This is a hidden gem in my hometown. After driving to Mission Viejo to get my hair cut for a year and not really liking my cut, I started to ask around. My friend B always has great hair (although her hair is naturally great, so I was like, who could really make that hair look bad...). So I asked her where she went and decided to take a chance. Boy was I glad I did! Sarah is a great sylist! I started out going with long hair, which she cleaned up nicely and gave me some great layers. Then after a few cuts, I was ready to do my yearly chop off. I hadn't seen any of her short cuts, but was thrilled at the end result. She gave me a great wedged bob - styled it amazingly and it's growing out really well - The true sign of a skilled cut. I recommend that you go to Sarah - or anyone at DC really. I've seen great cuts/styles and colors coming down those stairs! And if you go, tell her Heidi sent you!! read more

Great salon, location rocks and its the kind of place that as soon as you walk in you can immediately relax! I have seen Danielle and have been very happy with my color and cuts. They have a great referral program and a friendly atmosphere and clientelle. I highly reccommend them! My 2 cents: Whenever looking at reviews always scroll to the bottom and look at the filtered reviews as well. I don't agree with Yelps review filter- ALL reviews should be counted. In many cases if all reviews were considered, some 5 star companies would have a 2 star rating and vice versa. Decide for yourself yelpers, don't let their "algorithm " do it for you! read more

Jacqueline did my blow out and she does excellent work! I don't think I've ever looked better leaving a salon as I did after Jacqueline got her hands on my head. I bought a Living Social deal for four bow drys and a conditioning treatment. I forget how much I paid but I know that it came out to less per blow dry than Dry Bar charges. It's always a little scary letting someone you don't know let loose on your hair but I am so happy I found Jacqueline! She's calm and cool and put me at ease. The salon itself is gorgeous and peaceful. Everybody I came in contact with at the salon, including the person I booked the appointment with, are total sweethearts. Can't wait for my next blow dry and I'm going to try Jacqueline out for cuts next time. The salon is pretty easy to find but parking in Laguna Beach is a bear. My suggestion is to arrive way before your appointment in order to find a spot. Five stars for Studio DC. I think I've found my new "I love my hair salon" place! read more

Great place! Great space right in the village, really good prices and excellent cuts. Cristina does an excellent job! The first time I went my wife said, "Tell 'em not to mess it up!" (I've had some bad cuts in the past). That night, and for several after, she kept remarking, "Wow, they did a really good job on your hair." Now she's going to start going there. Thanks Cristina! read more

I've been coming here almost a year and I love it! I drive to Studio DC from Los Angeles because it's the 1st place I've been to in 8 years that I don't leave and immediately grab scissors or a box of color. Lena is a goddess. She gives a fantastic cut and is just a sweetheart to talk to. I've now started recruiting other friends from LA to make the drive because it really is that good. The salon's beautiful, the people are so nice and I always leave happy. It's 100% worth the 2 hour trek, gas money and everything! read more

I have never been loyal to a stylist for more than a year or so... Until I started going to Shane. I've followed him from salon to salon for about 4 years because he is by far the best stylist in Laguna Beach ( maybe all of OC). My kids love him too!! read more

The way I know Danielle gives me the best haircuts is that everyday in between cuts is a good hair day!!

Natalie is an artist! If you're looking for the most up to date techniques and cutting edge trends when it comes to color and extensions, she's your girl. Sarah at Studio DC does a truly amazing job on both my cut and color. I am a natural blonde but wanted a change and went dark chocolate brunette and Sarah did a fantastic job transitioning from blonde to brunette and back again. She is honest and up front about what she is going to do and how long it will take. For example, when I returned to blonde she was very honest with how many sessions it might take and what results to expect in order to keep my hair super healthy. She uses top product and my hair always looks really healthy and shiny when I leave. Her assistant Billy is also fantastic and the salon has great atmosphere. Sara is pretty popular, so expect a bit of a wait to get your appointment but her prices are very decent, especially for the area. I highly recommend! read more

This salon is top notch! I highly recommend it, super adorable, excellent colorists, very professional, friendly and not to mention, fun.

