    Weekday Daily Special 2024 July

Got the $10+tax+tips daily [11am~3pm] lunch special on Thursday, the beef noodle bowl. The beef are multiple thinner slices of beef, not the square big briskets as in nearby more expensive noodle restaurants. Overall the bowl is pretty big portion, lots of long noodles fairly filling, can easily add more spicy sauce provided on the side of table. The server said daily special is for dine in only (not takeout), and cash only (no debit/credit cards), so you cannot avoid tips in cash. Still one of the best value noodle option nearby, Also we ordered the $3 lamb skewers appetizer, and the server gave away a cup of cold drink for free, very kind.

Pretty clean-looking interior, the tables are spaced apart. Depending on where in the restaurant, can also enjoy a noodle pulling show. Watch those noods form while waiting. The noodles are more 3.5 stars but the appetizers and snacks fell short so they pulled the rating down. Do not order the beef scrolls, not worth the money. As the name suggests, dry thin wrapped beef and greens. The beef to green ratio was almost 50/50, mostly tasted like greens to be honest. The beef was almost non-existent under the dry wrap. The noodles are as expected which was a good thing. "Hand-pulled, fresh and fast." Personally biased and have a love for soup noodles so this really hit the spot. The noodles and soup were hot. They do not skimp on the portion which was definitely very filling, good value for money. Overall, will be back for a bowl of hot noodles on a chilly day.

Date visited : Wednesday April 20, 2022 Overall Rating for experience : 3.5/5 Comments : First time dining at the Woodside location. Friendly staff. Service : 4/5 Good & fast service, we came around 8pm on Wed for our order. Place was relatively clean. Food : 3.5/5 During this visit we order the Triple B noodle soup with Classic style noodles and the Magic Chicken noodle soup with Ribbon style noodles. Along with skewered Tofu Manch and Sizzling tentacles. I would like to make those aware, the product images are more accurate to presentation on their website vs the dine-in menu. Dine in menu product shots don't look close to what you are presented with. With an exception to the Signature Soup noodles perhaps. The product shots on the website match the dine-in menu. I ordered the Magic Chicken for myself and the breaded chicken thigh came on the side not as presented on the product shot. Along with the Tofu being drenched in hoisin sauce, the hoisin sauce was overpowering. Would have preferred the hoisin on the side as a dip. As for the Sizzling tentacles, for near $3.00 CAD, sorry this isn't worth the money you only get 1 piece on the skewer, my wife and I enjoy squid, and this was a disappointment for us. I enjoyed the Magic Chicken broth with the Ribbon type noodles, very filling. Wish there was more protein, but I digress, I think the noodles are meant to the the star of the show at this resto and the rest are supporting cast. Wifey enjoyed the Triple Beef w/Classic noodles. However, for both of us tho, we were unable to finish the broth of our soups. After we consumed the noodles and the other ingredients in our respective bowls, the remaining broth was too salty for our tastes. NOTE : for those that are managing GOUT. There are not as many Gout friendly options to choose from on the menu. Lots of beef, some pork, lamb and there is also Innards. Also be careful with the Savory Wonton noodle soup, the wontons have pork. Not as many Chicken options that I would like to see. Drinks : Pitcher of water with a 2nd pitcher requested. Portion Size Value for Money Spent : 3.5/5 Portion size for the noodle soups we ordered was fine for the price of $11.99 each. However the Sizzling tentacles we were underwhelmed with what we received for $2.89 CAD the skewered tofu with 4 pieces was fair for $2.89. Worth a repeat visit : Most definitely. Due to not that many good fresh hand pulled noodle spots around where we live within 10-15 min drive from our home. This is closer to us than the location in Milliken, north of Finch along Midland.

The tofu is decently tender, small pieces of minced pork and a savory spicy sauce on a whole container of rice. 4.5/5. Eggplant with minced pork in spicy sauce on rice. The flavor on this is on point with a nice sweet and hint of spicy sauces. Eggplant is cooked well as is the meat. Sits on a giant bed of rice. 4/5 Rice noodles with sliced pork. The rice noodles are cooked well and the sliced pork is incredibly tender. There's bean sprouts and onions and green onions though I feel the onions may have been a tad undercooked. Still for the amount of food and flavor, it's great. 5/5. Price: Each dish came in around 6-7$ which is crazy cheap considering the amount of food you get. Don't expect any super high quality ingredients but this is your cheap and quick takeout that will fill you up.

