It is what it is....great price and on golf now I got it for $30...so $30 for a nice walk in Reno and got to swing a club 85 times :-). Service at pro shop and bar was very good. Course has good bones, just old bones and old skin....got paired up two guys in the front and they had to leave after 9 holes and the two guys behind me joined me on hole 10. All were very good players. And good guys. At this price, one can't complain. I might play it again when I'm in the area. read more

I have never played golf here so I cannot leave a review for that, but I recently attended a wedding reception here and was thoroughly impressed! Coming in I noticed there was only one bartender, although the wedding must have had 75+ guests and that made me pretty nervous - as we all know that weddings have a lot of drinking. But I gotta say, the bartender on shift, Anthony, was freaking slinging those drinks out with not an ounce of stress. He was so fast, friendly, polite, and made great drinks! There was hardly a wait outside of the first big push when we arrived. It was nuts! The venue was clean, the food was BOMB. Best Mac and cheese I've had. The venue is spacious and very beautiful. I'm sure the couple got many great photos! The manager on duty - Andrew - so nice!! We brought our 13 month old baby with us (he was the ring bearer so obviously had to come party) and by 8 pm he was toast but we wanted to keep having fun. I asked Andrew if there was anywhere in the venue I could safely pop up our pack and play and let our guy sleep, and to my surprise he did find us a small closet off to the side. Our baby slept for the next 2 hours until it was time to go and it was so nice being able to enjoy the rest of the party. Shout out Andrew for going above and beyond for us! read more

I grew up learning to play here. Thousands of good memories. But the management is all power tripping weirdos who always make me walk the course when they have tons of carts just sitting around. This isn't a private course. Or a nice course for that matter. It's a public course that is completely run down. They have a good old boy system where some people can take carts and drive into the course with their trucks and it's all good. I believe all of this goes against the contracts they signed and I will be calling and emailing city commissioners. Let people pay for carts when you have them, it's not that hard read more

Honestly, this Golf Course scared me a little bit because I read the yelp reviews and everyone had negative things to say but we went for a quick golf game and it was really fun. The fairways were reasonable for the price that you pay. It was only $30 for nine holes, including a cart, which is way better than back home. Went to hit a bucket of balls today to get some practice and went to the ball machine and guess what..empty....AGAIN!! When they called and told them they needed balls, they didn't seem to be that in a hurry to fill up the machine..you are lucky I was "just a female" and not my husband and his buddies, they would have raise hell. Nice muni course, pace of play on a Sunday morning (7:40am) seemed to be on time. We had a twosome in from of us (walking) and they kept up with the 5-some ahead of them. Open fairways, some of the fairways seemed a bit over-watered but all in all course looked in decent condition. Price was average for this kinda course. I rented clubs to play with and played an entire 18 holes with them. They were noticeably worn down as most rental clubs are at muni courses but I didn't think anything of it. When returning the clubs at the clubhouse the driver head fell off very easily as I was putting on the head cover. I immediately told the pro shop and they proceeded to charge me an additional $50 for breaking their already damaged driver. They gave me the runaround and kept saying how I damaged it entirely and that it was a brand new club. I feel very insulted. Will never come here ever again unless they do the right thing and refund me. read more

Thirteen of us played here yesterday. We purchased Golf Moose vouchers. Two players $60 including golf cart. Gas. They allowed us to play five ladies in one group. Thanks. The front nine was flat and wide other than hole 1 which was downhill. The back nine was more narrow and up and down. Lots of dirt. For the price can't really complain. read more

No one answers the phone. Called for a tee time and got put on hold for over 5 minutes then got disconnected. Called back got put on hold again... no one came back. Tried to call food and beverage at least to talk to someone, put on hold never came back. If they can't answer a phone what are they doing there? Low staffed? Washoe is a nice place to play for a fair price. Everything about this place shows its age. The bar is straight out of the 70's. The clients too. The Club House is no fancier. The restrooms may have not been cleaned since the 70's. (smell) Ok, so a golf course is about the grass, tees, fairways, greens... In that matter this place is just fine. Most of the course is kept well and is darn playable. I think the fairways look wider than they are. Look for specials on greens fees. Public golf course near Lakeside. We decided to go to the driving range for a day date. We paid less than $15 for a bucket of 90 balls. It was a short walk from the shop to the range. There's a decent line of places to tee up on- not all the mars are up to date though and some are missing the rubber tee. All in all- good spot and great value. read more

Went to play disc golf $10 a player I don't mind that part but they said they wouldn't rent me a cart they were all booked as the carts sat thier empty for 4 and half hrs then went to get a drink at one of their many fountains they were all off they were over watering the grass were they were making mud and they had no signs or directions to guide u to next tee have to use udisc app which stopped working at number 10 they next pad was far away like a lot of em not very convenient read more

We got a great deal for this course via golf moose. While the conditions were bearable I think it was worth the money for a muni course. Some of the fairways were in fairly decent shape so I can't complain. read more

