I've been here twice already, and even though it's a popular Asian hangout place, obviously for tea (as far as I can see in the pictures), I've stuck with the coffee. I've seen a few people who order coffee other than me as well. Why? Well, you should see the espresso machine they have - it's impressive and it would be a shame to see it not go to use! ;) But also because the coffee here has always been perfectly made, much to my surprise. Perfect amount of foam for the cappuccino. Perfect choice of beans, not too dark roasted, and not too light either. Not bitter, and it's just drinkable all around. The only thing that I could wish for is for them to have real porcelain/ glass cups to emulate the perfect experience anyone can get at a coffee house. There's something not pleasurable about getting coffee in one of those paper cups even if you're going to be drinking it indoors - because to me, it evokes an imagination that I should be on the go, rushing to some place where I don't want to be. But since this is Asian..., and because it seems that boba tea gets the bulk of their business, I guess I shouldn't wish for too much. While they don't have lunch plates for those who may want to eat during the lunch rush, they do have bites/ snacks. I had the Voodoo chicken, which is just pieces of home-fried chicken nuggets, and they were pretty tasty. You pick the spiciness level, 0 to 5. I picked 1 as I was told they just seasoned it with salt and pepper, Asian style, and it had that perfect amount of kick. For people who don't like spicy food, 1 is safe. Don't go any higher though! Great friendly service, great coffee. As for the location, it can seem to be a bit out of the way, but considering that there's a lot of boba tea places around here, and no coffee shops (that isn't a Starbucks), I think this is actually a great location for them. Our new go-to boba tea place in Richardson, we love the Magic Cup! We really enjoyed our visit here this evening. We had heard about Magic Cup From a friend of ours, but we never had come over to try it until our previous boba tea place in Cali Saigon Mall closed. Magic cup is just up the street in the Block24 development, so it is very convenient for us. The menu and variety of flavors was just right - all our faves, but not so many that you can't choose. There is something here for everyone: straight coffee folks, creamy Asian bobas, and the mad experimenters - everyone can find something to their liking at Magic Cup. They have the full pallette of bobas and jellies to go into your drinks, including popping boba in several flavors, traditional black boba and diced flavoured jellies. My older daughter got a hazelnut mocha boba with coffee jellies, and really enjoyed it. She liked it so much that this may give the lychee boba a run for its supremacy! We ordered a House Milk Tea with boba (20% sweet) and a Ginger Milk Tea (50% sweet). Both of them taste like there is some kind of syrup in them, especially the Ginger tastes completely fake... Being a boba aficionado, I had to try this place out since it's right next to my house. I love the look of the place. It's open and bright, and has a cute little patio. I also really like that a lot of their menu items contain fresh fruit. I ordered the chamango and the strawberry peach iced tea. The chamango was just alright for me. It's a mango smoothie, with some mango chunks and chamoy swirled in. It also comes with a straw wrapped in tamarind candy, which made the presentation really impressive. I think they overdid it on the chamoy for me, because my drink was just plain salty. I could only drink about 1/4 before I had to give up. I enjoyed the tamarind candy straw though. The iced tea was also ok. I enjoyed the fresh fruit inside, but the tea itself had a very artificial peachy flavor to it. I wish that they had just taken regular sweet tea and added fruit so that it would taste more natural. To be honest, I was a little disappointed. maybe I'll have better luck next time. We ordered the Fruit Team Madness (Strawberry mango lychee iced tea with mango, strawberry, and rainbow jelly) and Vera Blossom (Mango peach iced tea with aloe vera and mango fruit bits) Special-Teas. The Fruit Team Madness was our favorite due to the sweetness even though we adjusted the sweetness level to 75%. The Vera was fine but not as flavorful as the Fruit Team. Overall, Magic Cup has a VAST menu with lots of teas to try. We will be back to try the other items on their menu. read more

My girlfriend is obsessed with this place....enough said lol She's had fruit tea madness (great if you have a sweet tooth and includes real pieces of fruit and jellies). Her favorite out of the fruit teas is the passion blast, which also has real fruit and jellies in it. And according to her, the macha green tea is the best in the area! This facility is located below an apartment complex, is great for families, and the workers there are always super friendly. And there are also numerous free parking spaces around it. Drooool... what else can I say? Brought my parents and uncle and aunt here to hang out and catch up. The cha-Mango was unbelievably good. My mom got the signature version with the fruit on it and we all gobbled it up so fast! The spice on it is like the Mexican spicy salt that you find on Mexican candies but it also imitates this mango treat we love in Thailand. The fresh mango was perfectly sweet and tart. I'm not sure what they do when it's not in season. Though that was the highlight of the drinks, I LOVED MY GREEN TEA FRAPPE, but I am an all around matcha lover. I skipped out on whipped cream to save myself from some calories, and it was still delicious. Final drink shown is a cafe sua da, which is a favorite of mine. If you don't know what it is, it's a Vietnamese coffee. They were colonized long ago by the French, and this is one of the little gems that came out of that. It is a dark roast, traditionally slow dripped, and then mixed with sweet condensed milk. I love it and it's a great pick me up. Hard to mess it up too wherever you order it. read more

