We had an email confirmation for a two night stay. Checked in and we're again confirmed for a two night stay along with provided a parking pass for a two night stay. After one night of our stay we were out and received an email at 5 pm stating we were to have checked out that earlier day and since we hadn't they put all of our things into bags and it could be picked up at the front desk. We immediately called and were told the same thing, we explained that our confirmation had two nights and they said that's not what their system says and to come back to the hotel. Ten minutes later, it was the same deal. Courtyard said they were full and had no rooms for us. Because of this issue we missed out on the holiday evening plans we had and lost money on a deposit for our dinner reservation. Still working with this hotel location and Corporate for Courtyard trying to get compensation without success. That's no way to do business for $220 a night. So much for the Marriott Bonvoy membership. Reservation was through booking.com who also won't credit us back because every time Booking calls the hotel, Courtyard tells them there was no disruption noted on their end. No bueno. Recently stayed at this hotel for three nights. Overall, it was a great experience. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was perfect as was the temperature of the water after I adjusted it. The walls were thick so I could not hear the occupants next door, which is a common issue I have encountered during stays at other hotels. My only complaint about the room itself was that I discovered a creepy looking spider on the curtains on the very first night - it really freaked me out. The highlight of my stay was the breakfast i had at the restaurant on the first floor. I believe it was called the Bistro. Anyway, I had scrambled eggs, sausages, and sourdough toast. The sausages were particularly good. They were juicy and had a nice sear to them. The front office staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. There was just one thing that fell below my expectations and it came at the end of my stay. When I checked out, they did not give me a hotel receipt. The woman at the front desk told me that the receipt would be emailed to me. Later in the day, I called the hotel since I had not received my receipt. The hotel employee advised me that I would receive it in 24-48 hours. Well, after 48 hours, I still didn't have my receipt so I had to call again to get it. Shouldn't be this complicated to send me a receipt. read more

I stayed at this Courtyard by Marriott for a night before flying out of Reno. It was an excellent stay! It was the end of the holidays so the hotel was not packed and was really quiet. I had a room on the third floor with a king bed. The room was spacious and modern. The bed was really comfortable. The sink was outside of the bathroom. The shower was clean and had good water pressure. They gave me a voucher for breakfast at their bistro. I had the eggs-your-way plate and it was delicious! The cheesy scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes and bacon were crispy. I loved it! One little negative is that it's located right by the highway so try to ask for a room facing the shopping center, otherwise you will hear the cars. It was really windy at night so I heard the wind more. It's also located in a strip mall and near the airport. There is a good bakery (Perenn at Rancharrah) nearby! EV chargers located behind the hotel. read more

Not exactly sure why they gave me this room that faces the freeway, so restful sleep is out of the question here. For reference it's the rooms with the even ending digits. The hotel/lobby/gym are all very clean but the rooms are a bit run down, it's just a hotel to stay and get your business accomplished. The Gym and business areas are the best here and if those things are important to you, then this is your spot. The hotel is also located near a lot of services and places to eat. Overall not a bad spot to conduct business but as far as vacation destinations go, this is not it. At least for me it doesn't appear to be a place to come and relax. read more

This would be a five-star review we're at not for their failure to do housekeeping. The room was comfortable. After I reported the air conditioning out of service they fixed it promptly. And most of all, they had free electric car charging. Unfortunately there were only a few EV charging stations, but it was better than nothing. And parking is free. It seems inconceivable to me that a large corporation, like Marriot, does not have a process in place to refund for overcharging on a bill. I find it hard to believe that if they've overcharged someone on a room, there's not a way to immediately refund a guest the overcharge of the disputed difference. As a local nonprofit, we are exempt from paying sales tax, and the Marriott charged us sales tax for an event we recently hosted there. Their only offer of service recovery was not a full refund, but a credit toward a night's stay or a credit to another event we might hold there. At this point, I'm not sure we would ever hold another event there based on their policy or need credit for staying a night. As a smaller nonprofit, the money we raise and spend it's not taken lightly. An offer that does not fully refund the money we paid in taxes, is neither acceptable, nor satisfactory customer service. read more

