It offered a welcoming place to stay coming out of a very rough time - The Pandemic. We had travel cross country after our family had been separated to shelter in place since my husband was a First Responder. We were traveling with our toddler and concerned with his health, safety & general well-being. During a high-stress time I don't recall being bothered or discontent with anything. I appreciated the little welcome screen on the tv. And our room had a cute little seating nook. I also remember the price was spot-on. I think the cost to value offered was great. A hotel shuttle that operates every 15 minutes with no fuss, amazing! This spot is across the street from Reno airport but roads and lack of signage made it hard to cut across. The shuttle however is super fast and easy in and out. Best yet. The amenities are excellent with a nice rectangular pool, pool table, well kitted gym, and bar and snack areas. The room is a bit squished but modern. My knock off point is that the bathroom door was stuck on the track and none of the 4 USB outlets next to the beds were fitted properly to use- bring an adapter. Perfect for a rest spot before and after flight for Reno. read more

We love the lounging amenities in this hotel- they have a pool table downstairs, games for kids and adults, tables, comfy sofas, a small bar, complementary beverages in the lobby area, and breakfast sandwiches for purchase. Now, the cons- service is just absolutely horrendous. My family, the friends we came with (who had two separate rooms), and I have never ever experienced such horrible hospitality. Our children were yelled at for just sitting in the lounge area by the bar, with the bartender saying- "I've told you already before that kids can't be in this area." Our friend and three kids were also yelled at for looking at the complimentary items. The front desk representative said- "what are you doing? Just 1! Now go back to your old folks." When we asked for hand soap in our room (because we had none), the front desk person said- "Oh, we ran out." Not to mention that every time I smile at anyone (staff and guests) no one ever smiles back. For the record, we travel all the time, are Marriott members, and have stayed in much nicer places. This hotel needs staff training to teach more about customer service. I have never felt so uncomfortable away from home in my entire life. With that said, I will never stay at an Aloft hotel ever again unless reviews say they've improved their service and how they treat people of all ages with respect. read more

Super clean and convienent BUT the pillows sucked. Everything else was awesome, comfortable beds, free shuttle to the airport (took about 4 minutes) , and 24 hour desk staff. My husband and I walked to Dennys for dinner and it was about 15 minutes. I booked Aloft through Priceline for $150 on a Tuesday night, and saw on their website it was $12 to park for a night. I had called the hotel the day before to ask a question and staff was very nice. The shuttle starts at 4 am. Flor was our shuttle driver, she was very sweet and we even got to leave a bit early. I think you do have to check in to the shuttle the night before so that they can save you a spot. Would totally stay here again! read more

This was our first time staying at an aloft hotel and we were very impressed. The beds was some of the most comfortable we have stayed in and the sitting area in the room was the perfect size. They have a really nice lobby bar were you can grab a quick cocktail or bite to eat. We didn't have time for breakfast, but they do offer free coffee in the lobby. The pool is nice as well, but not heated and was a little cold for September when we visited. There is a Costco and some small restaurants walking distance from the hotel as well. They have a shuttle the the airport too! read more

Stayed here away from my normal hotel in Reno for business. Was pleasantly surprised with the accommodations. Rooms and meeting rooms were up to standard. Nothing that will blow you away, but more than sufficient. Food and beverage was great. Ashley at the WXYZ bar was amazing. Great conversation and super attentive. Shout out to Dante the service dog who hangs out by the bar for support. One of the best service dogs I've seen especially in the industry! read more

A mini-fridge, a working-desk, a well-lit mirror, a body mirror, a nice shower, blackout curtain, plus outlets and USB ports everywhere. There is a water refill station by the elevator in the lobby, a gym, and a heated, outdoor pool with lounge chairs. Front desk person was nice and friendly. Check-in was super quick. This had to be my worst experience ever staying at a Marriott family hotel. I will never stay at this location or better yet, an Aloft hotel. If this is their standard type of service, I rather be at a Motel 8 where I pay much less. This is NOT a family friendly hotel and they cheat you with your money and let me tell you why.. 1. The service at the front desk and bar is horrendous. My kids were looking to get a complimentory toothbrush because one of them forgot them at home. There was even a sign that says complimentory. The mean front desk woman snuck up behind my kids and told them to get out of there and go back to your "old folks". WTF is that?!! 2. Some heavy woman around the front area and bar kept on saying "Tell your kids" to not be around the bar area eventhough at times, the kids were not even in the area!! The heavy woman kept on reminding me 4x during my stay... no kids allow here ok? Horrible service. Evil is the better word for this person. 3. I ordered a drink that advertised for $13. The heavy woman again charged me $15 saying it was a marketing error. That's not even the worst part... that same woman charged me a DOUBLE for that drink. I complained and the same woman at first denied her mistake then later said sorry... she obviously had some annamosity towards me. This is my honest feedback. I strongly advise any families to not stay here. Book at the next door hotel instead. read more

