David Mai at Solomotorsports is awesome. I had been taking my 2019 BMW X7 to another BMW specialist in Gainesville for years. Just spent more than 4k to fix a coolant leak. After that the car AC stopped working and acting strange. Brought it back and was told to replace the entire AC system for another 5.5k. I was then referred to David Mai at Solo Motorsport by a relative. He tested it for a day. Found a coolant reservoir was bone dry. Cleaned it and filled it up. Took my car in because I had a coolant light come on ,and my car was overheating . They end up changing my thermostat and and some other thing which I ended up paying over 3k! When I got my car back , the car was still overheating ! Took it back because they give a "3 year warranty" , and again , car overheating ! Found out from a friend it's overheating because of a radiator fan not working which he doesn't even work on Mercedes and he figured it out .. took it back to solo motor sports and he gave me a appraisal for $900 to change the fan when they should of saw the problem from the start ! I said no thanks , and went to go pick up my car and he said he felt bad for me and he would fix , When I went to go pick up my car they charged me $300 ? What warranty ? Car still overheating and fan radiator doesn't work ! Got cussed out because I was wanting an update on MY car that took 2 week to get back and nothing was fixed. Was made to feel like he's doing me a favor fixing it , and I shouldn't be calling for an update when I've spent so much money already . THEY SAY they "specialize" in foreign cars (Mercedes) , but all they gave me was gangster vibes and stole my money .I was nothing but respectful and trusting of them at first , who cusses out a customer because they just want an update and tell them to hold on and send me straight to voicemail . I brought my car to Solo Motorsports - Norcross specifically to have my steering wheel reprogrammed or a sensor fixed to correct its position. I made this request clearly multiple times, including in my initial visit--as they claim everything is recorded. I approved only this specific service after speaking directly with Keenan Cole. Instead of performing the requested work, they went ahead and replaced a solenoid, a completely different repair that I did not authorize. When I followed up, I was met with rudeness and disrespect. To add further frustration, my car has a brand-new engine with low miles, making the unauthorized solenoid replacement unnecessary and wasn't needed at this moment--especially when the actual issue, the steering wheel/sensors, was ignored and are more important. To make matters worse, the employee told me and my mother, "I'm not dealing with you type of people," a blatantly racist remark referring to us as Black customers. This was said in response to us seeking clarity--not even a discount--on a job I did not ask for in the first place. They overcharged me for labor, billing me for 7 hours even though their own notes state the job took only 30 minutes. Initially quoted me a little under $800, but charged $1,097.74 without explanation. Left my car dirty inside, which was not the condition it was in when I dropped it off. Became annoyed simply because my mother called beforehand to ask for clarification. This experience was not only unprofessional but felt racially motivated and predatory. To add further evidence of their deceptive practices, Solo Motorsports initially tried to claim I needed a brand-new engine--a blatant lie, since my car already has a new, low-mileage engine installed. When I refused this unnecessary and fraudulent upsell, they proceeded to ignore my actual request (reprogramming the steering wheel/sensor) and instead performed an unauthorized solenoid replacement--another repair I never approved. This confirms a clear pattern of dishonesty: first, they attempted to scare me into an outrageous, fake repair, and when that failed, they forced through a different unauthorized service. Their actions go beyond incompetence; this is a deliberate scam targeting customers for work they don't need. Also upcharged me for an aftermarket part--charged me $221.60 for a part that was not from BMW and only costs $140 online. Not only did they leave the inside of my car dirty but they also left my undercover of my car unscrewed, showing their complete lack of care for my property. They took my car on an unauthorized joyride, using up my gas without refilling it. They also talked badly about my car, saying the front end looks horrible and I should just blow up the car--completely unprofessional behavior from a so-called "professional" shop. Now, after all this, their only response is to call my frustration "unfortunate" while still refusing to address the original issue with my steering wheel that I brought the car in for. They performed zero requested repairs and did not fix anything, charged me over $1,000 for unauthorized work, disrespected me and my family, damaged my car, and now won't take accountability. I'm filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and warning all potential customers to avoid this dishonest, racist business at all costs. read more

