I stopped going to Magic Nails months ago. I had been going there for mani pedis twice a month for 10 years. I know each tech is different but I specifically said to Patrick NO DRILL and he insisted he could not do my nails unless he used it on me. Mind you none of the other techs there who had done my nails used a drill on my nails. He then proceeded to move on with my main and just leave the remaining shellac he wanted to drill off on my nails. He was for real just going to finish and leave my nails all rough and lumpy because I did not want him to use the drill on my natural nails. Finally I was tired of being talked down to I stood up gave him $5 for the work he did and left. I went down the street to a different salon who took me right away and made my nails look exactly how I wanted them and that is now my regular place. Sadly Magic Nails over the years has let the salon go and stopped caring about their clientele. read more

I had an appointment four days ago for dipped nails. This is the result. The technician roughed up the top of my nails when I told him not to, didn't trim anything or take care of the cuticles and didn't file the edges properly when he was finishing up. Now on top of this shoddy job of a manicure that is supposed to last SIX WEEKS I have chipped up, super thin, breakable nails underneath that I'm going to have to deal with for months after this. I'm so offended and disgusted I can't even make myself call them to complain or ask them to redo their work. I'm just not going back. Ever. 0/10 would never recommend someone to go here. read more

I wasn't a fan. My wife wanted to get her nails done so I opted to get a mani/pedi while I was there waiting for her (don't judge). The girl who I had was very anti social and barely said two words to me. She was younger and spoke perfect English too so she didn't have that as her excuse. For my pedicure, she rushed through it and missed a bunch of spots. I don't get many of these done (maybe one a year) but the massage chair was set to 20 minutes and still had just under six minutes left when she told me she was done. In the past I could have sworn that it took a lot longer than that. She also did such a bad job cutting my toenails that I had to trim them and fix some snags when I got home. As for the manicure it too was rushed and she was trying to go so fast that as she was clipping my nails she was catching some of the skin too. She also cut so far back on my cuticles that they bled (she the attached photo). Like with my toenails I had to fix a couple when I got back home to correct some snags and uneven nails. Overall it was just a really bad and unpleasant experience and I for one will not be going back there. With so many of these shops everywhere you look, they should really make an effort to do a good job and make it a positive experience to drum up repeat customers. Very disappointed with the pricing structure here. I've been to many nail salons and have never been charged $52 for fill ins. I get regular acrylic fill ins with a shallac finish. Normally runs $32-35 tops. They charged me for shellac + fill ins + take off of old shellac finish. I've been wearing fake nails for 17 years and never encountered such blatant price gouging. When I asked the guy why he charged so much he shrugged and said that's the price. Yeah they look nice but for $52 they better last a month. I won't be going back. read more

I was getting my car worked on and had a hour to spare. I went in to get a mani/pedi. The boy seemed nice enough, but very antisocial. He did an awful job on my pedicure. I still had callouses (which is the reason I get pedis to beign with) he dug into the side of my nail until it started bleeding. Never experienced a pedicure so bad. My manicure was ok, but in the middle of it he asks cash or credit. I give him my credit card, no where does it say you cant tip on credit card or that I have to say anything to them if I want to tip on my credit care, and he brings back the slip with the tip value filled in as 0. I reiterated that I wanted to tip on the card, and he shrugged his shoulders and states 'you have to tell me before I run the card'. That would have been nice to know. Then I go and sit under their nail dryers for the suggested amount of time, only 30 minutes after 6 out of 10 of my nails are chipped, smudged or ruined. Ridiculous! Will never make that mistake again. Lets also not forget how unprofessional they are all of the workers are sitting on their phones laying in the pedicure chairs and one of them is literally sleeping on the couch for customers. read more

