First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the dinosaurs and big items they build the little holes around. It's very kid friendly but beware, some are challenging holes :( Staff - friendly and helpful~ There are 2 different sides of the place, 24 holes in the back and I think probably shorter courses in the front. The 23 holes were almost 1 hr but we had 3 people and one of the holes with the octopus took up most of my time. Like everyone says, there are only 23 holes, with the 24th hole being inside. It's super fun to drop the ball into the slot machine and push the button! Good things to know- - It is shady there so no worries about being in the sun too long. -The lobby of the place has an arcade, vending machines and a restroom. - Parking is good and abundant. Cute little place! We're staying next door at a hotel and needed to kill a few hours so we walked over to take a look. This is a really cute little mini golf. They have three different courses to choose from and all look like a really good time. We decided to check out the 28 hole course. This one was a lot of fun for the two of us... and the price was really good too. We only paid $28 for two people. The place is taken care of and you can tell they put a lot of work into the different holes. Nothing over the top just a cute little... fun place to take the family if you're looking to kill time or have a family day. read more

Just a fun place. A little overpriced, but I loved all the characters (dinosaurs, genie, dragons, etc.) guarding the holes. One hole was a little too difficult, and some greens could be replaced, but no major complaints. read more

We took our kids here about 2 weeks ago and they had so much fun. They were definitely following Covid rules and wiping down the putters and balls. They have a pretty large layout, so it's easy to social distance. Next time we will be trying the dinosaur themed course! read more

I really love going here. The props / golf course holes are absolutely amazing! It's so much fun and it's very well kept and clean. It's located across from Dutch so it's super convenient to pop on over after grabbing a drink and having a fun time with friends! The hole with the mini cake castle is my absolute favorite. It's fun whether you're 5 or 50. Plus the prices are great!! UPDATE: We stopped by for one of the last times available, and decided to play the back. The back was so cool, and a lot more fun than the front! The props and water features are super cool. Just be careful, if you're dumb like me you can end up losing a ball in the bush . But the employee working that night, (a young red headed girl) was super helpful and nice, and got us on the course super fast despite being decently busy/ We ended up finishing the last hole 5 minutes after closing, because we weren't keeping track of time good enough and she didn't even mention it! We apologized and she was so sweet and nice! This course is so much fun and we still have a 9 to do! Can't wait to come back read more

It's been about a decade since I've here, and it was quite the pleasant surprise to come back for a nice date. The place still has the cheesy courses but everything is well maintained and clean. The entrance has a bunch of old arcade games and a snack bar that offers DOLE WHIP!!!!! Honestly, that was probably the best part of this place, I don't have to go to Disneyland to have this delicious summer treat. The bathrooms seemed to be newly remodeled, they were clean and bright. The courses are divided into 3, you pay for the options you want and proceed to play mini golf. Each course has different animatronics and fun stuff, we did the 3rd course with 28 holes towards the very back end, we had a great time and we weren't rushed as there wasn't much of a crowd when we got there. I would definitely come back and do the other courses and of course have some more of their dole whip! read more

This is a really good place to go to if your looking to kill some time for really cheep it's like 10-30 dollars and you will spend a good amount of time here it's fun for all ages the employees are nice and happy to help if you forget drinks at home they sell them here and they sell them at a good price like .75-1.25 dollars per drink considering that if you buy a drink anywhere else other then a supermarket your looking at 3 dollars the golf course is shaded by trees and the holes aren't labeled so it's kind of hard to figure out what hole you are at but there's usually an employee that walks around and can help you out with over all I do recommend coming here. read more

Let the Putt-Putt challenge begin - LOL!! Magical comes to mind every time I come here and why you may ask yourself because it reminds me of being a kid going with my grandfather to practice my putting and I have fond memories of the time I spent with him (not to this particular mini golf place but one in CA) and of course going with my 3 sisters and parents to have the ultimate showdown of who would be the crowned the winner of the Putt Putt Challenge for the evening out with the family at Scandia in Sacramento or with friends just to get out of the house to horse-around and flirt and talk about boys (you know I am bringing up memories for all you). Now it's all about who gets bragging rights in our home until the next time we come out and let me share it's pretty serious fun when my hubby and I come out among the dinosaurs, stony head, fishes, octopus and watermills with the many challenging holes as we egg each other on to see who will be crowned the Winner!! This is soooo much FUN, there are 3 courses to choose, from so plenty of challenges to have bragging rights and the 19th and 28th holes are actually a slot machine that you drop your ball in for a chance to win a FREE ROUND - now that's AWESOME! The lobby area does look a little dated when you walk in but from what I have seen it looks like they have some arcade games for you to play, typical pinball and whatnot (I haven't played any of them so not quite sure what they have but have seen some kids playing and they look like they are enjoying themselves) just nothing overly new and there is a couple of vending machines with your typical snacks, sodas and H20 that you can take out to the courses and the public restrooms are clean and seem to be a bit more updated then the lobby area. There are picnic tables out as soon as you walk out of the main lobby area for you to sit in a shaded area if you just want to have your kids enjoy the arcade or miniature golf or come to have a special party or birthday party. They even have seated areas throughout the miniature golf courses for you to rest or let others play through for those that would like to take their time to enjoy the plenty of large beautiful trees for those warm summer months to still be able to come out for enjoying a round of miniature golf. The young staff is always friendly and helpful inside but we don't seem to notice anyone out and around on the courses. Well, other than an older man one time that had a leaf blower while were playing a round, he was blowing leaves off of the greens but we just went about our challenge - we had a serious bragging rights at stake LOL In any case, we always have a GREAT time and to date my hubby has managed a hole in one at the two-head dinosaur and I can't believe I am admitting this but it was pretty cool to watch and YES, he beat me that night so back to the Putt-Putt challenge we shall go because he can't have bragging rights forever!! Always a good time! Bathrooms are very clean. Courses are well kept. Enjoyed both Reno and North Lake Tahoe locations many times.

