I got an estimate for about $1200 to paint a room. It seems that they have a lower rate during the winter if you're looking to get a deal. Devon performed the estimation and was very thorough and polite. Rick and Grace did a great job on the painting itself. The room has a lot of unique features and odd corners which they handled well. Overall it's a very clean paint job. They were also responsive to my feedback and quickly fixed up a hole that I forgot to mention earlier. They first guy screwed around and ran up the bill and his boss had to finish the job. The total came to $2523.46 for what should be a simple job. We hired Fitzpatrick to paint the exterior of ourcraftsman home in 2017 due to all the good reviews. We paid them a little over $11,000. We had some issues after it was painted with bubbling which they did come out to fix. However we asked them to come back out again due to issues and the person who came out said they would only do it at our cost he said they would not warranty over horizontal or existing paint. So pretty much their warranty is worthless. My husband had put brand new wood on a column on my front porch beforehand and it is also peeling. They DID NOT primer in some areas. And when My husband asked the person that came out the second time and pointed this out he said um yeah I guess they should have done that... As you can tell by the photos it is not holding up well. The issues with sketchy people In some of the other reviews is accurate. I would never use this company again terrible experience. read more

I hired them to do interior painting including kitchen. Mike Green, the original estimater, did not know what he was talking about. I ended having to replace all of my kitchen fronts, for an additional $6000. their painters were unprofessional, communicated poorly with each other and poured paint down my new kitchen sink and in my toilet. Do not hire this company!!!!! They contract out for everything and who they hire is questionable. I was always polite, but it ended up my word against theirs, and they were always right. read more

Charged me too much for fairly sloppy work compared to other paint companies I've hired. There's a whole list of issues. Basically they didn't do what was agreed upon in writing. I attempted to get them to properly fix issues but they didnt do some and some not well. They're apparently not the type of firm you can hire and leave them alone to do a good job. However the crew was polite. I think they were mostly apprentices or new. So maybe they used my small 1970's home as a training tool. I'm not hopeful for a good ending to my issues, but feel I should not have to work so hard to remedy their sloppy work on my home. Im not rich and powerful enough. So disappointed. Beware. read more

Rain was projected for Friday, and they wanted to complete the job prior to it raining. The crew arrived early and worked into the evening. I suppose if I was representing a company, I might also respond to a negative review saying splendid things about my company. I would also offer an apology, but maybe that would be admitting that the poor review is valid. Trouble is, those things that Trisha M. says just aren't true. To be sure, there must be good and bad teams within this company because some reviews are five stars and many are one star. Only one review currently is in between. One of the five-star reviews was actually from Trisha M. I reported that to Yelp as it's a violation of their terms of service; it has been removed, but there's still a note that it was removed for violating terms of service (the link to other reviews not currently recommended is at the bottom of the page). I also reported another reviewer who is an employee that gave five stars, and that also was removed. Employees of a company can't post Yelp reviews for their employer. In the response to my review, the office manager wrote, "We put our customers first in everything we do," and she wrote, "We do what we say we will." That was not my experience nor my friends. Apparently not other folks who have reviewed this company either. There was no acknowledgement of my experience. She basically said it didn't happen. She wrote, "We encourage personal and professional growth," and "We communicate clearly with our customers and our team." I have no idea how they encourage growth, and I will assume that's a true statement. I have no idea how they communicate with their team, but they sure fail with communications to their customers! She wrote, "We portray a neat, clean, and professional image at all times." Great -- just what I need; an image. Wait. Actually I need a good paint job done. I don't care what image your crew portrays if they do good work, don't damage anything, clean up their mess, and complete the job in a timely manner. She wrote "We always out-service our competition." Excuse me while I wipe the tears out of my eyes. I was laughing so hard. Really? OK, I did not plan to respond to the company's response of my review. My review was spot-on. I figured most people could figure out that the company's response was merely lip service. No problem. However; I got a private message asking for me to meet with the owner to "discuss my 1-star review". Nope. Too late. No third chance. My job wasn't done right, and the second strike was my friend. No third strike. You won't have me as a customer ever again, and I will share my experience with anyone who asks. The private message seemed, at least to me, as coercive. It made me feel a little harassed by the company and that they would like to encourage me to upgrade my review. I let Yelp know that this might be a violation of terms of service. To avoid further harassment, I suppose the best thing I can do is block any further messages from Trisha M. I would request that other employees of Fitzpatrick please don't bother to try to contact me. I don't want any further contact! read more

