    Salmon tartrine

Came here on a Saturday morning and was happy to see no wait for a table (rare win!). Such a cute café... if you just want coffee, you can head straight to the back counter, but we sat down for breakfast. We got two iced lattes and two salmon tartines. The coffee was smooth and not watered down, which I appreciate. The tartine hit the spot and is probably one of my favorite breakfast dishes in Lakeview. fresh-tasting cream cheese, salmon seasoned with herbs, and a little side salad that actually made it feel like a wholesome breakfast. The bread was toasted just right: sturdy but not too crunchy, so we could eat it with a fork and knife without sawing through it. Overall, super solid spot for a cozy, filling breakfast and I definitely want to come back!

3.5 - I got the pistachio latte and the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The food and the drink itself was not bad at all and the ambience inside the restaurant was super cute and cozy. I think we're this place really fell short is the service. They were nice enough I guess but not the most friendly. I also think the food was a bit overpriced for what it was. It was a cute vibe, but I don't think I would recommend to a friend nor would I really go again.

Vibe: This is a really cute French place with enjoyable airy ambiance and very popular on the weekends. They have outdoor seating. Food: I got the burger which was listed as one of their menu speciality. It's a very, very good $20 burger. Bread, patty, cheese were cooked perfectly and very savory, everything just goes so well together. Came with potatoes or a salad option. Potatoes were good, not great. I went to the bathroom and left my boxed leftover potatoes behind It's brunch so I got coffee, the brew of the day, which was very weak for my preference. No refills. Service: So for service, the waitress was very sweet but a few of us in the big group had a bit of a wait for our food or drink, when everyone else was almost done eating. I think they are very short staffed. Parking: Parking is a 7 day affair, $5 for two hour parking. A short walk.

Loved the vibes. Went for brunch and got a latte, glad to see they had multiple milk alternative options. Their quiche was fantastic but my favorite was their pastry of the day. A Divine eggnog croissant!

Ugh I love the vibes of this beautiful French restaurant. They have a wide variety of food I had the hardest time choosing from the menu. Overall, food was delicious. I highly recommend the chicken burger!! It was a home run meal. The server made everything 10x better! He was so sweet.

The cutest breakfast spot/cafe ever! So so aesthetic with all the plants and cute chairs. The service was so so amazing and our server was really endearing and nice! Truly the most gorgeous vibes and a girl brunch! Our server also gave us a 10% discount. The chicken burger came with such well seasoned and crispy potatoes, and I loved the caramelized onions. The croque monsieur was delicious!! Absolutely obsessed with the Gruyère cheese on top, the thinly sliced ham, and the bechamel sauce. Truly could've eaten 17 more of these! The salad was also so fresh!

The reviews explain a lot, when we entered no one was at the front and the sign pointing us to the back wasn't very visible. As others came in, they were just as confused. We ordered a coffee and pastry. The coffee was fine but the pastry didn't taste the most fresh even though we arrived relatively early in the morning. They also didn't warm it up. The staff putting the coffee out also didn't call any name, they just silently put the coffee and the receipt end out. You had to make your way through others to read if the order was yours (a bit odd).

Great location and warm cozy atmosphere. The environment, staff and food does give a feel that you are close to France. Pastries are excellent. Croissants and twists are flaky on the outside and so soft and fluffy on the inside. The salads are all very good, decent portions, prices and fresh ingredients not overly salty with right amount of dressing. Soups are excellent. Basically everything was good or great. Staff are friendly and the service was on point. One concern is the use of styrofoam, so there is a negative for environment friendliness.

Smoked salmon tartine and brussel sprout tartine

Will never be over the tartines! No really, I think about the brussel sprout bruschetta constantly. It's that good. The smoked salmon tartine is also very delicious, but the true star of the show is the brussel sprout. I've also been here for breakfast (though I'm more of a brunch gal) and love their selection of lattes. Their crepes and parfait granola are also favorites. Plus, who doesn't love a sweet treat?! Their macarons are way yummy. The interior here is gorgeous. Photo worthy truly. I also like that they offer outdoor seating when the weather is nice. My one knock is that service can sometimes be slow, so if you're in a rush, this may not be the place for you.

Super cute French bakery and restaurant. Loved the laid back but nice decor. The food was all great, the service was timely and friendly. It seemed as though all the staff were French as well which was cool! We split the almond croissant (incredible), my dad and boyfriend both got the French omelette, and I got the ratatouille. We all joined the clean plate club :)

It's hard to ignore this spot, hard as I try primarily because the food items are just soso. It is however to beautiful to behold. Outside and especially inside. That alone is worth the visit(see pics). There is however one thing that is heavenly in this place and that is the Lavender Coffee. Also the crew parle Francais as a Francophile what more can you ask for? Did I mention it's pretty as a postcard? It's also dog friendly.

This restaurant is stunning! I've been meaning to come by and visit for a while now but haven't been able to since they close at 4 but I'm so glad I got to try it! We got the kale salad (with two extra eggs) as well as a ratatouille split between three of us and it was chef's kiss. The food was delicious and fresh, we basically cleared out our plates. Our server was attentive and we got seated very quickly despite it being a full house and no reservation. The restaurant is lively and the vibes do remind me of when I visited Paris. Love love love!

The food was excellent! And I am very picky but the bread the sauces were way above the average! 5 starts! Will be back soon!the service was also great! 5 stars! And the ambiance, simple but cozy.

With a cozy locals vibe, there was a mix of young professionals on laptops and families starting the morning. The bright aesethics of Mexican heritage and decor celebrating local artists make the space inspiring and energizing. The coffee was great. I got the horchata latte, which tasted even better than I hoped. I also ordered a El Chavo Torta, a deceptively simple sandwich that was incredibly delicious. I don't know what they put in the bread or what magical place they bought the cheese from, but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. When I'm in Chicago again, La Malinche is on my list of must visit spots.

The staff were really welcoming, for an early morning. I got the hot chocolate. Honestly that's exactly what I needed that morning. It had that real Mexican chocolate taste. Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. I finished it slow. Didn't wanna rush it. Just sat there taking small sips and enjoying it while it was still hot.

Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. This is the place you bring people close to you, business lunches, meetings, formal ir informal, or like me, save it for myself as my own getaway spot.
