Cute little cafe. They have gourmet lattes and a nice selection of pastries. I got a white Mexican mocha and my sister got the flower latte. My sister is a huge lavender latte fanatic and is an extreme critic of them. She was visiting from hawaii and was in search for a really good lavender latte. The flower latte was the next best thing and she complimented the coffee. It had real flowers in it which made for a fragrant drink. My white mexican mocha was great too. The cafe itself was quaint yet inviting. The owners were friendly as well. read more

Since moving to Washington from San Diego, this is my go to. It's a really small cafe but it feels welcoming and comfortable. I worked on my computer here for a few hours one day and I saw so many customers who must have been regulars. They all knew the owners name, were so sweet, complimentary, and polite to him, and always left saying that they loved their drinks. It was really nice watching ppl enjoy the service and product and be so kind about it! I've had the Einspanner, Nutella latte, chai latte, and the affogato. All so good! I have a laundry list of what I wanna try from hearing (yes, eavesdropping) what other peoples usuals are too. ALSO he has the color changing butterfly-pea tea here!!!! If you haven't tried this yet, when you add something acidic to it (like lemonade), the color changes from blue to a pretty purple! Very fun and the taste of butterfly pea tea is very light, a touch floral and refreshing. Need to try this here! read more

We've been here since the first day, but this will be my first review here. Pros: This place makes specialty coffee called DUTCH coffee. I've tried all of their items, and I love all Dutch coffee which offers only iced, especially Dutch Black All and Dutch Latte. I can tell that the owner has a passion about the coffee, he loves what he's doing and you always see his smile:) Cons: The shop here is small. If you plan to hang out here, their seats aren't comfortable. And, you might need to wait a little bit if there is a line of more than 4 since the shop is a solo(sometimes his wife comes to help, so it's faster;)) I come here very often, and his coffee is consistent. You wouldn't be disappointed. read more

This place is such a gem. The drinks are beautiful and I believe it is the owners who are the only ones who work here. They put so much care and attention into every detail of each drink and the atmosphere is so calm and kind. The matcha latte is better than any I have had and I have to actually keep myself from going more than a couple times a week because the hot version has a decadent dollop of cream in it and the iced one is full of whipped cream...heavenly and a little caloric, perfect really. I look forward to the days I have a little extra time in my schedule to plan a quick stop here and am definitely a customer for life. read more

Exceeded my coffee shop experience! Small, dark, very well decorated, it was definitely worth a visit. Experience is even better when you have your two best friends with you! The owner was very meticulous about making cup taste to your expectation and looking beautiful! We ordered the flower latte, peppermint mocha, einspanner and a small order of waffles. The drinks were so dreamy! It was the perfect level of sweetness. The chocolate shavings on the einspanner is to die for! As for the flower latte, it was definitely a different order for me. It was my first time trying a flower latte, but I would definitely order it again. If you prefer a sweeter drink, I would suggest the peppermint mocha or einspanner because with you can definitely taste the espresso in the flower latte vs the sweetness, which I personally enjoy more! read more

This is such a cute little coffee shop.. The owner is very meticulous about making each cup taste great and look beautiful. It's very small but I would recommend getting your drink "for here" so you can have it out of one of the beautiful mugs! 09.28.18 Update Our favorite COFFEE spot in WA turned 1 today... Happy Birthday CAFE MAKARIO!!!! In our opinion, it'stheeee best coffee spot in the state and if we could pick...it would be among the top in the U.S. too! We're obsessed with their *Pour Over* and if calories didn't exist... I myself could drink a *Dutch Cube Latte* and eat their *Affogato* every day! They also sell pretty plants and flowers (see in pics that I have miraculously NOT killed them yet!) David & Sharon create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in their cafe. We love David's handmade coffee towers and the unique cups and dishes they use for customers who dine in (or maybe drink in?) Cafe Makario is our usual pre-hockey game date spot {Go Tips!} and definitely a must-stop place if we're just passing through Everett or if we've got visitors in town. If we lived any closer, we would probably be there every single day! I highly highly recommend that EVERYONE give this place a try ASAP! Seriously if you live in WA, skip Starbucks and Woods...go here. read more

This is a cutesy little shop. We went on a Saturday morning and by some miracle arrived and ordered before a huge swath of people descended upon the place- it is definitely popular! I can see the appeal of the place- their have a large and diverse menu, with some unique flavors and offerings. I loved that their menu had pictures of most of the drinks next to their names, but I did find I had to ask what many things were because the pictures didn't really tell me what the drink WAS. My husband and I both ended up getting the Einspanner- it's a latte topped with house made whip cream and white chocolate flakes. The whipped cream was the bees knees! I'd order just a cup of that! Maybe Dutch coffee isn't for me though, because i didn't care for the flavor of the latte- it tasted weak and watery. We also tried to order a pour over that was listed on the menu, but they said they didn't have the coffee. A small pet-peeve of mine: take it off the menu if you don't have it, cross it off, put a note, something! In summary- this place does have mass appeal, and if you like fancy flavored drinks and aren't too particular or snobby about the espresso yourself, here's your jam! If you're a bit persnickety about your SO's and niche coffee beans, head a few blocks over read more

