Travis Lee, Manuel Jauregui, the entire paint crew, and office personnel were professional, easily answered questions, effortlessly made corrections, ensured the paint crews safety, they were respectful of our home and of my personal schedule, and collaborated well with another contractor that was on-site at the same time. They did, and have always produced quality work. The cost was on par with other estimates, and I appreciated the option to finance half of the project cost. Looking up from the lower yard and just imagining being way up there on a ladder with all your painting gear- and now you have to produce results!!! I really have mixed feelings about this company. I had my house painted and an exterior door replaced. The people who did the painting were great and the guy who replaced the door was very good, thorough and honest. But the painting side of the business and the construction side of the business do not talk to each other and it was a bit frustrating. Case in point, construction had to delay the door instillation a few days from the scheduled time. Painting was complete except for painting the new door. Painting showed up to paint the new door but wasn't aware it hadn't been installed as scheduled. Once the job had been completed, no one from the company contacted me to ask how satisfied I was with the work. But the office, omg, apparently painting and construction bill separately and trying to talk to someone that really understands how billing/finance works...good luck. I decided to make use of their 12 month free financing and that process has been challenging to say the least. It's almost as if they don't want to talk to you. read more

Hi all, Wanted to post about my recent project with Fitzpatrick Painting and Construction out of Albany. Here is what happened on our job. Prep day: During Prep removing a old awning beam hit the New light I had put up attached to the house. While it was tightened back down still does not sit flush with the all any longer. I had a bush and a new Rose Bush planted out front, trimmed and away from the house. They ensured me it would be covered. After work was done they both got paint on them and the rose bush sustained damage. (I did clean it up so the photo below makes it not seem so bad). The original house numbers were lost, even though they did replace them I consider this a lack off attention to detail. The biggest issue was after work was done. You give them a cashier check/cash or card on prep day for 50 percent. I gave this to them and the lead for the project lost it. They did process the balance check after work was done. (I did find out they deposited it but did not credit account) I saw on my account page with Fitzpatrick payment past due which was wrong I had paid in full. I would not hire them again. I do have some praise for the crew though. Despite the issue with the bushes they did listen to my questions and quickly resolved any questions I had. Good job patching the warn fascia. The senior painter who did our door was super painter man. I don't have permission to use his name but wish him the best in retirement. Suggestions: 1. Have better payment record systems in place, if payment first day with cash or check some sort of receipt system. Note you can pay with card but will pay a fee to do so by the payment processor. 2. If plants need protection take the time to do so, My bush and rose will recover over time some home owners may not be so kind. 3. My project did not have a lead on site during work, only start of day one when paint came and final wrap up before final walk. While there was a former lead it was not his job to review and manage the team. 4. Finally own any issues. Home owners need to know if there was a problem like the light. I do not know if it was ever recorded anywhere but I did share my concern with the lead on the final day. Please not I did not plan to review this project because the owner takes pride in his company. It was ultimately the lost payment issue that pushed me to this review. I feel he will take his company to the next level as they continue to grow. I have seen other projects done and they all look great from the curb. For that reason I still gave them a 3 with room to grow. PS If the guy that painted my front door retires and needs a little work I do have some interior paint I am looking at in the future. read more

I got an estimate for about $1200 to paint a room. It seems that they have a lower rate during the winter if you're looking to get a deal. Devon performed the estimation and was very thorough and polite. Rick and Grace did a great job on the painting itself. The room has a lot of unique features and odd corners which they handled well. Overall it's a very clean paint job. They were also responsive to my feedback and quickly fixed up a hole that I forgot to mention earlier. If something didn't look right then I could just ask and they would fix it up. I had a good experience and will likely hire them again to perform more painting work. read more

