This should be a must visit when you are in Pike Place. Make the trek downstairs and look for the photo booth. When I came down here I noticed a line in front of the photo booth and to the left of that booth I saw the coolest Fortune Telling Chicken that caught my eye immediately. I walked over to the other coin-taking machines and noticed I was right in front of Orange Dracula store! Walking in and immediately to your right there is ANOTHER photo booth and this one HAD NO LINE!!!! I was so smitten that I sat down, paid my $5, and took my pictures without being rushed. Do yourself a favor and GO INSIDE! Not only is there that 2nd photo booth everyone wants to go to but there are super uniquely curated spooky and non-spooky stuff in here! I was able to buy the coolest and unique postcards here to send back to my family in Texas. I even got some really cool patches and other oddities to bring back. I had such a great time walking around the store and reading all the small signs and descriptions of what they offer here. I love the humor and the cool reminders on pricing, what things are, and where you could use the thing you just stumbled upon. Service was super friendly and quirky but I like shop owners like this. They are just keeping it real and are my type of vibe. I even saw a rack of water bottles for sale which was nice to see especially after walking around all morning. read more

Wanting to follow up on my review from a few days ago. It's odd that the Yelp and Google reviews for this place were stagnant for months/weeks but after my negative review suddenly there are multiple 5 stars reviews the same day I posted my review. I'm attaching a screenshot of a conversation I had with the owner where they completely missed the point of my review. "Sounds like you got your money back" -- only after MULTIPLE attempts to show the employee my bank statements. Only after she was so rude that a couple left the store and almost didn't ask for their money back until my friend and I tracked them down and let them know all they need to show is their bank statements (She didn't even ask them for proof of payment). Only after having to deal with her HORRIBLE attitude for no reason. And, if I paid in cash looks like it would be a lost cause asking for a refund according to their lack of response to my question. My original review was meant to provide constructive criticism to how the situation was handled. Unfortunately, it seems like nothing will change considering there has been no feedback from the owner on whether or not the employee was spoken to about her attitude. Considering there are multiple reviews complaining about this same employee, seems like these concerns I'm voicing are landing on deaf ears. Very sad to see from such a promising store. read more

First review on Yelp, I think. That was my experience, I don't want to hurt no one. 1. If your country of origin doesn't fit the employee's agendas, be ready to be treated lousy. 2. I was exploring the store leisurely for 5,6 minutes until I was urged in a snobbish manner, I might add, by the employee, to buy the item that I found, because she was going to close, 2:45pm. I did. No receipt has been provided, even after I asked. She just refused. 3. The store itself wants to be cool, but it stays that way, it just 'wants' to be, actually, the store is rather lame, I found one item to purchase, and I looked. Even the rubber duckies are lame. 4. If you want a place where it's Halloween all year long ... or like the kitsch, the ironic, the punk, the goth, the Mod, or the odd ... you'll find your home in the murky depths of Pike Place Market. Technically, the full name is "Orange Dracula 5 & 10." 5 & 10 is an important distinction as it's patterned after the old Five & Dime store. Or, as they put it, "Imagine a Woolworths .... run by the Addams Family." Yeah, that's about right. What will find at OD5&10? More like what WON'T you find! Buttons. Rows and rows of buttons ($2 each) and magnets ($4 bucks each), many with horror move characters, covers from old-time pulp novels, and the just plain kitschy and cool. As a child of the late 70s - early 80s, I love all of their TRUE retro stuff, from board games, to books, to dolls and action figures, to old stand-up arcade games and pinball machines. OD5&10 even has a bunch of prayer candles ... for people and characters I never have seen emblazoned on a prayer candle. And on the other side of the spiritual spectrum, plenty of ouija boards. Don't forget to to try their World Famous Free Range Psychic Chicken Fortune Teller machine ... it's a hoot (or, I guess more accurately, a cock-a-doodle-doo). It's not just fun ... Orange Dracula's little-of-everything selection will make it hard for you to leave without something. It's a great place. All of those pop-culture, kitsch-centric mall chains could learn a thing-or-two from this Dracula, who scares up a lot of fun, both in the dark of night ... or the light of day. read more

This store reminds me of a set out of the 1987 move "The Lost Boys" I don't understand why some people blast this store for having Halloween stuff 365? I think its WONDERFUL because I'm one of "those" people. The owner should be commended for continuing to run such a quirky shop that carries all manner of occult and strange things, including live Tarot Card readings (as well as a mechanized one) all while going against the grain. He runs this shop because it's something he likes and he doesn't really give a rat's patooty who he pleases, obviously. I visited back in July of 2015 as it was on my "must see" list for places to shop at Pike's Place Market as I am into the strange and unusual places that doesn't involve flogging, spanking, nudity or melted chocolate in R-rated places. I didn't buy anything for a number of reasons: too big, too expensive, too dusty but that didn't stop me from enjoying the store. I think he may appeal more to the "gothy" types by selling more elegant creepy things like Alchemy Gothic jewelry, black lacy bat table cloths, skull candelabras and perhaps a few shrunken head salt and pepper shakers, life-sized, of course. read more

