    The Dream Team for Our Cancun-Tulum Wedding! If you're looking for wedding planners who will go above and beyond to make your big day unforgettable, look no further than Nupur and Anjali at Behl Events! My partner and I had the most incredible 3-day wedding in Tulum, Mexico earlier this year and it wouldn't have been possible without these two amazing women. From the moment we first spoke with Nupur, we knew we were in good hands. She listened to all our ideas (and there were a lot!), offered super helpful suggestions, and helped us shape our vision into something even better than we imagined. Anjali was a rockstar when it came to keeping everything organized and making sure no detail was overlooked. Together, they were the dream team! The Planning Process Planning a destination wedding can be stressful, but Nupur and Anjali made it feel effortless. They stayed on top of everything--timelines, budgets, vendor contracts--you name it. They were always just a call or email away, and trust me, I had a million questions! They were patient, kind, and genuinely excited about every step of the process. Vendor Magic One of the things we were most impressed with perspective on selecting vendors, as we were picking most vendors that are local in Mexico, Nupur and Anjali used their vast experience to vet out the best from the vendors we researched. They helped us make decisions on decor/florals... They strongly recommended that we pick a DJ from the US and having their recommended DJ for all our events from Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding, and reception was the best decision. The Wedding Weekend Wow. Just wow. Our guests are still talking about how amazing everything was! From the welcome Superbowl party to the Haldi, to Sangeet, to Baraat, Shaadi, and reception to the after party, every event was perfectly executed. Nupur and Anjali were on-site making sure everything ran smoothly, and it did. They thought of everything--even things I didn't realize we needed! What Stood Out What I loved most about working with Nupur and Anjali was how much they cared. This wasn't just another wedding for them--they took the time to get to know us as a couple and made sure every part of our wedding reflected who we are. Their passion and personal touch made all the difference. If you're considering hiring them, DO IT.     We contacted Behl Events in mid January of 2023. We had just gotten engaged. We wanted help planning our multiday Hindu Indian wedding for the upcoming fall. We reached out to a few different planners and Nupur understood our needs and asked the right questions. We knew that the staff at Behl Events were well experienced in Bay Area Indian weddings. Nupur set us up with Anjali as our main planner. We opted for the full service planning package. Now, planning our wedding was no easy feat. We had a very short time frame. Planning started in earnest in March and our wedding date was set to be early September. Anjali was able to step up to the challenge and meet with us frequently to make it all happen. Anjali was able to connect us with the right vendors who met all our needs. She was able to manage all the vendor's requests and captain the ship. We had a fairly large wedding with two different venue locations with about an hour drive between the wedding and the reception which occurred on the same day. Anjali, Behl events and their whole team were able to coordinate and execute everything in an outstanding way. Our wedding day went extremely well without any real hitch. Anjali was able to manage all issues the day of with or without our knowledge. It was truly the best day of our lives and we couldn't have done it without Behl Events! Thank you!

    Anjali went above and beyond for our three day fusion wedding. My wife and I were totally stressed out before we started working with Anjali, due to the demands of the event, numerous vendors, and very different types of venues including a warehouse-type event space, El Sobrante Gurdwara, and a country club. Some highlights from our work together: 1. Anjali came up with a great floor plan and event flow at our open floorplan Sangeet venue, which kept guests engaged during performances. 2. At times we ran over time in our calls, and Anjali made sure we got through all of our questions via extra time and follow-ups. 3. She created an extremely helpful timeline for our Friday event, even though she was not onsite for that event. Highly recommend working with Anjali at Behl Events!

