"Caveat Emptor" Went to Fix-It with Fred for a needed oil change and the air conditioner was blowing warm air. Dropped the car off told them the problems and mentioned, when braking, the car pulled a little to the left. Later they called with a diagnostic fee which seemed a little high but wanted it fixed. Someone called back the next day told me they had changed the oil and recharged the air conditioning and found leaks at both Schrader valves which they replaced (part of the diagnostic fee I imagine) and I needed $2000 worth of brake work, (front pads and rotors, rear shoes and drums, front calipers, BG brake system service). My response was, "that is a third of what the car was worth, put it back together and the car will be picked up. A total of $2875.81 of work and parts were declined by me. " Just to be on the safe side, two weeks later the same vehicle was taken to another auto repair shop to have the brakes checked, their receipt says "Inspect brakes, approximately 50% -OK". The brakes are working fine. There is probably a large gap as to what is needed for vehicle repairs and what the manufacturers suggests and how much money you have. read more

Fix It With Fred is a phenomenal auto service business. 100% transparent, their prices are amazing, their attention to detail is second to none. I have taken my cars to Fred for over 20 years. I drove my 2006 Elantra to 304,000 miles, mainly because Fred maintained it for most of its life. My 2023 Elantra has 50k on it and was recently serviced by Fred. I had a fuel induction/injector cleaning service (I think that is what it is called lol) and the car is running as good as the day it was brand new. I highly recommend Fred and his crew. Big shoutout to Corey! I have to say I'm skeptical whenever I take my car to someone new but Fix It Fred was very accommodating. They were friendly, quick, and knowledgeable. I got a full car inspection with a detailed breakdown. Each issue is identified with details and pictures which makes it very easy to understand. They even waived my inspection fee due to the minuscule issue I had. The staff made me feel comfortable and they did a great job explaining everything and showing me how they operate. My 2005 Deville needed the Low oil pressure sensor replaced. I was told when I made the Appointment that they would test it before wasting several hundred of my dollars. I dropped off the Deville and placed the key in the overnight key drop, I wrote on the envelope in the section that asked "how can we make you happy" Please replace low oil pressure sensor. The Next morning I received an email that they had brought my car into the shop and started a full inspection and there was a starting fee of $184 dollars. I immediately called and asked what this was for. I was told they check out every car when they come in for the first time and I asked if it was too late to stop and was the inspection in addition to the repairs and was told yes. I called around 1 and asked the status, they still weren't done, I asked if they pulled codes for the oil light that was thrown several times. Ty said they had not but that was a good idea. (Really? $184 and you don't pull codes from the vehicles own self diagnostic system?) I waited until 3:30 and received another update that stated the inspection was complete and they had found 8 items that needed attention immediately. There were no prices listed of course. I called and talked with Ty who informed me that they put dye in my oil and found numerous oil leaks. And there was no leaks from the oil pressure sensor. Therefore they concluded that due to the oil leaks, the fact that my oil was due to be changed (I was less than 200 miles over) and the oil was low on the dipstick (I had checked the oil at the last fill up, It was barely half a quart down on the dip stick. The low oil light came on due to the low oil and caused the issue and the sensor did not need replaced. When I was stunned and could barely say anything without losing my temper he asked if I understood what he was saying and should he explain it again more slowly? Like I was an idiot. I've owed several of these Northstar engines and there is a joke, if a Northstar isn't leaking oil it's because it's ran out of oil! To get my car back I had to pay for the inspection ($184.00) that I did not ask for. I was not told about the large fee for the inspection. And nothing was fixed. They didn't even change the oil after adding the dye to "find the leaks I know my vehicle and have owned it for 10 years, I know it had oil leaks and some of the other issues. But the $3800 bill was abit more then what my regular mechanic who is on medical leave had informed me of. It add insult to all of this, they did not check the electrical stability of the sensor because they would have to remove the motor mount. The $180 would have covered replacing the sensor at most garages. Never trust a garage that advertises ways to pay for your repairs with 3 different financing options before they list all of the items that need repaired. Don't trust anyone who charges this much for a general inspection and does this without telling you. I was specific in what they were to do and they ignored my request. Additionally, My car had thrown the oil light twice since I got it back. Great job! read more

I have gone to fix it with Fred for 2 different instances and let me tell you what I will NEVER go anywhere else! They are sooooo nice there, I always feel intimidated going to car places cause I am a 22 year old girl that knows very little about cars and I think they are the sweetest people ever! They are fair with prices (I have a family member that always tells me what to ask for/ expect with stuff relating to cars), they will keep you updated throughout the process, I have never had an issue with any of the work they did on my fusion, honestly I cannot rave enough! read more

I dont often review much but I had to for this place. Hands down best shop around. I felt like I was in a 5 star resort. The receptionist even offered me a tour of the place. Everyone was 100% respectful and courteous. The health check report was great. Easy to access and they send you actual pics and video clips of an issue with a learning video about it. They spotted the problem fast and even checked it twice because I insisted. Had my alternator replaced, head gaskets changed, and steering fluid leak repaired. They inspected it one day, reinspected the next,ordered parts and repaired it within the week. Drove it out of town and works great. Way better than before. I'll definitely be returning. I would strongly recommend this company. Especially if your like me and have trust issues. read more

Seems like they do a decent job. The work I gave them was intermediate at best and the bill was very high. Please make sure you ask about a breakdown of how the invoice reads. It hides some things such as hourly rate and cost of parts. Owner called me and explained for an hour why the bill was so high. He has to charge more for labor because he gives cheap oil changes. 29.99 is average so he is not doing anyone any favors. read more