The staff here is super nice and accommodating, from the front desk to the bar/bistro staff. The gym is really nice, and the outdoor courtyard area is shady and pleasant. The water pressure in the room wasn't great, but I like the little shelf in the shower for personal items and the small bench. The room needs a microwave and the fridge is super small and kind of weird, no freezer, but the bed is comfortable. You can stream Netflix on the TV. The vibe is chill and the parking is right outside the door, no garage, so very easy and it's close to shops and restaurants. The wall ac unit is a little loud and drafty, but the room is very clean. Stayed at this location during a business trip. The location is great, staff is excellent, and a convenient bistro in the lobby. Lots of parking available. A short walk across the parking lot gets you to Starbucks. If you are noise, sensitive, did not get a room facing the freeway and know that you may hear neighboring doors slamming shut. The bed was a little lumpy and carpet could use some refreshing - which was disappointing because I know Marriott can do better. read more

Overall the hotel was not bad, but there was some questionable things about the place. The location is very bizarre in that you have to go through a shopping centers parking lot, so it's kind of hiding in the very back away from the road which makes it hard to get to. Also a pool was advertised when booking but when we got there it seemed they either were lying or got rid of it at some point because I looked all over for one to no avail, which was upsetting considering it was advertised. The staff was friendly and the room was clean so I can't complain too much but some things could be better. read more

I enjoyed my stay here during a recent business trip. The area felt safe and short walking distance to Starbucks! My room was clean and well kept, the lobby area was my favorite, felt cozy with plenty of seating, booths to work in with personal TVs and plugs and a fireplace! Had a colleague staying at a different hotel down the street & we decided to get some work done in the lobby & she loved the lobby area as well! Gym was large and had a lot of equipment, my only complaint would be the music in the gym was so LOUD! I couldn't turn it down nor could I hear my own music through my AirPods. I had booked a King with a balcony on the Marriott app but it was not available at my late check in. The room was $116 a night with $15 tax and free parking. Very reasonable. Everything worked (drains, tv, fridge, phone, alarm- all major factors in my review). The room was quiet and had a good desk/office area, fridge. The balcony was the best-because it expanded the view, provided fresh air, and bumped up the room space. The traffic noise from 395 was definitely noticeable when the screen door was open but a small price to pay. Marriotts seem to have soundproofing and this hotel was no exception. Greatly appreciated when I have a demanding schedule. The bathroom had a nice walk in shower and the sink vanity closet area was useful and functional. My only complaint was the bed felt kinda old and lumpy, I think it was the same bed from 2010 (or at least felt like it). I had stayed in this hotel years ago (2010) and the recent renovation really stepped it up aesthetically and with better function. They have a small indoor pool which was very nice (didn't get a chance to use it) and whirlpool (closed for COVID). Unobtrusive and helpful staff. The hotel is a solid, serviceable, nice but not too fancy place to stay while staying in Reno. Near shopping and dining. The mini fridge kept my Whole Foods finds cool and the microwave was a nice bonus. Overall, highly recommend. read more

I'm a Bonvoy card member & booked a room for 1 night instead of the regular hotels I would stay at when I'm in Reno. Bonvoy gave me an option to check in early, so I picked 11am. When I arrived to the hotel, I was told my room wasn't ready & to come back later. Just so happens, my room was ready at 3pm! The normal check-in time. It's 10pm and the reason I'm not writing this review during breakfast, is because I can't sleep. The walls are so damn thin, I can hear the a woman give her social security number to whoever she's talking to. People are not playing in the halls or anything of that nature, you can just hear everything. I'm 8 rooms away for the vending machine & I can hear them getting a soda. I think I'll use my pts elsewhere next time. Good location for food or wine. read more

I booked a room with a sofa and a king size bed but I got something else. The stay was nice. Pretty quiet and the hotel lobby was really clean. I'm pretty sure the room with the sofa was a little pricier than what I got. Anyways under the bed was really dusty and there was trash. I accidentally spilled water on the sheets and requested sheet exchange and OMG there was blood on the the mattress where I was sleeping. EW! That's the only downside and also when I checked in it was like at 11pm one of the people who checked us in, the guy had an attitude. read more

