UPDATED REVIEW I initially planned to book this company's full-service package but later decided to go with another vendor for planning. I then inquired about their a la carte services, which they confirmed they offered, since we were still looking for an officiant and coordinator. They should have been aware of the date we were interested in since we had a ~1 hour consult with them. I reached out to discuss next steps and sent follow-up questions, but didn't receive a response for 11 days. I had to email again just to get a reply. When they finally responded, I was told the date had "just" got booked. Now they are saying "we've never received an email from you stating you would like to book the service". The reason I hadn't confirmed yet was because they did not reply to my email I sent to them until 11 days later (after I double emailed them), and in that email they did not even answer the 2 questions I asked. In my experience, most people would want their questions answered before proceeding with a contract that will cost thousands of dollars. It also felt strange to me that the date had "just" been booked after such a long silence. If the date was no longer available, especially one they knew I was inquiring about, I would have appreciated being informed sooner and not having to double email. Prior to choosing a different planning vendor, their responses had been prompt, often within a few hours. The sudden shift to nearly 2 weeks of silence made it difficult to move forward, and it gave the impression they may have been holding off to prioritize full-service clients. I would have understood if that were the case, but the lack of transparency was disappointing. In their direct email to me, they also wrote: "While we respect your decision to move forward with another company, we feel it's important to share our previous experience with the provider you selected. They have a reputation for being challenging to work with particularly when it comes to communication, directions, and collaboration on the wedding day. In our own words, they don't work well with the vendors that are outside their network. That is the biggest reason we have to turn down this opportunity." This was in reference to TDE Wedding, another Bay Area company that works with a lot of Asian couples, which I ultimately chose for most of my services. That explanation differs from their public Yelp response, which states "we genuinely wish we could accommodate every inquiry, but availability is limited, especially during peak wedding season". These mixed messages and delays in communication made for a frustrating experience for me. If I sent out snail mail to Asia, it would get to my recipient faster than Theresa would respond to my emails. I tried to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she has been beyond unprofessional to the point where I would not trust her to help coordinate my wedding because I would be worrying about whether she's managing the schedule and doing her job correctly. When I was searching for a Day Of Coordinator, I noticed this company had good reviews so I decided to reach out. Approx. 2 days later on a Thursday, I get a message that the date I was inquiring about was available and if I wanted to schedule a 10 minute call to go over the details. I gave 3 options for the next 3 days (Fr, Sat, Mon). Theresa gets back to me on Saturday to say that she is available Monday at noon. From the initial phone meeting, to the site visit, to the rehearsal, she was on top of everything that needed to be done before our big day. We opted for day-of coordination services because we already had a general idea of what vendors we wanted to use. Planning our wedding during Covid was not ideal, but Theresa was very flexible and gave us ideas on how to scale our wedding up or down depending on the final circumstances. We got married at an outdoor venue in Santa Cruz, and Theresa drove down to meet us for both the site visit and the rehearsal, which was SUPER helpful. She also helped us to decorate the venue on the day-of, and everything looked phenomenal. We also ended up ordering our florals through Theresa's company as well, and that was a great choice because it didn't add any additional coordination between vendors (also, they were gorgeous!). On the day-of (we got married on a Saturday in June 2021), we had to shift the schedule a bit because there was a road closure getting down to Santa Cruz from where we were coming from. It seemed disastrous at first, but with Theresa's help and quick coordination with the caterer, we were able to alter the schedule and still ended up having a wonderful wedding. We got through all of our planned events with time to spare, and our guests told us later that they had no idea there was anything wrong! My only suggestion, is that in the future it would be helpful to keep a list of what items used during the wedding were brought by the bride/groom themselves. Theresa did an amazing job! I truly cannot recommend her services enough. I hired her as my day of coordinator but her package included the month of which was very helpful. She answered all of my questions (even the ones I sent 6, 4 and 2 months out from our wedding day) in a professional manner. She was extremely patient, and thorough. We went over the day of timeline twice during the process and I loved how detail oriented she was. She was supportive and made me feel as though she would handle it all. She did not disappoint! She attended the walk through meeting with the venue and other vendors and was very thoughtful in asking clarifying questions and putting my mind at ease. During our rehearsal, she was prompt, well understood by all, and effective in keeping things moving and party members on task. Many of my family members were impressed with her poise and demeanor. Theresa was our day of coordinator for our wedding and her services was one of the best things we spent our money on. Initially I thought maybe I could handle coordinating the wedding on the day but I am so glad I got Theresa's help. We had a couple of meetings leading up to the wedding and every time I would start the meeting stressed and leave feeling taken care of. Theresa was very responsive through emails and text, and handled getting vendors on the same page which was so helpful. On the day of there were a few things that didn't get communicated to the vendors and timeline changes but Theresa handled them all calmly, promptly, and with a smile. We contracted with Theresa for day of coordination, but it was actually more like month before coordination. First let me say that Theresa is extremely organized and thorough at what she does. Every step of the way she was there -responsive and helpful, she checked all the boxes. She kept the wedding on time and the evening flowing smoothly. I highly recommend her and her services. We also used her for our flowers for the bridal party, ceremony and reception. One thing that was missed were the rose petals that were to be placed along the aisle way, but that was okay as the wedding was the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden. The flowers were amazing!!! We absolutely loved her flowers. The only mistake we made was using the florist that the cake lady suggested for the cake flowers, we should have done those flowers with Theresa too.