    When your wedding seems to magically unfold without a single issue, you know you had expert-level coordinators. We planned a two-venue wedding with five performances, including one from me and one from my husband. There were a dozen vendors. There was transportation from Berkeley to SF. There were surprises that had to secretly be rehearsed. There was no way we could have done it on our own. We hired Nupur and her team a few months before the wedding. She paired us with Risha, a fantastic and super organized coordinator who put us at ease right away. Risha was indispensable, I can't imagine having to handle the mountain of tasks that pile up during those last few weeks! Not only did she keep us on track, she and Nupur thought of so many things we wouldn't have--potential logistical issues, ways to make the night flow better, and a really fun group sendoff after the ceremony. Most importantly, they were the best support system the day of. Totally available, anticipating our needs before we asked, quietly wrangling people and keeping the night on schedule without anyone noticing the behind the scenes work. I felt 100% confident on our wedding day with them by my side, and would recommend them to anyone who wants the same!

    We worked with Anjali for our Sangeet as a month of coordinator and it was the best vendor hire we made. Anjali understood the nuances of our event, the small cultural elements of having a fusion event, how to use the venue effectively and had great ideas on how to make the event the best possible guest experience. We had weekly meetings starting 6 weeks before the event where we ironed our event flow and any logistical detail and she was prompt with any follow ups and always connected the vision of our event we had communicated back to the finer details. Day of, Anjali was a lifesaver. She even helped handle a vendor that backed out last minute and got them to still come. She let us and more importantly, our family take our hands off the wheel and enjoy the event without having to worry about any details. If I ever need an event planner again I know who to call!

    Due to the pandemic, Nupur was in our lives for practically two whole years! Through out all of the unpredictability of that time period, she was with us, helping us navigate the changes, stress, and sharp turns along the way. Nupur has a great wealth of knowledge of excellent vendors to choose from to make your wedding day special and it was her suggestion of our venue--the Lake Tahoe Hyatt--in our very first consultation phone call that helped me know she was someone with the right intuition and taste to help bring my vision for our wedding to life. Particularly in the last few months of the planning process, having her make space for extremely regular phone calls and email check-ins was a saving grace and really what I needed to not completely lose my sanity! Where Nupur and her team were absolutely indispensable was during our wedding events themselves. So many of our guests commented on what a fluid and well coordinated wedding weekend it was and I know that it is in HUGE part (if not completely) due to Nupur, Anjali, and Radha. They were everywhere all at once, running back and forth, making sure every detail was executed as intended. Not only did they run an amazingly tight ship, they were also there for us emotionally and felt like our guardian angels during one of the busiest, most frenetic experiences of our lives!

    Our wedding planner, Nupur from Behl Events, was the single reason our wedding was so much fun and was low stress and enjoyable - not only on the day of but also throughout the entire 1.5 year wedding planning process. Nupur expertly guided my now-husband and I through every single step of the wedding planning process, from what to consider when selecting a venue, to selecting our many other vendors and what questions we should ask them as we got to know them, to how to structure the weekend in a way that was unique and meaningful to us. We both have very busy jobs and priorities other than wedding planning and Nupur went above and beyond to make sure we were moving at the right pace and not running out of options or missing something important (our weekly wedding planning calls and her running action items documentation would put even the best project managers to shame). Nupur also proactively suggested so many touches and details that brought our vision to life. She immediately understood the core principles behind what we wanted to prioritize in our wedding - my husband is Indian-American and my family is Chinese-American so we wanted a fusion of cultures in a modern, equitable way; and we wanted our wedding to feel welcoming and like our guests were well taken care of. Nupur always kept these goals front of mind - when she suggested we have boba as an Asian touch at the Friday Sangeet (a colorful Indian wedding event), when she researched for hours to find florists that could do the uncommon textured Japanese ikebana style of floral arranging we wanted, when she asked the priest to make sure I (as the woman) could lead some parts of the Hindu ceremony in the spirit of gender equity (despite tradition), and when she personally visited the venue on the wedding day as they were setting up to make sure every single detail was as envisioned. This is just 1/10000000th of what Nupur did to go above and beyond for us. Nupur was so much more than just an incredible wedding planner, where we trusted her with every small logistic and got to a place where we trusted her to just make small decisions for us (like the linens and cutlery where she could tell we didn't care what was chosen so she was able to reduce the decision making burden for us and make elegant, tasteful decisions on our behalf). Nupur also helped us manage our emotions- before our bachelor and bachelorette parties, Nupur texted us reminding us to be present and to really make sure we enjoyed the moment. Nupur also led on negotiations and requesting concessions from vendors, which enabled us to stay in budget while also not sacrificing anything we really wanted from the weekend. The biggest example of Nupur helping us manage our emotions was that a few days before our wedding day, we saw that it was going to rain on the big day. Since our wedding was outside, we had to scramble to come up with a rain plan; Nupur not only led the conception of a rain plan that would help us keep our original vision for the day, but also cheered us up and reminded us that we were doing everything we could to keep guests warm and dry other than learning how to control the weather. The day the tents were being set up for our ceremony, Nupur noticed a pole was going to be in the middle of the aisle and block everyone's view of us on the mandap (Indian altar) so she helped us negotiate so that we could have an aisle with no poles blocking anyone's path (we wouldn't even have noticed it because we didn't have time to go to the ceremony site to check on the tent set up). Nupur also was so respectful to our families and their wishes to be a part of the wedding planning process; she patiently walked our parents through the timeline numerous times so that they were in the right place at the right time and were able to truly enjoy the weekend and feel their cultures reflected throughout. My top recommendation in my entire life is to work with Nupur as your wedding planner - she changed our lives and our year and we will always be grateful to her for every big and little thing she did for us!!!

