Beautiful results with Taylor. I've seen her twice this year for a partial color low/highlights and both times I've been impressed. She is talented! My hair color is naturally rich brown and she used a technique that softens the tone at the roots so that the growth is less harsh while embracing more of my natural color. read more

I came to Simpatico Salon to get my extensions put in by Heather (see my review for Lots of Locks (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lots-of-locks-hair-extensions-laguna-beach) and after my extensions were put in, they had to be cut so it could be incorporated into my real hair to give it a natural look. Claudio was the guy who did my hair and let me just say, this gorgeous Argentinian style-master is one to be reckoned with! You can tell he loves his craft! He started in the business when he was 15 following in his mama's footsteps, and having lived in south America and Europe 'doing hair', he came to America and fell in love with California! My hair was layered to give it a natural look and let me just say, I absolutely LOVE it! I also watched Claudio give this lady in the chair next to me her color and cut and wow, she looked like a movie star when it was done! If I wasn't sick of my short hair, I would totally go for a style like that. So anyway, the salon itself has a vintage feel about it, done up in green and brown hues. There is a salon on the ground level and also, on the 2nd floor. There are many stylists at Simpatico and everyone has their own rates, so I can't really tell you what your cut or color will cost you, but I took a photo of their price range and posted the photo so you can check it out yourself. I'd say the prices are comparable to other salons in Orange County and Simpatico offers validation in the parking garage of the building they are in (you can enter via Oak Street) -- and is valid for an hour and a half -- but they can get you more if you happen to be there longer, like I was! This chic little salon deserves to be noticed! The owner Matt is a super nice guy and they are in a prime location along the Coast Hwy! If I lived in Laguna Beach, this would be the place to go to! Definitely very very nice! 4.5 stars! read more

5 Taylor has a lot of knowledge about different hair types and textures. She knew exactly how to cut and layer my hair to fall just right. I have very thick hair that is curly underneath and straight on top. The salon layout and location could not be any more perfect. It has big windows that are great for people watching but they also let in a lot of natural light. There is plenty of parking below that they validate. I 100% will be making this my go-to place. Thank you, Taylor and Matt for revamping my hair! read more

Taylor is a color expert and so so talented !! I had been going to the same stylist for many years , when she retired I was left to find a new place , and my only regret is not coming sooner. Taylor has worked her magic again!! After trying to save some $ and use a groupon for my 15yr old to get highlights I had to send an SOS to Taylor to fix the nightmare that was my girl's hair. My daughter was in tears as she had striped, grey and orange hair. It was AWFUL!!! Taylor got us right in and within a couple of hours my beautiful girl was transformed back to her gorgeous locks! I learned a valuable lesson.....you absolutely get what you pay for and with Taylor you get the best!! I religiously see Taylor myself every 5-6weeks and forgot that what she does so effortlessly is actually quite difficult. I will never skimp on my girl's hair again. I feel so grateful to call this sweet girl a friend and my hair stylist!! read more

I decided to do a big transformation and cut off my long hair. I didn't want just anyone to do the haircut and went to Simpatico Salon because everyone in Laguna talks about what a great job they do. First off, it is just my speed because it's small and clean and gorgeous location. They listen to you and I've never been happier with a new style. Definitely try it out, plus the conversation was incredible! 5 Stars from me! read more

Taylor is a truly talented hair stylist and colorist. I've been her client at Simpatico Salon for 4 years now, and I'm always so happy with my hair color, cut, and style. I always go to her for styling for special events and for regular color and cut upkeep. She is super sweet and we have great conversations. She will always suggest a great style. It's easy to park in the structure for 2 hours complimentary or use the metered parking on the street. The salon decor is super cute and I'm always offered water. Right outside the salon is a beautiful modern background perfect for photos. Taylor is the best and I will continue to be her client. read more

What a gem this salon is! There is such a warm vibe and my experience with the staff is that they really care about hair and the individual. Matt gives great cuts and bailey has really helped me repair damage done at another salon! The location is so cool, right on PCH in Laguna Beach next to Heidelberg, fun for people watching in the summer:) The salon itself is inviting and unpretentious yet stylish and clean. I wanted to correct the box-colored bright orange/copper color I did at home. I wanted all the red out, and my natural burnette color back with beach highlights. NATURAL was key. So I figured, if I want a beach look done right, go to Laguna Beach! I found this salon on yelp, I liked the photos and reviews, I called to explain what I needed, the owner set me up with Bailey to have the Balayage done. Bailey took all traces of red out, cooled it down with a natural beautiful dark brown, then did the Balayage with hand painted golden highlights. I also had my layers trimmed. Bailey did an amazing job! Not anyone can do this technique, it takes an artists eye and a love for what you do. This was the first time I learned about the Balayage technique. Not the traditional foil highlights that grow out in a sharp line, these are painted on and grow out more naturally, your roots will end up complementing the look even more. Bailey is very genuine, down to earth, and knows hair, beauty, and style. She had me walking out of there feeling beautiful and new, and I'm a very critical and picky person. YES, I highly recommend Simpatico and putting your trust in Bailey. read more

Taylor was wonderful and my whole experience was really relaxing, not to mention my hair color looks fantastic!

