I would give Brie a million stars if I could!!! Wedding day makeup: Wow! I felt more beautiful than I've ever felt in my entire life. She is a genius when it comes to makeup. She understands face shape, eye shape, nose shape, lip shape- she understand it all and knows how to make everything look the absolute best that it possibly can. My eyes are a hazel-ish color and she made them POP with the eyeliner and eye shadows she used. She used the airbrush makeup on me and my skin looked flawless all night! I didn't even need any touch ups! :) Hair: Brie did an amazing job on my hair. I showed her some photos of what I wanted and she nailed it!! I got some clip-in extensions for the day of the wedding and she knew exactly where to place them so that they went unnoticed. Customer service: Brie is such a cool and laid back person. She always made me feel like I was the most important person to her. :) when I went to her house for my makeup trial she offered me tea & beverages while I was there. My wedding was two years ago, on Nov. 15th, 2015. I had found Brie online, but hit it off with her immediately as we found out we had both attended the same art college and had mutual friends and acquaintances there. I loved how she took her artistic training with her in her work as a makeup artist! The day of my wedding, Brie had just gotten back from HER OWN wedding in Hawaii the night before. But there she was, bright and early Friday morning at like 7am, to get started on my hair and makeup, as well as my mom's hair and makeup, and one of the bridemaid's makeup. She listened to everything I asked of her, and I've never felt more beautiful. I've always been so so thankful for her to be there right after getting back from her own wedding. I have to say that although Brie does excellent makeup, her customer service and business management skills are severely lacking. I first contacted her in July asking if she was available for my wedding date in June, which she quickly responded "yes" to (especially since it was so far in advance). We went back and forth in emails for the next few weeks finalizing the number of services I needed and location, with me saying I would like to make my deposit to reserve her for the date. A couple weeks passed by in August, with her saying she was out of town and would get back to me shortly- totally understandable. I touched base again (now in September) when I didn't hear from her, again asking about the deposit/formalities/etc. Brie then messaged me to say that she has to cancel on me, because she got a better offer for that same date with a higher number of services. *Mind you, I needed 3 services, plus paying her travel fee* If way back in July she had told me that she had a minimum number of services needed (not listed anywhere on her website), then I either could have worked with that and upped my services OR not wasted 2 months of my time and just booked someone else. She offered in our last email to send me referrals for other makeup artists she knew, which I replied back saying that: although I was very disappointed, Yes, I needed that. It's now been nearly 2 weeks and I haven't heard back. That's just a terrible way to conduct your business... **Correction: 9 days, not nearly 2 weeks. read more

I booked Brie to do hair and make-up for my wedding this past May. I feel like my review for Brie needs to be two fold, and I will review her based on two aspects. The first aspect is talent and results. For this, I give Brie a solid 5 stars. I selected Brie based on pictures on Yelp and her website. Most other make-up artists feature (in my opinion) pretty gaudy styles and just use way too much make up in general. I wanted something subtle and natural looking, but still beautiful. At the trial, I brought some pictures of the hair and make-up styles I was looking for, and she worked with me to get the styles just right in preparation for the big day. Brie definitely understood and was able to successfully implement the look I was going for. On the day of the wedding, she traveled to the house my family and I were staying at to do make up for myself and my party. The results of Brie's work were awesome. She does a wonderful job; my hair and make-up were beautiful and turned out just how I wanted. Brie is definitely very talented at what she does, and you will not regret the results if you decide to go with her. The second aspect is customer service and attitude. For this, I must give a lesser amount of stars, hence the four star review; if I were reviewing on this aspect alone I would probably go with 3. Brie is generally friendly enough, but her customer service skills can be lacking and I do not get the feeling that she enjoys her work. To give a couple examples, when we showed up on time for the trial at her house, we weren't sure which house was hers, so we tried calling and texting and got no answer. We waited outside for awhile until Brie checked her phone and finally came out to meet us. Second, when I had questions about how early she wanted to start doing make-up on the day of, her responses, to me, seemed overly harsh. I simply asked for clarification and explanation on need for the early start time, and received what seemed to me a defensive answer that made me feel like I was pretty unreasonable for even asking. I'm generally a "go-with-the-flow" kind of customer and I know I'm not a difficult person to work with, so I don't think I'm being unreasonable when I have a few questions on your process (that isn't cheap). If you can tell me why, you are the professional, and I will go with your process; I just want a little information! Lastly... on the day of, while she was doing my make-up, my photographer was there taking getting ready photos. She seemed annoyed at this and even told him to back off and stop taking pictures and to do them later, because "she knows what brides want". I was kind of taken aback by this. She never asked me about it and just made an assumption that she knew what I wanted in that regard. I would have rather had the photographer take his pictures, however he saw fit. In summary, overall, while I docked a star for customer service, I would still recommend Brie for wedding make-up and hair. Although I was not overly impressed with her attitude in some instances, in the end, the results are what matters the most, and you will not be disappointed with Brie's finished work. read more

Brie of Beach Fox is hands down my favorite hair/makeup artist. She's done my makeup and hair for many shoots and events. My favorite part about her is that the makeup looks so good on camera AND in person, so she's great both for shoots and events. I'm super particular about my makeup and hair, so it takes a lot for me to recommend someone. I refer Brie over and over again in hopes we keep getting to work together ;). Also- crazy bonus that her products are organic. I can't believe the chemicals I've found are in regular products, and love that Brie has taken the time and expense to find good products that work so well, last a long time, and are still organic. Went to her website, emailed my information and what I was needing (hair and makeup done for two for a wedding). Heard back the next day from Brie saying if this wasn't for a wedding (I think she meant people in a wedding) that we would need to be flexible on time because it is likely she would get booked for a wedding, but at the moment she didn't have a deposit from anyone for the day i requested. I responded the same day asking what time she was thinking. I didn't hear back from her so I followed up 4 days later and asked if she received my email... Here we are a week after my follow up and i still haven't heard back. The impression I got was if it's not for a wedding, it's not worth her time... which is fine.
