While in Seattle my sister spotted this toy store and really wanted to go inside. Unfortunately, we had to wait until the next day because they were closed. The hours are weird so you really have to watch the time because the shop is only open from 12-4 Wednesday through Sunday. Luckily, we made it back the next day and we're glad that we did! This is a kids dream! There are a ton of toys, stuffed animals, and little trinkets. So many games, puzzles, books and odd items. There are two levels so don't miss the downstairs where the real magic happens. We travelled downstairs and I believe we came across the owner. He was very quirky and I could tell that he had a true passion for the place that he has created. He made a joke with us while launching one of those slingshot flying monkeys. What a cool guy! I really enjoyed the puzzle and game room. There was an abundance of beautiful chess sets and they were very decently priced. Nothing was of outrageous expense and I'm sure that anyone could find something that they would enjoy. You do not have to be a kid to enjoy the store because surely the kid will come out in you when you step inside. read more

Given the sadly decrepit state of Pioneer Square, it was hard to find any reason to come to this area. But one lone shining beacon of this formerly glorious district still exists: the Magic Mouse toy store. I remember a couple of decades ago visiting this wonderful store, exploring all the unique gift items to discover in its 2 tight but meandering floors, and always finding something interesting. Lots of gift ideas abound. The coup de grace was the super smart and entertaining games wizard/master who occupied the lower floor. He explained all the toys, especially the games, such that we knew what we wanted to buy.......his descriptions were intriguing. I hope this place survives and anchors the revival of this once vibrant shopping and dining district. I'm constantly on the hunt for cool gifts that will impress my 2 y/o niece and although she is hard to wow I'm sure she would love coming into this store! There are two large floors of toys for all ages. I found a mancala board safely kept behind glass and knew this was a store I could trust. Even what looked to me like medieval chains and locks or something ended up being a rare fun find. When I showed my husband he was super excited to come in for himself. Apparently they are puzzle pieces that you try to twist and unlock. They're difficult but fun and they allow you to try them in the store. They'll definitely have you racking your brain! This is a fun world of toys from all throughout time so step in just for a stroll down memory lane and I'm sure you'll find a lot of things you'll want to buy for yourself. read more

THE OLDEST TOY STORE IN WA STATE! A fun place for kids of all ages! This two-story toy store is filled with all kinds of fun things. The clerk confessed that he used to come here as a boy and now he is working here. The bottom floor was once at street level since the building existed before the street was raised in 1895. You can even still see the original entrance all bricked up. There are toy cars, toy planes, toy sailing boats, puzzles, Legos, novelties, stuffed animals, and on and on. Check out Magic Mouse Toys. Their selection of books is nice and the puzzles and games too. If you're in the area it may be worth converting your Amazon wishlist to purchases at a local toy store. An absolutely amazing fun store! Between me and my other half we have four kids in the Primage of toy stores and I'm always gonna say this in the beginning of my toy store reviews that I am a sucker for a brick and mortar toy store and I think that people they complain about them for people that are stuck in this new world where you shop from your home, and never experience anything firsthand!! This is a huge one. It's got two stories, and anytime there are stairs in a store. It makes it that much more impressive... We came in expecting nothing, and we got lots of fun items to mess around with, and play fun, keyboards laying around amazing puzzles and stuffed animals and you so many fun things overall, this time we didn't up purchasing anything but there were many items that we definitely kept an eye on for future gifts. An absolutely amazing layout of things here... I don't know how they do that and Seattle keep it so clean so neat and well staffed but it's absolutely a great place and I'm a stop by if you have kids. read more

I want to give a huge shout out to the guy who was working in the board games and took his time showing me a bunch of games I should check out, and even set out one called azule and showed me how to play it and why I needed it in my collection. This place has decent collections of toys for all ages. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, except Rick. Rick was extremely rude and unhelpful, making my store experience pretty awful. Rick, you should appreciate your coworkers for saving yourself from a formal complaint, because this type of customer service can actually ruin the business. Learn from your younger coworkers. They are enthusiastic about the job and loves offering help whenever possible. They add personal touches to the recommendations and try their best to make the customers happy. You do the exact opposite. Even when I told you that I'm not trying to make your job difficult, you still insisted on your hostility. What's fun about ruining someone's birthday? Love this store. You can tell someone put thought into what to curate for the store. Feels a bit like your in a Willy Wonka movie. This is what all toy stores should be like. It's a learning, exploring and engaging place to walk through. I was in Seattle on a short trip and stumbled into this toy store. As I stepped in, I felt like I was transported back in time to my childhood. They had toys galore.... stuffed toys, books, puzzles, board games and so many collectibles for the 80's nostalgia fanatic. It was amazing!!!! I ended up browsing through the store for almost 2hours. They have every toy known to man. Go check it out, release your inner kid and if you are looking for a child's gift be prepared to come out of there with more than one cool toy. This is a beautiful toy store. I went to buy a toy they had. I'm visiting from out of town. My purchase was well over $200.00. Amazing selection. BUT Had I known that I was going to see Trump propaganda scattered on the shelves of a toy store of all places I wouldn't have stepped inside. This place is both pretty cool and pretty crappy depending on what size of the fence your on. As a child? I really don't think I'd be that into this place. Yeah, they have a lot of toys, but they also have a lot glasses cases to hold those toys and, generally speaking, there are a lot of things that you can't actually play with. As an adult this place is pretty alright. They sell a lot of expensive "toys," such as very nice chess sets, collectibles, advanced puzzles, etc. They definitely have a lot of items here that appeal to the adult palate, but for the price? You're most likely better off somewhere else for the same item. read more

