Magic Cup - Cha-Mango at Magic Cup! Sooooo good. - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

-Macha Green Tea ... Hmmm~ all I can say is that it was very disappointing. It was gritty and felt like it was made from instant matcha powder, making it displeasing to drink. HOWEVER, the Vietnamese Coffee Frapp hit the nail on the Flavor; it reminded me of a Vietnamese Coffee with Condensed milk. It contained a strong yet not overwhelming flavor of Vietnamese coffee. Just the way I like it, I am probably going to get it again next time I go. WARNING: It does get a little too sweet at the bottom of the drink because there is a drizzled of condensed milk at the bottom. SO it is a good idea to mix it all up, so the sweetness is distributed throughout the whole drink rather than being too sweet when finishing your drink. Lastly, the Voodoo Chicken was average to say the least, nothing that special but, I do appreciate that it was hot when being served to me (bonus points!). Setting: Magic Cup has (what do people call it nowadays) ah! Good vibes, it is a good hang out spot if you want to meet up with a friend or two ( or four). However, it does get a very packed in there so finding a seat and a game to play might be a challenge of it own. Overall : I am a fan but not crazy over it. read more

Magic Cup - Very refreshing! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Favorite boba tea place in Bellaire/Houston. I've tried multiple milk teas, fruit teas and frappes. I recommend the Thai Green Milk Tea and the Viet Coffee Frappe. The Thai green milk tea is very refreshing and basically tastes like a fusion of Thai milk tea and green milk tea. The Viet Coffee Frappe has condense milk at the bottom and has a thicker frappe consistency compared to the regular Viet coffee. The fruit tea madness was very tart and sweet with lots of bits of strawberries, mangos and other fruit jellies. Also love love love the kimchi fries! I usually just get the kimchi fries as is but there are options of add ons such as bacon and sunny side up egg. There is also an option to add spam as well if you're a spam fan. read more

I really appreciate that the owner has reached out to me regarding my visit. I always rate customer service highly. Will definitely come back for the passion fruit! read more

I've been back here a couple of times after my first botched attempt when they first opened and I have to say that it's decently good. The food items in the menu are different then the typical ones you'd see at other tap houses like their pho dip, curly fries, and spam banh mi with an egg. Of course, you still can get your fried calamari and what they call their voodoo chicken. All very good and a must try. I've been drawn to their jasmine milk tea lately. Very simple yet delicious drink and refreshing too. My jasmine milk tea has to have that fragrant tea flavor and scent which Magic Cup has no problem producing every time. Their egg pudding is decent too but not as good as Honeybee's egg pudding. This is also a great spot to play games with a group of friends as it's not overly crowded like Gong Cha and Shared Tea in the heart of Chinatown. Worth the visit! read more

I just spent $10 bucks before tip on a small milk tea and an order of fried squid. I received a 16oz cup filled with ice to the rim and 8 rings of calamari. I ain't cheap, but I've never felt so jipped in my life. Milk tea was too sweet and the calamari was meh. I could've gone to Chick-fi-la and ordered a whole meal with $10! Weaaaaak. read more

Magic Cup - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Magic Cup has put a spell on me. Changing that old Churches Chicken into modern enchanting décor was a "magical" transformation. It shines like a Gem down the heavily traveled Bellaire strip. I tried the passion blast which was fresh and fulfilling. Being so good, it didn't last before I finished my food. When I first seen seeds I was sceptical but I loved the delicate crunch and how it enhanced the flavor. Definitely going to enjoy again. That voodoo chicken mesmerized my taste buds with its unique flavors and nice crunch leaving me wanting more. Paired it with the garlic wings with a sauce that taste like a grandmother's special recipe. The sauce was so good, I dipped the tofu and magic puffs in it. Yum! I will be back! read more

Very nice chill place. The service is superb! I was attended by this gentleman named Jorge. He took my order and once it was done, walked it to my table. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee with Boba and the calamari(medium spice). The calamri had the right amount of spice and had my nose running (hint: i dont eat spicy food). Everything was great will be coming again and telling all my ninjas about it! read more

Magic Cup - Vietnamese coffee with Boba and sweet basil calamari - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Houston, Texas

Nice people. Clean place. Trendy scene. Like It! Good sized boba. Only tried green tea matcha with soy. But was good overall.

I've been here a few times. And all other times were ok, but this one time I came it was the worst experience ever. I order a milk tea, same as every time. And this time it tastes extra different and super sweet. I told the girl at the drive thru window and she said "it was made like that." Ok great customer service!!! read more

If you're ever near Hong Kong mall, you have to try this place! My favorite drink here is the orange blossom since it's tart and refreshing. I also get a small order of spicy chicken nuggets to pair with my drinks. I can't wait to go back and try their famous cha watermelon. read more

I love their Sea Foam Green/Oolong tea with agar jelly. The staff has always been nice.

Magic cup is one of my favorite places when I feel like getting boba! The staff there is very nice and patient

Love getting the peach and strawberry Tea, it's a green tea with peach and strawberry fruit bits so refreshing!

