This Chuck E. Cheese location has been around so long I remember going here when I was a kid, 30 years ago - that's pretty impressive, but despite their longevity I left pretty underwhelmed. This past winter we saw many snowy/ extreme cold days that kept our four year old at home, and one such day when she had told us she was bored about a million times I remembered that hey Chuck E. Cheese was nearby and why don't we go and see if it's at all like I remember from when I was a kid. She has some friends that had gone recently too, and she'd asked about it so the stars aligned the two of us did a mommy daughter date over to Chuck E. Cheese. When we walked in there a place you are supposed to stop to be stamped with your kid so that you leave with the child you walk in with, which I think is a good policy and something that I recall from my own childhood. When we found ourselves at this station though, there was nobody in sight and I pretty much had to flag someone down who seemed genuinely annoyed that I asked for help to let us in. They did eventually stamp us and then I had to ask the same employee questions about how to get tickets/pay, etc. since I hadn't been since like 1995. There were maybe 20 people inside of the whole place and one employee who seemed to hate being there so their lackluster help didn't make the energy of the place any better. I ended up getting my daughter a pass to play for like an hour and a half, which was about the right amount of time. She's almost five and could play most of the games, but did get frustrated with some that were above her level. I was surprised to see the indoor play area gone - there is a much smaller version but it was roped off on our visit which was a bummer. The stage with the Chuck E. Cheese characters was also gone and what was left was basically a big room filled with video games and a few skee-ball machines. It felt like a casino for children, the energy was very sad. When it was time to go I again had to basically flag down the solo employee, who again seemed less than happy to help us get our prize. We then just waltzed out without any measure of security, despite the hand stamp. We left around 5pm and I could tell the place was starting to pick up pace with a dinner crowd. We didn't eat anything as we came in between meals so I can't speak to the food quality. Overall, I don't know if all Chuck E. Cheese locations have the same vibe these days but for the money I left feeling like I'd much rather take my kids to one of the other child friendly attractions in town. Sure it makes for a fun hour on a snow day and it's close by, but this will not be in our regular rotation for sure. read more

This is the choice Chuck E Cheese in my house, so we popped in today since I had a coupon and needed to get some energy out. I was pretty surprised with how expensive it is now. $32/person for an hour of play made my mouth drop. There were several machines that were out of order or not working properly. I like how they make sure whoever came in are the same ones who can leave together. Being able to pause a card and use it for later is also nice (or the tickets earned). We didn't have any food on this trip, but the salad bar looked clean and fresh. There were two guys actively working on games and when the sketch picture ran out of paper, they were quick to refill it. The floors and games all looked clean. Hopefully next time we go, there will be more games working (and we find a coupon). read more

We visited Chuck E Cheese for a birthday party. We had never been to this location, but we had a great time and will definitely return. Birthday party attendees receive play cards as part of the package price so I can't speak to the pricing (see photo of menu) but everything is stored on a card and tickets you win are also on the card, so you don't have to worry about losing them. The people who welcomed us were nice, and the birthday party attendants made sure everyone had pizza, cake, and dippin dots. Chuck E Cheese came out to dance with the kids and take pictures with the birthday kids. Even though there were lots of people there, it didn't seem overly crowded and not many games had a long wait to play. The restrooms were clean and it seemed like most of the games were also in good repair! As with most of these types of places, the things you can buy with your tickets are trinkets or "cheap" toys or candy but my 3 year old was thrilled with the selection! read more

I was here this evening for my niece baby girl Sophie's 4th bday party! I was late because the Chiefs were on soooo when I arrived went right in. My niece & husband have 5 kids so this was an expensive party but it got worse. The staff could not tell her what happened to the 2 pizzas. After an hour someone new came out talking saying with 5 kids it is 2 pieces of pizza each that is it. After over one hour my niece still not happy, her husband handling the kids playing I left. I called this location six times asked for the manager five minute hold, I spoke w Chastity she indicated that the original server walked out leaving them short staffed. This manager was so apologetic told me she would give my niece a discount due to the confusion. It meant a lot to my niece to get that discount as she is a stay at home mom her husband works usually 6-7 days a week to support the family. Having a get together for there 4 yr olds bday was to build her memories of family fun birthdays. It meant a lot to them to get this discount more than management knew, bday, illnesses, holidays it was a sacrifice to have this party. Things I never thought I'd say: I actually enjoyed being at Chuck E Cheese. It's been a few years since I've entered a Chuck E Cheese. Last time we were here I remember really hoping I wouldn't have to touch anything because every surface was sticky. The whole place was dimly lit and way too loud. Honestly it looked like a sketchy smoke filled bar. Games were always broken, food never looked great. It just wasn't worth the money. But those days of scary, back alley Chuck E Cheese are gone! They've updated this location and it's great. The space is brighter and more inviting. Everything was clean and actually working! They even have staff members working the game floor and keeping things in line. While we didn't eat anything on this trip, the food on the buffet line looked and smelled pretty good. The prices weren't awful either. They have beer on tap too, so it's a little easier to enjoy yourself while chasing the offspring. Seriously, I was pleasantly surprised and would be willing to take my kids again in the future. read more

