Food wasn't bad, but bad customer service along with racist staff is definitely a problem

When I die; bury me here -- straight the fuck up. Just lift up the dart machine that ate my money…read moreand stuff me under it for all I care. This is paradise. The air? Filled with FREE cigarette smoke. The crowd? My people. The ambiance? Top tier. The drinks? To die for. The vibes? Immaculate. Any lantern flies? Not in here, but probably 20-30,000 in the surrounding area because they've seemed to completely take over the area. Dean and I were talking and we think we found a 4 step solution to getting rid of the lantern flies. Step 1. Release toads to eat the lantern flies. Step 2. Release Iguanas to eat the toads. Step 3. Release alligators to eat the iguanas. Step 4. Release an influx of Cajun men in the area to handle the gators. Back to the review: From the moment we swung those doors open and got hit with a metric ton of Marlboro Red smoke, I KNEW this night was going to be the night of my life. We came here on Karaoke night and I truthfully don't know what we all did in our last lives to be this fortunate, but whatever it was - it paid dividends on this faithful night. Great entertainment, great drinks, and even more important, great people (especially the guy who was telling me about his 50 year high school reunion that took place earlier that day that was borderline sucking my neck with how close he was talking to me). ONLY way the night could've gotten better is if I could've met this "Joe" and had a Spam Martini with him and chopped it up a bit. I WILL be back, and I'm confident in saying you'll have to pry me out of the fuckin' place the next time I am, because I'm not gonna willingly leave -- this place rules.

Not to mention, they offer semi-strong long islands for $4 all day, It's sort of a premixed concoction that's just okay in my opinion. Nothing to rave about...but enough to lure you in for price and continue to get you in for more libation. lol Lefty's is a nice and fun hangout spot for friends for sure.and a great way to get into the mix of Pittsburgh natives (people from the surrounding area). The bar is a pretty narrow space and gets packed pretty quickly, but it is a great space to watch sports and chat with people. There is not a lot of seating space as the space is relatively small, but it is still comfortable while standing. Although crowded, the bartenders are quick and efficient with drink orders. If only they sold food, this spot would be perfect. However, there are several shops and restaurants along the strip to grab a bite to eat. In all, cool little dive bar in the heart of the Strip District of Pittsburgh. Also a great vibe and place to meet up with friends for a few drinks or a pit stop while site seeing the downtown area. Stop by, get in and fit into the vibe of this place. It's fun and good times.

Thursday was a mixed crowd, good music, and you can order food near by and bring it in. Friday evening, came the regulars. Which means those who don't prefer out of towners. So I'm good on Lefty's on Friday night. I need good energy around me always. TV's with the games, upstairs and downstairs seating area. Small patio. If you go, go early, when the old heads are there.

The P-Bar is my hometown bar, and I have been coming here for longer than I can remember. My…read morefriends and I would come in high school on Thursdays for $1 Burger Nights (no longer around, RIP), and now we come to enjoy some drinks on the patio and hang out. The bar is located in a strip of stores along Old Clairton Road, just off of route 51. There is some parking in the front that is shared with all the other businesses, and then a parking lot across Old Clairton that gets used at night when the businesses that it is for are closed. Additionally, there is a private lot for the bar in the back, and parking at the Bill Green Shopping Center just a little ways down the road (sidewalks from Bill Green to the bar entrance). Due to a fire that occurred here a few years ago, the entire place has recently been remodeled and reoriented from how it was originally. The bar is now in the back, and the main dining room is in the front. There is also a great patio and outdoor space with open air seating, as well as some area under a porch. Everything is new, clean, and modern as a result of the remodel. On this visit, we came to hang out on a Saturday evening. It was raining, so we had to get a table inside. It was karaoke night, as they have each Saturday, so we got to take in the sights and sounds of several performers. Since we were there later in the evening, we just ordered appetizers to much on along with our drinks. I got the Fiesta Street Corn Dip. It was a great value for the price, and there was a ton to go around the whole table. I also sipped on a Summer Shandy from their seasonal draft list. Overall, the food menu has a decent selection, all at very reasonable prices. The draft list did not have any red or brown ales on it, but there was still a fair selection of drinks. The ladies who came around to our table were pleasant and helpful. It was rather crowded, but there would be times we would not see a server for extended periods of time. I do not think it helped that our table was tucked back in a corner, but wish we would have been visited on a somewhat more frequent basis to put additional orders in. I always have a good time at the P-Bar, and enjoy coming here. Especially in the summer, it is an ideal place to hang out and catch up with friends. And likely, if you are from the area, you will run into several people you know. I did not have their breakfast this time, but the breakfast they have on the weekends is worth a try as well!
