I really should have written a review years ago but unfortunately I tend to get comfortable in my setting and assume that others would choose Galpin Rentals over Uhaul as well. Some box trucks have lift gates, seats that actually recline, and I believe most have back up cameras. I've even rented a Mercedes Van that was kind of like a bus with 6 captain seats and standing room. My most recent experience is really where my bragging rights kick in. Due to Covid-19, I had to help my sister move home from her college dorm. Because I would only rent utility vehicles, I didn't think to call Galpin for an SUV. Initially I called Enterprise Rentals to rent a Chevy Suburban. My reservation was "all set for pick up", only to get a phone call 30 minutes prior to my scheduled pick up time notifying me that they DID NOT have the vehicle and that the vehicle was not available within a 20 mile radius. With the severity of the pandemic and the urgency to bring her home, any loved one would freak out. They were unwilling to further assist. I called Hertz as well with no luck and attitude when I asked for help trying to locate a large suv from another location. If you know football, then you should understand when I say I threw a HAIL MARY and called Galpin hoping for a large SUV with IMMEDIATE PICK UP. Distraught and anxious, I had the pleasure of speaking with Oscar. What a blessing he was. Professional yet personable, he listened to everything I had to say before literally pausing to think how he could possibly make arrangements to accommodate to my specific needs with short notice. After a brief hold, I was told he would have a Ford Expedition with my name on it. Surprise! I show up to a brand spanking new 2020 Ford Expedition 4x4 with panoramic sunroof, self breaking and accelerating cruise control, keyless go, push start, adaptive led headlights, and Apple play!! I drive a Mercedes, and to be honest I fell in love with that suv and am thinking of getting rid of my car. I even had multiple people stop me and tell me how nice my new suv was. hahahaha Because Galpin understands the severity of the pandemic, they made it their objective to ensure their customers rent vehicles that are sanitized and fully serviced. Fortunately for me, I got to be the first to drive the vehicle. Definitely Covid19 free I drove with peace of mind. All in all, I couldn't make the same mistake by not sharing this gem of a business and expressing my gratitude. Oscar really has performed the best in every area of the business. My experience with Oscar was a proper depiction of Galpin's core values as I reference the pillars that support their mission statement as they have all been notably achieved. Thanks again guys. It was only 0830 am and when I entered I was shocked to see how many people were inside in line! Completely packed and it's a small office inside! Thankfully my package was letter sized so I dropped it into the outbound mail slot knowing it was safe from the outside heat and then went on my merry way. The outbound mail slot is a good size to fit something a little bigger too. I would stop by here again for a quick drop off but for something more than that be prepared to wait in a line.