Given my line of work I stay at hotels often and I must say this is probably the worst experience I've ever had. I think everyone at the front desk has forgotten that they are in the customer service business, we're not friends. When I ask you a question, a curt response is not what I'm looking for or would expect. We're paying money to stay at this hotel, it's not free. This is my first time at this hotel and will be my last. No one picks up the phone (I called twice and let in ring for a minute each time)-- eventually I say forget it and go downstairs just to see the two front desk employees away from the front desk talking about how her car won't be insured because it's a Kia, etc etc. I wasn't greeted with a good morning, much less acknowledged as a customer, and the overall attitude was stank (best word I can think of to describe it). I asked for the managers name and have every intention of writing that email as well because this is unacceptable. The actually hotel is really nice but the employees don't match. These folks either need to get some customer service training or find a new job. read more

Wow, this was a surprise!! Stayed out of brand for a quick work trip and fell in love with the beds and room layout. Pro's: Walk in shower Toilet with a door Plenty of storage Fun colors and room compliments A huge tv that even greeted me! The bed...so comfy and for me, the perfect combo of firm and soft. Not too much bedding but enough...if that makes any sense. Down and hypoallergenic pillow options. Conference room was large and plenty of space for 30 people. Hotel shuttle. Spacious parking. Lounge area in the main floor with games and pool table. Free Wi-Fi for all. Con's: The access to electrical outlets didn't match the room configuration. You can sit and work but plugging in is not convenient. Lots of hallway...huge U-shape. I definitely got my steps in No free food...at all. Checkin was easy. People were nice and helpful. It's a new property and super convenient to the airport. I'd stay here again and I might even like it...sorry Hilton! read more

I love staying at Aloft hotels because of its new designs and modern rooms, and this Aloft is no different. The problem is in the way the room is designed and also the smell of the rooms. The rooms are laid out in a way where the bathroom is divided with a "wall" and so the shower is in the same area as the washing hands station. So basically, when someone is taking a shower you cannot leave the bed side of the room. Also, when we first entered the room, the room smelled a little bit of mildew, which was not super pleasant. The hallways are also pretty dark and dank. I will say that the furniture and beds are very cute. The mattress and blankets are honestly one of the best I have slept on at a hotel, but I will say that the bathroom is a bit inconvenient. Oh and they don't have a strict mask policy which seems weird to me. read more

I booked this hotel for three reasons; 1) We had an early am flight and didn't feel like having to wake up at 2am, 2) I'm a Marriot Bonvoy member and was able to get a room here for a great price, and 3) It's literally right across the street from the airport. Check in was a breeze. I was able to do it through the app and was also able to use my phone as the room key. On our way to the hotel I received a notification that our room was ready to go. I never had to stop at the front desk. The room was clean, modern, and well stocked with all the usuals. It even included a Bluetooth speaker you can hook your phone to up. My only complaints would be the pillows are not firm in the slightest (they did a number on my neck) and the walls are VERY thin (I was able to hear full blown conversations). The room, while cozy, is small and there is little in the way of privacy when using the shower. There is no barrier. If it's just you or you and your significant other this isn't an issue but if you're splitting the room with a friend, be warned. The customer service is very good here. As stated, I never had to use the front desk but anytime we walked by it (on the way in and out) we were always greeted and acknowledged. The staff here is on point. I would definitely book here again the next time we fly out. read more

Despite its proximity to the airport, it is very quiet - the people in the pool were louder than anything else. I believe they're pet-friendly. It's modern and bright. Toiletries by bliss. Flat-screen TV with your name on the welcome screen, smart fridge, lots of USB ports for your electronics, a small dining area in the room. Certain cable channels not available though. They have a decent gym, filtered water dispenser, a restaurant, and mini store - all by the lobby. Ample parking spaces even for those with boats. With COVID: Quick minimal contact during check-in and check-out. Masks required in public areas. My flight wasn't until later in the evening and they were very accommodating by allowing me to do late checkout. Staff was fantastic. My stay was comfortable and seamless. read more

