When you drive by this place, you can't help but stare. The large windows are full of colorful toys and fun displays. Just like Kathleen said, there are flying monkeys everywhere. Supporting local is good but improving customer service is recommended. I went in and it was toy overload. There was a crazy rolling dog laughing on the floor. It was unnerving. I wasn't ask if I needed help and the staff there were more into talking to each other than anything else. My trip to Magic Mouse was far less than subpar.... Upon entering the establishment I was told "we don't have a bathroom, welcome to magic mouse". An interesting greeting, indeed, I thought, but brushed it off as common city folk banter and pressed on. Alas, just as I had located the stuffed animals my hand was slapped away as I reached for one. The same fellow who had alerted me they have no restroom informed me "no fun until you pay, buster!" The first time I walked into this store, my foot was immediately bumped by one of those faux hamsters in a ball. I proceeded to follow it around, mystified by the random pattern it made. An hour later (no, seriously you guys) I realized that I'd just spent an hour following a toy around. And God bless that staff, who must've thought I was absolutely out of my gourd but didn't say a thing to me about it. I felt bad, so I bought some paper dolls which I sent to a friend. A grown up friend. Does one ever outgrow paper dolls? I mean, really. Also, I play Killer Bunnies and they have the best selection I've seen so far for their EPs. They have a great board game area, actually. I actually saw the board game "Labyrinth" (not to be confused with the David Bowie movie, as the two have very little in common), which feels old school to me. I had that game when I was little! I was at Magic Mouse Toys years ago when Steve and I were up in Seattle to evaluate if it was a place we wanted to live in. I was very pleased to see that Magic Mouse has weathered the Great Recession and is still around! Magic Mouse has all of your classic toys and more unique ones too! Here are some areas of the this two story toy store I liked! - They have a pretty good selection of Legos so any die hard Lego collector needs to check this section out! - Downstairs is a display case with some amazing fantasy figurines which consists of knights, dragons, ghouls, wraiths and the like! -Also downstairs is a huge puzzle section and metal model kits. Those metal modeling kits look quite intensive to put together and I do not have the ingenuity or the patience to assemble such a thing but they are beautiful! I liked the downstairs merchandise better, that is for sure. It appealed to the inner geek in me. Upstairs there is books, gag gifts, rubber snakes and so much more! Be aware though Magic Mouse is more of the learning toy kind of places so you will not find figures from Marvel or DC comics, Mass Effect figures, Star Wars and so on. Still it truly is an amazing toy store and one of my all time favorites! read more

Great two level toy store, with everything from Archie McPhee stuff to gear for serious model maker or miniature lovers. Some juggling equipment, balls clubs, diablos, and yo-yos as well. A small book section to look at. All in all its a fun place to meander around. A+ for an independent toy-store. read more

Wow, this place was amazing! I stopped here after a luncheon with a colleague and we decided to take a quick jaunt into MMT's since we at a block away. I had never been, so I was looking forward to it. I went in hoping to find Coloring Books for my monster, and while I didn't find what I was looking for, I found tons else instead! They have an amazing puzzle collection (the "cave of puzzles" as one employee dubbed it), doll selection, and I was thrilled to see BOOKS in a TOY STORE! Whodathinkit? I left with less than I wanted, but with a bicycle License Plate with my daughters name on it, as well as a frame for it (Zoe is a hard name to find for some reason!), which made me happy. What a great place to find toys and feel a kid again!. Great staff and more than once I feel tempted to acquire more than one of the games. 1 hour and $200 later we walked out with two large bags bursting at the seams. The two storied fantasmagorical toy store won! The staff was super nice and had no problem showing us their flying monkeys or putting in batteries at no extra charge. I love that the store is NOT divided into boy/girl sections but rather into different types of toys. We browsed upstairs and picked out a super cool Gearmotion toy. Downstairs was where we bought lots of books,cars and retro-gum and novelty candy. Great corner location and the fact that it's open on Sunday till 7 was a big bonus for us tourists. Gigantic independent toy story filled with all the greatest of children's toys. There are educational toys, funny toys, cute toys... all kinds of toys. What's more they have an exceptional book section... kids of all ages will have trouble leaving this story without bags and bags of great toys. read more