We found this company at the Eugene Home Show and asked them to come to our home for an estimate on a kitchen renovation. The estimator came on time and was pleasant, but was unprepared to work with us and said he'd ask his cabinet guy to call us and set up a time to see our home and give us an estimate. We have never received a call back from anyone at the company. I left a message at the office and still were not contacted. I would be hesitant to use this company for any work if they aren't able to follow through better than this. (Just to note: our house was clean, we are polite people and really excited to do this project. We think our job might not have been big enough for them to bother with. Due to covid I didn't use a gift certificate I'd won in an auction and it expired. I emailed twice, the first time only two weeks after the certificate expiration date. I got no response. I then called and it took them 3 more business days to finally get back to me. The gentleman informed me they had 'plenty of work' and would not honor the gift certificate even though covid delayed my use of it. (I care for my 80 yo mom and could risk having someone in my home). I could understand if there wasn't a pandemic going on but MANY businesses have made concessions during this time. Fitzpatrick Construction was called to replace the landings on the 2nd floors of our apartments in front of the tenants doorways. The Lead contractor was knowledgeable and supervised his apprentice's work each day. They discovered further damage that was not visible at first and made the necessary repairs. Some of the repairs will need to be rescheduled due to their existing commitments, understandably. They kept me up to date and involved along the way, cleaned up afterwards and were professional. The person who viewed the job and drafted the Proposal was not the same person that came to do the job. Two delays later, work begins. Thus comes confusion and lack of communication; wrong material, wrong size material and who knows what else. So I requested an corrected Proposal . . . still waiting . . . The construction crew is highly recommended, estimator, not so much. read more

Review edited. One day after posting a one star review for Fitzpatrick Painting, I received a phone call from Tim, the owner. He was clearly concerned with the review that was received and was genuine in his desire to understand the nature of where his company has fallen short. Tim is clearly desirous to lead his business with humility and to make happy customers, and acknowledged the deficits that have been witnessed by me as an unsatisfied customer. What strikes me most, is that there were no excuses made for the poor service, but rather a desire to know how he and his team can improve their customer service and business. This is the cornerstone for excellent customer service from the owners' office. It is clear that with an employee base of more than 75 people, it is difficult to make everyone happy. We all have off days at work, at home, etc. and this is where grace comes in. I stand firm on my review of one star for Tim's business' customer service, but Tim gets five stars for customer care, follow up and humility. One can hope that these characteristics will be modeled by his employees who are a louder, stronger voice of the business, and will make it shine, or tarnish the name with their work ethic and actions. This business has had significant potential in the Mid Willamette Valley area, and has attempted to establish itself as a household go-to painting/carpentry/construction company. In March of 2021, I contacted their carpentry/cabinetry refinishing professionals. They arrived and were attentive to our verbalized remodel plans, and promised a bid for cabinet refinishing. THEY NEVER SENT A BID, nor responded after our meeting in our home. We hired a different contractor for our project due to lack of follow through. In fall 2021, we again reached out for gutter cleaning, moss treatment and moss removal. The project was started sooner than we had anticipated, and we were happy to have the work done. After the first day of work, the gutters were cleaned, and moss treatment was applied. Due to time constraints, the foreman, Jed, indicated that the remainder of the work would be completed later that week. The roof was left unfinished, and filthy rags were left on our roof...FOR A MONTH. I finally called to request that the rags be removed, and to see if the job could be completed. They arrived the next day, and performed the moss removal...right into our newly cleaned gutters, which were immediately loaded up with moss after we had just had the gutters cleaned. After this debacle, there was no communication from the crew when they were done to indicate that their services were complete. No emails, no snail mail communications. In mid December, I received a voicemail indicating that I have a past- due bill for services rendered. I indicated that I had not received a single bill, and shared my dissatisfaction with the way in which this service was carried out. I agreed to pay the amount agreed upon, but got a response from TJ, the customer care coordinator that my comments would be "reviewed" for quality improvement efforts. I didn't ask for a price adjustment and I didn't refuse to pay, but this business has no concept of customer service. Follow through has repeatedly proven to be lacking, and their billing department clearly doesn't communicate with their workers. SEEK SERVICES ELSEWHERE. read more
