Weekday was pretty empty at opening.

Good and bad experience: Good - decent buffet for a kids pizza place, young cashier was very helpful and friendly. Bad - the management team didn't seem to know what was going on, kept barking orders at the cashier and I felt sorry for her. Several of the games that we tried to play or not working or not issuing tickets as they were supposed to. Had to keep trying to get staff to come over. Two managers at this location, one male and one female, seemed to leave most of the work up to the cashier. Very hands-off approach, which was disheartening.

Super loud! Food is mediocre at best. Kids under 5 love it though. Be sure to sanitize your hands afterwards.

I found a pass on Groupon for a group of 4 that was $25. My kids enjoyed it. However, my 3 yr old got bored due to not understanding the games but that did not stop anything because they even had a toy room for the little kids. The part that stood out most was being able to leave and reenter during the day because it's in the mall. This is great for family's that may have someone who wants to be at the mall but not wait by the dressing room while you shop. I will definitely be revisiting once all the kids return to school so that I can be a big kid too.

My son and I went on a Friday night and played for a little over two hours until closing. We had a blast. They have around 30 arcade cabinets, two pinball machines, two skee-ball lanes, retro consoles like the Sega Genesis, NES, and PlayStation, plus modern consoles like the Nintendo Switch and more. If you have little ones, there are a couple of small playrooms with toys for toddlers. They also have board games and a party room for birthdays and other events. Admission was only $10 for me and $5 for my son, and it's unlimited play all day. You can come and go as you please . . . grab food at the food court or a nearby restaurant, then come back and keep playing. It's so rare to find an affordable arcade that's truly family-friendly. I love Up-Down, but since it's 21+, I can't take my kids there. This place is an amazing hidden gem in the Kansas City area. They've also added a $4 non-player admission, which is perfect if you just want to bring the kids and relax with a book while they play.

Used to be an AMF back in the day and you can see a lot of the remnants of it both inside and out. Customer service wasn't the greatest. The man up front, I believe his name was Doug seemed very reluctant to help us. When we arrived he was more concerned about a broken lane and told us to wait and that he'll be right back. There was also a couple of people who spoke directly at him including a woman who just wanted to say thank you on her way out and he just ignored them both. As far as the place itself, It's pretty easy to find your way around but not a fan of how the bowling balls are sorted. You pretty much have to go to other unoccupied lanes to search for a ball if your lane doesn't have what you're looking for. Wasn't a huge fan of the red ambiance either. I only bowled the one game but I'm not sure I could stay here for several hours under the red lights. Just doesn't feel too inviting.

This past winter we saw many snowy/ extreme cold days that kept our four year old at home, and one such day when she had told us she was bored about a million times I remembered that hey Chuck E. Cheese was nearby and why don't we go and see if it's at all like I remember from when I was a kid. She has some friends that had gone recently too, and she'd asked about it so the stars aligned the two of us did a mommy daughter date over to Chuck E. Cheese. When we walked in there a place you are supposed to stop to be stamped with your kid so that you leave with the child you walk in with, which I think is a good policy and something that I recall from my own childhood. When we found ourselves at this station though, there was nobody in sight and I pretty much had to flag someone down who seemed genuinely annoyed that I asked for help to let us in. They did eventually stamp us and then I had to ask the same employee questions about how to get tickets/pay, etc. since I hadn't been since like 1995. There were maybe 20 people inside of the whole place and one employee who seemed to hate being there so their lackluster help didn't make the energy of the place any better. I ended up getting my daughter a pass to play for like an hour and a half, which was about the right amount of time. She's almost five and could play most of the games, but did get frustrated with some that were above her level. I was surprised to see the indoor play area gone - there is a much smaller version but it was roped off on our visit which was a bummer. The stage with the Chuck E. Cheese characters was also gone and what was left was basically a big room filled with video games and a few skee-ball machines. It felt like a casino for children, the energy was very sad. When it was time to go I again had to basically flag down the solo employee, who again seemed less than happy to help us get our prize. We then just waltzed out without any measure of security, despite the hand stamp. We left around 5pm and I could tell the place was starting to pick up pace with a dinner crowd. We didn't eat anything as we came in between meals so I can't speak to the food quality. Overall, I don't know if all Chuck E. Cheese locations have the same vibe these days but for the money I left feeling like I'd much rather take my kids to one of the other child friendly attractions in town. Sure it makes for a fun hour on a snow day and it's close by, but this will not be in our regular rotation for sure.

We hosted our child's birthday party here, and overall it was a hit with the kids. The party packages include a private party room, pizza, pop, and wristbands for 12 guests. The wristbands give kids access to nearly all attractions (everything except the arcade games) for a total of three hours, which is a great value. Each party room also comes with a party host who shows you to the room and brings in the food. That said, once we were settled, there wasn't much guidance beyond that. It would really help if they provided a clearer layout or checklist of what to expect. We weren't sure: When or where to collect our party wristbands How to have guests sign waivers for their kids Where to find golf balls for glow-in-the-dark mini golf Where to put everyone's belongings once our party room time ended (you only get the room for one hour) A bit more organization or communication would make the experience much smoother for parents. Despite those hiccups, Rush FunPlex is a fantastic place for kids to celebrate and burn off that birthday cake sugar high. There's no shortage of entertainment, and the kids had an absolute blast. We'd definitely recommend it--with the hope that party instructions improve in the future.