Reno seems to be a town of extremes when it comes to hotels. They have some higher end expensive hotels at the casino resorts and some very cheap but questionable looking motels. This Mariott seemed to be the only one that sat squarely in the middle of these opposites. We arrived really late on a Friday night but was happy to see that there was staff there to greet us. We had originally booked a room with 2 queens but at check-in for some reason she tried to confirm a 1 king bed with us. We asked for it to be switched and a manager had to come over to correct it. Maybe we should have kept the king room because we were right next to the elevators. At first sight the room looked pretty nice. It was modern with a huge flat screen, a smart desk design that saved space but pulled out if you needed more even more desk space. The bathroom had the sink outside of the room with the toilet and the shower which is always nice when you're sharing a room. They had shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in larger pump bottles that were affixed to the shower door. There was a coffee maker and a mini fridge disguised as a cabinet as well. After settling in there were a few issues. While I was sitting on the bed I kept smelling stale coffee. I went over to inspect the coffee machine and did see some coffee stains on the desk. The coffee machine didn't look very dirty so I'm not sure if there were hidden spills somewhere else. There were also some stains on the duvet on closer inspection as well. One thing that we were missing from the room was body lotion. I had to go down to ask for that on a separate occasion the next day. The lobby of the hotel is actually pretty nice. There are a lot of tables in front of the Starbucks there and there is usually water there as well. They also have couches in front of a fire place and these comfy pods with their on TV that you can work in. I spent some time here and the wifi worked well. This review is probably closer to a 3.5. It was at a good price point, not sketchy, and did have free parking which was nice. There were some issues with the room but maybe that was a one off with the specific room that we got. read more

I would give less than 1 star if possible. We are DONE with Marriott because of THIS particular hotel. We booked a room in May and because our son is ill we had to cancel it 1 month later. Small print nonsense and we are going to be out $569. That is RIDICULOUS. They clearly have zero concern for the consumer. We aren't the Rockefellers! So, we had another Marriott stay planned next week and we cancelled it. We're done. read more

My two teenage daughters and husband and I stayed here the night before our tour of the University of Nevada Reno. We were so impressed with this hotel and the friendliest staff. The rooms so clean and fresh. I ordered some Mac n' Cheese from the Bistro and it was the best Mac n' Cheese I have ever had! Each time we had a request or a need of the staff - they went out of their way to take care of us. And they had so many great options for snacks, fruits and frozen meals. The decor in the lobby is gorgeous and modern. The parking lot is very convenient and love that it is covered. I had really no expectations and left so fired up on this place! Have told everyone in my family who stays in Reno that this is the place! Very well run! read more

This hotel is back behind a retail shopping area, I put the address in the GPS and it kept saying I have arrived while I was driving down the street. I called for help and the front desk lady was no help, she wanted to confirm my reservation and then proceeded to give me the address after I already explained to her my situation. Then she put me in a room where the air conditioner clicked all night and when I called she said there was no maintenance and to just put the fan on. No customer service and I had a terrible night sleep. read more