Carie P. Is a colorist master! I am a blonde who used to have very fine and brittle hair, but Carie transformed it through safe coloring methods, balayage, and even extensions. I now no longer need extensions and my hair is thicker and longer than it's been in years. She's super meticulous and sweet as can be. It's really hard to find someone who knows how to create the perfect shade of blonde so Carie's my girl. I won't trust my hair to anyone else for color or extensions. read more

This is a goto spot for any guy looking to up his game a notch, or 10! This place has got style in spades, so much so, that no matter how you look walking in you're going to love the way you look walking out. From haircuts to advice on styling clothing, shoes, etc... Studio DC has you covered. I've never been especially particular about my haircuts because I had always been under the impression that a haircut, is well, a haircut. That is until I went to Studio DC and they showed me how just a few tweaks can have you looking and feeling like a new man. It's amazing the confidence boost you get from a haircut that's suited to your frame. Your hair is the crown of your look and they focus on tailoring a look to you. My stylist at Studio DC, Dannielle, is able to work with me and she somehow always manages is give me a cut that is tasteful and current, but still uniquely mine. It doesn't stop at just the hair either, Dannielle offers personnel styling service too! She'll ensure that you've got the right wardrobe and accessories needed for any occasion, or the rest of your life. I cannot capture in this review how my life has changed thanks to Dannielle and Studio DC. More confidence at work, on the course, and especially with the ladies. I get compliments all the time from the opposite sex, not just about the hair, but about all the clothes and shoes Dannielle has helped me select too. So thanks for the new lease on life Dannielle! read more

This is a great salon in Laguna Beach with friendly staff and beautiful decor. The owner Dannielle does a fantastic job!

I just moved down from San Francisco to Laguna Beach and I was looking for a place to get my haircut. After several places fell flat, I called Studio DC Salon on a whim. I was booked with Kelly to cut my hair. I found out how awesome she was. Now I get my hair cut with her every time. It's not just the stylists that are good there, the atmosphere is great as well. It's like you are getting your haircut in a secret, designer tree house. read more

Rue is amazing! He is great with color and cuts and I love that he is always thinking outside of the box. When ever I find something fun and new to do he is always fair game and does whatever it takes to make sure I walk out looking amazing. I have been going to Sarah at Studio DC for a little over a year. I get blonde highlights and cuts. Sarah is amazing and really listens to you what you want. She is one of the only stylists I have ever been to that does an amazing job on lowlights as well. She was able to match my dirty blonde color perfectly. Her prices are reasonable too especially for oc/laguna beach. Go to Sarah if you want the best blonde hair! read more

I love this place! Hollis does the most beautiful color, and my hair always comes out shiny, gorgeous and super healthy, even though I have been bleaching it for years. I love the interior of the salon, it's super cute and intimate, nice and cool even in the summer, and conveniently located downtown Laguna, right next to Zinc! Couldn't be happier with my favorite hair stylist! Finally someone who knows how to do my hair the way I want it, without charging an arm and a leg! Hooray! read more

I have been coming to Studio DC for a little over a year. When I first moved to Laguna I went on an exhaustive search to find the perfect salon. I'm a huge perfectionist and very picky about how my hair is done. After trying upwards of six salons without satisfaction I finally found Danielle at Studio DC! What makes this place stand out from others I have tried is the atmosphere that is created here both by the friendly stylists, relaxing ocean breezes, and high quality products employed. I have been going exclusively to Danielle (who is the owner) but you really can't go wrong with any of the stylists here. They play great music, the conversation flows, and I have never had a bad haircut. I highly recommend you try this place out you won't be disappointed. read more

I came in today BADLY needing some waxing. Kanan is the newest esthetician, she and one stylist were in the Salon since it was a quiet Sunday. I LOVED my brows when I left. She gave me a great massage. I'm hooked!!! Will definitely be coming back. read more

Brittany does an amazing job on my blonde hair. I've been going to her for my weaves for some time now and now she does hair extensions! I love them!! I'm so glad I let her talk me into them. They are so much fun and easy to put in. She uses the tape wefts so they aren't as damaging on my hair. She's fast and does a great job! Thanks Britt!! read more

