This is a standard nail salon, nothing fancy about it, but they absolutely get the job done. Prices are fair enough, for ~$40 plus a tip, I was able to get a very neat and efficient shellac manicure. I went as a walk-in around 5-6pm on a weekday and was seen right away. The pedicure chairs seemed a bit more busy, so consider this as only advice for the manicure services. Went in for a manicure and nail polish. Communication is difficult. Topcoat was put on despite being able to see blotches of skin underneath the solid colored nail polish. Nail tech send irritated when asked to fix the areas. Even after fixing, none of my nails stayed solid and continued to get imprints to the point of needing to be removed. Not recommended. read more

Love this place. It was my first time here and i thought the facility was clean, the people were friendly and super nice! While we were finishing up a horrible karen came in complaining and screaming about the quality of her nails. There were children in the facility and she was just downright disgusting to the staff. Her micro (boarding macro) aggression comments were horrific and demands for action that were unrealistic were gross. The staff handled the situation with grace and attempted to find resolution and she huffed and puffed the whole time. I would 100% come back here and highly recommended it for anyone (unless you have a stick up your ass). Left feeling absolutely satisfied and recommend highly! Today wasn't my best day due to the new desk lady walking up on my mom and I asking if mom had paid for her nails. First time, not sure I'll go back. I got a full set of acrylics two days ago from a woman who was rushing the entire time and being so careless that she sliced open two of my fingers making them bleed, and she had to start three of my nails over because she glued the tip on so haphazardly that they were barely hanging on to my nail. I pointed out to her that one of the nails she did was extremely crooked and she spent about a second "fixing" it which did nothing so I gave up. She spoke soooo quietly, and with a mask on and a plastic screen between us that meant I could barely hear anything she was saying, and she didn't seem to understand half the questions I asked her. I gave 2 stars because the nails look fine, but she really did not need to manhandle my hands the way she did. If she had been less careless she wouldn't have had to spend so much time fixing mistakes and cutting my fingers. read more

Okay so I don't want to be too harsh here, but I was not impressed with my experience. I generally go to my cousin for my acrylics, but the drive was getting to be too long. So I wanted to try somewhere closer. I saw the reviews were pretty good, so I called and made an appointment for a full set. The nail tech was friendly, but wasn't really listening to what I was wanting. The color she chose was not at all what I was looking for, and the shapes of my nails were all over the place. Crooked and angled. She was able to complete the entire set in 35 minutes, which was too fast in my opinion. After a week of having them, they all started lifting off and they are all now completely off. I can't say I would recommend this salon for acrylics. The price was just as high as my usual nail tech, who does a 1000% better job. Maybe their regular gel manicures are better. read more

I have been a customer for almost 15 years here and will never return again! I am there A LOT which means I spend a lot with them. I emailed the owner earlier this week with no response, which is disrespectful, so here I go! The customer service has gone down hill, the owner Sam is greedy AF and I have seen and heard of so many long waits, decline in cleanliness and price gauging. My daughter waited 45 minutes a few weeks ago to get services done and then she finally walked out. The girl I booked with this week was rushed off my services to start another customer. I didn't appreciate that a bit. The owner, Sam, then completed my manicure and then accused me of not booking my appointment correctly on line and that being an excuse for my modified services. Isn't the customer always right?! I also am questioned all the time why my mother hasn't come back there, I've made excuses for too long and shouldn't be questionEd anyhow. Once I responded I once again get pissed and feel uncomfortable with them talking in another language to each other which means they are talking shit me which they do all the time about all the customers or various situations, it's extremely rude as we all know! There is a salon on almost every block, so when customers come they should be treated like you're happy to have them and that has been lost at Mi Nails. Sam needs to worry about his salons reputation and fix things because the cleanliness and the customer service decline doesn't go unnoticed. Honestly. I came here like three years ago and they ruined my nails with the worst acrylics I've ever received. I needed my eyebrows done and got a wax, which waxed off half my left brow and it's just now starting to grow back decently. Due to the lock down my nail place is closed so I came here to get my acrylics REMOVED until my place opens back up. The process ruined my nails yet again and the polish chipped within three days. I removed the nail polish and noticed there was a lot of acrylic still left on my nails and it was breaking off in chunks. Do not go here if you're looking for quality. read more