Whenever I've been here, it's been fun. There's a lot of stuff here I'd never buy, or think about buying, but isn't that the perk of having a store like this? A visit could result in an unexpected purchase. What I really appreciate is that the owner is obviously a lover of Edward Gorey. He get's his own little nook in the store, and I've almost always gotten a Gorey related item. Also, I appreciate the cheesy stickers that you can get, like "vaginal use only" and that kind of dumb frat bro crap. Sometimes you just know that person you'll want to send a picture of yourself with the "oral use only" sticker placed over your.... well, you get it. Also dig the Photo Booth for aforementioned photo/sticker combination. Interesting postcards too, if you wanna send something random to a faraway friend. I've always found the staff friendly, I even chit chat with the owner sometimes. Worth finding. It's hidden in the bowels of the PPM, so it's almost never crowded. Not nearly as much as the top.. which is just awful. read more

This place is so hilarious and cool and rock'n'roll. They don't sell (much) music, but it feels more like a record store than the actual record store in the tourist market. A freaky junk shop with things to make you laugh or cringe. Stickers you can buy that say things like, "ANIMAL IN HEAT", "TAKE WITH FOOD OR MILK", and "CAUTION: VERY HOT". Lots of fun patches including music (I got a Prince one), pop culture, and feminism. Bizarre overpriced objects, like a tiny Trump pinata (I think it was like $45??), and little rubber fetuses for $10 each. Like, I don't care if your rubber fetuses are "vintage", they're rubber fetuses. I would pay about $3, max. I wanted to buy one to go nail to Kurt's bench, since I think he would like that, but... $10. Aww. Fake moustaches (I must have seen some), peculiar and erotic postcards (I got one of an awkward white lady trying to comb Jimi's fro), cat noise generators, buttons for all your favourite goth bands, Manic Panic hair dye, very cool sunglasses, cold drinks, cute plush animals, a few CDs, rugs??? I think??, "edible drum sticks" (aka beef jerky, LOL), and many more Very Special Items. Prices are kinda touristy, but it *is* in tourist central and I'm sure the real estate warrants it. I might have gone crazy buying patches if they were just a little cheaper. Clearly the best postcards in Seattle. Well done on that. I do recommend picking up a copy of PORK 'zine, here. Orange Dracula fits the term quirky amongst all of the other shops in Pike Market quite nicely. The business is a smorgasbord of Halloween, punk and other oddities. They have an impressive selection of pins for your jacket or wherever you may want to display them. Probably the thing I liked most was CDs which looked like they were made by local artists. When I first checked out Pike Place, I did a bit of research of the stores that are inside of the market and bookmarked a few places that I were there, including this one. It just seemed very "me." It's got a collection of horror, comedy, mysticism, 90s nostalgia, and juvenile joke items. You'll find buttons, magnets, postcards, collectible cards, and other small things especially good for bringing on your luggage as gifts for your weirdly wonderful, horror-obsessed friend back home. We chatted a bit with the owner (?) of the store, and he was saying how people from out-of-town like the store because they say it's unlike anything they've ever seen before, and when I made the comparison that it reminded me of a cross between Hot Topic and Spencer's, he seemed sort of insulted by that, but really... That's what it reminded me of, but when you can support a local business, why not do that instead of a chain? Prices were comparable to those types of shops, I'd say. Some stuff was a bit pricey, and other things seemed adequately priced. THE VERDICT: One word describes this place: kitsch. I left the store with a strip from the Photobooth, and a few gifts for friends back home (Sailor Moon collectible cards, Dark Shadow cards from the 90s, a few horror/witchy magnets). If nothing else, this place is fun to go to for the Photobooth, but it also just has a lot of fun things in general. Definitely worth checking out if you or friends you're getting gifts for like any of the following: horror, juvenile joke items, witchy things, 90s animes, Halloween-y things (both spooky and spoopy), or pop culture. read more

If that doesn't make you smile, you have problems. Described as retro kitsch, OD has the randomest of trinkets. Edward Gorey tarot cards, Halloween stuff, skulls, punk memorabilia, local artist works and more. Just visited yesterday. I was in Seattle for work and had some time to kill between hotel check out and my flight so I wondered Pikes Place. I am soooo glad I didn't miss this place (on the bottom floor, so it was a close call). As soon as I clapped eyes on it I knew it was for me. This is sort of a "Either ya get it or ya don't" type place, so, make of this what you will: They had vintage, packaged vampire teeth and fake blood. A vintage Tor Johnson Halloween mask The only band poster they had was of the Cramps There was a Dracula pinball machine. Either this kind of stuff means something to you or it doesn't. I chatted with the proprietor for a while about mask collecting, shopping the post Halloween clearance sales, and stuff like that. He knew who Tarantula Ghoul was! The guy was super cool. My husband and I spent 30 minutes trying to find this shop. Don't trust google it lead us on a wild goose chase, but we didn't give up finding it. Boy where we glad we found it. Its on the third floor inside pikes place. Any way we spent about an hour in the shop. Even though its a little small every time we walked around we saw something that grabbed our eye. Orange Dracula has alot of old collectors cards, toys, and halloween stuff. No its not just halloween stuff. They also Horror stuff, Gothic stuff, Magic stuff, Punk stuff, and Nerdy stuff. We spent almost all our souvenir money here. They have a working fortune teller machine with an old gypsy woman that gives you a card. It was a pretty cool place. The staff member was very friendly and helpful. He knew exactly what he had in stock even if it wasn't on the floor. Wish we had a similar shop back home. read more

Aside from the cool pinball machine and Pac Man Arcade game in the corner I really had high hopes for this place in terms of inventory. This place could've and should've been something instead of mostly filled with campy Halloween like stuff. The lady at the til seemed spacey and just not there (just not really paying attention to anything). The black cat named Billy was really sweet and gave me a head butt so were all good.