Not sure how to do this review because I love Marriott and try and stay there every time we travel. We had a baseball tournament in Reno and I found this place and thought I'd give it a try. The hotel is clean which is great! The beds are super comfortable which I totally respect and love! The staff... well that's another story. They are not too friendly and not sure they care about the guests and their satisfaction. Do not book through the Marriott app as the rates will be completely different from what you'll pay at this location which is a huge bummer! So, double check your rates and make sure what they charge you matches your quoted rate. The area the hotel is located is not bad. The mini-golf next door was super fun. And, they are close to a lot of restaurants and the highway. Overall I was very disappointed with the staff at this location, they really need to learn how yo treat the guests better. I booked a two night stay and was told when I checked in that the room I was put in had wallpaper that needed to be re-done as it was recently hung but didn't look good. The gentleman checking me in said that I could change my room the next day if I wanted to. I explained that it wasn't a big deal to me and the room would be fine as is. He said that they discounted my room 50% each night because of the issue. I came to my room tonight (2nd and final night, checking out in the morning) and my room key didn't work. I was exhausted, needed to use the restroom and was carrying my work bag and dinner. I had to go back downstairs and explained to the female at the desk that my key didn't work. She looked in the computer and said "it's because we moved your room." I explained that I was fine not moving to another room and just wanted to stay in my room and go upstairs. She left to speak with a manager in a back office. She came back and was on the phone with someone appearing to try and keep me in the same room on the computer. She had nothing to say to me and was being very rude. She then said to the person on the phone "put hostile?" So I am guessing that she was referring to me as being hostile. She made a new key for me and set it on the counter and said "here's your key." No apology for the inconvenience. This entire process took over 10 minutes. She needs to learn customer service skills...along with the mystery manager she went to see in the back office. I won't be returning to this hotel. I usually stay at Hyatt Place (I travel to Reno every Month for work) but they were booked for the nights I needed to stay here this trip. Ugh horrible. read more

First thing is a negative...the hotel is set back off the street and if you are using GPS it is EASY to miss. Took me three tries! The property seems new - smell and not really any wear and tear. The staff is very friendly and will give you plenty of suggestions as to places to eat and the like. The rooms are clean and well appointed, however there are no drawers that I could find to put your clothes in. I took the additional bedding in the closet and put the bag on the floor and used the shelf. The showers have the shower products in refillable bottles in the shower. I like a bar of soap, so I'm not a real fan. The bigger issue is that they are installed about 5 inches to high. They are placed within the back part of the shower - that's fine, but they need to be a bit lower. I love Marriott properties, and especially Courtyard. Give it a try. read more

There's really nothing special about this hotel. It's a basic Marriott adjacent to a strip mall - all around average. The decor is standard. It has an on-site "bistro" (which is basically a paid food counter) instead of full breakfast. Rooms have refrigerators but no microwaves. Strangely if you ask about a microwave, then they will bring a microwave to your room for you to use. Odd that there isn't one in the lobby downstairs... On a positive note you can crack the window open which is nice for getting fresh air - something that you can't do in many hotels nowadays. read more

I have stayed here 3 times over the last several months. Each time no hot water on demand. You have run the shower for 5 minutes to get hot water. Incredible waste of water. Obviously they have turned off the recirculating system to try and save money. Complaints on 3 separate occasions over several months yield same response. Never heard of that before. This Marriott isn't as bad as others make it out to be. It's in a decent location with lots of places to eat, and it's inside a strip mall. It's also very conveniently located off a freeway exit and in a major street location. They have a fitness center that's open 24/7 and have a mini-pool and jacuzzi to relax in after a good workout. The beds here are comfy also. The pillows aren't bad. An added bonus is the presence of a mini fridge - I always love that. It's not a Springhill so they don't have coffee downstairs but they have it in the room and a quaint little bistro in the lobby sells breakfast items, pastries, and beverages (Starbucks coffee). What's good about this place though is that the staff are always greeting you and are nice. Good enough for me. read more

