Boy, where do I start? First off, we've painted the interior of houses (either ourselves or hired out to professionals) quite a few houses before this. But this experience was far from professional. There were so many issues, it would be too long of a review to list them all but I'll list some of the terrible highlights. *Poor management/supervision *Terrible process and attention to detail *Prep work was shoddy *Workers left the job site dirty each day and ruined a piece of our brand new carpet *No regard for the fact that we were living and working from the space (the job took 7 days, unnecessarily). *Skill level of workers was mediocre at best *Communication and language deficits *Several times each day we had to do quality control due to dripping paint, missed spots, wrong sheen of paint, using the incorrect color in places---we only had 3 colors. *Misuse of caulk in a large area that needed to be repaired by a professional drywaller. *We paid almost 11k for the work and it wasn't even worth half of that with the quality we got. I contacted JK Paint after seeing their ad on instagram. I have to admit that my initial expectations were low since they sounded too good to be true. Davis showed up professionally dressed and in a logo'd company car, and after a thorough walk though and photos, he had a call with his team back at the shop and I had a binding estimate before he walked out the door. The painters were here for three days this past week, repainting almost all of my interior, including a two story dining room wall. They showed up on time, were always professional, and their project manager Heather also stopped by each day to make sure that work was proceeding and answer any questions I might have. So many times, you run into those who overcommit and underdeliver, who don't meet promised deadlines, who don't even show up when they say they will. It can be so frustrating. NOT THE CASE WITH JK PAINT! The estimate process was efficient and quick. The estimate itself was fair and reasonable compared to other estimates I received. Once I accepted, they had a team on site to begin work right away. The team was very thorough and hard working. They sometimes arrived as early as 7am and kept working until after 9pm! They took the time to do very detailed prep work which is the key to an outstanding paint job. They were careful to cover all of my stuff well so that there was no damage to other items in my home. They took the time to ensure my paint job was best in class. He has a great eye and was able to point out things that I missed and did a fantastic job. He helped me on color recommendations and ideas on the best way to make things look great. He painted my outside stairs and took it upon himself to come back and redo them when rain came unexpectedly and the stairs had not dried yet. Joe, Carlos and the team did an outstanding job on our 100 year old craftsman.The job required painting a 3000 sq ft house and free standing garage, building new entry stairs, fixing a fair amount of drywall, replacing siding, and reinforcing our side deck. Since we had lead paint lead- abatement gear was also necessary. It was a huge project and took almost 3 weeks- and we are thrilled with the outcome. We chose 5 colors and it turned out perfectly. We had one small issue that popped up and it was fixed within a week. The bid was right on- we knew it would be an expensive project and were willing to pay the have the work done right. I found Joe because I saw his crew working on a neighbors paint job and could tell they were doing a good job- doing trim work by hand. Since we have a small child opted to go out of town for part of the project because of the lead. We had to move 4 rose bushes and the crew watered them after they were transplanted while we were away and all 4 of my prized roses are still thriving. Prior to the exterior job Joe and his team painted the downstairs interior of my home- which is complicated because we have original woodwork-box ceilings, wainscoting and lots of little nooks and crannies. They did the work while we were out of town- it was so nice to have trusted professionals working on our home and coming home to a finished project. After living in the house now for ~ 2 months I'm changing the review. We've noticed several spots that were missed / leaked, and after having them come over 2 times for additional touch ups we are still finding spots / issues. There are two closets where the ceiling was just not painted. Also, at the time they mentioned the trim was in decent shape and they didn't think it needed to be done. We are currently about to do it because it looks so bad against the painted walls. We definitely saved thousands of dollars by going with JK, so from a price / value standpoint they are solid, but if you want top quality, we now understand you have to pay more for it read more

JK Paint completed the interior painting on a house we had just purchased. The four team crew worked steadily and professionally. They prepared the walls really well. There were some settling cracks on the high ceilings they repaired and they taped a lot of trim work and doors to make certain the lines were crisp. I appreciated that the estimator worked with us to get an estimate to us before we were even able to get the keys by looking at the information on the real estate agency site. That made it possible for us to get on the schedule within a couple of days of closing. The entire experience was a breeze and the end product beautiful. I have a very tall house. Like you need to be Spider-man or the Last Son of Krypton to feel comfortable getting on the roof, let alone painting it. JK came out, had an extremely competitive bid, used excellent materials, had professional workers and did a great job. They not only painted, but replaced old caulking and resealed windows and seems. When they were done, they had to let the front door dry and took the weather sealing off the door jam. I thought I was going to replace it, but they showed up the next day and put the sealing back! JK painted our 107 year old farmhouse. Our old paint was peeling and our all wood siding including cedar shake was starting to fall apart. I knew I wanted to use JK because of the amazing reviews they get, and because they are truly a local Newberg company with roots in the community. I got a couple bids and due to the complexity of our job, JK was a bit out of my budget. We wanted 3 colors and our two outbuildings painted to match. JK was able to work with me and we ended up going with them. The process took nearly two weeks- but was well worth the time. Our job was not a simple one and they repaired trim, sanded, and filled in on the nail holes and imperfections that plagued the look of our home. They were perfectionistic with the level of detail and ultimately the end product was absolutely stunning. The transformation to our home and property honestly takes people's breath away. As a do it yourselfer I don't typically enjoy paying for and watching people do work on my behalf- but JK has truly changed that. I would highly recommend! We used this business to paint the exterior of our home including a shed as well as 3 exterior doors, two of which were were metal surfaces. I have already recommended this company to others and plan on using them again in the future: Pros: - Quick appointment for a bid and the bid also came quickly. It wasn't the cheapest but very reasonable - All the contract stuff was handled in a very friendly and professional manner (email contract, clear line items, etc.) - The quality of work was top notch and boy were they fast! (3.5 days to power wash, prep and paint a 3000 sqft home plus outside structure plus doors) - Whenever I called, they answered the phone using my name. Nice! - On time. Worth saying since some companies have problems with this. - The did a walk-through on the final day of work as well as a week later to ensure our satisfaction. - There was one spot that needed touching up that was minor and they were diligent in making sure we were happy, even though I told them it was unnecessary. Definitely going above and beyond! - I'm so shocked and impressed how the metal doors came out. I've had other painters say they couldn't do it but these guys did and their attention to detail and quality is incredible. - Thoughtful and earnest follow-ups on their work. I can tell they take pride in what they do. Cons: - We were scheduled in August and I realize the summer is very busy, so the team that worked with us was sub-contracted out. They were exceptional but I felt like the communication broke down because of it. For instance, no one told us we couldn't open our garage for 48 hours after painting so when we did, the paint began to peel. With that said, the team immediately took ownership of what happened and fixed it right away.
