Overpriced, overcooked pizza, donut holes, and the chicken wing platter
    Mishawn D.

The last time we visited Main Event was August 2021. The customer service was subpar and they were short staffed, and overpriced. Here was our experience after this afternoon's visit: Customer Service: 8/10 The folks at the bowling counter were decent. They were overwhelmed of course because it was super busy, but they held it together. Our server for our section was very attentive, kind, and efficient. And I appreciated that he checked on our group often. I wished he kept our waters refilled, though. Food: 3/10 For a large pizza, donut holes, and a chicken wing "platter" our total was over $60. It was not worth it. The pizza was lukewarm and overcooked. Pizza Hut or Original Pizza is 100% better! The donut holes were amazing and the chicken wings had good flavor. It was not enough food for three hungry kids and two adults, honestly. Once again, shrinkflation has really impacted the amount of food for the price. You're better off eating before you come or after you leave to save your coins. Activities: 6/10 It was not a shock to me that the place was extremely busy. It's Friday during spring break so we anticipated the crowds. Please do yourself a favor and reserve your activities (especially bowling) online. We did so the night before and I am glad we did. It saves time, money, and the heartache of waiting. Otherwise, it was almost a three hour wait and the line to bowl was out the door. The arcade games were also very busy. Questionable lanes: A previous yelper said the bowling lanes are warped and curve to a certain direction based on what lane you are on and it's true. The bowling balls tend to curve toward the end of the lane before or right after hitting the pins. The gate that sweeps the pins also seemed to malfunction and was hit by a few other bowlers on other lanes, causing the ball to get stuck. Not cool. Overall: 6.5/10 It's Main Event. It's a good time but be ready to spend and do not come hungry. The thing about Main Event is there isn't a multi-event center like this in JoCo so it's always going to be crowded, especially on weekends and when school is out. I wish they would bring back the weekday specials so people won't spend hundreds for a couple hours of fun. If you're just wanting to bowl, there are other bowling places nearby that may not be as fancy but they will definitely not be as crowded and the food may be cheaper and better.

This was a birthday request from the 13yr old. While I enjoy the plethora of activities, it comes at a very steep price. I found the majority of employees to be rude and dismissive. There was a particular experience while waiting for the elevated obstacle course where it took 3 of us Mothers to persuade them to attend their waiting line. The employees were simply busy chatting with each other and could've cared less about the rest of us. We stayed for several hours and refilled the playing cards twice. Played a game of very competitive bowling. Laser tagged three different times. Purchased slushees from the restaurant. Ended our visit cashing in our points in the Prize Shop. Where the price value of the items is not equivalent to the prizes available. I think we walked out with some ninja swords, I could've gotten from the Dollar Store and a squishy ball. Maybe I've been spoiled by Dave and Busters similar themed game stop, especially with a half price Wednesday to help pass the hot summer days away. This place will not be a regular stop for us. It just isn't worth it.

Expensive. We were told when paying we had 2 hours of bowling and then when it got busy they shut our lanes down.

Shocked that a TRH has this many positive reviews!…read more First time going. Funny story, my SO and I have been trying to get a seat here for Valentine's Day for three years now. We initially chose it thinking "oh it's v day, people will want to do something nicer than TRH". WRONG. Told a 3 hour wait and we shuffled over to the Olive Garden. Well, this year, I was smart. I went online weeks prior to make a reservation, only to find out that they don't take reservations--only a waitlist. So I plotted. I told myself that I'd start looking at the waitlist starting at 2p for Valentine's Day I kid you not, by 330p, the waitlist was already at 1.25 hours. 30 min later at 4p, the waitlist was at 2hrs. Perfect. 6pm dinner sounds great! We arrived and they seated us within 2 minutes. Our waiter came promptly and checked on us so many times. Salads came out literally within a minute of us ordering. Entrees took five minutes. A wait staff stood there and waited for us to cut into our steaks to ensure that it was to our liking. And we pay at the table on a machine on our own time. We got in and out in 30 minutes. Whoever is the manger/GM know how to manage. Kudos to them for an insanely smooth holiday dinner. Also... a chain restaurant having an almost 4 star review is insane--but now I understand.

Some of the people in our group thought some of their dishes were a little bland, but I liked everything I tried. We had the okra and fried pickles for appetizers. The pickles have a very crunchy breading and a dip that was delicious! The okra is very good - especially with the dip for the pickles. We also tried the biscuits with butter and peach compote. They were great! Unique, fluffy, flavorful, and definitely worth a side order. I ordered the chicken and waffles with the peach. It was a good dish. The chicken tenders had a little bit of a spice that I didn't totally love, but they were still good. I also tried my friend's shrimp and grits, and they were delicious. The person next to me got meatloaf and brussels sprouts sprouts and really enjoyed it! He was practically licking the plate! Everyone seemed to enjoy their drinks as well. For my meal: The good were the tater tots! I got a decent amount and they were fresh and crispy. I typically don't send food back in these types of establishments unless the food is cold, Inedible or missing key components. I've worked in these establishments in the past and sometimes you just know when not to send stuff back If you know what I mean. The bartender was very lackadaisical even though they weren't busy and really just took his sweet ol' time and never came back to ask how everything was or if I needed anything while I was eating. Right when I was about to leave he did ask if I wanted another beer, But that was a little too late. The price for this outing was less than $25 with tip so that's not bad. Sweet and savory done right, though heads up if you're dairy-sensitive -- that slaw is loaded. Unfortunately, the service side fell flat. We arrived mid-afternoon around 1:30-2:00, and the restaurant wasn't busy. We asked if we could sit upstairs, and the host seemed confused before telling us it was closed, then seated us directly next to a loud group despite plenty of quieter open tables nearby. A few minutes later, we looked upstairs ourselves and saw multiple occupied tables being actively served...what the heck? The most frustrating part of this experience wasn't the seating, it was the complete indifference from the staff. Drinks didn't arrive until after we had already finished eating, and despite the restaurant being relatively slow, nobody seemed remotely concerned. No urgency or communication. Just a normal day for them, I guess. A kitchen can only carry a restaurant so far when the front-of-house operates with this little care for hospitality. The atmosphere gives the impression of a place that wants to feel polished and upscale, but the service felt lazy and disconnected from the guest experience. Mistakes happen in restaurants. What matters is whether the staff notices and cares enough to fix them. We left wondering how a restaurant with food this solid has become comfortable delivering service this poor.

We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.