What a wonderful surprise! Headed here because we were in the area and wanted boba. I got the green Thai tea (my go to if I have no idea what I want) and my brother got a mango passion fruit slush. This places is great, good service and great drinks. The ambiance is relaxing with a modern feel. They have games, free Wi-Fi, a print if you need to print something and a nice outdoor patio. I recently visited the store on Jupiter in Richardson and they had one person working on a Thursday night. I'm sure one or two coworkers bailed on this person but the guy was hustling to get drinks out. You could tell he cared for the place and didn't want customers to wait too long. This review is based on my trip back in January 2017. Wow, late. I know.. oops. Service (4/5): The staff were friendly and answered any questions that I had as it was my first time there. Ambiance (4/5): Very clean and cute. The inside layout of this magic cup is different than the layout of the Houston location. I would say it's a bit smaller than the Houston one, and they don't have a drive-thru here. But they do provide tables and have outdoor seating as well. Not sure about WiFi and outlets though.. didn't stay long enough to check. Jasmine milk tea w/boba (4/5): Usually this drink is a hit or miss for me. Either too sweet or too flavorless, but I enjoyed this one very much. It has a more jasmine-y taste (if that makes sense) and I really liked that. The boba was good as well. Not too hard and not too squishy.. had a really good consistency. Overall, I enjoyed my visit! 1.5 stars for their house milk tea with boba and 4 stars for their strawberry peach fruit drink. First, the milk tea tasted pretty dilute and left a somewhat bitter taste in my mouth at the end of each sip. It was sweet, but also lacking in any depth of flavor. The boba was horrible. It was overcooked and mushy, and had no significant honey flavor, even though they call it "honey boba". However, their strawberry peach drink was very good. It had real fruit bits in the drink, which added great texture and flavor to the drink. It was a little too sweet though. It was definitely much better than their milk tea, and I would probably get one of their fruit drinks or slushes over any of their milk teas, because it seems like they do a much better job with the fruit drinks. I was also disappointed by the fact that they use a normal lid on top of their drinks. It doesn't allow you to shake the drink and mix it around effectively if there is a pool of boba sitting gat the bottom. Service was quick and the prices were very reasonable. read more

This is an awesome place to not only order up something you wouldn't typically find elsewhere, but to just sit and chill and watch the traffic. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I like Magic Cup. I like how you can choose non dairy - almond, coconut, or soy milk - and 25%-75% less sugar. I made the mistake of ordering 75% less sugar one time but it still tasted good. I usually order milk tea and I was glad to find out it is non dairy. I knocked off a star because of the $4 card minimum. I don't usually carry cash so the last time I came here I had to order 24 oz with honey boba so that I can use my card. I felt like I am forced to order more just to reach that minimum. I have been back here several times and still really enjoy it! I have since tried the cha-strawberry and the cha-pineapple, so I thought I would do a little comparison of the cha drinks since that seems to be a popular menu item. In order of preference: 1. Cha-pineapple is definitely my favorite. I already love the taste of pineapple in general, but I think it tastes exceptionally good paired with the chamoy. Pineapple is a fruit that isn't just sweet but also has some tartness, and I feel like that tartness pairs best with the spiciness of the rest of the drink. 2. Cha-mango is a close runner up. It is the most traditional of all the pairings and would be my recommendation if you are not sure which to chose, because I feel like it is the safe pick most people would like. 3. Cha-strawberry is my least favorite. It wasn't bad at all, but I just feel like strawberry is too sweet of a fruit compared to mango or pineapple, and doesn't pair as nicely with the chamoy. I have not yet tried the cha-melon, which I believe is made with watermelon, because I'm wary of how the watermelon will taste with the chamoy. Since watermelon doesn't have too strong of a taste by itself I'm worried that the chamoy will completely overpower it and then the whole drink will just taste like straight hot sauce. read more

This is one of the best bobas I've had in a long time. That thai green tea is really something else. Not too sweet, but quite milky and smooth with a complex matcha type flavor. Paired with something like grass jelly to cut the sweetness even more makes a perfectly rounded out drink. If I worked around here, I feel I would frequent a lot for this drink. I've also tried the coconut milk tea with pearls, which is alright. The boba is well textured and springy enough but the coconut is a bit too strong for my liking...I tend to like my coconut drinks with just a hint of coconut but here it's a bit too overwhelming. I came here on a Friday afternoon to study and tried their Matcha Green Tea. The Matcha wasn't the best I've had but I still enjoyed it. It had a thick consistency rather than being smooth and silky but thankfully the Match flavor was rich enough. Before drinking, I let the drink sit a bit to let the ice cubes melt and lessen the thickness. What I really liked about Magic Cup, though, was the ambiance. They had the store decked out for Halloween - kudos on the interior design and attention to detail! I also appreciated the BRIGHT lights that they had. The lighting is better than other coffee and boba tea shops I try to study at. I could also tell that Magic Cup is a staple for many students and families, especially since it's conveniently located underneath and besides apartment complexes. I came before school let out for the youngsters but saw many come in throughout the late afternoon and evening. Summary: the cup wasn't so magical but the store was. Taro milk tea and Chamango are my two go-to drinks here. Although, each drink is not made fresh-to-order, the drinks are always consistent. The taro milk tea is sweet, so if you're not too much of a sweet tooth person, let them know and they'll make it less sweet. The Chamango is sometimes consistent just because it's not always mango season, so I can understand that. I love really soft boba and this place always serve just that. To be very honest, the only thing dropping this spot down to a 4 star is the fact that the service is absolute crap. Maybe 10/100 times I have been here, I have gotten a greeting of some sort or smile. Sometimes the only words I get out of the workers are "total is $..." and "order number..".
