Tiara and Selena were truly the backbone of our wedding day. Several of our guests told us that the wedding ran super smoothly and that there was always something fun to do -- and we credit so much of that to this incredible duo. Leading up to the day, we were definitely feeling the weight of wedding anxiety, but the moment Tiara and Selena came into the picture, we felt lighter and more at ease. We had multiple stations (welcome table, polaroids, bar, build-your-own bud vase) spread across a sprawling estate, and they navigated it all with such calm, capable energy. Even the next morning -- after the whirlwind was over -- we woke up to find our decor neatly packed, trash collected, and everything in its place. They didn't just show up for the "day-of." Their presence, professionalism, and foresight supported us through the chaos and the comedown. I'm a very DIY, spreadsheet-loving type of person, and still felt like they were additive and supportive through the details-- my only regret is not bringing them in sooner. If you're on the fence: yes, you need a planner. And if you're lucky, you'll get Tiara and Selena. read more

Gina and Julia made all our non-traditional wedding dreams come true. From start to finish, Gina provided flexible, invaluable support. My husband and I had a pretty clear vision for the event we wanted to throw and felt pretty comfortable identifying/vetting vendors, but wanted upfront support to ensure we weren't missing any key moves and month-of support so that we could enjoy the event fully. Gina didn't force us into full-service planning, but instead offered to do a few consultation calls upfront, then step back in to support month-of. She and Julia then knocked it out of the park month-of. We organized a complicated, interactive weekend with many different vendors and moving parts. They made sure everything came together, were unflappable through some last-min shifts, and kept us all smiling and laughing throughout. So grateful for all their magic! read more

Weddings in Color, Gina and MJ, executed our non-traditional vision of creating a wedding that felt like a music festival expertly on the day! From the second we arrived at our wedding venue on the day of the wedding (San Pablo Harbor) we didn't have to worry about a thing, and were able to be fully present, as our vision became a reality, it was a magical day for us and our friends and family! Everything ran so incredibly smooth- our festival theme had multiple bands and food stalls and even a different flow for the day, and Gina & MJ made sure we stuck to our schedule and were where we needed to be, and we are very grateful for their presence and expertise. Weddings in Color has a team of fantastic in-house vendors they partner with including florists, graphic designers, videographers/content creators, lighting & sound, and caterers that help streamline the planning process. Their day-of team support brought all our festival decorations and vibe to life - there was no detail left unconsidered. It looked and felt like magic that day. Thank you to the Weddings in Color family for all you did to help us create the best day of our lives, we are so grateful! read more

Gina was an enormous help to us when planning our wedding, I really don't think we can give her enough credit! My fiance and I had a vision for our wedding (we wanted a music festival theme) and some rather non-traditional wants, Gina made our high concept ideas into a reality. We opted for partial planning and had Gina take on the tasks we weren't very familiar or comfortable with (venue search, vendor contracts, waitstaff, etc.), but regardless I felt like she really assisted with the event as a whole offering advice and support on the projects that we did take on ourselves. She kept us on track with planning and offered lots of creative ideas on how to make our wedding really fun and unique, she's easy to work with and makes you feel at ease with the wedding planning process. As bride who didn't want to micromanage I was glad that Gina really got the overall 'feeling' of our wedding and was able to present options to us that worked with our budget and theme - as the planning process progressed I continually gained confidence that Gina would know what I liked. She is a style-mind reader! Gina is also very responsive and offered ample support in those busy weeks before the wedding and day-of. I never felt like a burden reaching out to her with any question, big or small. I strongly recommend her as a wedding planner - I can't imagine we would have ever pulled off such a successful event without her! read more

Make it Mariko founder, Gina Rosales, helped us through the wedding planning process and the day of our wedding could not have been more perfect. Gina's expertise, attention to detail, sense of humor and candor helped us to make hard decisions, keep our wedding aligned with our personalities and values, and ensured we had a great time doing it. Just as I was getting a bit overwhelmed with all of the decisions, in came Gina with clarity and spunk. She was ready with an exhaustive list and we worked together to pare it down to what was important for us to have, experience, taste, and feel on our wedding day. Her extensive network of florists, musicians, videographers and more took the guesswork out of finding some of the missing pieces for our reception. Gina connected us with an amazing jazz/soul band for our cocktail hour and our guests are still* talking them! On the big day, Gina flawlessly wrangled a massive bridal party, over 10 vendors, 140 guests and smoothly kept everything going. She also surprised us with a fun bridal party tunnel during our entrance as Mr. & Mrs. which made me cry with pure joy and still makes me tear up when I watch the video. :) Thanks Gina! I will never be able to repay what Gina and Make it Mariko gave to me and my new husband that day, but we can recommend her for your big day and hope to pass on the fun and love she and her team gave to us. read more