Wunderbar! This shop is so fun it makes me shout German adjectives! Escape the smell of urine that permeates Pioneer Square and enter the wonderland that is Magic Mouse. There are toys. I mean lots and LOTS of toys. This is a toy store after all, and they cover every surface- walls, floors, ceiling, and everything in-between. Variety is the name of the game here and there are things to please every age of child, from -1 to 100+. The prices are fair and the service is swell. The woman working was pleased to demonstrate the insanely-amusing flying monkey contraption that made us laugh out loud. Sure, there is the possibility that you will go into information overload, but it's worth the trip to crazy-town. read more

Stopped by this sweet toy store before we went on the Underground tour of Seattle. Do not be fooled by the small entry way door this store is a treasure trove of all things fun, childlike, and whimsical. Hundreds and hundreds of some of the most beloved toy and toy companies are located inside of this retail space. Extremely friendly and helpful staff really make it stand out as a place were people care and know what they are doing. There were plenty of staff members to help everyone and I was able to get my questions answered quickly. It was so much fun to just browse. I will say one thing I noted was the incredible selection of puzzles...just WOW! Thousands of options of interesting looking challenges. Unbelievable! I stopped by the store on 3/31 with the intent of buying some toys for my family. I wasn't wearing a mask as most of Seattle has dropped that mandate. Upon entering the store an employee (semi-bald gentleman) aggressively approached me demanding I put on a mask if I had one. I was a bit shocked at how unfriendly this employee was - in a toy store! I put on my mask and then witnessed this employee approach another patron demanding he put on a mask. The customer asked "is that legal? You can't enforce masks." The employee became enraged and demanded the patron either put on a mask or leave the store immediately. The customer immediately left along with an entire family after witnessing the hostile employee. The employee even followed the upset customer out of the store and said he'd be happy to take a picture of the customer to ban him from the store for life. What the (beep) has this world come to where employees in a TOY STORE are immediately pissed off? Guarantee this store lost at least 4 customers for life! The employee should be fired immediately! Magic Mouse Toys is a super-cute, specialty toy shop that boasts lots of creative toys, board games, puzzles, stuffed animals and other high-end learning toys. I love toy stores and tend to frequent Toys R Us and the toy section of Target on a regular basis. However, what I'm looking isn't toys of the learning kind. I'm looking for awesome collectibles, action figures, and of course, Legos! So, I was really excited when I first saw there was a local toy shop right up the street from my place. While Magic Mouse Toys has a small Lego section, it's very limited and the prices are hiked higher than the Lego Store, Target, and Toys R Us. And most of the other toys aren't licensed, but are learning toys or meant for small children. I was also a little sad not to find many action figures. If you're looking for Legos, Pops, Neca action figures, licensed Nintendo toys--this is not your place. BUT that doesn't mean this place isn't a great toy store! It just really depends on what you're looking for. I can see Magic Mouse being a great destination for snagging birthday gifts for kids. I've never actually been helped at this store and most of the interactions I've witnessed haven't been the most pleasant. If anything, I'd say that's one improvement they could make. Customer service is a little lacking. And when you're shopping for toys, it should be a fun experience. read more

This place is a two story toy store with some random toys, puzzles, books and etc. Why the two stars? Because everything here is at least 30% more expensive than other toy stores and retail stores. As a local business owner myself I support small local business, but the prices here are just straight up ridiculous. A book I saw at Target for $7.99 was sold at this store for $17.99, I mean with that kind of price that they charge, I wonder who in the right mind would shop here? Beside every thing being over priced the service was awful, I had some questions and I felt like I was bugging the workers. They look like they didn't want to deal with me, but the moment I turned around after they answer half my question, I notice one of the workers was just following me. Never had I ever been followed like a criminal. At least try to fake it, like you're dusting something near me or reorganizing the shelves. Nope, they straight up eye balled me and watch me like a hawk. Idk, this place could have been fun. Besides the items being over priced, there was a lot of interesting products there. I found many items that I had interested in even when they're trying to charge me an arm and a leg, I could have just given in and brought something. But I didn't appreciate being stared at and stalked, so I just left. Oh well, they save me some money. Because I ended up buying the items I wanted from Amazon! So Thanks! read more

I'd love to give an honest and thorough review of their toy selection and customer service, but we weren't even allowed through the door! My school group went to visit them today- there were eight of us total (yes, just eight). A surly grump met us at the door and rudely told us to leave since we are a school group. They don't allow them. Really disappointed kids, and how embarrassing! There was *no one* in the store at the time. With such rude and indifferent staff, I can't say I'm surprised. Awfully strange attitude to take when most businesses in Pioneer Square are suffering from lack of foot traffic and the area is becoming more of a ghost town everyday.
