I have used this company for a bunch of projects. Each time, was better than the last, and to the same degree of professionalism, and attention to detail. First was an exterior, then 2 decks front and back, now this time wallpaper removal, painting, patching, more painting, cabinets and all the trim and doors throughout. For the exterior, we found them on angies list and really liked their website, jayson built it himself.They did such a great job we asked them back for the deck, jayson emailed us a proposal the same day we inquired, he said he bid it when he was there the first time incase we needed the service, that was reason enough to hire him! For this Large project, we started out hiring a remodeling company that was redesigning our entire interior, we were so excited to begin. When we found out we could pick our painter for this project the "general" contractor mentioned 3 paint companies and one was MAJIC PAINTING. We figured this would work out great, considering they knew how to work with us before. It felt like it was in the stars, Jayson said "on with the magic show". This company listened carefully to what I needed and wanted and at the end of the job it looked really awesome. The color service lady named Kelly was a breathe of fresh air. The painting team (8 guys this time, to get the job done quickly) was professional, kind, and total gentleman. The work was started and completed, on time, as promised just in time for thanksgiving. We had a large family group coming in for this Holiday and we were a little nervous, considering jayson was going on vacation for a month, and would miss the last couple days of the project... All is well great team of workers and advisors. Thanks other Jason, David and Drea. The cost was spot on compared to some of the other painting companies we interviewed, they actually came in a little higher than one of the others bids we got and it didnt matter. The other "Jason" actually suggested we get multiple bids outside of the remodeling company, who does that? -a company not afraid to be challenged I guess, Jayson even offered to meet the low bid but we are so happy with their work we didnt dare, even though it was on my mind. Majic Painting did both an interior & exterior project for me. And both times, i had a great experience working with this company. I first met Jayson while collecting bids for an exterior paint project. I collected 5 bids, and his bid came exactly in the middle. I decided to go with him because he took the time to educate me on what to expect of the work, responded promptly to emails, had great reviews online, and they guarantee their work for 4 years. The other bids just guarantee their work for 1 or 2 years. The second time I had Jayson make a bid was for an interior project. I made the mistake of asking another painter for an estimate, and I called Jayson again when the other guy's bid was just plain unbelievable. Jayson's estimate for the same work was slightly lower than 50% of the other guy's bid. Workmanship on both projects was excellent. Hats off to Alyssa, Jesus & Nick for their work on my accent walls & newly added molding/trimwork around the house. I had asked them to paint alternating stripes in my daughters' rooms, keeping existing wall color in between the new stripes. The result was exceptional. The colors pop, lines are crisp & my daughters absolutely loved it. To Joe, Scott & Dave who did the exterior project, thank you for making my house look new again! My neighbors have also complimented on how clean & nice the house now looks. Pricing on both projects was very reasonable. For the exterior project, I paid exactly what was on the bid. And for the interior project, because the bid was made BEFORE all the new modling/trimwork was done, there were unforeseen work that needed to be accounted for that weren't in the bid. For this additional work, I was billed on a time & material basis. I think this was really fair, and this kept the final price still close to the original bid. Service is also another thing worth mentioning. From Jayson, to Andrea and to both crews who worked on the projects, these guys are fun to work with. In both projects, i did find small spots that were missed or needed touch-ups. These guys just went and grabbed their brushes to address the few little spots I found and then some. I highly recommend Majic Painting. I will surely be calling them again for any future painting needs. read more

We waited a long time to hire a painter for our cedar shingle house, and I had NO IDEA our house could ever look this amazingly good again! The Majic crew was able to get the shingles incredibly clean and then stain them and paint the trim, all in about a week. In some places we have a mix of old and new shingles, and after this paint job they all look beautiful together, with a really uniform color, which I did not think was possible. Also our front porch looks amazing. It is like walking into a new house! The porch was very discolored and stained, with the wood looking black in some areas. Again they got the whole front porch unbelievably clean before staining it. Our house posed a couple of problems, first of all: we have a very steep metal roof with a very high gable at the front and back of the house, with shingles to stain and trim to paint all the way at the top. These guys figured it out and it looks beautiful. Secondly we work from home. Since my husband and I both from home, with clients coming and going throughout the day, the Majic guys were gentlemanly and considerate to each of our clients as they had to pass through their work space. The crew even had to periodically move ladders and equipment, which they did so easily and graciously. Jayson also directed me to Mike Lex, a carpenter who did four needed repairs before the crew could paint, and Mike only charged us for three of those repairs. He was quick and got everything done as the Majic crew was setting up for the day. On the final walk through Jesus was meticulous with details and even took down and cleaned three window screens for me. They had overlooked cleaning and staining one handrail, which they came back to clean and stain just a few days later. We will hire Majic Painting again to power wash and stain