wish I could give this place 10 stars. In fact, I wanted to write to corporate about the staff specifically which makes this place so special. How we ended up at the Aloft was because we couldn't get checked in at the Hyatt place next door (even though our room was prepaid for) . They couldn't get their systems to issue keys so we went over to Aloft at 4 am - after driving all through the night. We didn't have a reservation at Aloft and they were full. But, Jeremy helped us by moving some things around so we could easily get to bed to rest before having to head to the hospital. Jeremy went way above what any staff member has ever done at any hotel I have ever seen. He was kind and hospitable. You can tell - he loves his job. The hotel was so nice. Very clean. Dog friendly. Safe. Secure. They offer lots of amenities. Pool, gym and a lobby full of board games and a pool table. There is a restaurant bar on site and also a snack store downstairs that offers a wide variety of food and beverages. The hotel is dog friendly too! So you'll see friendly animals around from time to time. The hotel is convenient to the airport and the Renown Reno hospital . We stayed 2 different times during the week. Because my father was in the hospital and it was nice to come back to a hotel that treated me and cared for me like I was their own family. I will forever be grateful for the ease they gave my family through this difficult time. Would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Reno. You will not be disappointed. This is a true airport hotel. Good for a night or two. Rooms are small, but that's usually how Aloft is. We had a group of 10+ staying here and there was a lot of inconsistencies. I didn't have shower gel, multiple people didn't have conditioner. I stayed here 12 nights and had to ask to have my room cleaned. I didn't even have a placard to prevent room service. The extra lock that I like to use in a hotel room broke off in my hand. One night there was someone power washing the sidewalk outside my room at 10:45pm. I thought that was odd. The bartender was fantastic and the shuttle is easy. read more

I really enjoy staying at this line of hotels. It's so hip and trendy and modern. The rooms are always super clean. This one had wood flooring, some neon lights, and a nice shower area. It's located near the airport and I was very surprised that parking was free (as of this writing, anyway). They are also pet friendly with no extra fee. At check-in, staff was wonderful. Friendly and cheery. There's not much in terms of food - in the hotel or in the surrounding area, so plan ahead. They do however have a bar area. I decided to grab a few beers and chat it up with the friendly bartender. She was chatty about the new hotel. I mean, not much more you can ask for in a transit hotel. I believe they have a shuttle as well, but don't quote me on that. read more

Last summer (2022) this was s favorite place to overnight in Reno. Almost exactly one year later we are less certain to stay at Aloft. The hotel has an extraordinary location virtually across the street from the Tahoe/Reno Airport. It is new - just about a year old at this writing, so it has the advantages of being fresh in design and, at least last year, very clean. However, we were very disappointed this stay with the overall experience. The GM apologized for the substandard food and beverage service in the lobby area, explaining that the F&B Manager had just left, and things were temporarily in bad order. Purchasing and food prep records were 'lost', we heard, which left the rest of the team at a loss. Hopefully, this is remediable in the short term and does not reflect disregard from the Marriott chain (which owns the Aloft brand), or penny-pinching by the hotel's owner (which may not be Marriott, if it is a franchised property). Stayed one night on our way to Tahoe as Elite members. Front desk Accommodated a late arrival (near midnight) with a smile. WXYZ lounge closes at 10 but the sundry shop made a late night snack possible. Didn't see toiletries available for purchase. Less than a mile from the airport, pretty sure you could walk there but we had a rental. Beautiful interior and room. Hallway was a little dark and floors seemed a bit thin but blackout shades made for an easy sleep. Parking included. Complimentary coffee in the morning but no continental breakfast. Breakfast sandwiches offered a la carte straight from the kitchen (less than $10) until about 9ish? Based on what I saw. As Marriott loyalists we will likely stay again in Reno. The proximity to airport can't be beat. read more

This is a great little place to stay and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone with fur babies looking to stay in the area. They allow dogs for free which is super rare and they actually have a well maintained pet area that was less than 2 minutes from my room (and I was on the 3rd floor). The rooms are cute and functional and the location is great. I really want to do 5 stars, but I had a few issues that won't allow me. When I entered the room I saw dust and dirt immediately and after jumping in the shower (which does have super poor water pressure as mentioned in other reviews) I had dirt and crumbs stick to my bare feet... it was pretty gross. Also the walls are thin and noise travels, which is difficult when you have people up at all hours catching flights. We had to put a bark collar on our pup so she wouldn't bark at 3am when noisy people were yelling outside our room about the shuttle and/or talking in the parking lot at 5am . No place is perfect though and I was overall very happy with our stay. I comment Marriot for being pet-friendly and hope the open more locations like this soon. read more

A decent hotel right next to the airport. A couple things to consider: 1) Shuttle Reservations - if you want a shuttle to the airport you need to be sure to reserve it. They run every 15 minutes, but fill up to if the hotel is busy. You can walk across to the airport, but you'll have to crawl over or under chain dividers intended to prevent pedestrians. If you have little to no luggage, and it's not bitter cold or snowy, go for it. 2) Food -not much in the way of food nearby. Be prepared to order in. They have some food in the lobby, but more for breakfast and snacking. 3) Gym - or lack thereof. One bench and 50lb dumbbell max. 3 treadmills and one cable machine. This hotel has no separation between the shower (which is completely see through) and the rest of the living area. Not at all okay for families with children! There is absolutely no privacy when showering. Also, you can hear people all night long, both above you and the rooms beside you. No one in our family of four slept all night. This was such a horrible experience that we have since canceled future Aloft reservations. read more

