Instead they estimated the repairs based on their honest opinion at $640. That takes integrity and an understanding that reputation generates revenue in the car repair business. I had seen Randie's Garage on Chamblee Tucker Road for years because they are practically in my back yard. I decided to give them a try when my Acura's clutch started to fail. I dropped the car off in their night lot, and the next morning I got a courteous and friendly call from the owner himself. You are not a number here. The quoted price for a new clutch plus installation was reasonable and seemed like a fair deal...especially compared to dealer pricing. I often say that you can tell more about a business when things go wrong, because people's true colors come to the surface. This story has a happy ending, but it started out with a unforeseen problem. I picked the car up on a Friday and to make a long story short, the master clutch cylinder died over the weekend making the car inoperable. That item was not what was quoted on or replaced with the clutch, but is related. Why would I still give Randie's 5 stars? Because, Randie warranties his work and is incredibly honest. When I called him Monday morning he listened to what I had to say, and I was not too happy at the time. He then promised that the issue would be fixed... without costing me a dime more. He was personally interested in making this right because his name is on the sign and he takes pride in what he does. The solution included a tow to the garage and a brand new master clutch cylinder. True to his word, I did not pay a cent more, and the car drives great. Try to find another garage that stands behind their work like this... Good luck. I am now a repeat customer who feels like he is treated with respect, appreciation, and fairness. It is extremely rare to find these qualities in auto shop. Four days later, I checked my brake pads and tire tread and discovered nails in my tires. The mechanic never mentioned them or documented them on the paperwork--not even as a safety warning. I also noticed that the lug bolts on two of my wheels were stripped. When I called again on Monday, the lead mechanic told me it wasn't their fault and blamed whoever had previously removed the wheels even though they had just performed my tire rotation. Once again, there was no accountability. I wouldn't have had an issue if the work had been completed carefully and the business had taken responsibility for its mistakes. I came here because I wanted to support a local business, but based on my experience, I strongly recommend that customers double-check all work before leaving. Chris, it amazes me that you continue claiming there are "a lot of gray areas" when multiple reviews describe concerns similar to mine. You refuse to take accountability. Outstanding Work and Customer Service!…read more I can't say enough good things about Daniel and the guys at Extreme Performance Muffler! These guys have completely transformed my 2021 BMW 540i. They started by unlocking my ECU, tuning my car to Stage 2, and installing a catless downpipe. Most recently, they performed a muffler delete and fabricated a custom performance Y-pipe along with a custom straight-pipe axle-back setup. The quality of their work has been nothing short of exceptional! Everything was done flawlessly, and the attention to detail and craftsmanship really show. My car sounds absolutely incredible, and the performance is on another level! It's hard to find a shop that delivers both quality performance upgrades and outstanding workmanship, but Extreme Performance Muffler has exceeded my expectations every time. I would highly recommend…read morethinking twice before bringing your vehicle to this shop, especially if you own a high-end or expensive car. My entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and honestly very disappointing. I originally brought my BMW M5 in to have aftermarket downpipes installed and to have my exhaust valve system fixed because it was no longer working. During the installation, I was told that the downpipes didn't fit properly and that he would need to get flanges from a "partner shop" to make them work. I agreed to this, assuming everything would be handled properly. However, after leaving the shop, I discovered that my original catalytic converters had been taken without my permission. When I questioned him about it, he told me he had used them for the flanges and scrapped the remaining metal. This was NEVER discussed or agreed upon beforehand. What makes the situation even more suspicious is that when I demanded my original downpipes be replaced, he was suddenly able to get a "new set" the very next day. Unfortunately, that wasn't even the end of the problems. When I initially picked up my car, the exhaust valves appeared to be working. However, almost immediately after driving off the lot, they stopped functioning again. I called to explain the issue and ask for a solution. Instead of taking responsibility or offering to inspect his work, he told me that he needed to do some research to figure out why they weren't working. I never received a follow-up call. After getting nowhere, I took my BMW M5 to another exhaust shop for a second opinion. They inspected the system and discovered that all of the valve wiring had been burned due to what they identified as an improper installation. I contacted the original shop again to explain what had been found. Rather than listening to my concerns, he immediately insisted that it wasn't possible. We went back and forth over the phone until I sent him photographic evidence of the damaged wiring. Only then did he tell me to bring the vehicle back so he could repair it. I dropped my car off again, expecting the issue to finally be resolved. Instead, he called me afterward to say he couldn't fix it that day and that he was leaving town the following day for TWO WEEKS. His solution was to hand me the parts and leave me to find another shop to complete the repair myself. My biggest issue is that this is a BMW M5, not a vehicle you should be experimenting on or learning as you go. These are expensive, high-performance cars, and the parts and repairs are not cheap. If a shop doesn't have the experience, knowledge, or confidence to properly work on a vehicle like this, they should be upfront about it and decline the job instead of accepting someone's money and potentially causing more damage. You should not be working on expensive vehicles if you don't know what you're doing. Customers trust these businesses with vehicles they've worked hard to purchase, and that trust should be taken seriously. Between the removal and scrapping of my original catalytic converters without my authorization, the damaged valve wiring, the lack of communication, and the complete failure to follow through on fixing his own work, this experience has been unacceptable. I trusted this business with my BMW M5 and paid for work that was not completed properly. Instead of receiving professional service, I was left dealing with additional problems, wasted time, and the inconvenience of finding another shop to fix the installation. I would not recommend this shop to anyone, especially owners of luxury or high-performance vehicles. If you aren't qualified to work on certain cars, don't accept the job. It's that simple. Extremely disappointing experience, very questionable business practices, and I will absolutely not be returning.