However, a few months before the wedding I was so overwhelmed with all the detail that Brenda offered to meet and she just helped me organized my priorities and made me feel really good about the progress I had made. She did the same 6 weeks later. OMG, so helpful to keep me going and manage the overwhelm. As the date grew nearer, she started leading more to ensure we took care of those horrible details (seating charts, signage, communication with vendors, table set ups, and the timeline, etc). At every moment she was calm, lovely, relatable, fun, reassuring, and extremely competent. The week before the wedding she came over and took ownership of all the "stuff" (candles, ceremony items, decorations, etc). That felt sooo good. She was great at the rehearsal and made sure "all the cats were herded"so we got through the rehearsal and worked out all the details. The day of the wedding? We were so relaxed and didn't think about a single thing. The tables were set exactly as we had discussed, the ambiance was amazing, every little detail she had taken care of. and then she cleaned up and stored everything for us and then brought it back to us a couple of days later. During the wedding, Brenda was a total ninja....I barely saw her at the wedding as she was in the background making it all happen so we could enjoy our guests. A guest even took a picture of her that makes her look like the super hero she is, LOL! You will LOVE working with Brenda. I cannot recommend her more vigorously. She is amazing.

Otis was kind with great attention to detail from the start. Ultimately, we decided with the glam package and our contract was very clear to understand with cost breakdown for removal of specific services / add-ons. I updated it many times with Jessica, our planner, as we made changes throughout the months, and she was always so patient and clear. Our MC Otis did a wonderful job with maintaining flow of the program. Otis was also working as DJ for a good portion of the evening, so props to him! We had closer to an hour compared to 1.5 hours of open dancing because we were behind schedule, but everybody was on the dance floor and he kept the party going seamlessly. Weddings are hectic and there are so many moving parts; we did get behind schedule but we were still able to do everything we wanted to do. Our photo & video services were set to end, but Otis was very professional in discussing with us if we wanted to extend our video services, communicative on additional cost, at the moment. Our photographer, Ben, along with the team Stanford and videographer, Christina, were so fun to work with. Ben was great at providing direction, which is especially helpful since we were not used to posing. I have not received photo & video yet as it has only been a week, but from an experience standpoint, they were attentive to detail, communicative, and glided effortlessly through the event. My makeup artist, Vivi, is the sweetest person. She was super attentive to detail and my particular skin type. I was worried about makeup because I don't wear heavy makeup often. I ended up paying for a make-up trial, and I was so happy working with Vivi that I had no worries for the wedding day. We also added-on make up for our mothers, which Vivi did the morning of. The reception decor turned out so pretty! Everything was set-up as scheduled. I was really happy with the welcome backdrop and name sign. It was also great to take pictures with guests with the backdrop since we had time during cocktail hour. We asked TDE to incorporate a large screen as the backdrop of our sweetheart table, so we found an example from a previous wedding they did, and it turned out exactly as expected. We added the photo-booth, which was so popular with the guests! There were so many cool props and our guests were having tons of fun with it. I also sent TDE a custom drawing that I wanted for the photo strips- and it turned out just like I imagined. We chose Grand Dynasty as our reception venue, and TDE communicated set-up details with our restaurant event manager, Esmond, in the days leading up to the event. I highly recommend TDE and the team that we worked with! Thank you for making it an unforgettable experience.