It was dumping snow last night. My mom, is a city bus driver. I have a house next to her in Carson. "A 40 min drive" she gets off work at 3am. I did t want her to drive that late over the pass that was being pummeled by the storm. I called aloft at 1am. Racheal answered and was VERY helpful. Extremely understanding and accommodating. I was able to get my mom a room. I had stayed here before the week the first opened, and loved it. Very clean. Very comfy. Fast forward to today, I got a note from my mom who expressed how sorry she was for wasting my money. There was a dog barking and people slamming doors at 5 am. Causing the dog to bark even more. So she got no sleep. And ended up coming home. She has always been the type to never complain. So to sum up my review. Love the place. Love the staff. Rachel is the best. But, waste of money this time around if you want to get some shut eye. 135 bucks down the drain. :( read more

Loved this place! Where do I start? The staff was amazing. When I checked in, Paige helped us. She was super friendly and helpful. We had our dog with us and she even gave us a dog goody bag. Dogs are also free here!!! Big plus! Some hotels charge upwards of $100. The rooms are new and clean. The decor is very fun and modern. There was even a steamer in our room. In general, the hotel is doing a great job following COVID regulations. My husband used the gym and said he was the only one in there! One small knit pick, the water pressure isn't great in the shower. We'll definitely be staying here again if we're in the area. read more

The hotel is right next to the airport though it was very quiet which was really nice. It is very clean and it's obvious as soon as you walk into the lobby. I like the modern touch it has. The room was very nice and modern. The colorful rug definitely made the room fun. The T.V. had my name on it which was a nice touch. Reminded me of Las Vegas when they do that at the fancy hotels. This is a Marriott property so it is very nice. With the COVID-19 outbreak they should remove hair dryers cups since it could spread germs. The shower was very clean and I like their shampoo combined with conditioner. I wish they could of refilled it properly to the top. It was half empty. I asked the front desk if I could get a late check out. The lady that answered said until 12. I asked for 1 pm she said no. I was excited and told my fiancé we had the room until 12. He said that's the standard check out. I think the hotel could of been more accommodating especially since they told me last night they weren't even half booked. When I checked out to I'm carrying a bunch of bags to the truck, the front desk associate was not engaged. She could of said good morning or how's it going. Love staying at Aloft Hotels. Very modern and clean at all of their locations. Had a great stay here and love that it is dog friendly. Had a nice bar area to hang out on the first floor. Nice clean outdoor pool as well. I booked it through another website instead of the Aloft website and had some issues. This is why I deducted 2 stars from the location. I called twice trying to figure things out because I was advised to by my credit card. Left two messages but never received a call back as promised. I ended up calling my credit card to resolve the issue. Would definitely recommend staying at Aloft Hotels if you are looking for a clean modern place. However, if you book through a different website just make sure you check you bill for extra charges. read more

Convenient to the airport with prompt shuttle service. Really cute interior with lots of interesting features. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The staff was friendly and efficient. There is no restaurant or real food. The coffee in the room was not drinkable- like many similar hotels. Unfortunately the coffee in the breakfast bar was horrible as well. Why spend so much on such a cute place and then go cheap on coffee? There wasn't an hand soap- should I have to go into the shower to wash my hands? This is a pet friendly place but that wasn't evident which is a positive. Finally one of the staff was visibly sick and coughing and unmasked- not a good look! read more

Like a high school locker room after a football game, wreaked of B.O. smelled like rotten feet. It was also extremely loud and the rooms are tiny. The Aloft is definitely Airport friendly. Two night stay in September 2020. The room seemed clean although no sight of covid clean/sanitized signage anywhere in our room. Checkin was easy and the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. The room decor is modern equipped with a mini fridge, radio, steamer, safe and several usb charging stations. Our room also offered a small sitting area with eat-in style table. I would say the only downfall to the room is no bathroom door. Depending on who's staying in the room with you there is no privacy while showering- something to consider if staying with friends or children. The toilet area does offer a barn style sliding door for privacy. Overall a good stay for us. read more

If you have a dog, this is a great place for you. It is right next to the airport and close to the convention center. The pool is a bit small and the gym isn't very exciting. The grassy area for the dog was nice, but there are no poop bags so please bring your own. The front desk staff were nice. There was no conditioner so bring your own. There is a weird master light, so if you want to pee in the middle of the night, you'll need a flashlight or phone light unless you want to wake everyone. read more