We were lucky to get our table in a few minutes, but even after we were seated, until we leave - there were customers/food delivery persons constantly in-and-out. We had: B12. Pork with Crab Meat Steamed Bun D7: Pork and Celery Dumpling (boiled) P1: Pan fried pot stickers N3: Braised beef brisket noodles C11: Black fungus in vinegar sauce Food came fast, and our small table got full of food!! EVERYTHING was great. I love the wrapper of each dumplings, each has own "wheat-y flavor" itself. Each dumpling wrapper hits a perfect thickness/thinness. And they were flawlessly/carefully cooked - boiled/steamed to achieve soft and chewy texture, pan fried to execute crispy, soft and chewy texture. The each filling hits perfect seasoning balance - and juicy! Delicious! B12 Crab XLB & P1 Pot stickers are the must-order items. If you don't know which dumpling to try, then I highly recommend D7 (Celery and Pork, boiled). Juicy with this refreshing crunchy celery texture and gentle grassy aroma. Full of juice! Careful :) N3 noodle was also tasty and generous. The noodle texture was chewy and had a nice bite. A LOT of meat pieces. Last but not the least - C11, black fungus was soooo refreshing. Every bite was enjoyable. Very mildly seasoned with vinegar based dressing and garlic, mixed with freshly chopped coriander. Simple and delicate, showing their culinary confidence. I will come back, I cannot wait to try other dumplings!

It's been offering Dim Sum and mostly Cantonese cuisine for decades, 24 hours a day. Based on previous Yelp reviews, the quality is inconsistent. Today, it ranged from outstanding to acceptable. I was one of a group of four, and we arrived around 5:15 p.m. for an early dim sum dinner. The decor was clean, comfortable and a bit dated. Two of my dining companions had been coming to Perfect since childhood, and the slightly worn decor was, for them, traditional and comforting as a pair of old slippers. As long-time visitors, they had some recommendations to make: we ordered Shiu Mai and Har Gow (as usual), steamed BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed Glutinous Rice, Pea's Green Shrimp Dumpling, Beef Ball, Deep Fried Squid and Cheung Fun (Rice Roll) with Shrimp and Leek. Here's my rating /5: 5/5: Har Gow; Cheung Fun; Pea's Green Shrimp Dumpling 4/5: Beef Ball; Deep Fried Squid; Shiu Mai, Steamed Glutinous Rice 3.5/5: Steamed BBQ Pork Bun The Har Gow, Cheung Fun and Shrimp Dumpling all featured a translucent, starchy dough. At worst, this dough can be too chewy or too thick but tonight, at Perfect Chinese, it was indeed perfect, and beautifully translucent, allowing the colors of the fillings to shine through. The Pea's Green Shrimp Dumplings were particularly beautiful. They tasted as good as they looked, with the fresh taste of the pea greens complimenting the shrimp. The Har Gow were plump, generous and the shrimp was nicely cooked, not at all rubbery or tough. The Cheung Fun was also excellent, beautifully complemented by the slightly warm, sweet soy sauce. The Beef Ball was beautifully aromatic and well seasoned, but I would have preferred them to be a bit more tender and less bouncy in texture, and otherwise would have been 5/5 for flavour. However, this could be how the texture is meant to be. The other 4.5 dishes were excellent, but not outstanding. The Steamed Pork Bun was very good, but I wish the BBQ pork filling had been more generous. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and our food arrived in a timely fashion. However it was, at times, difficult to get the attention of waitstaff. At 5:15, parking was plentiful, but the lot is rather small, and I could see the possibility that at popular times, such as weekend brunch, it could be tight. The Perfect Chinese Restaurant takes both cash and cards, and is conveniently located near Highway 401. In short, the Perfect Chinese Restaurant is ambitious, well-established, open all the time, possibly inconsistent, fairly priced, and offers a very good dim sum, among other options. Come here for the Dim Sum, for sure. You can satisfy your Dim Sum craving night and day!! Worth noting: they offer a whole Peking Duck for a very reasonable price, they offer a rather pricey Crab Claw Hors D'oeuvre that my dining companions raved about, and they have a good selection of fresh seafood. I saw a number of tables ordering the lobster. Next time, I will check out some of their seafood offerings and some of their other dim sum selections. I've also heard some good things about their noodle dishes.