I'm in my twenties and I still love toy stores. Is there anything wrong with that? I really hope not. This place is awesome. The boyfriend and I stopped by on our way to an underground tour. It took us a long time to explore through both floors, and I could have happily spent even more time there. There were a lot of great games and toys for adults (no, not like that!) as well as for kids. If you're looking for a wacky gift for someone, this is probably the place to go. What a great toy store for kids and adults alike. We went in looking for a kite or something simple and ended up getting tons of cool stuff. Great selection of unique kits and science toys. Tons of board games like macala boards, go boards, chess and othello. Lots of rockets and balls and figurines. I got my first gyroscope! Way too much fun. Only bad thing was that I bought a foam dart gun that ended up not working. Hoping to bring it back for an exchange. But other than that this place is great. read more

I had never been to Magic Mouse Toys until I visited with my boyfriend this past weekend. I've been past the shop a zillion times, but mostly on the bus so I'd never made it in. This toy store is glorious! So many games, puzzles, toys, kites, stuffed animals, models, puppets, books, and anything else you can think of! It is two stories of pure fun. We probably spent about an hour in the store just browsing and having a fun time. We loved the gigantic game room downstairs and wrote down the names of all sorts of games that we want to try out in the future. I coveted all of the turtle stuffed animals and very nearly bought a turtle kite. I think the only downside to this shop is that the prices are a bit higher than I'd really like to pay. However, they are understandable for an independent shop and certainly better than shopping at the mall or another large retailer! read more

This quirky shop is as fun for adults as it is for kids. The toy selection focuses on "old school" toys that I remember from childhood like lincoln logs, erector sets, puzzles, and model kits. They have a good selection of collectible dolls and figurines as well. You won't see many overly commercialized toys here but there is a motion sensor fart machine and watch out for low-flying monkeys! read more

Two stories of toys? Flying monkeys? Radio controlled helicopters? If this doesn't sound like fun to you, you're taking life too serious. We have two boys, and while we spent two hours in there, and we walked out of the store with nothing for them, and lots for us. (There happens to now be a flying monkey that whizzes around our office hallways . . .) The staff were incredibly friendly, and quite playful. This is the kind of store that is either a dream come true or a complete nightmare. It really depends on what kind of parent you are, or more honestly, what kind of child/children you are bringing along with you. This is the kind of store where a cornucopia of magical toys are out and opened and ready to be tested and played with. It's small, it's tight, but it's filled and over flowing with fun. This is the kind of place that children dream about; to them this is the equivalent of being inside a large toy chest. So dear reader, keep that in mind when dealing with the people who work here. They're adults...they can only handle so much over flowing fun that's intended for a younger target demographic. They mean well, but it's a job and probably not their passion. So let it slide just a bit. My favorite purchase that I've walked away from here happens to be deck of tarot cards. Go figure! My friends and I are visiting Seattle for a trip. One of the stops we made was this toy store. One of the first things we noticed when we walked in was the stress weiner (basically a stress ball but in a weiner/hot dog shape). The sales person, never got his name, but he comments that "everyone needs a stress weiner." My other friend gets excited about the floam (play-doh and foam) and the salesperson stirs up a conversation about how a "foreigner" came in earlier asking about floam(only did he know that we were not locals to Seattle) He thought it was funny that it was called floam. We explore more toys, one of the things we found was the mushroom kalediscopes. The salesperson and my friend have a race with the kalediscopes. It's pretty cool to have a toy store like this in Pioneer Square. They've been around for YEARS and I hope they last for many more. They have a good assortment of books, stuffed animals, and of course TOYS. Almost guaranteed it'll breathe some life into the kid in you if you go in there. Great place to buy gifts. Completely for the kid and the kid at heart. 2 levels of crazy overwhelming toys that are educational or just plain fun. I like how they segregated the old toys with the new and anything with wacky cute things like that multi colored piggy bank...also love the Hello Kitty items on sale. I kinda got weirded out when the sales clerk put back the laughing monkey that rolls upon sensor motion right in the path of the stairs...I mean I put that thing back in the bin for a reason...somebody could have stepped on it and died on the stairs...I guess the sales people pretty much want a sales versus safety. Gah, that crackling simeon was annoying....it made me want to leave the store..hence the star minus. Nice book selection and the magic section was pretty good too. read more

