I came to Simpatico Salon to get my extensions put in by Heather (see my review for Lots of Locks (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lots-of-locks-hair-extensions-laguna-beach) and after my extensions were put in, they had to be cut so it could be incorporated into my real hair to give it a natural look. Claudio was the guy who did my hair and let me just say, this gorgeous Argentinian style-master is one to be reckoned with! You can tell he loves his craft! He started in the business when he was 15 following in his mama's footsteps, and having lived in south America and Europe 'doing hair', he came to America and fell in love with California! My hair was layered to give it a natural look and let me just say, I absolutely LOVE it! I also watched Claudio give this lady in the chair next to me her color and cut and wow, she looked like a movie star when it was done! If I wasn't sick of my short hair, I would totally go for a style like that. So anyway, the salon itself has a vintage feel about it, done up in green and brown hues. There is a salon on the ground level and also, on the 2nd floor. There are many stylists at Simpatico and everyone has their own rates, so I can't really tell you what your cut or color will cost you, but I took a photo of their price range and posted the photo so you can check it out yourself. I'd say the prices are comparable to other salons in Orange County and Simpatico offers validation in the parking garage of the building they are in (you can enter via Oak Street) -- and is valid for an hour and a half -- but they can get you more if you happen to be there longer, like I was! This chic little salon deserves to be noticed! The owner Matt is a super nice guy and they are in a prime location along the Coast Hwy! If I lived in Laguna Beach, this would be the place to go to! 5 Taylor has a lot of knowledge about different hair types and textures. She knew exactly how to cut and layer my hair to fall just right. I have very thick hair that is curly underneath and straight on top. The salon layout and location could not be any more perfect. It has big windows that are great for people watching but they also let in a lot of natural light. There is plenty of parking below that they validate. I 100% will be making this my go-to place. Taylor has worked her magic again!! After trying to save some $ and use a groupon for my 15yr old to get highlights I had to send an SOS to Taylor to fix the nightmare that was my girl's hair. My daughter was in tears as she had striped, grey and orange hair. It was AWFUL!!! Taylor got us right in and within a couple of hours my beautiful girl was transformed back to her gorgeous locks! Taylor is a truly talented hair stylist and colorist. I've been her client at Simpatico Salon for 4 years now, and I'm always so happy with my hair color, cut, and style. I always go to her for styling for special events and for regular color and cut upkeep. She is super sweet and we have great conversations. She will always suggest a great style. I wanted to correct the box-colored bright orange/copper color I did at home. I wanted all the red out, and my natural burnette color back with beach highlights. NATURAL was key. So I figured, if I want a beach look done right, go to Laguna Beach! I found this salon on yelp, I liked the photos and reviews, I called to explain what I needed, the owner set me up with Bailey to have the Balayage done. Bailey took all traces of red out, cooled it down with a natural beautiful dark brown, then did the Balayage with hand painted golden highlights. I also had my layers trimmed. Bailey did an amazing job! Not anyone can do this technique, it takes an artists eye and a love for what you do. This was the first time I learned about the Balayage technique. Not the traditional foil highlights that grow out in a sharp line, these are painted on and grow out more naturally, your roots will end up complementing the look even more. Bailey is very genuine, down to earth, and knows hair, beauty, and style. She had me walking out of there feeling beautiful and new, and I'm a very critical and picky person. Taylor Bailey!!! She is my amazing sister! I have the opportunity to get my hair done with her usually just twice a year, but I always love my Balayage highlights and haircuts. I have a chestnut brown natural color with Carmel highlights. This time she painted in lowlights of my natural color and made the blonde pieces more golden and lighter. I love my hair! Taylor B! Best colorist I've ever been to. Repeatedly (perfectly) matched balayage low lights to my natural hair color to gracefully transition me from platinum back to my natural color. I just got a 1920's inspired angled bob/long pixie - Daisy Buchanan style - and it's excellent. Great technical bobs can be hard to come by, requiring lots of patience and skill. Taylor takes the time to do everything the right way and will patiently tweak it for you till the end. Taylor has tons of curated reference onhand which is very helpful, especially if you go in with a vague idea of what you want - she will put a fine point on it before she begins.
