First things first, The Sands needed a major remodel and change of identity. The Jacobs family has succeeded at that. The property now looks and feels upscale and much, much, much cleaner. The place is fresh. I guess when a casino owner buys up the virtually the entire corridor between their casinos they can also convert a city street to Valet Parking. 3rd Street was free parking and still close enough to walk to downtown events but is now reserved for casino use only. I have not see the remodeled rooms but I am guessing they are inline with the rest of the casino, So far I have only been to Hanna's table and it was early on. I am looking forward to trying J Paul's but not too sure about the mixed reviews on the buffet. A thanks to the Jacobs family for cleaning up downtown in a similar fashion to the Oliver McMillan proposal of 1998. Not every decision has been met with open arms, but growing comes with pains. Can't wait to see wait to see what comes next around the area anchored by the J Resort.

The rooms were a highlight they were very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Everything felt well kept, and it made it easy to relax and enjoy our time there. The location is key walkable to everything . The casino was fun, but I do wish they had more game tables open, especially since it was a Friday. It felt a little limited for a busy night, which was a bit of a downside. Aside from that, the overall experience was good. The hotel itself is nice, and the rooms definitely stood out the most. I'd stay here again and hope to see a little more activity in the casino next time

This used to be the old Sands Casino and Hotel but changed hands a few years ago and is now called J Resort after its owner. It's located about 1 block from Casino Row and The Eldorado. I understand it is going thru a remodeling that will expand its casino area. This review is only for my 2 night stay this week. Parking and check in was easy and friendly. My room on the 7th floor was very nice and comfortable. Waiting for an elevator was always less than 15 seconds. I have no complaints and feel lucky to have stayed here especially with my reasonable $ rate. There are 2 guest room towers. I would definitely recommend staying here. There are plenty of slot/video games in the casino but not many table games. I was told that the expansion will add more.

Horrible! I stay in King Tower 15/F. Unclean carpet. People's dead skin found. AC is super noisy like airplanes engine. Toilet still have poop mark. Toilet seat cover wobbling and shifting down into toilet hole. House keeping service upon request due to unforseen situation. Even I requested, they only come empty trash and provide new towels. Never stay in such bad hotel before. Never come again.

If you get a chance, definitely and I indefinitely try Hannah's restaurant at Jay's casino. Our waiter I believe his name was. Danny was very nice, very polite. Our food was served promptly and the portion size and quality were surprising and amazing. We had the artichoke spinach dip as an appetizer, and oh my goodness that right there would have been enough. It was brought to our table, piping hot and it not only had tortilla chips. It's also served with these twisted breadsticks that are full of cheese! So very yummy. We ended up splitting the fish and chips, which was more than enough for two people, and the fish was crispy and not greasy and I don't know how they make their tartar sauce, but it was yummy. It was also nice that I'm assuming he was the manager supervisor. Andrew was very friendly, attentive and dressed appropriately and was just a very very nice guy that took the time to invite us back. I do have a comped room there sometime in February that I am having difficulty in booking the room myself through their website, but when I do manage to do this, I will let you know how the hotel side of my offers go.

    Very nice and clean room

LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel. Room is clean. From the room service to the restaurant services, to the people who work in the gamble hall, all are very attentive and extremely friendly, so we dun mind to tip them great, which makes everyone happy during the trip!

Vincent, that guy that checked the us in was amazing.. thank you Vincent! Our room was so nice they have really updated the Resort. We changed and went to the pool. It's was outside just past the parking garage. Good size pool and clean. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! Would like to say the J Paul's Italian Steakhouse happy hour is really good! Thank you to our bartender Shane he was awesome hook the wife up with a John Daly! The lamb tacos were excellent!! Cheers

mandy harris 5/5 just now on Google We just stayed here, two quick work trips, in a row. Good Internet Nice, clean, spacious room Nice staff Great location Reasonable price Can't get a late check, even for a fee Refillable amenities Lots of Plugs near the desk!

Two beds and plenty of room.

I'm giving it 5 stars because I think its current 3 star rating is unreasonable. We had a good stay here, the room appeared to be recently remodeled, clean, and modern. The beds were comfortable with nice sheets, nice pillows, and pillow cases. Elevators worked well and the staff presented nicely. The store had all the essentials and the restaurants were decent.

I came in for a late check in and Donna at the front desk was absolutely amazing. Great conversation, very friendly and gave me all the information I needed to navigate the casino. Thank you Donna for being so helpful and personable! My room was very clean and I had an amazing view also! Highly recommend staying here!

Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

After nearly 10 months of planning, I expected the basics to be handled correctly. When we checked in, we were given a double room instead of the King room we reserved. I went back to the front desk and was told that because they were oversold for Thursday night, there was no way to move us into a King room at all during our stay. That explanation didn't make much sense--they confirmed they had King rooms available Tuesday and Wednesday, but because of the Thursday overbooking, they couldn't honor the reservation for any of the nights. So even though I booked months in advance and had already arrived, I was effectively bumped in favor of guests who hadn't even checked in yet. To make matters worse, only 2 out of 5 elevators were working the entire stay, which led to long waits (up to 20 minutes to get down in the morning) and added frustration. After the fact, I looked through other reviews and saw that this seems to be an ongoing issue, not a one-off situation. Between the reservation not being honored and the operational problems, it was a pretty disappointing experience overall. Skip this place.

