Took my fathers truck there for an oil change and 14 miles later the engine blew up. I contacted the shop after having it looked at by a reputable mechanic and the oil filter wasn't put on properly/not at all. When I contacted the shop, they did everything but accept responsibility. The manager, Sonny, acted like a gorilla and refused to stop screaming into the phone. A real class act. I talked to the owner who said I should sue them, but I'm too poor to do so. Please don't take your vehicles here. Now my father, a cancer patient, is without his truck and I'm trying to get him mobile so he can make appointment. A real classic act. These people are crooks, short and simple. And Sonny, you should have left that attitude in prison. read more

Found this shop through the excellent Google Reviews. They were the only shop of four or five mechanics who could fit me in last minute on a Saturday afternoon and get my car back the same day. I brought them a two page readout from an express oil change place I'd used just for my oil change. The guys at Almost Auto Service were kind enough to check out my car for any routine maintenance and repairs as well as walk me through why the recommended services from the express place were largely made up to drive up the bill. an email was sent to the owner: carolina@almostautoservice.com On 2/29/2024 at around 6:30 am I was driving to work and hit something in the road it looked like a transmission . It was dark early morning and I only got a quick glimpse before I hit it. I was able to drive the short distance to work and when I parked it, I noticed all the oil was leaking out so I knew it had hit my oil pan but did not know what else was damaged. I called a repair shop that I had used for years called T & G automotive, I have had them work on my cars for years and they were honest and had fair prices and I could trust them. When I called them to let them know I was bringing my car to them for service your company answered the phone and told me they were no longer in business and were referring customers to your company. So, I called AAA and had the car towed to Almost Auto in Clarkston and left it there and my wife picked me up it was a little after lunch time. Later that afternoon I got a call from Almost Auto she said " I HAVE GOOD NEWS FOR YOU THE ONLY DAMAGE TO YOUR CAR IS THE OIL PAN AND ITS GOING TO COST $611.00 DOLLARS TO REPAIR IT". I thought this was a little high to replace an oil pan, but I told her to go ahead with the repairs, she said' " WE CAN HAVE IT READY BY TOMORROW " (Friday March the 1st). I asked her what time they closed and I told her I could not get there by that time and asked her if they were open on Saturday she said yes and I told her I would pick it up Saturday morning ( 3/2/2024) she said okay. Saturday morning, we headed to Almost auto to pick up my car and were in in accident, no fault of our own a short distance from your shop . When we got there a Man at the front counter said " YOUR CAR IS NOT READY" we walked out back and he put his fingers next to the tires and said there was something else not right and wanted to put it on a lift to look at it. Once on the lift he and I and a mechanic took a quick look at it and it was very Obvious within seconds that it had severe damage to the oil pan, the motor mounts, and the engine and he said " THIS CAR IS TOTALED' . Not sure why I was lied to or not contacted and told the truth before I drove there that morning?. You can have the car, I don't care what you do with it , give it to charity like KARS for KIDS. "Changed" all of my car's brake pads and a caliper for around $1500. Less than a year later, I take my car to a different mechanic who says that a caliper is damaged and that it is clear the only brake pads that got changed were the front. Very fed up with this place. read more

My Saturday morning started off with what I thought was an emergency being that my car wouldn't start. I googled a few places, then looked on Yelp and seen the stellar reviews about A.A.S. Made the call, discussed what I thought the problem was, and was told to bring it by asap. Upon arrival I was greeted by Sonny and his technician; both were knowledgeable as hell btw. They ran a few diagnostic test, and turns out I didn't need an alternator (thank God), only a battery. They fixed me up and got me on my way in record time. Needless to say, I'll be back. read more

I asked how much would it be too replace a valve gasket cover and He literally said huffed and said "I don't know. I don't know how much that part is. I'm too busy to do quotes over the phone". Sonny is a clown along with his incompetent employees, he screwed the engine up in my 2017 Hyundai Elantra, he replaced it and now the replacement engine is having issues. I went to the actual dealer where they told me that my engine was misfiring, sonny is a piece of crap. My mother called him and told him that it would be $975 for HYUNADI to fix it and could he help out with the price, and this jerk said oh no I'm not interested because of the way i acted on the phone? Well asshole, how else am i supposed to act when you screwed up my engine? Lol go to hell, i had the money and paid for it cash, because someone had get this fixed . Moral of the story don't let these FOOLS Under your hood!!!!! You will be sorry, they did this to a womans fathers truck and his engine was shot ( look at the earlier reviews on yelp) unfortunately they didn't have to funds to sue and take him to court. I was in the market for a new truck and I came across a F150 listed on marketplace... That's how I came to meet Sonny. The truck that I had inquired about was actually being sold when I pulled up however Sunny offered me another vehicle he had at the body shop it was almost ready for purchase as well... I ended up getting this truck, with my mechanical knowledge I was able to identify a low end engine problem and I brought it back to Sunny to have a conversation with him about what my options were to have it repaired. It turned out that the motor was going to be more to repair than the truck was worth and instead of leaving me with a truck I could do nothing with, because of his responsiveness and reliability and his general character, I was willing to put more money up to buy a nicer truck that he had. The truck needed a motor and I was given a timeline which was adhered to perfectly. They ended up putting a new motor in the truck and then went the extra mile to replace the blower motor and a broken mirror and a few other aesthetic Parts which I never expected to be replaced. I've now had the truck for about 1000 miles with a brand new 0 mile motor in it and I am absolutely loving it. Any questions I've had along the way, Sunny has answered and him and his staff has been very knowledgeable and have gone above and beyond in every sense of the phrase to make my buying experience and repair experience phenomenal with them. Sonny and his team are outstanding! My car was having rear differential noises and frictions when turning. I took it to the Ford dealership and they wanted $500 just to diagnose because it was just after the warranty period. the real deal, y'all. i never leave reviews, but had to leave one for these guys. took my car in after Ford told me i'd have to wait 5 days to get a diagnosis on my issues. these guys not only diagnosed it within the hour, but were able to fix it by the end of the day. they were also upfront about costs and transparent about not charging me more than they needed to, which is much appreciated to hear as a woman who has been ripped off at car tuneup places before. aside from being attentive, they were also kind, patient and clear. i will be using AAS again if more issues arise -- though hope to god i do not need to! -- and recommend them to whoever asks me about a good mechanic in the area! read more