Good Muni track. Greens are almost always great. Bunkers are what you would expect for the price. The big issue is a complete lack of Marshalling and the starter is down in the pro shop with no line of site to the 1st and 10th tees. There are people who just hop into a cart and jump on the course right in front of you and get away with it day after day because there is no one to boot them off the course. Expect weekend rounds to sometimes take up to 6 hours due to this, and other issues related to starting, hop/sneak ons and overall just a lack of organization or authority. It's also a hybrid disc golf course, so you will have to sometimes wait on shots while they do their thing. read more

We went to the Shoe to have a prime rib dinner reminiscent of the Liberty Belle complete with spinach salad. It was so delicious. I had forgotten that depth of meaty beefy flavor that they were able to impart into the bark of the prime rib at the Liberty Belle. They do the dinner every two weeks on Wednesday's in the winter and it is a do not miss at $35 including wine. read more

I always enjoy playing Washoe Golf Course even when I don't play well. It is the oldest public course in the county so you won't find the larger greens which we see in the more modern courses. This makes for a lot of challenging holes but that is part of the game. Darin and staff are always very helpful and do their best to get you on the course. There is also a driving range, putting green and chipping area. They also have a restaurant and bar. The course is located within the city limits and it's easy to get to so if you're looking for a fun course to play for a reasonable rate I would suggest Washoe golf course. read more

What I love about this course is that you get to play a really fun round of golf for a great rate and they let you go around as many times as you like with NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. This course was not of my choosing, but I am SO glad that I went! It was hot, a tad windy. The surroundings themselves are definitely indicative of desert. We were in Sparks and Reno visitng family. This is a course that my Spouse knows WELL. We thoroughly enjoyed our round! There is nothing SPECTACULAR by standards of Nor Cal courses that we are used to, but it got the job done. Washoe gets the job done. The greens are decent, the course is fun and the prices are great! There is ample parking at this muni course. The restaurant gets the job done if you're hungry-- they have run of the mill American food. The driving range is around 300 yards, which is nice; however, they have mats which of which I'm personally not a huge fan. Why because they jar my arms. I played a round of golf today at Washoe. The fairways and greens were in good shape but some bunkers had standing water in it and the cart paths were terrible, full of pot holes. There could also be more signs to indicate the location of the next hole too. But I was able to get a groupon for $29 with cart, a good bargain. read more

After deciding to go ahead and play 9 holes with a friend, not only did Jared fit us in without any notice he also lent me his own ball cap. Today was hot, sunny and windy. Played this course for the first time. I really liked it. The fairways where great, greens well manicured. The staff where all super nice to deal with. The guy in the bar was really nice (makes a mean Bloody Mary)! My only complaint and this is why they are 3 stars. The Marshal was rude as f$&@. He kept pushing us. Telling us there were 2 open holes in front of us. No one was waiting behind us. That was very off putting to me. He basically ruined the back 9 for me. We had some beginners in our group. We where a little slow but again no one was waiting. Good news is the Bloody Mary's made being stocked down and told to hurry a little better. read more

I was in the area this past weekend, and was looking for a decent course in the area. So I jumped on Yelp and found Washoe County. Overall this is a decent track with good green fee's. Listed below are few pro's/con's: Pro's: -$$$$-Decent price to play- We jumped on at 11:00am for $35 with cart. Not a bad deal. Golf now will be adding this course to its menu -Small, challenging greens-The course is filled with a variety of elevated greens and tough pin placements -Long fairways- The course contains a few 425-450+ par 4 holes. -Challenging layout- Aside from the 1st, 10th,& 14th holes the course is relatively flat, but there are several holes on the back 9 that will challenge you Con's: -Fairways-long and extremely wide, but on some holes the fairways that either had a bunch of dry, dead grass or were over watered. Some fairways could also use a good mow -Greens- the greens were nice, but there were a good number of ones that were beat up. There were some greens that had small patches of new sod. -This course has a lot of potential but the overall condition of the course is what decreases its value Overall experience at this course was good. This course has alot of potential and is suitable for all golfers at all levels. As much as I want to give the local golf course a 5-star review, it makes it difficult when they charge nearly as much as the nicer quality courses and don't seem to offer any great deals for Reno/Sparks locals. They do have deals and sometimes they are good, but more times than not, I will pay a little more for a lot higher quality. Around September they have peak rates above $40 and regular rates around $30 per 18-holes with a cart. Throwing in a deal after 3 on a weekday for locals for $10 would be a nice deal for example. They would make money off the booze sales for sure. I have played this course many, many times over the years and depending on the time of year, the course is typically standard in condition and quality. There are lots of dead, dry, and dirt spots you will experience throughout your round. read more

The layout of the course is wonderful, one of the more underrated course designs in Northern Nevada/California. While the front nine is fairly wide open, the greens are very challenging: they run true and they are "built up" out of the ground (think upside-down salad bowl), making them harder to hold. The biggest drawback is the course condition. For such a wonderful layout, the course is often in terrible shape, even early in the season. Some areas of a fairway might be soaking while others are dry and dead 30 yards away. I know it's a public course and they don't have much of a budget for groundskeeping, but every time I play here I can't help but wonder if a careful groundsman and a few sprinkler adjustments might not transform a decent course into a great one. read more