You can't help but be drawn in by the store. I walked into it one of my 1st days in Seattle while I was scoping out potential apartments in Pioneer Square. This store is so much fun - it will appeal to anyone - kids and adults alike. I've shopped here for my niece and nephew, now turning 5 and 3, and scored a hit every time. They love the store too. The staff is very friendly - who wouldn't be? They get to play and demonstrate the different toys in the shop. I was really amazed a couple of years ago, when I discovered the Dragon Box toy store, located close to pikes place market: A small toy store with a carefully selected variety of nice small and large toys, games, puzzles and so on. This time, I discovered Magic Mouse toys on 1st, right at the pioneer square - and was even more amazed: a two-storied paradise of toys. My husband and I discovered the store while we were driving through Pioneer Square. We were about Magic Mouse and decided to come back another day. We both really enjoyed looking at the toys and games and books. Brought back a lot of memories from childhood. One of us would see a toy we played with or a book we used to love years ago and run over to show the other. The puppets were pretty cool-the animals very realistic looking. There is also a Hello Kitty selection and travel edition board games. I liked the little pig that "walked" around, he was cute. Door says "No groups"-I can only imagine the story behind that sign. I expected so much more.. Upon entering the store, I asked if they had action figure stuff; I was buying a Birthday gift for someone and was looking for Pop Toys or Dunnys, Something more like a vinyl figures.. even posters.. I was told that they really don't have that sort of stuff and that there were some bendable figures and some action heroes along the way. It felt quite sad actually. The music playing felt like it was to remind 85 year olds of their youth. It seems that there was massive amount of stuff that I would only imagine appeals to either very small children or people who like to collect novelty toys that allow them to reminisce. Not everything has to be based upon licenses for new movie or cartoons, but I feel like a balance of modern would not go amiss. read more

It's really getting harder and harder to find a good toy store these days. I was on foot at the market downtown and I was looking for a place to find my little girls a gift. I was directed to walk ten blocks over to Magic Mouse. "Ten Blocks?!" I thought, but the sun was out so I made the hike. It was well worth it. This place is two stories of kid paradise. I found great quality dolls, with is exactly what I was looking for. The gentleman that helped me couldn't have been nicer. This is NOT a Toys-R-Us and isn't going to have every flavor of commercial junk toys that are available these days, but what they do have is a great selection of quality toys that kids will love. My girls much prefer the dolls I bought them at Magic Mouse to the other dolls they have. Maybe it's cause these are newer, but I like to think that it's because they are very nice and high quality toys, like I had when I was a kid. read more

I walk in here and suddenly I'm 12 again. I want to play with everything inside. I can literally spend hours here. I've only experienced very friendly staff here. I love to buy "educational" toys for the rugrats instead of just stuffing them full of Barbies and Disney movies, and this store really did the trick. AND, I had a ton of fun shopping here. OH wow, I never know I am still a KID! This place is awesome.. If you have a kid, bring them there, if you have an adult that forgot how was himself being a kid, bring them there too, if you are a old man, trying to think of your age? go to magic mouse toys three! There must be things that you want to keep your hands on, it is filled with 2 stories, you can totally imagine how many toys are there.... Now a day kids are always with their laptop, computer, browsing internet for their free games, but we have already lost all the old toys idea.. people inventing new games on internet... but i bet there are less less people inventing for new toy I totally recommend this place to my friends, as I say, I want my friends to become kids again, where no worries begin. read more

This is such a fun store. I spent about 15 minutes in the board game section of the store before having to run and missed most out on all the other areas. The board game section was great. There were so many games I had never seen before and a lot of them were on display for you to try. I hate buying a game and then hating it once I open it so this is perfect! This is a great place to burn time while waiting for an underground tour. read more