We hired Make It Mariko Events for our wedding and it is not an understatement to say that Gina and her crew made it the day of our dreams! Gina and the team were highly communicative (which is so key when planning a big event!) detailed, and offered suggestions and expertise while staying helping us true to us and our vision. Gina had the best vendor recs and also worked effortlessly with our venue and other vendors we had already hired. SO many of our guests said that our wedding was fun, joyful, and very "us" which is exactly what we wanted. Make It Mariko was by far our most important and best decision we made in making our wedding day dreams come true! read more

Gina was the first and last wedding planner we met with. Her passion, creativity, and bubbly personality immediately drew us both in and we knew instantly that she was the right person for us. She took the time to get to know us on a personal level, so that our wedding would ultimately reflect us. She listened and wrote down every single thing we told her. But most importantly, she took our personalities, our nuances, and our ideas, and executed them into exactly what we imagined, all the while reflecting our uniqueness as a couple. Gina is hard-working, so organized, and totally driven. She has made it her professional mission to ensure that your special day is more than special, it's extraordinary. We cannot thank Gina enough for all the time, energy, and direction she put into our wedding day. I could not have imagined a better person for the job and I highly recommend her if you're looking for someone special. We love you Gina!! Stu & Hill read more

Gina planned our wedding last summer (August 19, 2017)at the Presidio Golf Course and knocked it out to the park for us. She and her team took care of everything they said they would so Tim and I could enjoy our wedding day and be present with our guests. She is well organized and tracks all the key details and milestones so you don't have to. She is well connected to an affordable network of services and resources and hooked us up with an amazing florist who articulated our vision beautifully (@juna_alinea), a DJ who created the perfect dance vibe we were striving for (@livinpro0f ), and a photographer (@aliceche ) who captured it all for us with stunning images we will cherish for our lifetime together. Make it Mariko, make weddings a memorable marvelous experience!!! read more

Gina and her team are incredible! She is ultra responsive and is a true whiz at multi-tasking. She helped launch our event venue Colorbloq. This started with help on branding, then preparing marketing materials, finding a venue manager, and the grand finale of hosting a preview party for 200 people. All along the way she brought in incredible vendors that were just as impressive, whether branding, catering, lighting, AV and more. She is really passionate about her work and makes the event process actually fun. read more

We highly recommend Gina! We hired her for the partial planning package since we already had some of our vendors picked out. She was exceptional from the planning process to the wedding day. She's organized, detailed, and comes with a wealth experience and creative ideas that helped us have the wedding we pictured. We were able to incorporate all of the details that we wanted included in our wedding while being realistic and within our budget. Gina is part of a collective and knows a lot of other vendors in the industry - she made some great recommendations and referrals (but absolutely no pressure to use them!). She was very easy to communicate with and we had monthly and weekly meetings scheduled, but were also able to contact her any time for random questions. Gina is a joy to work with and we can confidently say that our wedding was a success because of her. Our wedding went SO smoothly because she was so on top of it with all details and managing everything from deliveries, vendors, to making sure everyone was where they should be, and ensuring the event ran on time. She was worth every penny - sometimes I still can't believe how low stress our wedding planning and day of was. We can only thank Gina for that! read more

I threw a party weekend for my wife in Calistoga recently. I had a strong sense of what I wanted the experience to be like for everyone but was worried that I didn't have time to plan out all the little things properly, that I would waste money by not having the time to look for the best deals on food, alcohol, etc ahead of time, and that during the event I might not to get to enjoy it much because I was too busy making sure everything was going correct. Thankfully, I hired Gina to help me and it was smooth sailing from there! She planned a ton of the details ahead of time, saved me a ton of money in that process, and then during the weekend she was there all the time, made sure everything was smooth, and on top of it was so great to be around she felt like somewhere between one of the guest and a camp councilor. Thank you, Gina!!! Astro Palo Alto read more

How do people have weddings without coordinators?! From the very first meeting, Gina's confidence and enthusiasm gave us the feeling that we could trust her with coordinating our big day. Most impressive was Gina's ability to manage our high level vision, while also taking time to understand all the endless details that were important to us. Her experience with event planning helped surface things that would have fallen through the cracks. Gina did a great job at setting realistic expectations with our budget and never pushed us towards anything we weren't comfortable with. A wedding coordinator has a huge effect on the vibe of your wedding and Gina's professional and warm demeanor allowed us to be present with our loved ones and have the perfect wedding. We couldn't imagine being able to pull off our wedding without her help! read more

Gina and the Make it Mariko team are awesome! Sunday Streets partnered with UNDSCVRD to put on the first ever marketplace at the Sunday Streets SoMa event in August along Folsom Street and it was a great success. Through the countless hours of planning, research, and outreach she always held it down and was a huge resource of event planning knowledge and expertise! I was booked to DJ a private event through Make it Mariko, and Gina was there to provide information every step of the way. Communication is always clear and response time is quick. She has a good sense of matching her DJ network with what her client needs because she knows her music, and knows her DJs. Very easy to work with on the days counting down to the event and also the day of. Very prompt in making sure the deposit and full payment was on time. She is very experienced in throwing events of different scales no matter how big or how small, and she knows her community well. I would definitely recommend Make it Mariko for anyone's event planning needs. Thank you Gina! read more