I absolutely love my haircut from Katie! She transformed my disheveled, randomly layered bob/ chunky bangs into a flawlessly smooth, seamless, flowing cut with gentle side swept bangs. It falls just right and makes the hair look healthy. This is the kind of haircut that will look good both styled and un-styled and grow out well. Katie really knows hair. Glad to have found her! read more

Suzanne is amazing! I have never been happier with my hair. The color and cut ended up better than I could have ever imagined. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing and fun. I had a last minute holiday party to attend and everyone there worked hard to fit me in . My experience was above and beyond in every way possible. Studio DC is a unique, chic, and modern salon. I highly recommend this salon to women and men. Stylist Jacquelyn does a brilliant job on my hair. I have textured curly hair and her blowouts are fabulous; I look like i have naturally straight hair. Her blowouts last days and i truly feel so confident. She also has done my keratin treatments and does prestine cuts. Her fresh perspective and great prices are worth drive in from out of town. read more

Carie Vejvoda is the best! She is a total perfectionist, so when it comes to my crazy thick long hair, she is super careful and takes her time with each and every highlight, so that my hair looks naturally sun kissed every single time. Over the last few years Carie has taken my hair from a dark brown to a much lighter shade, but surprisingly my hair has remained very healthy and strong. I would highly recommend Carie to any client looking for fresh and natural looking highlights. read more

Carie V. Has been doing my highlights for 7 years and is the only one I will let touch my hair. I am thrilled she moved to such a charming location. they are really amazing at this salon. I had my hair cut and colored by Suzanne, I am from out of town and I wasn't sure if she would be able to match my color. She did such an amazing job. I am very picky about where I go, and I would normally only go to my regular stylist but i needed a cut bad. after a lot of searching i decided to give Studio DC a try. They are all really friendly and make you feel comfortable. i visit California often and I think I might just wait from now on until I come back here to get my hair done. I have walked past this salon for years now. Decided to give it a chance and booked an appointment with Marisa for an all over color, cut and blow dry and needless to say, I found a stylist! She is so sweet and so professional and did an amazing job on my cut and color. If you are looking for a great stylist who is great to talk to, go see Marisa at Studio DC! read more

I wish I had an experience within the salon to talk about but I was never even given the opportunity. In October I was visiting Laguna for a week and had an important event to attend at the end of the week. I knew the chances of my getting an appointment just days before the event were slim but I figured I'd at least try. I called AND emailed the salon, but in three days I didn't hear a thing. I looked up and found a salon in San Juan who was happy to return my call and give me a great cut and treatment; Brush Salon, so there was a happy ending. I just couldn't figure out why this DC Salon, with such great reviews on Yelp didn't even show me the courtesy of returning a phone call or a simple email..horribly rude. read more

PLEASE do not get your make-up done here!!!! I was in a recent bridal party and had to get it done. I've had it done before many times and it's always turned out great, so I wasn't worried a bit. The artist used mac make-up which i love, but I immediately began to worry when she took out a large brush and proceeded to paint layer upon layer of foundation on my face. She applied a TON of powder and I knew it was going to look cakey by the time of the wedding. Then, the blush... She told me she had to put a lot of blush-she called it "whore blush"-so it would show up in the photos. Btw I asked for a "natural look". When I asked for some eyeliner, she didn't have any. Okay? I thought she was a professional makeup artist??? The icing on the cake...you ask?? The false eyelashes. She had no idea what she was doing. I just wanted them a little fuller. Instead I got inch long clumpy Lady Gaga-inspired eyelash mess. Couldn't even see correctly out of my eyes!!! I asked her to fix some things, but already knew I had to redo it myself....(didn't want to upset the bride by making a scene). Btw before she was done she painted even more foundation around my eyes to cover the eyeshadow dust that had fallen from my lids. Nice. Ultimately, I paid my outrageous bill and went back to redo my ENTIRE face. Waste of time, money, and practically had a heart attack thinking I was going to ruin the wedding pictures. DONT GO HERE FOR MAKEUP!!!!! read more
