I brought my car here for an oil change and tire rotation because the Volkswagen dealership couldn't fit me in, and I thought I was getting a good deal. Unfortunately, the experience turned into a major disappointment. The same day as the service, I was driving on the highway when my undercarriage cover came loose and flew off. I had to pull over and retrieve it. When I called, instead of taking responsibility, I was given excuses that it happened because the cover had supposedly been removed too many times. I've taken my car to the Volkswagen dealership since purchasing it in 2021 and have never experienced anything like this after a service. Four days later, I checked my brake pads and tire tread and discovered nails in my tires. The mechanic never mentioned them or documented them on the paperwork--not even as a safety warning. I also noticed that the lug bolts on two of my wheels were stripped. When I called again on Monday, the lead mechanic told me it wasn't their fault and blamed whoever had previously removed the wheels even though they had just performed my tire rotation. Once again, there was no accountability. I wouldn't have had an issue if the work had been completed carefully and the business had taken responsibility for its mistakes. I came here because I wanted to support a local business, but based on my experience, I strongly recommend that customers double-check all work before leaving. Update *** I should have read the reviews before bringing my vehicle to this location. Chris, it amazes me that you continue claiming there are "a lot of gray areas" when multiple reviews describe concerns similar to mine. You refuse to take accountability. Whether I inspected my vehicle three days later, five days later, or immediately after the service does not change the quality of the work performed. Customers should not have to inspect a professional mechanic's work before leaving to ensure nothing was damaged or improperly reinstalled. My regular mechanic at the Volkswagen dealership confirmed that the wheel bolts were stripped. Instead of taking responsibility, you blamed the dealership--even though other reviews claim your location caused similar damage to their vehicles. The fact that you believe I should have checked your work immediately shows why your service cannot be trusted. CB and his team are top-rate. Professional, friendly, honest, transparent, and have very fair, competitive rates. My dad was an excellent mechanic by hobby, and my husband is equally versed, but there are some things better, or less time-consuming, left to the pros, as was our latest urgent issue with our van. We were referred to CB by another trusted mechanic because the scope of working needing to be done was larger scale and he knew it could be done faster and likely less expensive at Lilburn Auto. Good mechanics typically know good mechanics and know bad referrals could reflect back on them as well as good referrals. We remain grateful for the referral. In the two instances we've gone to CB, he's been responsive, kept us informed, been honest about options, potential outcomes, and guided us to best solution for the situations at hand. It's clear they care about the work they do and appreciate their customers. Most recently, we had an issue on the eve of a holiday. We called, explained the noises and what we thought were going on. They fit us in, had it diagnosed and gave us an estimate and said they could get it fixed by end of day, which they did. They gave us a heads-up of things to be on the lookout for (some we were already aware of), but no pressure or scare tactics. The bill for parts and labor was in line with our expectations. As an added bonus, we get three free months of Sirius XM thanks to an affiliate program. Staff was nice and communicated well. We waited several days before writing this review to ensure all mechanical operated fine as much work was done (brakes pads replaced, oil change, radiator flush, transmission service, engine tune up) and all Mechanical seems to be fine. However, leather seat & console damaged and GPS power cable & iPhone power cable cut. We showed The service rep this and they explained that a rodent must have damaged leather (but happened at this shop sometime during the vehicles 4 day stay, so beware). Cables Being cut was explained as the car having a poor design where cables can be cut when closing center console. But know that I had no problems for 9+ years, so figure service carelessness. Husband personally repaired/spliced cables, but leather is damaged. read more

Had a wheel alignment from this business and it was done wrong they left the car with a negative castor which makes the truck almost uncontrollable at 70 miles an hour when switching lanes a google search will tell you that negative castor is dangerous when I contacted them about a warranty on the $151 I spent he said they would charge me again to fix what they messed up and he was very disrespectful and kept cutting me off while I was talking not to mentionmy truck smelled like cigarettes after his employee drove my car around Iike he smoked in it or smoked before he got in it bad business would not recommend this shop if you want your work done rite on your vehicle I have now opened a dispute with my bank an d will be receiving a refund thanks for robbing your customers read more