Pizza and children; who doesn't love both!? Chuck E. Cheese is still the classic kids pizza place it has always been. I went recently with my niece and nephew and the pizza is as good as I remember it from years ago. The ball pit isn't nearly as big or as deep as I recall and the kids are ten times more annoying than I remember being a that age, but back to the pizza- delicious and well worth it. I'm pretty sure you can't to Chuck E. Cheese without children due to that fact that it would be really creepy, but if you have kids, younger siblings, or nieces and nephews I recommend taking a trip down memory lane and stopping by Chuck E. Cheese for a hot slice of pie and endless hours filled with kids laughing, playing and having a blast. read more

Took the kids here after they did their remodel and it looks so much better than it did last year. Customer service was great! They have lots of new games that the kids all enjoyed. I also enjoy their new coin system, it's priced on a time limit. We did the hour which is $17 and it gives the kids an unlimited amount of game use in that hour time frame. Been a while since we've been here, so when we saw the "play" options I thought at first this was maybe cheaper or better in some way. Wrong!! Now you have to buy "minutes " to use instead of tokens. Believe me the token system was better. The way it is now the kids have a certain amount of time that runs continuously, meaning even when you aren't playing a game your time is ticking. So instead of being able to sit with a drink and watch the kids play games you're with them going hurry, hurry, hurry so they can get all the games in they want. And forget going to the bathroom or sitting down to eat or drink something. Profit wise I understand the change, customer wise I don't. It had been way more years than I can count since I had been here. In fact, the last time it was called Showbiz. I even had the second birthday party here before they even opened the show area (which was much more of a feature back in the day). One of my friends suggested we bring our little ones here for lunch last week. I was a bit hesitant, thinking that toddlers wouldn't have much to keep them entertained here. Wow was I wrong! We ordered our pizza, grabbed some tokens and found a table. I wish they had more tables/booths to accommodate high chairs. We sat down at a long, elementary cafeteria-style booth and just moved one of the benches to the end of the table. Thankfully it wasn't too busy in the area where we were. There was a birthday party near us and I was a bit disappointed in the setup. The Chuck E Cheese show is definitely not a selling feature now. The pizza was better than I thought it would be. Our kids each at a couple of the smaller slices. Then it was off to play! They have a toddler area with a couple little rides, games and a playground. While they loved everything in that area, they wanted to experience everything. My little guy was really drawn to all of the simulation rides. We were there for more than two hours and probably could have stayed longer, but I was exhausted!! Even a week after going, my little guy can't stop talking about it. I would like to try another location and see how it's different. This location felt a bit run down to me and not at all like I remembered. What do I mean by restroom debacle you ask? Strap in and smoke a cigarette: First, you will have to poop before leaving this establishment. And by poop, I mean pee out of your butt. And by pee out of your butt, I mean splatter poo water all over your respective genitalia due to the alarmingly close distance of toilet water to butthole, or water to butthole; I really don't know the proper order. Not good at math. Anyway, I digress. I must stress that you will have to poop regardless of whether you eat anything here. Must have something to do with all of the electronic stuff in there or something. **As a side note, if you do plan on eating here I suggest the pizza. It's fantastic.** If I had PLANNED my trip to this fine establishment, then I would have brought a mop and a shower. But unfortunately, I can't predict the future because I'm not a scientist. So just know that once the may lay of feces leaves your now vomiting butthole, the amount that stays in the toilet upon completion is roughly 25% (a solid 25% though). The remainder has either travelled it's way back into your butthole, painted your male parts to be unrecognizable, or (I am only speculating, cannot confirm or deny) made a home inside of your "vagina" (I hope that's the politically correct way of saying it). We brought my daughter here because I promised her we would before school started. Staff is not the friendliest and the food is not the best. We all know this. BUT my daughter loves it, so we drag ourselves down to this germ-infested playground once again for an afternoon of friendly competition. The bathrooms were relatively clean but there were adult customers exiting without washing hands. Nearly enough to make me run, screaming from the building. This place is great for kids to have fun and play games, but the food is average, the salad bar looks like it gets looked at once a day and the staff is really slow. From a cost perspective you get about an 1 1/2 hours entertainment out of $20 in tokens for 2 kids and a large pizza and drinks for another $20 so go there to wear the kids out and eat average pizza. read more