He was professional and heard me out and stated that he would check it out. The engine was repairable, and he kept me in the loop during the entire process which took less than a week. While this is a costly job, I am confident that Nick and his team did things right. The car drives like new, and in the end, I found my new shop. My SL 550 dash warning indicators made my car light up like a Christmas Tree. I thought I was going to experience several thousands of dollars of diagnostics, senor replacement, etc and Solo was able to reset everything and did not charge a penny. Juan Lopez is an ace mechanic and he did a professional job on my brakes, shocks, and tie rods; on time and on budget. He also an identified and prevented a potential transmission issue that could have been a complete disaster. I recently took my car to Solo Motorsports in Norcross, and I am beyond disappointed with the poor quality of service and the lack of accountability I received. Not only did they fail to properly install a set of coilovers, but they also created new problems that weren't there before. I had to bring my vehicle back 2 weeks later because the nut holding the top of my passenger side rear shock fell off, and apparently repaired it by placing an aftermarket nut on the shock (minus a washer). This created a new problem as the same nut fell off again causing the top of the shock to come in contact with underside of my car damaging the threads rendering the shock useless. The customer service I received each visit was equally disappointing. Despite explaining how imperative it was to get the installation right because I'd be moving to another state soon, I felt ignored and rushed. No one was interested in performing a thorough inspection to ensuring the problem was properly resolved. When I notified them that the same nut fell off again, this time damaging the shock beyond useability, they were dismissive and unhelpful, refusing to take responsibility for their shoddy work. I regret trusting Solo Motorsports with my car and strongly advise anyone who is considering using them to pick another shop. I will be starting the customization of my Lexus LS460 elsewhere. These guys are horrible, and I would think twice before allowing them to touch your car. I had a routine oil change done on my Porsche Panamera, and these guys couldn't get that right. Prior to service my vehicle had zero leaks. No issues at all. I just needed a routine oil change. Immediately after the service, I notice that my car had began to leak. I had my wife call to inform the shop that the car was leaking, but do to scheduling conflict, I was unable to bring it back in the next day. Today I bought the car back in, and I had the displeasure of being helped by Keenan. After placing the car on a lift he, informed me that it was his observation that the car had been leaking for a very long time. However, this is impossible. Instead of even considering some degree of accountability, Keenan began to do what all dishonest, shady repair shops do whenever a customer leaves their shop with mechanical issues that did not exist prior to entrusting them with the repair of their beloved vehicle. He immediately shifted the blame solely off of his shop and onto me....the customer. He insisted that my car had somehow been leaking "invisible" oil for months. The reason I can confidently say that it is impossible that the leak was previously there is twofold. Firstly, my vehicle is meticulously garaged kept. If there was an oil leak, I would have noticed it immediately because my garage floor was new and without any stains or blemishes before they performed their dis-repair. Secondly, if there had been an oil leak prior to them servicing my car, the tech who performed the oil change would have brought it to someones attention. And, they would have notified me of the issue and proceeded to up-charge me for additional repairs on the day of the original service. They ABSOLUTELY would not have passed on an opportunity to make more money by performing additional services. My car is now leaking profusely (see photos). And once placed on the lift for repairs, any mechanic worth his or her weight in salt would have IMMEDIATELY noticed that there was an oil leak of this magnitude if it had already existed. This shop is not reputable, and you should absolutely not entrust them with your car. Especially, if you depend on and/or take pride in your vehicle. The correct thing to do would have been to at least examine the possibility that there was maybe some fault on their end. That is what any reputable service provider would have done. To insist that your mechanics are without mistake is complete nonsense and very unrealistic. Steer clear of Solo Motor Sport and find a repair shop that stands by its products and services no matter the cost. read more