They provided a full package that included highly rated professionals - from hair/makeup stylist to photo/video. Instead of communicating with 5 different vendors we worked with 1 single point of contact - Tej from My City Hall Wedding. She guided us through everything we would need on our wedding day - hair, makeup, flowers, limo, photo and video. All in one single package. Tej helped me chose a hair and makeup style as well as flowers. And we completed trusted MCHW with their choice of photographer and videographer - look at their website - the images speak for themselves. On the day of the wedding everything went smoothly without a single worry. Our stylist was on time and was great. The florist delivered the flowers to our hotel room. The car was waiting for us, the photographer and videographer met us at the entrance of the City Hall and guided us through the whole process. Can't thank Josef (our photographer) for incredible photos. Alex - the videographer - captured very intimate and personal moments. Can't thank My City Hall Wedding and everyone involved enough. I have heard lots of stressful wedding stories and have been to a few of these myself. That was not our experience.

    **UPDATE**: Lisa is now threatening me with LEGAL ACTION, accusing me of "defamation" when I've…read moreonly shared my honest experience on Yelp. I've had no updates from Lisa since our last email on Feb 21 (over a month ago). At that time, she replied she was consulting with "industry experts" and will get back to me. Rather than reaching out to me personally she hired a lawyer to threaten me in the hope I will take my honest review of my experience with Blooming Wed down (photo of legal letter attached). I signed a wedding planning contract with Lisa and found myself needing to terminate it merely two months later. The process has been incredibly stressful and disheartening. Throughout it, I had the opportunity to meet with ~15 wedding planners both domestically and internationally, and gained a lot of insight into the wedding planning industry and contract nuances. I'll start my review with objective observations and end with my personal experience. **Strict Signed Contract** Lisa's contract is one of the strictest planner contracts I've ever seen. It does not have an Act of God clause that protects clients, meaning if anything happens (the venue is destroyed, a hurricane comes, the couple is sick, pandemic round 2...etc) she will not refund for any reason. She did not even give out refunds during COVID. This leaves her clients extremely vulnerable to unforeseen circumstances. **Problematic Payment Structure** This is how Lisa's payment is structured: flat $15k fee or 15% of the total wedding cost, whichever is higher. It's not unheard of for a planner to request payment this way, but it's incredibly uncommon. This arrangement creates a conflict of interest, as it may incentivize steering clients toward pricier options. It's evident that she has only completed a fraction of the work (2% to be exact), yet insists on keeping the full payment. It is crucial to choose a wedding planner who demonstrates flexibility, understanding, and a willingness to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, Lisa's refusal to adapt to our situation and the issues outlined above do not align with her premium pricing. Wedding planning is a constant stream of decision-making, which Lisa made so much easier by listening to our wants and needs and suggesting vendors, designs, timelines, hotels, and so much more. She made it so that our responsibility was to choose between a few, generally all great options rather than having to sort through the unlimited amount of choices. As an aside, Lisa has impeccable taste and knew how to execute our vision better than we could have dreamt of. We're still in love with our table settings! We were most impressed by the wedding day itself - Lisa managed all the stress of logistic so we could enjoy the day without a care in the world.