This has been and always will be my favorite mini golf place. I have been coming here since I was a little kid and have never been let down. There are 3 different courses and tonight we did the 28 hole one in the back which surprisingly I had never done before! Each hole is so different and unique. you can tell they also just redid the whole place. The greens are nice & new looking, the statues and decor is all painted new and well taken care of and the building inside is redone as well. The girls behind the desk and always nice ! I love love love coming here for mini golf ‍ it's perfect for any one of any age!! read more

The first course was closed but they still had the second course if you wanted to play the short course. We actually drove by it not seeing the sign, made a u turn and we were there. For playing at noon in 90 degree weather, I appreciated that their courses were tree shades. Though it was compact, each hole made you work for that par and since I haven't played miniature golf in awhile you can guess what my score was, lol. read more

I want to give this place a better review. My son and I came to the course cause he really wanted to play some mini golf and he wasn't disappointed. He had a blast. The holes were unique and not too challenging. It was a Saturday mid morning so not many people on the 28-hole course. Now, here's the bad. The courses are next to each other so if a group is loud your going to hear it. Another group was in the middle course and were drunk. I've never been to a mini golf course that advertises as family friendly that allows alcohol on the course. It wasn't just a drink or two but this group was carrying a cooler from hole to hole. I can handle to drinking but the cursing coming from the group was obnoxious and very inappropriate. I was able to catch eyes with the group a couple times that prompted them to tone it down. They didn't. The manager did us right by giving us a free round but commented that it was another person who scheduled the group which leads me to believe this is allowed. I can't come back here with my kids for the fear that another group will be sharing the course with alcohol and bulgur language. I can't risk exposing my kids who are all in elementary school to this possibility. It's hard enough raising kids while trying to teach them about the use of vulgar language and alcohol. Sorry carpet golf. I did try but I just can't chance it that this won't happen again. read more

I have lived in Reno/Sparks my entire life and am a little disappointed that I just found out what the giant stone head belonged to, you can see it every time you are driving down 395. The size of Magic Carpet Golf is extremely deceiving, but in a good way. It looks like a really small place from the street. Once inside you see just how much fun and putting adventure can be packed into this property. There is 3 different courses that you can choose from to play. The lady behind the desk told me that there would the least amount of people on the back course and it features 28 holes! I was pretty sold. She did give me a fair warning thought that the back course was under construction and some of the features where not there (water mostly). I do not regret choosing the back course but I think that they should discount it a little due to remodeling. The coarse was as fun to play as it was to look at. There is no real theme to the entire course, every hole is a complete surprise as to what it will be. You could end up shooting between octopus tentacles or riding the curves of the tequila worm. The holes were each interesting and exiting in their own little ways. Magic Carpet is really a different experience compared to your typical miniature golf. My group and I had a lot of fun playing golf at magic carpet. I cant wait to try the other two courses. Most of all though I am excited for the final product after the remodel is done. Definitely a fan of Magic Carpet. read more

We had a birthday party here with a party of 15. They had great tables to set your cake, presents and food. We did have to buy drinks from inside vending machine which got kinda spendy. We bought some on our way to golf and again when we sat down. The golfing was fun. We did 28 holes but upon reflection should have done 19 as that was a lot for kids the ages we had. read more

I've been going to this place since I was a kid, and while they have done some updates, it has the great nostalgic feel. They even have classic arcade games on site which is rarity indeed! All the course of creative, challenging and very fun to play. Some look to be undergoing maintenance, but considering some of these have been here for over 20 years I can't fault them for showing their age in some places. On average it takes about 1hr to play through a course (longer or shorter based on the people in your group). I do love the two course deals since you get more play for you dollar with having to pay too much or feeling like it's over kill. There is lots of seating in the course area, inside and outside if you need to rest or just enjoy yourself. I like all the snack machines so you can have a small nibble while playing. I haven't had any of their pizza in the place, so I can't comment too much on that. Overall if you are looking for a fun quirky date night this is a lot of fun, especially in the evening hours. Alternatively, if you have kids this place will be great for birthday parties or family outing. read more

