Lunch comes with egg roll, asked server for it a few minutes after our food came. Another employee can and asked if we got a Rangoon. Yes, tough and very small, she said they substituted. Odd because another table had a a La carte order of egg rolls but lunch plates were told they were waiting on the order to come in. I think they need to clear out Rangoon's. Best hot and sour soup in san antonio. All the food here is great! My favorite is beef with mixed vegitables, steamed rice, and egg roll. My wife and I eat there at least once a week. During the pandemic, they went strictly takeout but stayed open to serve the community as best as they could. Now they are back to dine-in too. There is a giant sign that says place your order at the window, but dummies complain they arent greeted when seating themselves. it is often hard to find quality wait staff, but they do their best. The egg drop soup was very good. It had a nice consistently with egg swirled folded in along with green onions. The soup was very flavorful. The Rangoon was very good. The cream cheese mixture was excellent and savory. Lemon chicken was good and tasty. The portions are average size and the staff is warm and friendly. The restaurant decor is nice with Chinese wall paper, decorative and beautiful tables. I really appreciated the dishes. Yes, the dishes. It matters to me that I am eating on dishes and not a plastic plate. The dishes are a basic white with blue. I absolutely love that my hot Jasmin tea was served in a beautiful tea cup on a saucer. I have mixed reviews. I ordered the mongolian chicken. Wonton soup was delicious; fried rice and rangoon were good, too. My problem was that the "chicken" and vegetables were not edible. The chicken was rubbery and flavorless. No spiciness like Mongolian chicken should be. The vegetables looked sad and gray. Also, once we received our order, the waitress was never seen again. This is my favorite overall chinese restaurant in San Antonio. The seafood Pho (on the secret menu) is phenomenal; the chicken wings are savory, and the lunch menu is devine and inexpensive! They have the best wonton and sweet and sour soup too (free for military). My favorite meals so far are the Happy Family, Moo Goo Gaipan, Chicken with Vegetables and the Curry Chicken! Mmmmmmh! Also, Giovanni, Alexis, and Lauren are so sweet, professional, and attentive. I have had great experiences whether I dine in or carry out. We ordered beef & broccoli/egg drop soup & and egg roll dinner special for $9.50, orange chicken/fried rice and an egg roll, a kids sweet & sour chicken, and lastly lemon chicken w/fried rice and an egg roll. My lemon chicken didn't come with wonton soup, but I ordered a small bowl ($1.95) anyways-to me wonton let's me know if a place is going to be good. It took a bit for the food to come, but it was definitely worth the wait. The soups were perfect, the rice was great. The beef was seared then added to the sauce for the beef and broccoli-so it was delish. I even ordered a large bowl of wonton soup to go for my lunch today.