our back deck, as well as to do multiple indoor projects in the future. Multiple neighbors have commented on how nice our house looks. I would highly recommend Majic Painting based on my experience, and best of all their price was the most reasonable bid we received after talking with three other companies! The good reviews are true! I am very pleased with the work done by Majic Painting. I was having a really hard time finding painters to work on my rental within a reasonable budget and time frame. The quotes were all over the place, with many of them quoting to do only half the work because they don't do trim work. I could get a low price but I would have to do more than half the work myself. I live in and rent out a 1912 duplex house where one third of the the place is trim! I was getting desperate and frustrated. I love my place, I want both apartments to look good for renters and myself, but I also have a job and needed the place to be done within a certain time frame. Luckily a friend recommended them to me when she heard of my dilemma. I called them right away. Jayson arrived the next day to give me a quote. He was professional and personable, he gave me very good advice from the start, and sent me a comprehensive quote. It covered everything I needed, but also came in at a reasonable price, and within my time frame. The painters arrived on time. Alyssa, the lead, was very professional. Everyone was. The work went rapidly, quietly, efficiently. I am very happy. I was worried about drip work and sloppy details because they said they would only need four days. It looks fabulous. Plate rail, wainscoting, pocket doors. It all looks great! I took advantage of the color consulting service too, and I'm happy I did. It was great! Unfortunately, ultimately, I went with a very vanilla combination for the sake of renting to a diverse pool of renters, but I learned a lot about paint interactions and when it comes to painting my own unit I will feel more prepared. I had a great experience with Jayson & Co. at Majic Painting. Everyone is incredibly friendly, efficient, helpful throughout the entire experience. Also, getting down to brass tax, they do an incredible job at an incredibly fair price. Getting estimates to paint your home can be a daunting task, with estimates ranging anywhere from suspiciously cheap to anxiety inducing expensive. Intuition would lead one to believe that thee is a correlation between price and quality when getting such a varied range of estimates, luckily for the person who chooses Majic Painting, that notion is proven false and you really can have your cake and eat it too. One tip is to make sure to take advantage of their offer for color services. Paint and lighting have a really awkward relationship, fueled by a phenomenon called metamerism. In the painting world, metamerism describes the effect that light has on color that results in changes to the appearance. We thought we had it covered. We went to the paint store, looked at a hundred different examples, flipped through the different examples of rooms on Home Depots computer, took the sample home and painted a couple patches to see how it would dry, but a sample doesn't really reflect what an entire home will look like once it's painted. If we had taken advantage of Jayson's offer for color services, we may not have ended up picking a light gray that ends up picking up a lot of different colors we weren't expected. Next time we will. Here's my story with Majic Painting and it's crew: I've had this nice condo with a beautiful view for just over 11 years and it's only been spot painted here and there. So, it was time to change the so, so... cream color to something with a little more pop yet tasteful. My situation is that I've decided to sell my place since I am now living out of state. I needed someone that I could trust and do quality work at a reasonable price and be able to work around other contractors since I'm offsite. Good contractors in Portland are hard to find especially since the market is quite lively these days and everyone seems to be upgrading and/or remodeling their homes. I called about a dozen painters, some were too busy, some were very expensive, and others didn't seemed to care. When I called Majic Paint, I actually got a live person who got me in touch of the owner Jayson. Even though Jayson's crew was very busy, he was able to fit me in between jobs and get the job done. He did such a great job on the walls that I had his crew do the ceiling as well. They really went the extra mile and performed out of scope of work like fixing some patch work for some of the walls, ceiling and baseboards which included mudding, re-sanding, texturing and then re-painting. I want to give a shout out to their crew: Dave, Alex, Jesus, Izzy and Andrea for coordinating and working around my schedule and especially Jayson for returning and answering my calls and concerns, thank you. I don't typically write reviews, but the crew and experience provided by Majic Painting prompted to do so. I've worked with several contractors on various house we've owned in the past, including house painting, and the quality of the crew and work detail were exceptional. Andrew, Harris and Silviano were onsite performing the work, and Jayson (the owner) did the initial walkthrough and bid the job. Once the skies turned dry and painting season arrived, the crew arrived, prepped, and tackled our home's 15+ year paint job with a vengeance. They chipped, caulked, filled, primed and painted with smiles on their faces and were a pleasure to chat up while on the job. By the end of day 2 they asked me to go around and find any missed spots before they finished up the following day (3300 sq ft late 70's post-and-beam house)... I walked it that evening with a roll of Blue painters tape to mark anything to be fixed the following day. I found MAYBE a dozen small areas, most of which they pointed out they would wrap up the following day... excellent coverage and attention to detail! Upon final completion the third day, the jobsite was clean and they parted, again with smiles on their faces. I walked the jobsite and did a detailed inspection... The quality of edging (cutting), coverage and cleanup were top notch, with 