I recently visited Magic Carpet Golf (twice) to introduce the kiddos to mini golf. What a ride on the nostalgia train! Having been to MCG many times as a child, it was very cool being able to share it with my youngsters. MCG has been maintained far better than its age would suggest. While the video games inside are dated, they are a fun supplement to the main draw. During my recent visits I played on the two front-most courses which feature many holes which I distinctly remember from many years ago. The courses offer a good variety of challenges and fun themes. I'm glad to see this establishment survive the test of time, especially since some deep-pocketed competition has moved into the area since I was a lad. I try to spend my dollars at small, local businesses when possible and practical. Looks like I'll be spending more here. read more

Not impressed. When you walk in the smell of paint is overwhelming! The water in the pond area smells aweful and the place doesn't seems very kept up. There is a ton of debris from various fixer upper things around the property. We parked in the back because there was no parking in front, that was a surprise. We felt like we were driving into the back of someone's home that had a bunch of junk everywhere. Not my favorite.... we won't be back. read more

This is a old school mini golf place with a classic arcade to match. There are newer shiny mini golf places, but this one has my heart. I love the big cement sculptures that are incorporated into the course, a lot of fun for little ones to explore and gawk at. The course is well maintained and clean. The water features were drained when we went, but it was late fall. $8 per person, and my little got to play for free with his own plastic putter. At the end you drop off your ball into a slot machine to spin for a prize. We got a free round for future play! read more

Wow, really? $11 for a round of mini golf? And for your $11 you get broken down courses that are in dire need of maintenance, a bare bones arcade that doesn't even have a snack bar and more restrictions on behavior then the heavily regulated casinos down the road. It's not to say that I didn't have fun with my friends, just that this is a sorry excuse for a mini-golf course. We chose the "castle" course, where the faded and bizarre statuettes that represent the theme are, for the most part, malfunctioning or absent. One hole had a mechanical apparatus that clearly used to be a working decoration, but is now just a rusted and odd edition to the course. The course has a ton of restrictions- open container = $500 fine, no more than 4 in a group, no more than 6 swings per hole per player, golf holes in order (even if a group of small children is taking over 20 minutes ahead or you), no swinging above your knees, no food on the course, no cursing, no non-golfers on the course, no, no, NO. Some of these I'll grant are common sense, but cumulatively they make you feel like you're under surveillance. Skip it and go bowling!!! read more

Came here to eat at Georgio's Pizza which is attached to the arcade and miniature golf of Magic Carpet. I had my kids with me and the arcade shut down by 5:45pm on a Friday night which seemed a bit early to me, but okay that's their business hours. While we were ordering pizza my kids were sitting and pretend playing on some of the racing games which had been powered down. The woman who owned magic carpet came out and yelled at the kids "You need to get off of those machines! And if a machine is shut off it means you can't play on it!" Needless to say she was rebuked properly, and also that we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Had my daughters birthday here. The folks who run this putt putt are great at what they do. The courses are in good shape, for how long this has been around. The arcade has some problems but hey, we are here for mini golf, not candy machines. We reserved the party area, they had it all set up when we showed up. Been coming here since i was a kid. We used to like to come here when we were teenagers also and goof around happy gilmore style. Happy to report its the same great place it was. Hubby and i took the kids earlier today and had a blast, it was hot outside but luckily there is a good amount of shade throughout the course. Some of the holes have changed, which is cool wouldnt want EVERYTHING the same. They have been maintaining it quite nicely and like i said updated some holes. Overall a great place for family fun. We always drop a couple coins in the mini arcade area they have when we are here. Best of all last hole is a slot machine for a chance at a free golf game! My daughter won that today and was thrilled! Have been a couple times since moving back to reno and will definitely be back again ! read more

The course wasn't super maintained but not totally run down. The desk staff wasn't all that friendly but they did assure me that they didn't allow smoking. Boy, was that not true! Even after I mentioned it when we were finished, they just shrugged. The course was fun, although it wasn't nearly as fun as Wild Island. This place is soooo much fun!! We did both courses (third one was closed for renovations :( but still looked cool!) the day was beautiful and weather was perfect! Some of the holes are like... My husband and I decided we needed a rematch of mini golf because he couldn't stand that I won last time golfing at a different location. So we chose Magic Carpet. They have a few different courses with 36, 28, and 18 holes. We chose the 28. For 2 adults it was roughly $20, we brought wyatt with us and they offer a plastic hockey-like club to play with which is free if that's what you choose. If he were to use the regular club he would have been the same price as us. I thought that was silly but ok. We chose the plastic one. I would say about 85% of the regular putters were a little tore up; the rubber on the bottom was peeling off and severly cracked. Most of the holes are extremely uneven and I'm not talking intentionally uneven to give you a challenge, it's like the course is warped from the years of mini golf which it made it extra difficult. I really think if they tried up upgrade, paint, and re-carpet the course it would drastically improve the experience of the customer. After this experience I still prefer wild island. Maybe they will update someday and we will try again. read more

Absolutely filthy. Multiple golfing holes and houses were infested with insects, what appeared to be the small flying roaches. They were coming up from the ground and fixtures everywhere. All of the flower bushes were dead and all of other shrubs and bushes were covered in spider webs. My family has been going here for years and every year it seems a little worse than the year before. You have to remember, this course has been around since the beginning of time. I am 45 and remember going to Magic Carpet when I was in like 6th grade.