Worst experience in 15-year travel career. The drain was clogged in the shower and it was 10 p.m. after 10 hours of traveling, and we were completely tired and unpacked for a 3 day stay not a 1 hour stay. Called attendant but there were no other king bed rooms available. The attendant came to our room with no mask on. Called maintenance to fix problem and the attendant proceeds to ask us for a knife...really? I'm quite certain that 95% of occupants travel by air...and do not have a knife. Can't make that one up. Attendant comes up to the room with knife and a series of keys. She lifts drain up and proceeds to take balls of hair and who knows what other things, out of drain with her hands. Wipes down shower with our towel and proceeds to touch anything and everything in her site without washing her hands, and says "all good". Didn't spray down the shower, door handles, door knobs or anything she touched. We then spent OUR TIME cleaning everything with our travel alcohol wipes, for the next 2 hours until around midnight. Again, the property wasn't prepared for any emergency in the midst of COVID. We could hear the maintenance guy say he would be in at 7 a.m. first thing in a.m. to fix, as drain was still clogged. He either knew he would or wouldn't be in, but didn't get to the room until noon the next day, but I'm 100% certain that the property and maintenance guy put the attendant in a really bad spot. Why didn't the maintenance guy come out to fix that night is beyond me. 100% the properties fault for not having a contingency plan OR maintainance on demand...OR, they should have called a 24-hour plumber. Each hotel is a multi-million dollar operation and this hotel was too cheap to have a plumber on call? Even after the maintenance guy finally fixed it in the a.m. we had to wipe it down AGAIN with alcohol and disinfect it ourselves. Nobody there thought to clean our room. After a week of traveling, a no masked attendant in our room, a request for a knife, failed emergency maintenance, unsanitary conditions, (that may have jeopardized our health), travelers that had to wipe down their room twice, and no offer of another king bedroom for rest of trip. I would not recommend this place for any traveler let alone travelers like myself that stay in a 100+ rooms a year read more

This is our second time here and wow.....did they kick it up a notch! It's so beautiful when you first walk in. The lobby is decorated nice, with alot of amenities and pictures. Once we got off the elevator, the hallways actually smelled nice. Not a musty old carpet smell. The room was comfortable and inviting. Nice furniture,big TV with accent lights. Comfortable king size bed, modern shower that came with Tea Tree hair products. Real ceramic coffee cups and water glasses, not cheap plastic ones wrapped in plastic. Hotel is clean. Room is clean. However the wall separating the room is paper thin. I can hear my next door room talking and making so much noise. The housekeeping crew is very loud as well. I can hear them every morning. They became my timer to leave the hotel every morning. The quick print station is not working. The computer is slow. The staff is not very friendly. The hotel is going through major renovations. The front of the hotel is blocked up. You have to walk in through the side with no signage. They are rebranding and going for the contemporary Marriott look. Once I found the entrance of the hotel after walking into maintenance and engineering, I found my way to the front desk. As a frequent Marriott guest I have been st others under repair. If you could make the temporary entrance on the side a little more prominent, it would really help. The staff is very pleasant and kind and the rooms are okay, I just wish they would make the sign bigger. 1. Mold on the Shower Curtain. Asked the front desk to replace it. ...was told they would replace it immediately, so I went on with my day/evening exploring Reno. Returned to the room very late in the evening only to find the same moldy shower curtain. Asked again the next morning for a replacement and it was finally done. This simple request should not have ever required me to ask twice. 2. WiFi constantly disconnected. At first I attributed this to being on the top floor, but later I tried to connect in the lobby and found the same level of uselessness with the WiFi. Luckily my Verizon service would connect allowing me to get some work done... no thanks to Marriott. 2. Ripped/Torn Couch Cushion. Honestly, This didn't even bother me too much except that they didn't even try to conceal or hide the problem which would only have taken the effort of flipping the cushion over. 3. Inexplicable Interior Design by a random 10 year old. Someone decided a good place to hang "artwork" would be behind the TV despite there being ample wall space with no obstruction. Again...maybe not a big deal, but it reflects a general lack of basic effort on the part of the hotel to appear marginally comfortable and/or attractive to it's guests. read more

Not a good start to our stay. We arrived late this evening and when we walk into our room it's dark. The entry light doesn't work, so we use our cell phones to walk in and turn on floor lamp. We are about to turn in and while setting up the pull-out sofa, we find 2 crushed beer cans. Gross. Was the room cleaned thoroughly - were covid cleaning guidelines adhered to? It's 10:15 pm, we're tired and have an early start. I hope these are the worst issues we encounter while here. read more

Beware!! Fresh blood on multiple layers of bed sheets. I paid for an upgraded room with a balcony and after showing them the video of the dirty sheets they changed my room to a downgraded room with no balcony. They did not give me money back for giving me a cheaper room or for giving me a room that wasn't clean to begin with. read more