Whenever we called and asked a simple question that warranted a yes/no, the one on the phone, an Alfonso or whatnot, responded "no!!" In an ugly tone and then hung up the phone. Not impressed. The Chuck E Cheese's in Chicago doesn't serve beer but this one does! Over Thanksgiving, my girlfriend and I had the best date ever here and we're not ashamed to admit that. I went last summer for a birthday party of a family member and the air was not working so the temp was well over 100 in there, the salad bar was empty and had to ask several times to just get some lettuce, I can get a better pizza in the frozen foods section at price chopper and alot of the games were either not working or ate your tokens. Almost all the online reviews I have read about this place weren't very promising. We decided to take our 4 year old daughter to eat here on her birthday, no birthday party, just an evening out since her bday fell during the week. Anyway, it's perfect for kids! All the games cost a quarter and there are a ton that she could actually play and were at her skill level. Plus there is a slide and stuff to climb around in. Oh my god I was so insulted. I walked in bought my meal and got my salad they did not give me salad plates. One of the managers walked over and started yelling you cannot use normal plates you can not get a salad without it. The Good: Pizza is actually WAY better than I remember. Crust is perfectly baked, crispy around the edges and cheesy. Lots of toppings. Plenty of games and a few rides - Pretty much something for all ages. Loads of coupons for combo packages and free tokens. They also have an app that allows you to play and earn tickets from home. This is a great way for you ticket hungry kid to earn tickets with no impact to your wallet. I'd say 99% of the games were working on our last two visits. Attendants are quick to make things right of there is a problem with a token stealing game. Restrooms and party tables where very clean. The Bad: I've taken my kids twice in about six months. On both occasions I saw a pizza sitting in the delivery window. On both occasions there appeared to be members of management sitting in a booth within view of said window. On both occasions that pizza sat in the window far too long. On both occasions that pizza was mine. On the last visit the salad bar was well stocked and clean. But I was surprised to see a few patrons at the bar getting salad on their Chuck E plates that are reserved for pizza while I got my salad on the black salad plate I paid several dollars for. On both of my recent visits there were many dirty tables. I would assume it's difficult to know when people are still holding a table or are no longer dining, but for me the indicator would be no cups and no coats. Parties can really become expensive unless you don't plan on feeding adults or you have very few children. My cousin spent over $600 on her three year olds last party. Overall, my kids like CEC. This location has definitely gone down hill. Only positive was the pizza, even though it took FOREVER to get to our table (even after seeing it wait in the window with multiple staff members standing around). I expected the carpets to be dirty with kids running around all day, however I did not expect the salad bar and bathrooms to be disgusting. Trash in the bathroom was overflowing, and the salad bar didn't even have any salad in it. Some of the machines were broken and some didn't even give tickets. The last time we visited this location will probably be our last ever. The pizza was ok & the associates were fairly pleasant until a problem came up with the salad bar. When I went to the salad bar I saw a long black hair in the baby corn. I went over to 2 employees who were sitting in a booth chatting & let them know there was hair in the corn. They said "ok" and continued to sit there talking for a few minutes. Finally one of them got up, went over to the salad bar, picked the hair out of the corn, dropped the hair onto the floor & went back to the booth to chat some more leaving the dish of corn on the salad bar. I finally went back to the lady & asked "aren't you going to remove that food?). She finished her conversation then went & grabbed the dish, went to the kitchen & immediately reappeared with a dish of corn which she put back on the salad bar. I am pretty sure she just brought the same bowl of corn back out because it was 10 min before they were shutting down the salad bar. Either way, they didn't seem too concerned that there was hair in the food & I was pretty grossed out so I don't think we will be going back there. read more

Cheese was pretty amazing which is the reason why I took a chance on going again. Apparently, much has changed in the last year at Chuck E. Cheese. After going on 01-08-12, I had to let the Greater KC Metro folks know, this is a super bad idea! First of all, they are advertising that they're pizza is soooo much better because they use fresh dough, real mozzarella, crispier crust, etc. I promise you guys, it's so much worse! I'd rather have the old recipe with the water based cheese! I actually used to like the pizza. Now they have to be putting on half the toppings as they use to. At least 3 pieces of my pizza slices were bare with a brush of pizza sauce on them! My children didn't even know that I ordered pepperoni pizza because you could not see the pepperonis! I think it was maybe 5 per large pizza. You had to look really hard to find them. The pizza was super dooey and bubbled up. I warned the manager about the pizza and he gave me some lame excuse trying to convince me that since the pizza dough is sooo much better and the dough rises sooooo much, the toppings just slide off. Are you freaking serious??? So he brought out another pizza and it was just as bad!! My children and guests' children did not even eat all of the pizza and they are heavy pizza eaters! Not to mention how filthy the place was ( I know what your'e thinking, it's a child's playing place, it should be filthy) Yeah, but some things really should not get that bad. The women's restroom should have been shut down until somebody has thoroughly gone through with a mask and bleached the whole place down! Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!