Came here a few months ago & had a turn off from when I would hear how loud the employees were behind the counter. One girl was laughing extremely and obnoxiously loud to where my group of friends actually all turned to see what was going on. We ordered on the phone for a few drinks & snacks. Came, paid & got our drinks right away. Snacks? They were already made & done but the employees were either careless or didn't communicate very well to where we had to ask if our foods were ready after 10-15 minutes of waiting. Came here actually tonight & ordered the voodoo chicken. Lacks flavor to me. Just tastes like chicken with little to no seasoning. I actually came to liking the dried basil but didn't even eat it because it had no flavor. Every drink I've gotten or heard about was either lacking in flavor, watered down or just not good. I don't bother with the drinks anymore unless it's the cha-watermelon. which isn't too great because of the old watermelon fruits they put on top but the drink itself is good. could use more chamoy but it's good, i guess. Game section is now MUCH better from before. Before, they couldn't care less about the games & just left it how customers would leave it; MESSY, UNORGANIZED, & mixed and matched games. None of the games were complete. Now, the game sections has signs to where you would take & exchange it for an important item; like your ID or keys. I exchanged my ID for a deck of cards. When I got them, cards were missing so I asked to exchange them for another deck. They said they have two but somehow, they only have the one I was given. Not a big deal since one or two cards were missing, I just didn't want anything to be accused & blamed so I gave them a heads up, just so they won't keep my ID because I supposedly lost their cards lol. Atmosphere is still nice. Clean & modern. Other than that, food & snacks aren't worth it. I only come here because I get off of work & they open until 11PM & my friend somewhat likes it. Pros: - A lot of games. - Nice outdoor seating with umbrella stands. - Water cooler & everything else you need is outside for self serve use. Ketchup, sriracha, spoons, forks, napkins, straws, etc. - Great electronic points system opposed to the stamp/punch cards most tapioca places have. - New "beeper" to let you know your order is ready rather than screaming out orders. - Open & comfy eating/studying/working area. - Always an officer around if anything happens to go wrong. - Parking is never an issue. - Very cute atmosphere to hang out with friends/family. - Diverse employees who speak Vietnamese, English and/or Spanish from what I know & hear. Cons: - Loud employees. - Food & drinks lack flavor. read more

I always get the fruit tea madness since it's so refreshing. Recently, I've been on an avocado fix. So I've ordered their smashed avocado. $5.89 for a small sized portion and I've ordered it 3 different times. First time, the portion of avocado was decent. Then it started to lessen. The most recent one, the drink was an inch below the rim of the cup and it was heavy with the condensed milk. I don't think I'm getting my money's worth. read more

The drinks were over priced...if costs $5 something for a fruit tea, which I could buy at other tapioca houses for $3..seriously? The chicken nuggets were $6, it wasn't even good, when I could buy it at tea bar, Kim's tea house or boba for less than $5. Mediocre drinks, nothing special. The location is so ghetto, when I walked out of the parking lot, i felt like I'm going to get robbed at any minute. read more

The service here is great. I tried the lavender vanilla latte and it did not have a hint of coffee. I like the taste anyways because it reminds me of a dipping sauce. The cafe sua da is not great here so I would pass on that. read more

I stopped by this morning to grab a quick drink since this is the only tapioca shop near the bellaire area that opens before 7! First off, location wise, not the best area BUT the pro is that I'm able to avoid Chinatown traffic to stop by here to get a drink! Why would I want to drive down Chinatown and fight for parking spots just to grab a tap drink when this location has plenty of parking space and no competition (which is pretty smart). I walked in and was immediately greeted by the workers! Despite arriving at 7:30 to get my drinks, all the workers seemed super energetic, extremely friendly, and very helpful! In my opinion, a lot of the low ratings/reviews on here mention how this place doesn't compare to other tapioca joints in bellaire but why compare businesses and their drinks when the review on this business is solely meant for this business?! It's obvious if you compare the tapioca drinks here to other tapioca places, certain drinks would be lacking in some aspect but why would anyone open a store to taste the equivalent to another store. I have to say that every tapioca joint has their own speciality and if you're coming here expecting a milk tea, you might be disappointed but if you come here for a fruit smoothie, you'll be extremely satisfied! I tried the Tropical Paradise and Cha-watermelon and I have to say that the Cha-watermelon is super refreshing!! It's almost summer time and I'll definitely be stopping by here more often!! Furthermore, I love the fact that this place uses real, fresh fruits for their drinks!! read more

Magic cup was perfect for studying. I went with a couple friends early in the afternoon to get some work done and the atmosphere was great. There are nice big tables and outlets everywhere. Something I really appreciated about this place, that also set it apart, was how much natural light comes into the restaurant. It is practically surrounded by windows on three sides. The boba was also cooked great and the drinks were delicious. They have a vast menu, which was great cause one of my friends was also vegetarian. Their food menu has so many options and they were all great, especially the fries. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy, especially when it started to get busier as the sun went down. However this was totally understandable since it was also used as a hangout spot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a study spot and also as a hangout spot. I will definitely be going back! read more

Khong ngon, cho ngoi thì chán phèo. Nuoc và đ ăn không có gi dac biet. This place is way overated..