This was my first time in Reno and my first time staying at the Silver Legacy, and overall, I had a…read morereally good experience. Check-in was smooth and easy, and we were lucky enough to get an upgraded room on the 21st floor. The room was clean, spacious, quiet, and the beds were VERY comfortable. Once you leave the casino floor and head up to your room, you really don't hear all the noise and activity downstairs, which I appreciated. The bathroom was clean, the water pressure was excellent, and we did have a refrigerator in the room, which was nice. My only real complaint is the lack of a microwave. There wasn't one in the room or even a shared one on the floor near the vending area, so if you had leftovers or late-night food, there really wasn't a way to heat anything up. That honestly led to wasted food, which was frustrating. The casino itself was lively and busy because the bowling championships were happening while we were there, so there were teams everywhere. Even though I'm not a huge gambler, I did try my luck a little bit. I didn't leave a millionaire... but I didn't arrive as one either, so we'll call it even! I did win a little money, but made the rookie mistake of giving it right back. Lesson learned: next time, win and WALK AWAY. There were lots of restaurant options inside the resort, plus places for coffee like Starbucks, SIP's, and Café Central. They also had a Topgolf Swing Suite, nightlife, and shows happening, so there was always something to do. One thing I really liked was that the resort is connected to Circus Circus, which made it even more fun. Inside the Circus Circus area, they had a huge midway-style setup with games, little performances, and attractions that honestly reminded me of a state fair or county fair. It was really cute and definitely family-friendly. If you have kids, there are absolutely things for them to do there too. Transportation to and from the airport was available, which made things super convenient. The rooftop outdoor pool and spa area was nice, but let me warn my fellow East Coasters -- Reno heat and elevation are NO joke. The sun hits differently there. We were outside maybe five minutes before our skin started turning red, so definitely pack sunscreen, hats, and prepare accordingly. We also explored outside the resort a bit and walked down near the Truckee River, which was beautiful. The area had restaurants, nice scenery, and made for some really great pictures. Reno itself is much more laid back than Vegas. It's slower paced, more relaxed, and honestly kind of peaceful. If you want the casino experience without the nonstop chaos of Las Vegas, Reno is definitely worth considering. Overall, I'd give Silver Legacy Resort Casino a solid 9/10 and would absolutely stay there again.

I can't speak to the rooms on the lower price range, but what I got, was absolutely amazing…read more I was here on Cinco de Mayo, but because it was a Tuesday, the rates were very reasonable. I have "status", so I was offered an upgrade to a spa suite, for a very reasonable price. The price range, of course depends on what day of the week it is, as well if there are any events going on, but even at full price, that spa suite is well worth the splurge. I was checked in by Claudia, and she was very friendly and helpful. My room was in the tower that is connected to the main casino. I was on the fifth floor. The view during the daytime wasn't much, but at night time and sunrise, it was very pretty. I walked into the room, and I couldn't believe it! I had actually gotten a two room suite it was a beautiful suite. The living room had 2 very comfortable couches. One of them had a hide-a- bed in it, or you could just sleep across the couch. it had a mini bar that had a Keurig on it, there were two TVs, with a good picture and lots of channels, as well as the movies for rent, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and there were also two bathrooms. The bathroom attached to the living room does not have a tub or shower. There was also a huge closet. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The bed was a bit firm for my personal taste, but I still got an OK nights sleep. I do realize that everybody's taste is different. I had to laugh when I saw the Jacuzzi tub. It was heart shaped. That tells me that this "spa suite" doubles as the honeymoon/romantic getaway suite. The Jacuzzi tub was amazing! It filled up quick, and it was so absolutely relaxing. My body was just melting away. I sat in that thing for almost a half hour, and when I got out, I went to sleep very quick. My only regret, is that I didn't have a special someone to share it with. (for those of you who have met me, I apologize for putting that image into your brain. Please, I beg of you, let it go... LET IT GO...... :) Circus Circus is a nice property, like the El Dorado and Silver Legacy, it is a Caesars property. The casino is nice, they have a midway with lots of fun games for the kids, and also live circus acts. There is plenty to do. You can walk between all three properties without ever going outside, and there is plenty of gaming, bars with different themes, and lots of restaurants throughout all three properties ...The food court is just OK. I didn't care for the habit burger place, but I thought that the pizza place was amazing. (see separate reviews.) Just a great stay. Thanks!

When we called to ask for help and even if our room was clean (because why would items be left behind if the room was clean?), the lady at guest services was surly and rude. We were told we would have to pack up and come move rooms and would be charged a difference in fee.
