Oh. My. Goodness Gorgeous Gracious!! Yesterday was my second time at Salon Serenity and it was incredible. As you walk in, you are greeted warmly by all the fabulous women working. You can tell the team here has great chemistry with each other and genuinely support each-others' craft, love it! Andy is a generational talent, I have come to her twice now with insanely outgrown, uneven, unloved hair (your girl is busy and things fall by the wayside!) and both times she has whipped me into shape. She works quickly, efficiently, and with a smile that puts you at ease. Great conversationalist, totally apt with hair cuts even if you bring her something new (my first time I wanted a k-drama style hush cut), takes special care to ensure she does the least damage possible to my hair, the list goes on. As we neared the end of our appointment yesterday, the owner of the salon (I think) came by her station and we talked about how my hair turned out, she even asked to see what it looked like before! I've never been in a salon where everyone takes a positive and personal interest in each other, but it really made me feel great. 10/10 salon. If you get the chance to visit and become a regular, I highly recommend. read more

Tons of people visit Dana Point to enjoy the peacefulness of the harbors, but I come for a different kind of serenity, Salon Serenity. It's a little difficult to find if you've never been here, but it's close by to Harbor House Cafe and Killer Dana Surf Shop. Parking is always a breeze in their lot. The salon isn't anything fancy, but it's comfortable and clean. The salon itself is not what I come for anyway, it's the amazing service from Kat. Kat knows how to handle hair and what will work for your hair type. She's so sweet and easy to talk to that the time always flys by during my appointments. You can tell she knows what she's doing because I usually get a balayage and trim, and she'll have me in and out in around 2 hours. I used to flip flop around to different stylists all the time, but from now on I will continue to come back to Kat. read more

I wanted to commend them and recommend Andrea and Ariel because not only are they amazing hairstylists and hair artists, but they are genuine and so kind and there to make you feel like your very best, beautiful self!!!!!!!! read more

Kat has done it again, amazing stylist. Kat is an artist when it comes to hair. After a few years of blonde brassy stringy hair, Kat has turned my hair into a beautiful full deep to light red. Not only am I in love with my color, my hair feels so much more healthier. The cut she's done has made my hair bounce and feel and look full. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you Kat read more

Salon Serenity - Hair Extensions Near Me - Dana Point, California

Booked an appointment with Tracey, I found her through an online women's group. The photo I texted her was of highlighted ends, a low balayage on curly hair. My first appointment did not look like what I wanted & my hair was really brassy. Or as she referred to it "blorange". She was fascinated by my curly hair & asked if I would be a model for an upcoming photo shoot, I was interested & accepted her offer. She spoke about wanting to go lighter & eventually to a rose gold. I was excited to see the outcome, as she sounded confident that she could get me there without compromising my curls. A week passed & I went & saw her for my second round of lightening. She again, was confident but I was nervous. Throughout my appointment she seemed a little on edge, which made me nervous, she put my hair in foils & under a heat lamp. When we got to the bowl to rinse I asked her how my curls were looking, she said "it's hard to tell because it's soaking wet." That made me nervous cause my hair is obviously curly even when soaking wet. When she walked away to prep my toner, I snuck a picture of my hair & was shocked at how bad my hair looked! She finished toning & walked me back to her chair, that's when a man walked in and greeted her, then continued to tell me "you'll be alright, you're in OK hands hahaha". What a jerk. Anyway, I left her salon with my hair still wet. When I got home my hair was mostly dry & looked like a cotton fuzzball! It was 4-5 shades of yellow orange and blonde. My curls were no longer coiling but frizzy & dry! If you have curly hair, I do not recommend going here. Her failure to admit a lack of education in dealing with curly hair resulted in me getting my beautiful curls FRIED by a licensed cosmetologist! Go somewhere where the stylists are responsible & knowledgeable. This was extremely unprofessional & careless of her. I am heartbroken over the whole situation. As a newly licensed stylist myself, my hair is a huge part of my image. This happening to me is absolutely heartbreaking, I wish she would have just been honest & told me she wasn't experienced in my hair texture. That would have saved my hair from this tragedy. read more

Without Pamela I'd be a 5 instead of a 10. She gives me gorgeous hair and keeps me laughing. Who knew hair appointments could be this fun???

I am new to the area and I was very nervous about going to a new person to do my hair. I have long hair and I usually get highlights and low lights as well as a base color so it's fairly involved. Genie is a Genie-us! I absolutely love my hair. The base color was perfect, the highlights were super natural looking and I even love the way she trimmed my bangs. She's also very nice and all of the rest of the staff at the salon are super friendly and laid-back. I am super picky about my hair but I would recommend Genie to anybody at any time. Thank you! read more

I won't come anywhere else! Everyone does an a outstanding job. Katie even does hair for the Grammy Awards. THAT'S how good they are! They're super fun, personable, and we all seem to watch the same TV shows. They always have snacks and coffee (what's better than snacks and coffee?) They're located just off PCH with a parking lot (they share it with a few other places but there's always parking). It's just a few steps away from the salon. I always enjoy my time here, it's almost like hanging out with old friends! They always have the best smelling hair products as well (it matters). I highly suggest Katie B, she's been doing my hair for a few months and I've always left glowing and extra - fabulous! On occasion they have Groupons, so be sure to check those out at as well. read more

