This place is the worst. The smoothies are okay but the service is horrible every time I come. The place is staffed with poorly trained teenagers. There is no sense of organization or urgency. Still thinking about the dessert acai bowl... Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 11. I was able to order immediately, then it was a short wait for the bowl (5-10 minutes). Main Squeeze is my first stop on the days I am out the door with an empty stomach, but a well fed, clean and dry baby. The ingredients are fresh and similar to the quality we keep at home. I usually order the Maca Mama (which is delicious) and add pineapple and flaxseeds. The owner is super friendly and knows what he's doing. Some of the staff are a bit less quick to get your order in and made, but I definitely don't mind that the fruit is basically cut to order. Who wants a lacklustre, jamba style smoothie anyway? Whatever you do, don't order using Yelp. I don't think they have the system set up yet. When I arrived they hadn't received my order, so I was well behind quite a few other hungry customers. Really hope they stay bustling and in business. We need more places like this on Lake Shore. read more

Poor customer service. I only give 1 star reviews to places with horrible customer service. There is no excuse for bad service, especially when there is no line and the place is slow and empty AF. I went in today to get a juice, there were no other customers in the place, just a lady the manager was flirting with. It took the manager a couple minutes to even acknowledge me, and even then it was just to tell me he would be with me in a little bit. After his friend left and there were still no other customers in the place, instead of just taking my order, he started fussing around the back, cleaning things, checking his one ticket and pretending to be really busy as if he just did not want to take my order. They custom made a strawberry banana mango smoothie for me with coconut milk and coconut flakes and it was so insanely delicious I went to their other location in Alameda the same day and got another one - which was just as good. My girlfriends and I went here last Saturday for breakfast & LOVED it. The dessert acai bowl was the perfect serving size. Don't be turned off by the word "dessert." The healthy bowls are made with almond milk and do not taste overly sweet, which I have experienced with a lot of other acai bowls. They also had GF granola, which was great! The owner took his time making our bowls, but we were not in a hurry and enjoyed his friendliness. He was also very accommodating. I'll definitely be back as our breakfast was yummy and filling! This was one of the worst açaí bowl places that I've ever tried. We ordered the beleza bowl. It wasn't good. The strawberries were soaked in syrup and the honey was of low quality. The only other place that I had strawberries soaked in syrup was Costco's açaí bowl. Just make your own at home. read more

If you're considering this place, remember that you're in Oakland. There are dozens of better juice and smoothie restaurants to try! The açaí bowls and smoothies weren't worth the price. The Golden Sun smoothie had a nice cinnamon flavor underneath the fruit, but it was nothing special. The açaí bowl was missing some sort of chocolate or sweet fruit to balance it out. The workers were unfriendly, chatting with their friends and acting inconvenienced when they had to take their customers' orders. The building has no seating or waiting room. Service was on the slow side. I notice a lot of the fruit isn't prepped before hand e.g. Slicing the strawberries...maybe that's why? I wish they pitted a hole in the middle of the ACAI so the toppings are more distributed. That way the bottom of the ACAI bowl gets some toppings too. Also I didn't care for the apple. I stumbled upon this place after a jog at Lake Merritt. I will say I love where it is situated, but I can definitely for see parking being an issue on a weekend. I luckily snatched a spot, less than 900 ft away. The street itself is aligned with shops, on both sides. There's a Starbucks, European Wax Center, and a host of small owned businesses, restaurants, and I even noticed a Kosher grocery store. The juice bar is very small. Probably a max of three people could fit in the space. I was outside while waiting to place my order. I ordered an oasis bowl and something Carmen, it was a smoothie; forgive me I'm terrible with names occasionally. The fruit was fresh, nothing spectacular. Kind of pricey, $7.50 for a 16oz. The bowl was $10.50, but they range in price. I think the most inexpensive one I noticed was $7. All around okay spot to grab a quick smoothie or bowl. I'll probably return. read more
