Conveniently located in downtown Reno next to the famous arch sign. This hotel is non-smoking, pet friendly and no casino is perfect for visiting the Reno/Tahoe area. Hilton properties follow a high standard with clean rooms, pleasant staff and relaxing accommodations.

My second stay here. I immediately realized I just lost my diamond status and so the nice perks were gone. Had it for years and immediately no love from the hotel. No free parking (which is across the street, but only costs $7), nor executive lounge. Total bummer. I still made it work and used my F&B credit at the HH, which was great! I really like the 7x water filtration dispensers on every floor. It's nice to be able to refill your own bottle. Good thinking Tapestry.

Very nice hotel, for Reno, the restaurant at the lobby is great and it is nice, clean, reception personnel was great.

I had to come back and review the event staff and 3rd floor venue space. I held my daughter's 15th birthday here and it was perfect. I was able to customize a menu and everything turned out better than I expected. Allie and Carlie, very responsive and helpful and so was everyone else on the catering and service team. Big shout out to Christian, the head chef I believe. He made our antojitos dreams come true! The rooms also were very nice, love that this place is smoke free.

The stay was nice and very convenient. The hotel is located right downtown, which made it easy to get around and explore the area. The room was comfortable and clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The on-site restaurant was a plus the food was tasty, portions were generous, and it made dining really convenient.

Could have been a great stay. Hotel has a good location, updated, spacious rooms, and is mid price range. Parking is self or valet. We chose self as we didn't need in/out access. There is an executive lounge. I have no experience with it because the guy at check in said it was only open during happy hour for drinks. Not true. It's open in the morning too. There is an actual piece of paper that talks about it that I was never provided. So we wasted money on drinks in the restaurant when those in the lounge would have been complimentary. I have an annual lounge pass for Hilton. I have Diamond status with Hilton and couldn't believe how stingy this staff is with upgrades. This tier is supposed to receive an upgrade and there was availability in every category. Had to text and call and was told they only offer paid upgrades. Greedy and doesn't honor loyalty benefits. Not fun to beg for a "perk" that is given automatically by most other properties. Wouldn't stay here again based on uninformed, unfriendly staff and poor treatment of loyal members.

Whitney Peak is a good option for a non-casino hotel in Reno. The location is convenient (right next to the arch! and walking distance to the river). The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, the decor fits the theme, and the climbing gym is over-the-top unique. Hotel guests get a discounted rate to climb (but I don't think it comes with any gear or instruction). There are a few small things they could improve that would easily take them to a 5 star: -More intuitive temperature setting (my room didn't go much above 62 degrees which is pretty chilly) -Attention to detail in the furnishings (for example: the bedside lamps are outside of arm's reach, the chair was facing the dresser, the hallway decorative lights were different temperatures) I only stayed two nights. I did not have a car so I can't speak to parking. I did not bring my dog though they are pet-friendly. I felt safe in the neighborhood. I got breakfast at Cafe Whitney and enjoyed it (separate review to come).

    Thanks for the welcome

Super easy to get to and centrally located to most things downtown. I'm not sure if it's a plus or minus there was no gambling here but it was nice not having all the outside people that come with gambling so I guess it was a plus for the most part. Check in was easy and fast for me. I did notice the desk people treating others like it was some expensive and high class place they were lucky to be at but they treated me fine. There's a reataraunt and bar on site which was helpful. Lots of TV's and the place was nicely decorated. Room was decent size. Everything was pretty clean and neat and in good working order. The AC was loud and hard to get to the desired temp so I just ended up turning it completely off. Shower was hot and towels were big and soft. The gym was pretty lame but I'm thankful there was one and I did get to squeeze in a couple workouts with what they had. There is a big climbing gym there that was pretty cool if you're into that. Location was central downtown so it was easy to get to the other hotels, casinos and Reno event center.

The restaurant has an incredible kitchen for food prepared and provided in the banquet room. The appetizers were fresh and delicious, appropriately portioned. The desserts were absolutely fresh and delicious. Well worth the calories! The staff was friendly and professional. The atmosphere was classy and spacious. Valet parking is available or street parking , also.

Hotel rooms are a bit dated They do have water refill stations on every floor. The gym is 24 hours. The Whitney Cafe is actually quite good. We ate there every morning as the food quality was hood and had a reasonable price point. The ambiance was quite nice, as well. The location is a little sketchy especially at nighttime but it is close to a lot of casinos and fairly close to Midtown (great food).

Room was clean, bed was comfy. AC was easy to control. It did have a microwave and mini fridge. Emphasis on the mini for the fridge. Pool was semi heated. The outside temp was in the 60s so the water felt about room temp. Whirlpool was nice and warm. The fitness center has the basic weights and cardio machines. Laundry facilities only had 1 washer and dryer. We had dinner at the bistro located in the lobby area. Basic foods of salads, sandwiches, pizza and burgers. Didn't know they had a kids menu until we had placed our order and one of the workers (the one who didn't assist us) asked the family behind us if they wanted a kids menu. The bistro is only open during certain hours (breakfast and diner mainly. Grab and go snacks and some travel items available at the "market" next to reception. Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.

I have "status", so I was offered an upgrade to a spa suite, for a very reasonable price. The price range, of course depends on what day of the week it is, as well if there are any events going on, but even at full price, that spa suite is well worth the splurge. I was checked in by Claudia, and she was very friendly and helpful. My room was in the tower that is connected to the main casino. I was on the fifth floor. The view during the daytime wasn't much, but at night time and sunrise, it was very pretty. I walked into the room, and I couldn't believe it! I had actually gotten a two room suite it was a beautiful suite. The living room had 2 very comfortable couches. One of them had a hide-a- bed in it, or you could just sleep across the couch. it had a mini bar that had a Keurig on it, there were two TVs, with a good picture and lots of channels, as well as the movies for rent, one in the living room and one in the bedroom, and there were also two bathrooms. The bathroom attached to the living room does not have a tub or shower. There was also a huge closet. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The bed was a bit firm for my personal taste, but I still got an OK nights sleep. I do realize that everybody's taste is different. I had to laugh when I saw the Jacuzzi tub. It was heart shaped. That tells me that this "spa suite" doubles as the honeymoon/romantic getaway suite. The Jacuzzi tub was amazing! It filled up quick, and it was so absolutely relaxing. My body was just melting away. I sat in that thing for almost a half hour, and when I got out, I went to sleep very quick. My only regret, is that I didn't have a special someone to share it with. (for those of you who have met me, I apologize for putting that image into your brain. Please, I beg of you, let it go... No matter if there were a lot of people or nobody, they would take forever to come down (and I believe one was broken). There was a time in particular there were 20-30 people all waiting around for the elevator. I asked an employee where the stairs were (since I was on the second floor). It took two employees to even figure out if there were stairs, and then I had to wait around for security (who never came) in order to go up them. The room, while decently clean and modern, was missing hand soap, and the AC rattled extremely loud when the compressor would turn on. I finally figured out I could jam a pillow in between the bed and AC to keep it quiet. Throughout the stay, the front desk people were very unhelpful, either not knowing anything, or just saying "yeah I can't help, go ask the bell hop".