Let me start by stating one thing you should always do when leaving your vehicle with Solo Motorsport. Always ask for your old parts back, when they are remove from the vehicle to ensure that the new parts are on your vehicle. They can return new parts back to the company they or you purchased them from. Secondly, notice the last name of the satisfied customers on their front page. Having said that, Alec with Solo Motorsport Northside have had my vehicle possibly over a month. I took the vehicle in because I had a light out, the horn would not blow, and the mini screen would not come up. Initially, I was told that they were not working because the vehicle had shut down due to some unknown cause. They did a diagnostic and found that the vehicle needed a oil spacer. They installed the new part return the car back to me. My initial complaint was not address, which was suppose to be the cause for the vehicle shutting down. The horn still was not blowing, which is very dangerous for me and and anyone who is walking out in front of the vehicle or about to back into me. The mini screen was inoperable just like I gave it to them. I did not leave with the vehicle. We were told later that they were sure it was not a fuse problem. That it was a more expensive complicated problem. We called Audi for a price check. Call Autosport to tell them that we were buying the part. Alec did not like that idea. He wanted to purchase the parts. Alec said they may give us the wrong parts. I stated that we were getting them from Audi and we can get them a lot cheaper than the price he quoted us. Alec did not like that idea. There was some back and forth. I asked Alec, what is the difference? The parts are still coming from Audi. We called Audi purchased the parts on Wed. October 23rd to be sent to Solo Motorsports Northside. We were told that the parts would be there the next day the 24th. They were delivered to Sons Chevrolet on Tuesday Octo. 29. I drove to Columbus and picked them up myself and delivered them to Solo Motorsport Northside. They were intentionally delayed and delivered to the wrong address. We have a phone recording stating to John Marcheese at Audi where to deliver the parts. I delivered the parts. Alec said because the parts was not deliver as promised he could not get to my car until sometimes the next week that he had other vehicle ahead of minds. They had my vehicle for weeks and placed other vehicles ahead of minds and this is his position. Absolutely not, he was livid about not being able to make the money he wanted to make off of us. He called John at Audi and intentionally sabotage the delivery process. Friends in high places. I called Audi to ask what would be the delivery time to deliver a part to Columbus Georgia. Alec was not there. The rep said two days. If they were sent to Solo Motorsports like we request, they would have been there the next day. My perspective is Alec at Solo Motorsport Northside called John in parts, at Audi and to intentionally try and cause me emotionally distress. I shared with him I needed my truck I have doctor appointments. These people take our money and they do not care about giving us their best efforts. Again, notice the last name of the customers that wrote they were treated with care and dignity. These kind of businesses are known to take advantage of people. Had two oil changes done and now I have missing screws holding up my engine protector plate. Had them replace my tie rods with heavy duty and the vehicle kept shaking - they said it would cost me $4000 to replace the rack and pinion "and I am sure we will find other problems..." I brought the vehicle to another shop - they moved the boot away and tightened the joint - saying who did this before did not double check for tightness. My car had no issue prior to bringing it to them - and the worst part is they would NOT double check their own work - ego too big for service work. Dear Solo Motorsports of Norcross & Johns creek, let's start by saying you guys are one of the slimmest shops in Atlanta area. Not only do you guys lie but you can't even diagnose a car correctly. I was told by multiple employees that I was too cheap on buying a $2300 OEM turbo for a car that has 400k miles and I said I would be fine with a less expensive $1000 turbo. Not only will they make a mistake but will try to blame it on you. One of the owners named Tony refused to pay the full amount of the windshield tint that they scratched saying "my guys would never do that" instead giving me $70 to go fix a $400 job that his other tint shop said they can't do. Noticed a wierd noise while driving slow speeds and asked for someone to check it out. Discovered I wasn't there just to replace the window, they also replaced the four of five missing lugnuts on one of my wheels. One member of the team said it was a miracle I drove there and made it in one piece! My estimate was pretty spot on and they suprised me with the wait time. Originally I was told to pick up my car around 4:00, but work was completed around 12:00. I felt the team went above and beyond. I will gladly return next month for my oil change and for all my future car needs. As a female, not knowing too much about cars, it's difficult to trust any shop. Unfortunate that a shop of this level treats customers this poorly. We were completely shocked by the lack of professionalism and communication. We had brought in our 2018 Dodge 3500 that had a no start issue. The overall experience was pretty rough from beginning to end. We were under the impression that it would take 2-3 days to diagnose and correct the issue but because of lack of communication it ended up being 2 weeks. They showed no sense