Mike is just the best. Fair and honest. I wont go anywhere else. Highly recommend. Hard to find a truly honest car shop

Mike, the wonderous nice owner, put off looking into my car's wheel that was making a strange rubbing sound when i drove. Main street put it off for two weeks. Then their dude did a one half ass hour look into it , told me it was done. I picked up my car after being 2 weeks at the shop, one hour to look at it , nothin wrong with it. Come n get it. Som bichin tire cracked off the arm ON THE WAY HOME!!! almost crashed. People pulled over to check on me. It was Trump/ Bidens 3rd debate that night. cold as f. dark . I waited 3 hours for a tow. Progressive told me to tow it to Marhoffer Collision. They replaced arm, tie rod, gimpy cracked part of the inner wheel. Replaced the entire wheel, tire, damaged lines. And Progressive paid for a loaner . 4 days later my car was done well, and right. Now Mike gave me honest advice. He said my car was rotting out and i should get my car to not pass the emissions testing, so i would only have to pay $.300.00 to fix my problem. Otherwise id have to pay a huge amount ....and i appreciated that. Until my tire cracked off in heavy traffic at 430pm on Darrow Rd. read more

WHERES THE 6 STAR BUTTON??? I have been here like 15 times because my car is so old. Everytime, consistently, Mike ensures I get the best deal possible and I know for a fact he is 100% honest. They take such good care of my car every time. My dad is even blown away by their quality of service and told me I should give them a gift basket. My dad is not easy to impress! I'm not one to leave reviews but I'm *shook* everytime by the quality of the people and service here. They deserve all the business!!! I always recommend this place to my friends because and say it's the best place in Kent by a long shot. Go Main Auto!!! read more

Shop owner Mike is a great guy. I felt like I was treated honestly and fairly, prices were more than reasonable. Be sure to call or schedule an appointment, as a great mechanic his shop seems to be regularly busy and pretty booked up. read more

Our daughter goes to school locally and needed fair and trustworthy auto service. She went to a national chain and was told that her car needed over $1200 worth of repairs. After researching other options, we discovered Main Street Auto and were blown away by their kindness, fairness and great service! It's nice to know that there are still people who focus on great customer service! read more

They were recommended to me by a person at Kent State. I went in to have my brake rotor looked at, as it has a score in it. I am on the road from Louisiana so it would be easy to sell me all sorts of unneeded stuff. But, he reported my pads were good, the rotor score would not diminish performance. Very quick, professional and honest. The place you want to go to in Kent. read more

This is the only place that ever looks at any of mine or my children's or my grandchildren's vehicles. He is honest prompt answers his phone and is very fair in all of our dealings with him over the past 15 to 20 years. Please check him out he is one in 1 million. read more

I lived in Kent for five years while attending college at Kent State University. I took my 2004 Yukon there for all repairs and it was always outstanding service. They were honest and only fixed what was needed and let me know if there was anything that I should keep an eye on for the future. I highly recommend them as they are great to work with and I feel like the price was extremely reasonable for all repairs that were done. read more

I couldn't be happier with the service at Main Street Auto. They always give honest feedback on what the vehicle needs and the price is always more than fair. The quality of work is excellent too. Mike goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied with the work. read more

I dropped my car off at 8:30am for an oil change and a quote for an exhaust repair. I was told they would get to it that morning. By 4pm I hadn't heard anything back. When I called I was told they hadn't looked at it and wouldn't have a chance to that day. Do not quote me a time and then not stand by it. If you would actually like someone to work on your car, do not go here. read more

I've been going to Main Street Auto for a few years now for various car repairs as needed. The staff has always been professional and helpful. They have never tried to up sell or push anything I did not need. They inform you what the problems are and what your options are and let you decide how to proceed. A good reputation in the car repair business is not an easy thing to achieve, they must be doing it right because there is always many people in need of their services. It's helpful to make an appointment with them since they are so busy, but they will gladly take on your vehicle in emergency situations of course. This is one of my favorite repair shops in the NE Ohio area. read more

like holy mac i love this place when my husband any way bad area you need to give to the poor in the neiborhood something please god lee

These guys are top notch. fair prices. quality repairs. I've been taking my car to these folks since 2003 when they were "Crock's Auto Care" And you're going to have to schedule appointments. If there was ANY complaint I have about them, it's that it takes them a while to get to a project. But this is par for the course for a quality mechanic, as people take their business to these men for good reason. Otherwise you can't go wrong. read more

They always do their best! They really know what they are doing and dont give you the run around and the best prices in town. Ive been a loyal customer for 5 years and 6 cars! lol read more

I brought my car in Monday morning just for a check up before I had to go on a road trip. They called me later that day to tell me I had a very bad oil leak....estimate for repair $450.00 - and, because they were slammed, they couldn't guarantee they could get to it by Friday, when they close. I planned to leave 2 days later. They promised to call me to give me an idea if they were going to be able to do it by Fri. They weren't so good at the calling part. When I called on Thurs. they told me it would be done that afternoon. Cost -- $215.00 They let me take it to test it out and bring it back Fri. morning to make sure the leak had been fixed. It checked out ok today. So, all in all, I'm a happy customer! read more

I have used Main Street Auto Center in Kent for many years now. We bring all our cars (except new ones under dealer/manufacture service programs) to this wonderful place. They are always busy so you need to call and make an appointment. But you will appreciate the honest work and you will save money. read more

Mike and the guys at Main Street Auto are outstanding. My daughter, a Kent student, went to see them with an steering issue on her car. They spent an hour, fixed her head light (they noticed it was out !), and the steering problem, and charged her $18.00. It doesn't get any better than this. These guys know their stuff and charge fair prices. Highly Recommended ! read more

The owner, Mike, is everything you want in an auto mechanic and everything that the dealerships aren't - honest, committed to quality and fairly priced. He and his crew have worked on several of my vehicles this year and they have raised my expectations of what an auto repair center should be. Five stars, indeed. read more

Awesome experience! Everyone was very friendly and professional! Was concerned about using a new repair shop but they definitely streamlined the process and made it hassle free! Will continue to use them for as long as I'm in Kent. read more

Mike is a fabulous mechanic and he runs a great shop. He's friendly, honest, and dependable. I know who is working on my car and I trust him. He's great at providing information to make good decisions and doesn't try to get extra money out of his customers by misleading them like most auto shops do. I wouldn't bring my car anywhere else in Kent! read more

I've always been pleased with the work of all the staff at Main Street. Mike, Jeff and all the service guys go that little extra whenever it's needed. I can't recall an instance where I doubted a suggestion or diagnostic to resolve a problem. Pricing is fair as nothing is cheap for vehicles. Highly recommend this service as it truly is a quality "service". read more

I was not treated nicely. The mechanic I spoke to was rude and acted like he did not want or need my business.I do not believe it was the owner Mike that I spoke with.It was a young man maybe in his middle twenties.I will not be giving my business to main street auto. read more
