It's not kabobs as mentioned on menu & as in traditional Greek souvlaki ! It's grilled marinated chicken, lettuce, tomato & sweet purple onion on a pita. It's a salad. Okay, it was three and a half years ago I wrote my 2 star review; and being semi-chastised by the manager for complaining about my burnt bacon lol. As noted in my previous review I would return here if invited, and I was. This time I ordered their breakfast sandwich with, you guessed it, bacon! To be precise the sandwich had scrambled eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese (you can choose your cheese type) on sourdough bread. The bread was grilled, allowing the cheese to be melted. I chose the hash browns as my side order. The sandwich was big, the eggs were fluffy and there was enough bacon (not burnt) included to taste in every bite. The hash browns were well done, not greasy and cooked through. A little salt & pepper and they were good to go. I was very satisfied with my breakfast this go around, as well as the service, thus bumping my review up to a 4 star rating (good). I believe I WILL eat here again in the future, probably in less than a three and a half year interval. When I do I'll evaluate it again and change it if need be. read more

I've eaten here twice this week, for breakfast & lunch. I must say, they have the nicest waitresses you will ever meet. Their food is incredible (especially stuffed French toast omg) & they LOVE children. I brought my 1 year old daughter with me, & both days they gave her a stuffed animal. How sweet is that? Wow. All I can say is this breakfast nook took me way back to the good old times. The best service from not only our server but everyone employee around was so nice. The kitchen was close to our table, and my toddler got up and waved to the cook and the cook smiled and waved back. It was so friendly, such a warm and comforting environment. The building is older and it seems like this cafe has been there for ever which makes it so "homey". The food was delicious! Large portions and filling. Vegetarian omelet was delicious, the Greek omelet was so good, with potatoes that were house made. Biscuits and gravy delicious. The pancake was so good! French toast, on point! Main Street Cafe is exactly what you'd expect from a cafe in a town like Fallbrook and then some. Came by for Lunch on a Saturday and the place was packed, luckily there was one last open table. It is a bit of a squeeze, but nothing too uncomfortable. The menu has a diverse selection of breakfast, grilled, fried, and wrapped lunch items. The Kids meals are a great value, perhaps one of the best in North County San Diego. The Kid burgers were adult size and come with a drink and side of fries ( or other stuff). This make the Main Street Cafe a compelling place to check out if you have a family. The best item, and unfortunate the most difficult to eat was the Greek wrap. There was too much dressing inside which made it a wet mess. At some point you just bail out and make it a salad. The "Greek" part of this wrap was one of the best tasting I've had in San Diego. Maybe next time I'll just order the Greek Salad. I ordered the Market Street Sandwich which was tomato, bacon, cheese, avocado, mushrooms, and sprouts in-between toasted sourdough. Gutsy to put sprouts in a grilled sandwich but it was interesting. The sandwich was filling and the avocados were very fresh and delicious. - Overall this was a great visit and recommended for a pre-hike meal. This was my first visit to Main Street Cafe in Fallbrook, CA. The first comment of this cafe is....wonderful! As you travel down S. Main Ave you enter into the older part of Fallbrook. The appreciation by seeing the older buildings spread out on both sides of the street and people conducting businesses with appreciation. On the left hand side of Main Ave, there sits a cute and quaint east coast style tiny building. A tiny fence embraces a few table and chairs to enjoy your meal. As you step into the building, the people who work there say hello and you enter into a time capsule. It takes you back to a time of a grandmas kitchen in the country. A very simple inviting environment. Don't expect fine china, fancy silverware or crystal glasses. It's a wonderful comfy hometown restaurant that shines way above any fancy place. I watched the interaction between the staff and customers and it was warm, respectful and gratefulness. There were five customers that arrived at different times and the staff knew them by name. First time coming here and just have to say that this place is okay. My boyfriend ordered a skillet which was really good, but the side of biscuits & gravy lacked flavor and was barely warm. I ordered the French toast with the filling but have to say I was really disappointed. There was barely any filling, and the French toast was really eggy and chewy. Besides the food, the place has a cozy feel to it. Something that I recommend to management is wiping down the menus because when I touched them they were extremely sticky with pieces of food on it.
