Nope. Cannot recommend, unless you like being overcharged. The choice is yours. Yesterday morning (11/30/17), coolant from the radiator began leaking out of my car, causing my engine to overheat and big plumes of white smoke to billow out from the hood of my car. I was on the highway with my two young children, so I took the nearest exit and made my way to a gas station. I first called a mechanic friend of mine, but he works third shift and usually sleeps during the day. No answer. I called and texted Kyle at 10:15am after finding his number and positive reviews on Yelp. Was a bit worried that he would be a no show like some other reviewers reported. However, he responded by 11:30am via text and called 15 minutes later to confirm that he was coming. Kyle arrived and was very nice and polite. He determined the problem quickly (a busted heater hose for the radiator) and set off to retrieve the part from a store. Before he left, he told me the repairs would cost $185. I was skeptical, but hey, I'm no car expert, so I agreed. He came back very quickly and began doing the repairs. He showed me the ruptured heater hose (made of cheap rubber or plastic) and also showed me the aluminum replacement. I've provided a pic of it below. While doing the repairs, I looked the part up online and saw that the aluminum hose -- only one -- cost $13. Kyle took his time replacing the part, maybe 30 minutes. At announcing he was done, he repeated that the cost was $185. I questioned him about the price by asking how much he charges for labor per hour. He claimed that he doesn't charge that way, mentioned having to maneuver/remove the alternator to replace the part. THEN Kyle stated he forgot the cost for pouring coolant into my car, which would be an extra $10. For a total of $195. My mechanic friend got back to me later that day. When I told him the story, he insisted that Kyle was being greedy, stating that the job really could be done in 15 minutes and that a job like that should have cost between $70 and $100. So I think I just paid extra to contribute to Kyle's Christmas gift fund this year. Happy Holidays everyone.

I was caught in a bind this past weekend as my less than 3000 mile vehicle decided on a Saturday evening that it didn't want to start. In all fairness, I had been doing some electrical work on the car & had to disconnect & reconnect the battery several times. The following day, as all my local Toyota dealerships & mechanics were closed, I decided to give Kyle a shot after reading his reviews. He arrived within the hour -- I live in the midtown area -- & was very professional & knowledgable. What I liked most about him was his willingness to answer all my inquiries about his trade & the tools he used on my vehicle. I like to understand the troubleshooting steps taking in order to better protect myself from the "claims" dealerships make when attempting to fix your car. Kyle was awesome & friendly & his price was more than fair. Glad I gave him a shot & I recommend him for any1 in an auto mechanical bind.

Great job. Responsive and affordable. He diagnosed a car issue that would have cost me much more at my usual auto repair or the dealership.

To make a long story short, this mechanic seems very nice but he never responded to me as promised to set up an appointment.
