I used the Yelp feature to send pictures and received a reply shortly after suggesting an in-person estimate. I called and left a message to schedule an appointment, expecting to wait a couple days before even getting a callback. Imagine my (pleasant) surprise when Mr. Anthony called me back within a few minutes! (Green flag #1) I was told to come by Sunday between 8am and noon (green flag #2). I pulled up at about 11am and Mr. Anthony came out to take a look. The business page says "No job is too big or too small" and they stand on that. One thing I really appreciated is that he included me in the process. He simply asked whether I was looking to have the whole fender replaced (I wasn't), went inside and got his tools. It was that easy. No overselling. No overcharging. No frills. Just an honest gentleman who saw a small job, as it turned out) and made the time to do it. Yall. I chose DeKalb Collision since they easily had the best ratings on the list. I waited a few days for lot availability then DeKalb Collision arranged a same day tow. When I did the walk through with DJ, he said DeKalb Collision (like all the shops on the list) is a body and paint shop. That's fine if your car has external damage like a dent or bumper repair. But if there are mechanical issues like a noise or if it isn't driving the same, take it somewhere else. Otherwise, DeKalb Collision will do the body work and you'll have to take it to another shop for the internal issues anyway.. When I told DJ I'd rather take my car to a shop that could diagnose and fix everything, he said they'd take it to an alignment specialist. When I said I didn't think that was the issue and I'd rather take it to the dealer, DJ assured me that this was just the first step. They'd take it to a dealer if the alignment specialist couldn't resolve it.. DeKalb Collision got the alignment checked. Then they communicated directly with Allstate, I was not part of the conversation. DeKalb Collision told me the accident didn't cause the mechanical issues which they couldn't even diagnose. Allstate then said the internal repairs wouldn't be covered. In other words, Allstate was DeKalb Collision's customer, not me. Also, communication was terrible. DeKalb Collision never returned calls as promised. So even though they'd had my car for two weeks I had to call daily for five days while they made excuses such as not having the required paperwork or "Allstate's permission" before they even started repairs. TIP - If you're in an accident and it isn't your fault, get a police report, choose your own shop and let the other driver's insurance company reimburse you. Better yet, call an attorney. Don't naively believe the insurance company will do the right thing. Overall, DeKalb Collision took three weeks to repair my bumper which they admitted didn't take long to fix. I do not recommend.

The mechanic said the belt was structurally intact and looked new but was responsible for the sound. He said he sprayed it with WD 40 which eliminated the sound but informed me it would come back eventually. He told me I could replace the belt to eliminate the sound permanently or I could pass on replacing the belt as it was still functioning properly and brand new. Definitely a mechanic I will be back to visit as I know they are not trying to stick me with random charges for parts I don't need.