'interior grade' attention to detail. Magic Painting and their amazing crew (Alex, Dave, and Jim) did an outstanding job refreshing our backyard deck. The excellent customer service actually started a year ago when I had Jayson come out to the house and give an estimate. At first, I was surprised at the price, but then saw the amount of detailed work that Magic Painting would put into restoring our deck. I did look around and got some quotes that were both higher and lower, but Jayson's confidence in his team made the difference. When my wife and I budgeted for Magic Painting to come and restore our deck, we were put on the books for a summer job and in between rainy days, the guys came out in a single day (after a previous day of pressure washing) and restored our deck. One thing to mention is that I was unable to move our deck furniture and grill due to a recent Ju Jitsu related neck injury so Jayson's team took care of that for us, too. We did opt for having one of Jayson's team come and help consult with the colors and I'm glad we did. It cost a little bit more, but was well worth it for us knowing that the colors we picked worked well with the brick in our chimney and the color of our siding on the house Impressive company and team and I would definitely have them do work for us in the future. read more

Jason did an excellent job in creating the bids; he gave me two, for two different brands of paint. Several other companies I got bids from told me they only worked with one brand. As it ended up, the body of the house was done with a Miller paint and the trim with Sherwin Williams. I think the old paint was more than 30 years old and it took a lot of prep work; there were places where they scrapped down to bare wood and primed. Most of the siding is rough-sawn T1-11, which is difficult to work with as you can't sand it. Some of the siding had dry-rot near the ground, so about 8" of the siding was replaced. That part of the job was time and materials, because there wasn't any good way to estimate what it would take. Weather being what it is in the Spring, it took a while for them to complete the job; although it only took 3 days of actual labor to do a 2700 sf, tri-level. The house was a dark brown and in the summer sun the walls would hit 145F. We went with a light green and the Miller low sheen's coverage was excellent. The walls this afternoon were around 105F and the inside of the house is noticeably cooler. Getting the place painted was the last step in turning a total dump into something beautiful. read more

After helping fix a water leak under our house below the kitchen sink, Jayson with his ServPro and Majic teams were able to seamlessly transition into rebuilding our kitchen better than it was before. Jayson worked with our insurance adjuster to hammer out a budget and then worked with me on costs to upgrade parts of the kitchen that we were willing to pay extra. His team made it easy to understand what parts of the project I would be paying for out of pocket and which parts were covered by insurance. His team even helped us save money on our countertops by shopping around to find a better product at a lower price. Jayson always responded to my messages in a timely manner and was very open to communicate when we needed to work out any issues, and his positive attitude made it easy to work through potentially stressful situations. In the end, we were able to not only replace but upgrade our flooring, cabinets, countertops, and backsplash to create a kitchen we really love. Jayson and his crew were fantastic! Jayson was very quick in providing us with a bid and responded to emails promptly. Communication was very good. We had our apartment repainted, total of 4 rooms and a hallway. We had to have it done pretty quickly and Jayson accommodated our schedule. The turn-around was super quick, two days! And there were some challenges (stubborn walls). Israel and Jesus were very professional, polite and friendly. They worked hard on making sure the painting was well done. We also had one wall sanded which looked great after, and all the trims and baseboards. They had to put on a few more coats than expected and Jayson was very fair with pricing, he only added a couple of extra man hours and absorbed extra paint cost. We had to have some touch ups done (the apartment is a little dark so it was hard to see it all on the first walk-through). We have a rental property in Portland, and living on the east coast is hard to manage a paint job from this far away. We thought about flying back and trying to manage a "quick turn" when our renter mysteriously disappeared. We got ahold of jayson from Majic Painting, and he became our project manager for the work he did but also for all the other trades that we needed help fixing our place. Majic Painting did a great job painting our home. Interior and exterior. They are the type of company you call when you need the job done right the first time. If you want to try to save money doing it yourself, or hiring the guys at Home Depot (thats how they do it out here), you are probably best going that way. If you want a professional job, at a fair price, by someone who stands behind the work of his crew, give Jayson at majic painting a call. Jayson and his team are fantastic. We hired them to paint four rooms, including kitchen cabinets, on the main level of our newly purchased home. The home was built in 1911, and was not in the best of shape. The painters patched, caulked, sanded, primed, and painted those rooms and cabinets until they gleamed. They finished the job on schedule, and I signed off before they left. My husband, who is perhaps a little more observant, found a few areas that needed attention: a bit of missing paint on the moulding, a rough patch on the wainscoting, things like that. He called Jayson, who could not have been kinder or more accommodating. He came to our house, made note of the areas needing a little extra attention, and scheduled a painter to return a couple of days later. Very pleased with our interior paint job completed by Majic Painting! We had our entry way, living room, dining room, hallway and office painted including all walls, trim, doors, and ceilings, and they finished the job in two days.