Gina did a great job with our wedding planning! It was so helpful to have her guidance, organizational help, and fresh ideas. We didn't have the most conventional wedding and Gina totally got it. She didn't push us into anything we didn't want to do. I appreciated her flexibility and just lack of surprise at our decisions. She really worked well with us. She definitely has strong organizational skills and is good at keeping track of all the details and asking the right questions. She's very down to earth, friendly, and professional. For the vendors that she found for us (we did a partial package) she and her team (Megan!) did a wonderful job finding options and presenting them clearly. Researching vendors is an insane amount of work and it is SO WORTH IT to have someone do it for you! In particular, the florist she found for us was truly amazing! I'm a creative person (and so is my spouse!) but there is a point at which we didn't have it in us any more, and Gina's experience and ideas added so much! She brought a Polaroid camera and guests took photos of themselves and put them in the guest book, so fun. Day of wedding: We were particularly impressed by their set up work for the decor. I made a lot of decorations, some of which were organized, some of which were not, and they put it all together so beautifully. A wedding can easily become a stressful mess (especially for the bride and groom!) but hiring Make it Mariko made it the joyful, worry-free celebration it should be! read more

Gina is super cool, personable and has lots of style. She puts on a beautifully arranged and seamless event. Worked with her as a photographer for a birthday party she organized and just had an excellent experience with nothing but good things to say about my dealings with her and staff before, during, and after the party. Have worked with and witnessed a multitude of planners and she and Make it Mariko are definitely some of the best. Check her out! read more

Gina and her team are amazing people to work with! She is extremely professional and she put her heart into the works she does. Our wedding couldn't be this much fun and great without her. We hired Gina and Make it Mariko (her entrepreneurial baby in every way) to help us plan our wedding this September. Wedding planning only gets more hectic the closer you come to your big day and Gina stepped in seamlessly to help us pull it all together. From booking a great DJ and florist, to helping plan dinner and dessert menus, figuring out lighting and set up and hand making beautiful signage that helped to bring the whole space together, she did it all. It was telling that although we spent a lot of time working with Gina before the wedding, discussing details and schedules, etc, we barely saw her on the actual wedding day. She and her assistant were working tirelessly in the background to make sure the day went off without a hitch. Our friends and family commented on how in charge, friendly and helpful she was throughout the entire day. Gina is experienced, professional and an incredible source of fun and creative energy, just what a great event needs. read more

Gina and her team were responsible for organizing The Marketplace Conference, which brought together ~200 founders and VCs in San Francisco for a day of sessions and knowledge exchange. Gina was organized, professional, effective, efficient, and pleasant to work with throughout. She even proposed a number of smart, creative ideas to enhance the experience even further. I trust her to do a great job and would be delighted to work with her again. read more

Simply the BEST! That is what comes to mind when I think about Gina Rosales Founder & Lead Event Producer at Make It Mariko Events. I worked directly with Gina for a huge fundraiser event for The Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ youth. She is so creative and inspirational. We worked together with the local San Francisco Trevor Ambassador Group and came up with a theme #ThisIsMe. The event took place Pride Week at Twitter Global Headquarters. Gina was instrumental in making sure all event logistics were in place. She worked directly with the Twitter Events team to work on décor, timeline, load-in, load-out all event details. Gina was able to secure some huge talent for the event; Javier Ninja, Father of the Legendary House of Ninja, NYC and the LADIES OF ASIASF. Without Gina we would not have secured such big talent for the event. She worked directly with each performer and made an mind blowing run of show. Because of the amazing out of the box work Gina did for the event, it turned out to be our largest fundraiser in San Francisco for The Trevor Project. Raising over $52,000. Without a doubt, Gina is simply the BEST event planner and producer. I am so excited to work with her on our next event. I wish I could give her a million stars! When looking for an event planner, Gina is the number one person I would recommend. ALWAYS MAKE IT MARIKO! read more

Gina and Make it Mariko did an incredible job coordinating our wedding! We are still reliving all of the amazing moments and we will continue to do so for years to come. We were in such capable hands, and I'm glad we picked Make it Mariko for our special day. Gina is hyper-organized, has a take-charge attitude, and we were able to simply enjoy ourselves, knowing that she would take care of everything. The wedding schedule that we had discussed before the ceremony and reception went off perfectly, and Gina did a fantastic job liaising with our other vendors and making sure everything came together. There were a handful of details (like dessert!) that stressed me out pre-wedding, and Gina had helpful, creative ideas about how to resolve them. Make it Mariko's services and prices are competitive, and they loop you into a network of other gifted event specialists and artists. We could not have asked for a better event planner!