My first visit was nice so I returned but was very disappointed. I got a Pedicure and then sat in the chair for a full set. However, the nail tech began doing my natural nails. I stopped her and said I needed a full set. My nails are very short because I am a nail biter. She looked upset and put me in a young man's chair that had on purple nails; I'm only mentioning this so you know who he is. Well, he got up stating that he was going to the bathroom but came back smelling like smoke. He also smelled like he hadn't bathed in a while. He had a very bad attitude. He wanted to do an overlay on my nails before putting on the tips; I told him I don't want him to do that. He got an attitude about that and decided to sand my real nails purposely to hurt me. He didn't need to sand my real nails at all since the girl before him had given me a full manicure without knowing I needed a full set. He then began to put the nail on again deliberately sanding my nails after I told him it was hot and hurting me, when all he needed to do was turn the machine down. He then began cutting the nails down and filing them. I noticed that one of my nails was fatter that the rest. He asked me was everything okay, I told him one nail is fatter than the rest. He shook his head at me upset again because he had to file the nail down to look like the rest. The reason the nail was fatter than the rest is because he put the wrong size nail on my finger. I said you really don't want to do my nails, why are you acting this way. Then I hear him talking with the other people in the salon in their language and I know they were talking about me; One of the ladies came over and stood beside him looking at my hands while they were talking. Smdh!! I couldn't wait to get out of there!! My nails looked lumpy! And my feet are itching today. I was charged $120 for this mess. They are getting too cocky!! up charging while taking advantage of people. Run! Don't let them fool you; they don't like us, only our money. I will never go there again!!! read more

I've wanted to try this place for a while since it is less than 5 min from my house, so I went in 2 weeks ago to get acrylics put on. I made an appt earlier in the day and arrived on time, only to find that they gave my appt to someone else. They asked if it was ok if I saw someone else. Seeing as I hadn't been there before, it really didn't bother me. A young man put on the acrylics, and did it so fast. They were EXTREMELY bulky and he never even cleaned underneath the tip where all the gunk gets. Such a poor, rushed job! Then they handed me off, to what looked like the receptionist. I showed her a basic picture of a white nail and ombre chunky glitter to the tip. They didn't have chunky glitter in shellac, so they offered to do a regular manicure over the acrylics. The receptionist slopped on the white, making a mistake and not fixing it, saying "Oh, the glitter will cover it up". Again, very rushed job, she slopped on the glitter on the top. No ombre whatsoever! And on a white nail, the distinction was VERY noticeable. My friends who saw the work after it was done were shocked at how horrible my nails were. I literally came home that day and took off the polish and did my nails on my own. Looked 10x better than at the salon I just paid for. Today I proceeded to go to another nail salon in Grosse Pointe Park for fills (will remain unnamed because I'm only on here to review MI Nails), and to get them fixed, since I've been there before and they do a great job. When the lady looked at my nails, she asked where I had been because they were so terrible. We were laughing at how bad my acrylics were done. She couldn't even do fills because they were so thick and could take them off without soaking them in remover. DON'T ever go to this salon!! As I unfortunately found out, you get what you pay for. I will never go back, and I have told all that I know around the area to never go as well. read more

So to start off this place overbooks and makes you sit around and wait for your "appointment". But why I'm really writing this review is because I got a pedicure and before leaving the salon they were smudging even though I was sitting for an hour. I used two colors and the guy told me after they smudged that it was my fault for mixing colors. He then "fixes" it by adding a color that was different that the two we used. I explained I didn't want this and I'd prefer he fixed it the right way. He said he would start completely over but I should upgrade to gel and it would cost $20 more. I asked if he'd just discount the rate since I had to leave and couldn't come back. He then raised his voice and yells at me in front of everyone " I HAVE NO DISCOUNT FOR YOU- YOU SHOULDNT HAVE MIXED THE COLORS" I asked why I wasn't told this from the get go and he said because we do what the customer wants. So basically he was gas lighting me when he had an opportunity to make it right and I would have returned. All of this could have been avoided if he gave his opinion upfront rather than doing a half assed job and then blaming me for it and making me feel dumb in front of a room full of people. Would not recommend. Going home and taking the polish immediately off. read more

I had visited this place around 3-4 times and it was ok they did a good job overall though the customer service wasn't as great as they barely talk to you but kept coming back because of location and how fast they are. But last week that I went again, the guy that did my nails was very rude as he hurt me by ripping my gel nails without any removal cotton, just ripping it out with a sharp tool and hurt a lot. When telling this he said nothing and kept doing it and being very tough and pulling my hands not delicate at all.