My highlights are amazing! I get touch ups a few times a year and love it every time.

I never have trusted putting my hair in someone's hands. I have such fine hair that with any color it burns off. Taylor did an AMAZING JOB and was so patient and listened to exactly what I wanted. I lost absolutely no length, her color skills are some of the best work I've ever seen. Her work is truly a piece of art. Taylor can make such a beautiful natural color and keep you from loosing length. Her work is absolutely priceless and I will never go anywhere else. 12/10. Taylor Bailey!!! She is my amazing sister! I have the opportunity to get my hair done with her usually just twice a year, but I always love my Balayage highlights and haircuts. I have a chestnut brown natural color with Carmel highlights. This time she painted in lowlights of my natural color and made the blonde pieces more golden and lighter. I love my hair! It has great contrast and feels really healthy. I have been using the Rene Furterer line for a few years since Taylor introduced us to it. I must say it is a high quality product. I truly love every product that I have tried thus far from Rene. Matthew, the owner is really caring and charismatic. I highly recommend simpatico salon. Matthew and crew are fantastic!! During a trip to CA, we stopped in to see if they could accommodate a last minute cut and style for my mother. They were kind and welcoming, and we were able to make an appointment that day. The results were AMAZING. My mother looked 15 years younger with her cute new hairdo--Matthew is truly talented. And extremely nice as well. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, especially for my mom! read more

Matt is the BEST! I found him for my husband who has curly hair. Not everyone knows how to cut and style a mans hair without making them look like a clown. Matt himself has curly hair and understands the texture, definition, and necessary care required to maintain a cool look; not bushy or mullet like. His salon is always clean and chill. Simpatico in Laguna Beach is the hot spot to get your hair did. ;) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Matt and Taylor at simpatico salon. Not only are they excellent at their craft, they are the most down to earth and friendliest people you will ever meet. Initially I was just looking for a new salon/hairstylist to give me a major change and go back to my old regular stylist. But after going there once for a cut and a second time for balayage highlights, they will forever be my go-to salon. Before doing anything, they explained everything they were planning to do, gave me tips on how to take care and style my hair afterwards. I'm normally someone who has major trust issues with new people with my hair but let them do what they do best and they will wow you. I absolutely love my new cut and color. So much that I think I'll maintain this new hairstyle for a while. I am so thankful I found them on yelp. They are two very amazing people and they will not disappoint you. It's not about money for them. They genuinely care about making each and every person feel happy and confident with themselves. Everytime I've seen someone in that salon, they walk out smiling with their expectations exceeded. You will be one of them! read more

Taylor B! Best colorist I've ever been to. Repeatedly (perfectly) matched balayage low lights to my natural hair color to gracefully transition me from platinum back to my natural color. I just got a 1920's inspired angled bob/long pixie - Daisy Buchanan style - and it's excellent. Great technical bobs can be hard to come by, requiring lots of patience and skill. Taylor takes the time to do everything the right way and will patiently tweak it for you till the end. Taylor has tons of curated reference onhand which is very helpful, especially if you go in with a vague idea of what you want - she will put a fine point on it before she begins. She has great taste and closely collaborates to achieve the exact desired effect. read more

I'm another long-time client of Matt and Taylor, and a massive fan. So much so that when I was living in the Bay Area I would fly down to the OC for appointments with them! Honestly, the few times I wasn't able to go to Simpatico and had my hair done elsewhere, it was a big setback to the great work Taylor and Matt do every time. They're delightful, kind and exceptionally talented people. Taylor is dedicated to her craft and does expert color, and Matt's cuts are the absolute best. read more

Out of Towner that took a gamble. I don't have time at home to get hair done and took a risk. I totally lucked out. Matt was excellent as was his colorist. They totally transformed me. I couldn't be happier. I walked in and pretty much shut up and just let him do what he wanted. My first time to ever do that. That's what vacation thinking will do for you. But I'm glad I did. Try this place out. They worked me in on a Saturday. I was happy they accommodated me. I was their last client. Thanks so much you guys!! I can't remember the colorists name but she was FABULOUS. She made me a warmer blond and did a coIor treatment I can't spell. I write this a day later. You can always tell a good cut the second day. After his blow out magic has been slept on. Got up. Hair looked great with no effort. Couldn't be happier. read more

Taylor listened attentively as I explained the kind of hairstyle I wanted. She provided great advice on how to get my hair-do to last all afternoon and through the night.