of urgency and we as a business need our equipment to operate. We at least trust that they had the decency to actually reprogram the ECU like they said but our problem remains the same. The truck does not start and there is no sign of progress. Not only did they cost us 2 weeks of time, not show any sign of progress on fixing the issue, they also left the front dash in which the ECU is located completely unassembled (picture included). We tried getting in contact with a manager to resolve the issue because at the end of the day we need the truck up and running, but were essentially ignored and told that they were not interested in dealing with us. They did refund us the full amount after assuring us that "they were not worried about it" which we assumed was referring to the cost of the invoice. Thats great that they're not worried about losing time or money but as a business that relies on our trucks to perform service WE are worried about it. Honestly never really leave reviews and the shop itself seems very legit just a shame that management or whatever the problem is, shows no concern for customer satisfaction even after reaching out to simply resolve the issue. read more

They also alerted me to a CV joint issue and were able to replace the CV Shaft on the same day as the other work. On my S4 Avant I recently had Solo troubleshoot my air conditioning system. BUT, when I got there, I asked what would be my price with taxes and after checking on the computer for a long time the guy said $358!!!!! This is $260 MORE EXPENSIVE THAT THE ORIGINAL QUOTE. I asked about the difference and even showed you the emails I got from them with the original quote and his answer was oh well that is only Oil change... Did I ask on my original message about oil change? NO I asked about the whole B1 maintenance!! They just want to squeeze the more money they can. Yelp folks - the software loaded onto the car by Solo bypassed any warnings/codes to the driver (without our knowledge) I.e., oil check, overheating engine, etc). We ended up replacing the engine!!! Our mechanic told us to immediately have Solo remove the replace the original software. When Solo removed and replaced (thank goodness they copy original software before replacing) our car immediately started reading codes. Merciless? I say NO. read more

Right low beam malfunction error popped up on my 2011 BMW X5D. Called the delaership (wont name the 1 of the 2 in ATL) xenon bulb part alone $280. Went to said dealership told me $500 to install. Called a few non dealership shops for price quotes. Called up these guys (Solo) and they had the lowet quote. Same day in less than 1 hour changed the bulb for $165 total, parts included. Everyone there was super cool, and the guy who changed the bulb, David, had some of the best conversation i have had in quite a while. Anybody who own a VW in Atlanta knows that its hard to find a mechanic that's not going to take you over the coals for every little problem that the car has. I took my 06 Passat to Solo to get the oil changed and Boris quoted me a price $20 dollars cheaper than Karma VW in Decatur. Ok, I say, I'll get them to do this small job, just to see how it goes. They, needless to say based on their reviews, did a really fast job of it, and when I went to pick up my car, there were no extra hidden fees. I then got them to change my thermostat and got the same prompt service at a very reasonable price, about half the price that I was told to expect in an online forum. Bottom line, when you walk into this business you can tell right away that theses guys love cars. It shows in their work. And you get prompt and friendly service every time. I for one, as a Volkswagen owner, am totally confident in recommending this business to everyone out there. You will not be disappointed. I found Boris and the gang at Solo a few years ago when I wanted to have some ceramic pads installed on my M3. Another shop quoted me 450$; Solo offered to do it for 120$. Mind you, I had already purchased the pads, so this was just labor. Hmmm...guess who I went with? Since then I have gone to Solo for all my BMW repairs and upgrades. They charge little, if any, premium on parts and they are very upfront about what needs to be done. When I needed my bushings replaced they actually put the car on the rack, took me underneath and pointed out the cracks. When I had a (very) small oil leak, they recommended against fixing it because of the cost even though it would have benefitted them financially. To me, that is the essence of professional integrity. It sounds like a broken record but I must agree with the others. This shop is like no other shop. I'd like to think I am a savvy shopper but I too get intimidated when it comes to auto repairs. Unless you are a mechanic, we are all at there mercy when it comes to auto repairs. However, Boris made the process more than bearable. Let's face it, none of us want to make this trip but we all must at some point. I have a MINI Cooper S and Boris and his team addressed the issues at a faction of the cost compare to the dealership. Since my repair, I have referred a friend who also has a MINI and a friend with a BMW. They too are very happy to learn about SoloMotorsports.