I chose this place based on the one and only review that gave it great reviews. Bad choice. Things were fine when I walked in... or I guess as to be expected in a discount nail place like this... someone lying on the couch greeted me nicely and asked what I needed. I told her a mani/pedi and she said ok. I asked if there would be a wait, and she said no and told me to come sit immediately. I don't know why, but I stupidly started walking to a manicure chair. I confess, it's been a year since I've been in a salon, so maybe that was dumb, but when she came up to me and said, "No, we do feet first," I said, ok, and then she went on and said, "You don't want to walk around with wet nails." I said, "Well that makes sense," already uncomfortable at the way she said it, and then she looked at me like I was stupid. Not so nice. THEN, she tells me to test the water. I stick a finger in before stepping up to sit down and she says, "NO, with your feet. Your hands are later!" SERIOUSLY, LADY??? I should have walked out then. I understand her sentiment was that she felt I was being stupid, but I was too pissed at that point to even say anything... Nothing like people assuming they know why you do what you do. I admit, I then rolled my eyes at her in a "You can shut up now, manner." She did a really good job on the bottom of my feet, in all honesty. But the paint job is crap. Two days later I can see through it, and it's supposed to be red, but it is almost that see through pinkish base layer color and I'm not sure how that happened since she did apply two coats, so maybe it's the product they use. But she didn't cover my toes well. And every pedicure I've ever had always has that "shiny pedicure glow" that you know can only be achieved at a salon. Mine looks like I did it at home with no base coat, no second coat, and no top coat, even though she did apply all of those! Oh, and at one point, she actually told me, "Hold your foot up, you have to help me," while she scrubbed. I swear by then I thought, "Maybe I'm the problem here," but in retrospect, I've never had a single problem at any salon where I've had a pedicure, ever. So, then we go to my nails and that part was much less eventful, thankfully. She was pleasant and made small talk. I always tip 20%. That's just my minimum. I tipped before she painted my nails. When she finished my french manicure I noticed there were white cloudy blotches on the white part of three of my nails. Two days later, three nails with the french manicure have chipped. I already repainted them and let's just say the new red on my fingers is much prettier than the red on my toes. Maybe this is what comes with a seriously super cheap deal ($30 for mani/pedi total), but with that kind of service and results, it cannot accurately be called a deal, just a cheap job. read more

This place was terrible. They do not sterilize their tools. They simply wash them in your dirty foot water and spray them with alcohol. Every time a customer would walk in, the owners wife would roll her eyes and then speak in a different language at which would make the other workers jump up and annoyingly tend to the customers. It was just a very negative atmosphere. Almost made you feel like you were asking them for a huge favor, rather than it being a business which you are paying for their services. They have been opened 10 wonderful years and i always leave there happy with a beautiful manicure. My husband gets a pedicure once a month and he too is one happy customer when he leaves with his happy feet. My daughter who lives out of state always goes in for a gel manicure when visiting and is always pleased. Her only wish is to have more color choices for the gel. read more

I also have tried many nail places. I live close and decided to give this place a try. Now I have been going for 3 years. Kelli is the head girl of the shop and she is fabulous. If you become a regular customer, you are given a set of your own manicure tools which are yours alone to use. They are kept in a box and stored for you. They do take walk ins any time and there is always enough employees to go around. They are all eager to please you and attend to your nail needs. read more

Me giving this one star rating is even too nice. I have been to magic nails a handful of times and have never been disappointed. Last night I left my house at 6:50 to get a mani/pedi. The online hours say 8:00, however they close at 7. Returned this afternoon, got greeted very nicely and immediately the owner gave me my much needed pedicure. All went very well until my acrylic with shellac was almost finished. My color on my nails didn't match the color at all which I picked out. The lady blamed me for not opening the bottle to ensure I wanted it...(what?) and also two other members of the staff there were insinuating it was my fault for the error. I accepted, and said I will pay for new no problem. Still received negative attitude from my nail artist. She kept saying "again" and "we just did this." To insinuate her dissatisfaction of redoing my color. I exclaimed I could go elsewhere to avoid her being backed up if she didn't want my buisness and she said "no" so I just simply asked her not to be nasty to me. Tried making small talk the next awkward half hour but she was uninterested in speaking to me. Until I gave her a $20 tip of course. Then she was very happy. Will NEVER return. read more