I recently discovered Grain Artisan Bakery in Snohomish…read more(highly recommend), & since it was afternoon, I got a decaf latte to go with my rhubarb custard tart. With decaf, I've come to expect that I will need the sweet treat to enhance the drink, but this coffee was absolutely as good as the amazing pastry, which is super, super rare!! It was Velton's Three Ravens Blend, the best decaf - by far - that I have had in more than a decade of searching. Three Ravens is completely delicious standing alone - which is what I've been searching for - and it harmonizes beautifully for the half-caf I like to drink in the mornings. I first emailed the business about which of their caffeinated offerings they would recommend for this, and Velton Ross got back to me right away with the friendliest, kindest reply and several very thoughtful suggestions. So far I've enjoyed the Bonsai Blend - an excellent and delicious accompaniment, just a slightly warmer, brighter profile when full-caf than is my preference - and I am going to order the Twilight Blend next. Although you cannot buy in person from their roastery, you can easily order from their site. They have lovely detailed descriptions of everything they offer, and shipping is very quick and very reasonable. They roast on Mondays and ship on Tuesdays, and I have always received my order (in Shoreline) by Friday, or Saturday at latest. There are also quite a few retail locations from Everett to the eastside - and even one each in Vegas and Montana! - where you can buy their beans and/or drink their coffee. I greatly appreciate that they took the time to list these on their site with detailed information about each establishment. So helpful for learning about local businesses I might have otherwise never come across. Online, you can purchase both whole bean and pre-ground for espresso and drip coffee. The drip coffee grind was a little too fine for my coffee cone method. So I experimented with whole beans and found that, for me, the flavor is perfect when I grind them one setting coarser than I used to use for other coffees. The best part of all of this, is that this is the first decaf I've ever been able to drink without a feeling of compromise, extra doctoring, or gaslighting myself into believing that it's good. Zero disappointment!! I can make a straight decaf cup any time of day and know that I'm going to love every sip. Thank you, Velton's!!

Makario Coffee Roasters is a hidden gem that my family and I have absolutely fallen in love with! Every time we visit, the experience is nothing short of delightful. The lychee lemonade is a crowd favorite for my whole family, so refreshing and perfectly balanced with a hint of sweetness. My wife swears by the sesame latte, which she describes as rich, creamy, and unlike anything else she's had. And my little sister couldn't stop raving about the strawberry cream matcha, a beautifully layered drink that tastes just as amazing as it looks. The atmosphere here is warm and inviting, with cozy decor that makes you want to linger and sip your drink slowly. You can feel the care and passion the owners put into everything from the drinks to the overall vibe. If you're looking for unique, flavorful drinks and a welcoming spot to relax, Makario Coffee Roasters is a must visit. Highly recommend giving them a try! read more

Nestled in Everett, Washington, this charming coffee haven has carved a niche for itself with its unique offerings. The Taro Latte is a delightful surprise for the taste buds. Imagine sipping on a velvety blend of earthy taro root, expertly combined with creamy steamed milk. The result? A comforting elixir that dances between sweet and nutty notes. The texture is smooth, and the flavor profile is a harmonious balance of taro's distinct essence and the comforting warmth of a latte. It's like a cozy hug in a cup, perfect for those chilly Pacific Northwest days. So, if you find yourself in Everett, seeking a coffee experience that transcends the usual, make your way to Makario. Trust me, it's a hidden gem waiting to be discovered--one sip at a time. read more

What a gem! Everything on the menu here is as beautiful as it is delicious. Behold the pics of an adorable and refreshing lychee lemon tea I got over the summer. It's like the perfect date spot or private chill out zone. Please support this business! These two take coffee and beverages to a level of care that is wholly artistic taking care to share their passion and while making it approachable for everyone. I recently visited this Cafe and had their Mexican mocha and croissant, and it was a delightful experience. The Mexican mocha had the perfect balance of chocolate and cinnamon, and the espresso was strong but not overpowering. The croissant was flaky and buttery, and the perfect complement to the drink. The ambiance of the cafe was cozy and welcoming, with plenty of seating and natural light. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. read more

Amazing coffee in a town with high standards! Such unique brews and options. Each cup tasted and was specially made just for us. Prices for lattes are very reasonable. The specialty Dutch brews seemed expensive when you first look at the menu but each ingredient is made in house and tastes amazing, its totally worth it! Owner was super friendly and patiently explained the different items. Very relaxed atmosphere with trendy decor. Don't pass this place up! read more

I would put a 100 star on this review if i could! THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I love the coffee and snacks. The service here is very "Homey" and cozy. I especially love the Einspänner coffee that this café makes. They cream is really nice and sweet. The coffee is strong and I can defiantly taste the roasted beans. There are some places that burn the coffee beans, but that is NOT the case here. Love this place. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! read more