I talked with Abraham and he coordinated the work to fit into my short timeframe.Their estimator, Jesse, gave me an on- the- spot estimate and the company scheduled the paint and repair of cracks. Later Miles and Markus completed the initial repair work and Miles informed me that their company did carpentry as well so I was able to get crown molding repaired and painted as well. This company took advantage of me, a senior citizen, and got me to sign a contract for 95/Hr. to paint my front door and the trim around it. They first guy screwed around and ran up the bill and his boss had to finish the job. The total came to $2523.46 for what should be a simple job. We hired Fitzpatrick to paint the exterior of ourcraftsman home in 2017 due to all the good reviews. We paid them a little over $11,000. We had some issues after it was painted with bubbling which they did come out to fix. However we asked them to come back out again due to issues and the person who came out said they would only do it at our cost he said they would not warranty over horizontal or existing paint. So pretty much their warranty is worthless. My husband had put brand new wood on a column on my front porch beforehand and it is also peeling. They DID NOT primer in some areas. And when My husband asked the person that came out the second time and pointed this out he said um yeah I guess they should have done that... As you can tell by the photos it is not holding up well. The issues with sketchy people In some of the other reviews is accurate. I would never use this company again terrible experience. read more

I hired them to do interior painting including kitchen. Mike Green, the original estimater, did not know what he was talking about. I ended having to replace all of my kitchen fronts, for an additional $6000. their painters were unprofessional, communicated poorly with each other and poured paint down my new kitchen sink and in my toilet. Do not hire this company!!!!! They contract out for everything and who they hire is questionable. I was always polite, but it ended up my word against theirs, and they were always right. read more

Charged me too much for fairly sloppy work compared to other paint companies I've hired. There's a whole list of issues. Basically they didn't do what was agreed upon in writing. I attempted to get them to properly fix issues but they didnt do some and some not well. They're apparently not the type of firm you can hire and leave them alone to do a good job. However the crew was polite. I think they were mostly apprentices or new. So maybe they used my small 1970's home as a training tool. I'm not hopeful for a good ending to my issues, but feel I should not have to work so hard to remedy their sloppy work on my home. Im not rich and powerful enough. So disappointed. Beware. read more

I suppose if I was representing a company, I might also respond to a negative review saying splendid things about my company. I would also offer an apology, but maybe that would be admitting that the poor review is valid. Trouble is, those things that Trisha M. says just aren't true. To be sure, there must be good and bad teams within this company because some reviews are five stars and many are one star. Only one review currently is in between. One of the five-star reviews was actually from Trisha M. I reported that to Yelp as it's a violation of their terms of service; it has been removed, but there's still a note that it was removed for violating terms of service (the link to other reviews not currently recommended is at the bottom of the page). I also reported another reviewer who is an employee that gave five stars, and that also was removed. Employees of a company can't post Yelp reviews for their employer. In the response to my review, the office manager wrote, "We put our customers first in everything we do," and she wrote, "We do what we say we will." That was not my experience nor my friends. Apparently not other folks who have reviewed this company either. There was no acknowledgement of my experience. She basically said it didn't happen. She wrote, "We encourage personal and professional growth," and "We communicate clearly with our customers and our team." I have no idea how they encourage growth, and I will assume that's a true statement. I have no idea how they communicate with their team, but they sure fail with communications to their customers! She wrote, "We portray a neat, clean, and professional image at all times." Great -- just what I need; an image. Wait. Actually I need a good paint job done. I don't care what image your crew portrays if they do good work, don't damage anything, clean up their mess, and complete the job in a timely manner. She wrote "We always out-service our competition." Excuse me while I wipe the tears out of my eyes. I was laughing so hard. Really? OK, I did not plan to respond to the company's response of my review. My review was spot-on. I figured most people could figure out that the company's response was merely lip service. No problem. However; I got a private message asking for me to meet with the owner to "discuss my 1-star review". Nope. Too late. No third chance. My job wasn't done right, and the second strike was my friend. No third strike. You won't have me as a customer ever again, and I will share my experience with anyone who asks. The private message seemed, at least to me, as coercive. It made me feel a little harassed by the company and that they would like to encourage me to upgrade my review. I let Yelp know that this might be a violation of terms of service. To avoid further harassment, I suppose the best thing I can do is block any further messages from Trisha M. I would request that other employees of Fitzpatrick please don't bother to try to contact me. I don't want any further contact! read more