I did not feel that the Lilburn Auto Center knew what they were doing. Or I didn't have confidence in their experience, at least with my car. They recommended I get a tuneup but my car doesn't require tuneups. Additionally they fixed some noise I was having with my car. But after a few days the noise came back and when I returned they couldn't tell me exactly what they did. In other words they had no knowledge of what they repaired or how they repaired it. Which again, didn't instill much confidence in me. They also suggested that I get the trim around my window replaced because it would eventually leak. I later found out that that was not true. There is a sealant that would prevent leaks. Aesthetically I could repair the trim for looks but it would not leak. At the end of the day what didn't work for me may work for someone else. My family has been going to Lilburn Auto Center for at least 20 years. My dad swears by them. Their parts and labor are cheaper than any dealership. I didn't appreciate them as much as I should have until recently. I took my 2008 Honda Accord to Ed Voyles Honda on Cobb Pkwy because my rear brakes were grinding. They informed me I needed new brake pads, rotors, AND calipers on both tires and that my car was not even driveable. It was a Friday and they wouldn't even have the parts until Tuesday, and they quoted me around $1,000 for everything. My car is only 5 years old so I didn't trust them. I drove all the way from Smyrna to Lawrenceville in my "undriveable" car to Lilburn Auto. They were very upset to hear what the dealership told me and knew that my car could not have that many issues. Turns out I had one dirty caliper that needed to be cleaned and one brake pad that needed replacing, but they would go ahead and replace them all. Needless to say it was a very small fraction of the price Ed Voyles quoted me. I got my car back from Lilburn Auto that afternoon. I would not take my car back to this Shop! I was charged $117 for a diagnostic and when I even got the repairs done at the shop they didn't even put it toward the cost. This is not standard practice!!! Also, I was charged a bunch of fees because my car would not produce a diagnostic code so they kept doing things they 'thought' would fix it but didn't..,. They also charge me to change an air filter that was only one week old. I was able to recoup this cost, but at $1000 later it wasn't worth the aggravation! read more

Bingo. Liked them so much I took my newly purchased car (2006 Hummer H2) there. I knew it had a lot of things to be replaced/fixed. These guys were great! My fiance has built race cars, classic cars etc for decades, so he knows when he is being conned. He is blind now, so he cant do the work himself but knows every part of a car. I went to Lilburn Auto due to my check engine light being on and I needed to get my emissions approved before end of February. I was recommended by a friend and your reviews were good in reference to your services and emissions. The mechanic Dennis advised me that he "thinks" it is the Evap canister that would cost $395 + parts +labor for a total estimate of $700.00. I declined due to Dennis not being completely sure of the problem being the Evap canister. I asked "so would if you replace the canister and the "Check Engine " light comes back on. His reply was"well, I guess we're screwed " - ( No, that means I'm out of $700.00 with an incorrect diagnosis of my vehicles problem.) I paid $94.00 to Lilburn Auto for the diagnostic test with no resolution. Today, I brought my vehicle to An auto repair shop across the street for a 2nd opinion. They were very honest and professional. They advised me they diagnosed the vehicle and could not tell me exactly what the problem was and advised me to visit the dealership for a more in depth diagnostic search. The 2nd repair shop did not charge me for the diagnostic test due to them not having a resolution. I took my vehicle to The dealership. They diagnosed my vehicle and resolved the issue. The problem was a faulty gas cap. They charged me $168.00 for the diagnostic test and a new gas cap. Problem resolved. This is much better than paying a "guesstimated" amount of $700.00 from Lilburn Auto. I will be requesting a refund of the $94.00 that i paid for no resolution. read more

I was in your shop yesterday with my daughter in law. I heard a man who called himself the MANAGER screaming, hollering & threatening someone on the phone. He was so rude, so Unprofessional & down right SCARY. Im so glad i was not the person on the other end of the phone. My whole family has been bringing all our cars here for years. We have never seen or heard this kind of behavior from Dennis, Bob or James EVER. I was so disappointed to see this coming from this young man. I have thought about it all night & all of today. He needs to be called on the carpet, or removed from dealing with customers. This is not the Lilburn Auto we have always dealt with. I was SHOCKED. Bob, James & Dennis have never handled themselves this way. They have always been kind, understanding & worked with us, if we could not do the repairs at this time. Threatening customers is not professional. You dont keep customers by doing that. You lose customers by doing that. It affects the whole business & all the people in there, not just that one person. I have never been so disappointed by a business nor have I ever experienced such unethical practices as by Lilburn Auto Center. I took my car in for repairs and they told me 3 times it takes 2 catalytic converters when it actually only has one. They didn't change their story til I asked for the quote in writing. I told them I was taking my car to a competitor, which they actually called (the owner of their competitor told me this when I brought my car to him) and told lies about me. I went home and an hour later 2 police officers were at my door saying they made a complaint that I threatened them with a rifle and a scope. No charges were filed, obviously, as I don't have a rifle nor a scope and I paid them for doing their tests on my car and then took it to the competitor who not only did the repairs but saved me $800 on the price I was quoted by Lilburn Auto Center. They didn't like the fact I caught them red-handed in their scam. They crossed so many lines I'm shocked to my core that they are still in business. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these unscrupulous people. They should be shut down and thrown in jail for their practices. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give them a 0. I've done business with them before this and didn't have a problem that I was aware of but now I wonder what they charged me for that I never received.