Hi everyone! I went to Salon Serenity for the first time today after buying a Groupon for balayage a while back. Genie was the lovely lady who took care of my hair today, and she did an absolutely awesome job! She was also super friendly and sweet, yet professional. I think I've only ever written one other yelp review and it was in order to get a service done quicker, so this is my first real time writing a review. Genie did such a beautiful job, I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror. So glad I saved her number and I can't wait to go back for future hair jobs! read more

If there were more than 5 stars I would give 10! I have been seeing Maureen here for 2 years and I trust no one else with my hair! She's taken me from a dark brunette, to hombre, to a killer blonde! Not to mention beautiful extensions! The rest of the staff are always sweet and friendly during my visit. I moved about an hour and a half away and I still drive to see Maureen - that should show how great Salon Serenity is! read more

This review is for Tracey. She is wonderful and it's so nice to have a hairdresser that really understands how to work with "difficult" hair. Tracey can do anything I've requested as well (and better than) those "expensive" Beverly Hills salons. I'll be going to Tracey for years to come! Thank you!! read more

Salon Serenity is just like it sounds, beachy, ,trendy, and friendly. Chris the surf stylist made a well thought out move from the Englsh rose, in Dana Point. I started going to this salon as Ariel was highly recommended by my former hairdresser who moved out of Orange County. My former hairdresser knows me well enough and would not recommend just anyone. What a great transition! Ariel is very good at what she does, very efficient, very friendly and warm, highly reliable, and very reasonable considering the quality of her work. I highly recommend Ariel. The salon itself is quiant, has friendly staff, and offers accessible parking. They decorate the salon with holiday themes. Very welcoming! read more

Used a groupon deal today with Katie. Has a great experience. All of the stylists have

Don't believe pricing. Beware. I bought a groupon. Pricing changed from$60 to $200+ even though she confirms price over phone. It's a scam to get you there. I've used Groupons so many times. This is the first one hat didn't honor. Soooo many better and friendlier salons to choose from. Gina was belittling - I so dislike that. Offer a discount or don't offer on Groupon. This was a come on scam. Sooooo many nicer people and salons. Don't be fooled. read more

I called and left FIVE messages until I finally got a hold of someone to make an appointment. Of course, they were all booked by then. So, I have no idea how good they are. I went somewhere that answers the phone instead. read more

Ariel is fantastic, great prices and the salon is a cute and quaint. All the stylist are super duper friendly I would highly recommend

When I arrived, Kat flatly stated that we didn't have an appointment. I showed her the text exchange confirming our time. She said she must have confused me with someone else, but she clearly had not made a note of the appointment. She didn't even know my name. Gwen? Morgan? Then, after waiting for her to finish with someone else, she looks at my hair, and announces that there will be a $25 upcharge, due to the fact that my hair is 2 inches below my shoulder. Not happy - but okay. Then she states that "Groupon does not pay me." (What!!??) After pressing her, she says "well, they pay me 15 days later." Okay...hmmm. Then, she asks me if I actually expect to pay $75 for a cut and color, with all her years of experience. (Wait a minute - did I create the Groupon?) She states that Groupon makes up the deal and the price. Now I am really confused. She asks me "do you know how long it will take me to blow-dry your hair?" I said, "okay, you don't have to do that - let's eliminate the 20 minutes of styling." Would that be a fair exchange for her not charging me the upcharge? Absolutely not. She accused me of talking about money, and said I wasn't being "chill." Everything this person said was untrue, and unfounded. She just kept adding to the list of false things she was stating. She essentially was saying that she was not in agreement with the Groupon, but does it because she likes to "meet people." She accused me of being unrealistic about the price. Her parting shot was that I called the salon, instead of her. I HAD called her, but her mailbox was full, so I could not leave a message with her. (Did I do the wrong thing there?) Very strange experience. It was like dealing with a 10 year old who was backed into a corner, and was trying to think of anything they could to justify their behavior. read more

I have been going to Arielle for over 2 years now and she is THE best! My mom and two sisters also go to her. This salon is very cute and clean. Everyone is super friendly, always offering drinks or snacks. Definitely always look forward to getting my hair done here. Arielle is amazing! read more

I bought a Groupon for a trim and blow out. I have really long hair and have always been really funny about who trims my hair so I should've known not to do it with someone new for the first time with a Groupon. Im not going to use her name. The lady I went to was very nice and pleasant, but after I washed and blow dried my hair two days later I realized my hair was completely uneven trimmed and looked very jagged. All she did was a slight trim and even my husband could notice the difference, it did not look right!! I called to speak with the manager or owner as I did not want to go back to the same girl who did my hair originally, hoping that someone else would be able to fix it. I left two messages for the owner or manager to call me back. Well that did not happen, the lady that cut my hair called me back and I find this very unprofessional and awkward. I will not be returning to get my hair fixed there, I will continue to go to my professional salon and regret ever buying this Groupon!!! read more

I highly recommend Sandy at Salon Serenity. I have been a client for several years. Sandy is so great with color that I feel comfortable stating that the results are simply magical. I am not a person who takes time to figure out what I want my hair to do or look like -- rather, I rely on Sandy's judgment on both color and style. I am pretty lazy about styling my own hair between appointments, so Sandy always gives me a cut that is easy to work with and provides tips on how to best maintain it. Through the years with Sandy I have had long hair and shoulder length hair -- curly and straight hair -- and a variety of coloring schemes. Sandy is also great at keratin and Brazilian blow outs. The atmosphere in the salon is pleasant and welcoming. Sandy is extremely personable, great to visit with and her prices are very reasonable. read more
