I just left Discount Tire, and let me tell you, the name is perfect because they give you a "discount" on service, a "discount" on quality, and a total disaster on everything else! I've seen some bad operations, but this was a complete and total train wreck. Very unprofessional! The Messy Sidewall Scandal First of all, I look at my tires--beautiful tires, the best tires--and what do I see? Lubricant everywhere. It's all over the sidewalls! It looks like a grease pit. They have no respect for the equipment. They just slap it on, very sloppy, very low-energy. It's a disgrace to the car! Technical Failure: The TPMS Disaster Then, I get in the car. The light is still on! They didn't even check the TPMS sensors. I asked them, "Did you check the sensors?" They looked at me like they didn't have a clue. * The Invoice: They can't even read! They wrote the wrong vehicle on the invoice. I bring in a world-class machine, and they write down some "loser" car on the paper. Total incompetence! * The Alignment: I've seen turtles move faster. They are slow and completely unskilled. The car is pulling to the left, pulling to the right--it's a rigged alignment! My Final Verdict They take your money, they grease up your tires, and they can't even get the name of your car right. It's a borderline catastrophe. We need tire centers that actually know what they're doing. We need "Great Tires Again," not this garbage! read more

I've always gone to Discount, their Customer Service is usually great and I generally am able to get whatever I need, although never in stock they order what I want and have it in within 2-3 days. Recently one of my SUV's tires was losing air, brought it in for a fix, turns out two nails within an inch of each other required a new tire. I decided to buy a new set. While the service rep was looking for what I wanted another rep next to him offered a suggestion on how to expedite my order. The guy helping me told him in a not so nice way to mind your own business, he's got it. It made me feel like he was pulling a fast one on me and pushing a more expensive tire that could get here quicker. I bought the tires, but felt screwed. They put a second hand tire on my car that they had in the shop so I could get home, which they didn't have to do, giving them 3 stars, but still feel meh. When I came to have the tires installed they were sitting right outside the waiting room and the guy who initially helped me said he sold another set to a diff guy because they were badass tires. Again meh. When my Porsche needs my next set, I'll be dropping my $1k elsewhere. read more

Absolutely unprofessional! I came in for flat tire and waited over an hour for them to tell me they can't do it. They said it was because the tire leak was from a previous tire patch and they don't do that but the problem ended up being a piece of wood (which I was told at different place that serviced me in minutes). So they clearly didn't even check the tire and wasted my time for nothing. To make it worse they were trying to sell me a tire for 150 to replace it because they couldn't do a patch when that wasn't even the problem. I've been coming to this Discount Tire for a couple years now and, until recently, I have had no issues with the service here. In the last few visits, I've noticed an increased focus on up selling things. It sometimes almost feels like certain salesmen try to intimidate customers into buying additional services or tires and wheels for no logical reason. This has not been the case with all salesmen at this location. Some are genuinely very nice and provide a great service. It can be hit or miss now with others. This is my go to discount tire store. The folks here are really friendly and provide the best service. I don't know much about tires and they are extremely patient in explaining everything and answering every question I have. I love that they offer free tire rotations for life as well as free air check. When I get my oil change from the dealer, they usually want to charge me extra to get my tires rotated. I walked in for a rotation this time without an appointment and was out within ~15 minutes. I also never feel like their pushing to sell me tires, unlike other places where they just want to sell, sell, sell. I have enjoyed this place every time I went. Definitely recommend. :) read more

After one of the employees damaged my custom wheel the store manager (KALEB DAVIS) did not try at all to make the situation right and placed blame on whomever put my wheels on almost a year ago He refused to provide any suggestions on how I could get my issue fixed and I had to force him to document this issue in their system. They didn't even attempt to fix what they had damaged. Gave me my keys and basically said good luck with finding some one to fix it. I've been in contact with the corporate office and awaiting to receive further information. I will NEVER patronize this store again. read more

I returned today to get my tires rotated and I was greeted by Marco. He went to check my tires and later informed me about the status of my tires and the process of the usual wear and tear of rear tires verses front tires. I told him that I understand and just needed them rotated as I have life-time rotation and balance on my account. He then kept educating me about how it is important to know the status of my tires. I told him again that I'm not interested in that right now, I just need to get them rotated. He insisted that I must know. At this point, I became heated. I asked him why he's not listening to me. He said that it's our process. The conversation turned into why this process includes force-feeding a customer information that he wasn't interested in. I was furious at this. In the end, I had to leave because the lack of a meeting of the minds caused me to not trust leaving my car there. I have not encountered a robotic attitude like the one I found in Marco in a long time. Brandon, the manager, was occupied with another customer and I was we so livid at that point by that I couldn't even stay to talk to him about the situation. I don't recognize Marco or Brandon since my last visit, so it seems like the whole management team has changed (for the worst, unfortunately). You couldn't pay me to go back. I love my Jeep. I'm over 200,000 miles now, and I hope it never falls apart on me. So, in keeping with that, I love it when a chain store actually cares enough to give my car the care it deserves. I got 4 new tires, lifetime repair, balance and rotation, and replacement certificates for less than $350. Now, I don't really know how that compares to other places, but I got Kumho Solus tires that have an 85,000 mile warranty on them. Since I did purchase tires that come with a service package, Discount Tire is very convenient for me because they have locations nationwide. Felix and the whole staff were nice, attentive, and full of information. Changing all four tires only took about 30 minutes and I was on my way. It was my first experience here getting my car flat tire fix. Sam and the other staff are very nice and helpful. I was able to drop off the flat tire and come back the next day to get it switch out with the spare tire. Before I left, Sam made sure to tighten the spare tire so I could be safe. I have a 93 Crown Victoria and as much as I love my car, it's a pain for me these days. I previously went to JB Tires on jimmy after for my tires and ALL OF THEM but one went out in a matter of months. My tires are constantly going out. I have been going to the Lawrenceville Hwy. location for years and have always experienced good customer service. I recently purchased another vehicle and took it in to have the tires rotated which turned out to be an ordeal. Since this was a routine matter, I was immediately concerned when the manager came into the lobby through the service door and said "there's a problem with your Jeep". He didn't come to where I was sitting in the lobby, or ask me to come to the register which would have been appropriate, but announced it out loud where other customers were standing in the line which I felt was very unprofessional. I immediately became concerned and asked him what happened. He took me to my vehicle and said that one of the lugnuts would not come off and that the outer housing "flew off" when they were trying to remove it. He also said they almost tipped it over trying to get the part off. After driving to someone he recommended could possibly remove it, I later noticed that the part was actually broken off since part of it was still on the lugnut. Yesterday, I took it to the dealership who extracted and repaired it in record time, which cost me quite a bit. I know things happen, but it appeared that there was an attempt to avoid any human responsibility for what occurred. Perhaps better training is needed in handling and explaining these types of situations in the future. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this business. read more

Last Friday I stopped by Discount Tire to have them check the air in my tires. Every time it gets cold, my Chrysler 200 complains that the tire pressure is low. They topped them all off. Tuesday morning when I drove to work, the front right tire was significantly low again. I stopped by Discount Tire after work. The quickest I could get there was 5:30, and they close at 6:00. I ended up being the last customer in the store, but they found a tiny metal sliver that was causing the tire to leak. They patched it, and checked the other tires, free of charge--even though I was there 30 minutes after they closed! They were all very polite even after a long day.