Super crisp and creamy milk tea! I stopped by today after noticing the new cafe on my drive to the dentist. It was such a hot day and I needed a cold and refreshing drink. My go to drink is always milk tea anywhere I go. Magic Cup serves up some standard milk tea that isn't too watery or too sweet. So it isn't the best I've had, but as I mentioned, its standard, which isn't a bad thing. The drink was nicely sweetened, creamy and not too strong tasting. Shop workers were nice enough to let me try a small sample before deciding. Tapioca is included so I went ahead with it. But personally, I asked for 1/2 boba and 1/2 ice. The drink was a nice pick me up on this sweltering day. The inside of the cafe is clean and spacious. Plenty of chairs and tables to situate yourself upon. The menu is quite large and extensive. Magic Cup has plenty of smoothies and fresh fruit juice options as well. I'll definitely visit again and try something new. The parking is a bit small and strangely situated, but I was able to get decent parking in the afternoon. They've got some snack food options at Magic Cup as well. Always nice to have new cafe choices in the area. Try it and see for yourself! Oh, and good customer service is always appreciated. Thanks guys! read more

This place needs to improve on their drinks. Their tapioca pearls were super mushy. Very, very mushy. It was pasty mushy. Did I mention the tapioca pearls were mushy? Ewww. Green milk tea was grainy, powdery, little bitter. Their fruit tea with strawberry bits tasted bitter, almost like eating a bitter grapefruit. We sat outside and it smelled really bad because their landscaping people used that black looking cedar chips for the flower bed. It smelled like sitting next to a large commercial trash can. It is very over priced even for their grand opening special. Definitely won't give it another try. On the positive note their taro coconut slushy/smoothie is good. read more

I was here yesterday with my girlfriend. We order Cha-Strawberry and Vodoo Chicken. Well the drink is okay but the the vodoo chicken is horrible. It had blood in it. They literally rush the chicken out of the kitchen or something. SO much over for the hyping. Disappointed and won't be back. read more

kimchi fries. Were the best I've ever had. I was full and I still ate them all. Vietnamese coffee was on point.

On the streets of Bellaire, you will find tapioca aka boba, aka pearls everywhere. There is a lot of competition therefore I think Magic Cup needs to improve their milk teas. The tea flavor for the Jasmine milk tea is overpowering and slightly bitter. It doesn't taste like the usual creamy milk tea. For the Thai Green Milk Tea, I like it but they might have to increase the ratio of tea to milk because it becomes too sweet and dairy like. However I am giving it 4's because the voodoo chicken (popcorn chicken) is tasty and I love the crunchy basil pieces. Service is great and the drinks come out pretty fast. I believe there is potential for improvement regarding the drinks. I will be trying the cha-melon next and from reviews, I believe it'll be great! read more

I have visited this location 3 times in the past few days (once every day). The first visit (which was also my first time trying Magic Cup) was great -- so great that I came back the next day. During my second visit in the evening, one of my drinks were messed up (cashier rung up a different drink than what I said in the drive thru). They remade it for me, so I decided to come back again in hopes there wouldn't be any issues like the first visit plus I was craving another frappe. I went through the drive thru again not too long ago and the same cashier (Gabriella L) messed up my order AGAIN. This time, both drinks were incorrect. To add insult to injury, her attitude was very unpleasant and quite frankly, rude while ordering. I am so disappointed by the poor customer service from here. Definitely ruined my experience of Magic Cup and has turned me completely off with this establishment. read more

Employee without mask! Went to the drive-through the other day and it was a about a 15 minute wait until I got my food with only one car ahead of me. I didn't mind, but usually they are pretty fast. Come to find out, there was only one employee making all the drinks and food with no mask on. If you come here, be careful because it does not seem like they are taking the right health precautions. read more

Looking for a place to chill while waiting for a friend, Magic Cup looked to fit the bill! The front counter has a large display for their menu of drinks and snacks, while the dining area is large and spacious with plenty of seating for dining, working/studying, or just sitting around. There are some games provided on a shelf to play with your group during your visit as well; we played Jenga for a while. They also have a patio outside, but I didn't go out there, so I can't comment on anything in that aspect. The Ca Phe Sua Da we thought was too strong, while the House Viet Coffee was too sweet, so we ended up mixing the two drinks to make the perfect level of sweet and strong coffee. The fruit teas were also a tasty, refreshing treat, as you can taste both the flavors of tea and fruit complementing each other. I don't like the idea of "sea foam" (sea salt whipped cream), as it sounds gimmicky to me. read more

So I only ever get the special drinks here, I really enjoy the Orange Blossom drink because I LOVE kumquat. The smoothies are just ok according to my mom. My only gripe is that when you pay cash...they will ask if you want your change! Wtf is that even?? Ok, that may be a little much...but please don't make my monetary decisions for me Magic Cup. They have a very clean, friendly, and modern environment! I tried the cha-melon the first time and it was amazing. It was the perfect blend if sweet and tangy. It's perfect for a hot day.
