoke with was super friendly and explained that she was going to pair me with Nancy Rawlins, since she specializes in cutting thick wavy hair, which I have. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted and asked if I wanted a beverage, coffee, tea, water, wine, etc., which I thought was awesome! The salon was super clean and the decor is really cute and trendy. Meeting Nancy, I knew we would hit it off... and we did! Not only is she a great conversationalist, she is an expert stylist! I asked for my hair to be lightened, and showed her a picture of what I wanted, and she nailed it, exactly what I showed her! I have been to countless stylists over the years, and no one seems to know how to cut my extremely thick, wavy hair, but Nancy does! The cut and the color came out exactly how I wanted it, and I truly could not be happier with the results! I am so happy I finally found a stylist and a salon that I love! read more
