-Macha Green Tea ... Hmmm~ all I can say is that it was very disappointing. It was gritty and felt like it was made from instant matcha powder, making it displeasing to drink. HOWEVER, the Vietnamese Coffee Frapp hit the nail on the Flavor; it reminded me of a Vietnamese Coffee with Condensed milk. It contained a strong yet not overwhelming flavor of Vietnamese coffee. Just the way I like it, I am probably going to get it again next time I go. WARNING: It does get a little too sweet at the bottom of the drink because there is a drizzled of condensed milk at the bottom. SO it is a good idea to mix it all up, so the sweetness is distributed throughout the whole drink rather than being too sweet when finishing your drink. Lastly, the Voodoo Chicken was average to say the least, nothing that special but, I do appreciate that it was hot when being served to me (bonus points!). Setting: Magic Cup has (what do people call it nowadays) ah! Good vibes, it is a good hang out spot if you want to meet up with a friend or two ( or four). Came here a few months ago & had a turn off from when I would hear how loud the employees were behind the counter. One girl was laughing extremely and obnoxiously loud to where my group of friends actually all turned to see what was going on. We ordered on the phone for a few drinks & snacks. Came, paid & got our drinks right away. Snacks? They were already made & done but the employees were either careless or didn't communicate very well to where we had to ask if our foods were ready after 10-15 minutes of waiting. Came here actually tonight & ordered the voodoo chicken. Lacks flavor to me. Just tastes like chicken with little to no seasoning. I actually came to liking the dried basil but didn't even eat it because it had no flavor. Every drink I've gotten or heard about was either lacking in flavor, watered down or just not good. I don't bother with the drinks anymore unless it's the cha-watermelon. which isn't too great because of the old watermelon fruits they put on top but the drink itself is good. could use more chamoy but it's good, i guess. Game section is now MUCH better from before. Before, they couldn't care less about the games & just left it how customers would leave it; MESSY, UNORGANIZED, & mixed and matched games. None of the games were complete. Now, the game sections has signs to where you would take & exchange it for an important item; like your ID or keys. I exchanged my ID for a deck of cards. When I got them, cards were missing so I asked to exchange them for another deck. They said they have two but somehow, they only have the one I was given. Not a big deal since one or two cards were missing, I just didn't want anything to be accused & blamed so I gave them a heads up, just so they won't keep my ID because I supposedly lost their cards lol. Atmosphere is still nice. Clean & modern. Other than that, food & snacks aren't worth it. I only come here because I get off of work & they open until 11PM & my friend somewhat likes it. Pros: - A lot of games. - Nice outdoor seating with umbrella stands. - Water cooler & everything else you need is outside for self serve use. Ketchup, sriracha, spoons, forks, napkins, straws, etc. - Great electronic points system opposed to the stamp/punch cards most tapioca places have. - New "beeper" to let you know your order is ready rather than screaming out orders. - Open & comfy eating/studying/working area. - Always an officer around if anything happens to go wrong. - Parking is never an issue. - Very cute atmosphere to hang out with friends/family. - Diverse employees who speak Vietnamese, English and/or Spanish from what I know & hear. Magic cup was perfect for studying. I went with a couple friends early in the afternoon to get some work done and the atmosphere was great. There are nice big tables and outlets everywhere. Something I really appreciated about this place, that also set it apart, was how much natural light comes into the restaurant. It is practically surrounded by windows on three sides. The boba was also cooked great and the drinks were delicious. They have a vast menu, which was great cause one of my friends was also vegetarian. Their food menu has so many options and they were all great, especially the fries. The only downside was that it was a bit noisy, especially when it started to get busier as the sun went down. However this was totally understandable since it was also used as a hangout spot. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as a study spot and also as a hangout spot. When I first seen seeds I was sceptical but I loved the delicate crunch and how it enhanced the flavor. Definitely going to enjoy again. That voodoo chicken mesmerized my taste buds with its unique flavors and nice crunch leaving me wanting more. I have visited this location 3 times in the past few days (once every day). The first visit (which was also my first time trying Magic Cup) was great -- so great that I came back the next day. During my second visit in the evening, one of my drinks were messed up (cashier rung up a different drink than what I said in the drive thru). They remade it for me, so I decided to come back again in hopes there wouldn't be any issues like the first visit plus I was craving another frappe. I went through the drive thru again not too long ago and the same cashier (Gabriella L) messed up my order AGAIN. This time, both drinks were incorrect. To add insult to injury, her attitude was very unpleasant and quite frankly, rude while ordering. I am so disappointed by the poor customer service from here. Looking for a place to chill while waiting for a friend, Magic Cup looked to fit the bill! The front counter has a large display for their menu of drinks and snacks, while the dining area is large and spacious with plenty of seating for dining, working/studying, or just sitting around. There are some games provided on a shelf to play with your group during your visit as well; we played Jenga for a while. They also have a patio outside, but I didn't go out there, so I can't comment on anything in that aspect. The Ca Phe Sua Da we thought was too strong, while the House Viet Coffee was too sweet, so we ended up mixing the two drinks to make the perfect level of sweet and strong coffee. The fruit teas were also a tasty, refreshing treat, as you can taste both the flavors of tea and fruit complementing each other. Super crisp and creamy milk tea! I stopped by today after noticing the new cafe on my drive to the dentist. It was such a hot day and I needed a cold and refreshing drink. My go to drink is always milk tea anywhere I go. Magic Cup serves up some standard milk tea that isn't too watery or too sweet. So it isn't the best I've had, but as I mentioned, its standard, which isn't a bad thing. The drink was nicely sweetened, creamy and not too strong tasting. Shop workers were nice enough to let me try a small sample before deciding. Tapioca is included so I went ahead with it. But personally, I asked for 1/2 boba and 1/2 ice. The drink was a nice pick me up on this sweltering day. The inside of the cafe is clean and spacious. Plenty of chairs and tables to situate yourself upon. The menu is quite large and extensive. Magic Cup has plenty of smoothies and fresh fruit juice options as well. I'll definitely visit again and try something new. The parking is a bit small and strangely situated, but I was able to get decent parking in the afternoon. They've got some snack food options at Magic Cup as well. A few months ago, I tried the tarot milk tea with different sugar levels on three different days trying to find the perfect sweetness for me, but they all tasted the same -- WAY TOO SWEET. I stopped by this morning to grab a quick drink since this is the only tapioca shop near the bellaire area that opens before 7! First off, location wise, not the best area BUT the pro is that I'm able to avoid Chinatown traffic to stop by here to get a drink! Why would I want to drive down Chinatown and fight for parking spots just to grab a tap drink when this location has plenty of parking space and no competition (which is pretty smart). I walked in and was immediately greeted by the workers! Despite arriving at 7:30 to get my drinks, all the workers seemed super energetic, extremely friendly, and very helpful! In my opinion, a lot of the low ratings/reviews on here mention how this place doesn't compare to other tapioca joints in bellaire but why compare businesses and their drinks when the review on this business is solely meant for this business?! It's obvious if you compare the tapioca drinks here to other tapioca places, certain drinks would be lacking in some aspect but why would anyone open a store to taste the equivalent to another store. I have to say that every tapioca joint has their own speciality and if you're coming here expecting a milk tea, you might be disappointed but if you come here for a fruit smoothie, you'll be extremely satisfied!
