Given the scale of our stay--six rooms booked for a group--I think it's worth sharing a…read moreconstructive perspective for future guests and, hopefully, for management. To start, the check-in process was far more difficult than it should have been. Despite notifying the hotel in advance (in writing, through their app) that we would be arriving early, one of our confirmed reservations was canceled. This created a cascade of inconvenience: one of our guests was left without proper accommodations for part of the stay and had to spend a significant amount of time working from the lobby. For a property operating at this level, that kind of breakdown in communication and inventory management is surprising. The front desk experience, specifically with Stephanie, was another challenge. The day before our scheduled checkout, she called asking why we were still in the room--seemingly unaware of our actual reservation dates. She called again later that same day with the same concern. While she did eventually apologize and acknowledged the mistake, the repeated interruptions had already created unnecessary friction. What was more concerning, however, was a lack of situational awareness. The same guest who had been displaced due to the reservation issue was later approached in the lobby--while dressed in business attire and actively on a call--and asked whether he was a guest of the hotel. Given the earlier issues, this came across as both disorganized and, frankly, dismissive of the inconvenience already caused. I want to be clear: these are fixable issues. With better internal communication, stronger training around guest management, and more attention to detail, this could be a very different experience. But as it stands, the front desk operations--particularly during check-in--fall short of what one would reasonably expect. For those considering a stay, I would recommend confirming all details multiple times and being prepared for some inconsistencies at arrival. And for management, this feels like a clear opportunity to invest in training and process improvements, particularly for guest-facing staff.

The bathroom is all white, modern, and cheery. The art is black and white pictures of Lake Tahoe, Ansel Adams style. Sparks is a quiet little modern suburb east of Reno. Reno is a mini Vegas with 24-hour casinos everywhere - I would never stay in Reno with its lights that are on all night and also what appears to be prostitution or at least some something strange going on if not actually prostitution. Safe neighborhood. There's a Jimmy John's sandwich shop nearby and the sandwiches are so cheap compared to the SFBA. I was thinking of staying at a boutique hotel at Lake Tahoe but the prices were too high. Glad I can here instead. Good value at $150 for one night. Colleen provided good service.

The morning check-in went okay: a new front-desk employee did her best, issued new keys, and said she'd marked my room as cleaned so I could be rechecked into the same room. Unfortunately the recheck-in process wasn't communicated to the rest of the staff - I had three different housekeeping attendants knock on my door at different times asking when I was checking out. That would have been salvageable, but the night shift was worse. I returned around 9:45 PM exhausted and could not get into the building or my room with the new key. The desk only had one clerk (Sheena) who was on the phone and assisting another guest; while waiting I asked if another staff member could help and she shook her head no. The first guest was apologized to, given water and an item from the store, and sent on their way - I received no apology or acknowledgement despite already having completed check-in and being a multi-week guest. I left feeling like a nuisance. I'm disappointed and frustrated. Management needs to improve communication between shifts and train front-desk staff to prioritize locked-out guests (and show basic courtesy). I won't be staying here again unless things noticeably change over the coming weekend - there are plenty of other hotel options in the area.

Connie was working the corner bar in the back--fast, efficient, and on point even when things picked up. We usually try to grab a seat at the poker bar, but when Duc is working, it's nearly impossible to find an opening--and for good reason. We met Duc several years ago just passing through the area, and ever since then, we make it a point to stop in when we can. He has the best attitude, comes up with creative drink ideas, and makes every visit feel like you're catching up with a longtime friend. He's welcoming, engaging, and consistently delivers top-tier service. Highly recommend Western Village not just for the gaming, but also for the solid food options and the consistently great service--especially from Connie and Duc.

I was, I'm at casino to play with 3 family members, after I lost a couple of times, we joined up and played together, pooling our money. All I wanted was a blue moon. One girl finally was nice enough to bring me my beer, I tipped, and she explained to me what was up. Don't feel it's right. Later I asked for an AMF drink, girl doesn't tell me anything, then comes back to tell me it's 12 bucks... I understand if policy has changed or whatever, but after speaking to a manager they felt it's better to throw away the drink, instead of explaining to me what was going on. Just upset, as we come here to play, eat wings and drink, always have, but never will again. It should NOT be this hard to get a drink at a casino.

Fairfield by Marriott…read moreInn & Suites Reno Sparks absolutely stands out, and it's because of people like Larry Cardarelli. I stayed here previously and was genuinely hoping Larry was still part of the team, and I was beyond thrilled to see he is. Larry is the definition of professionalism and hospitality. He doesn't just do his job, he elevates the entire experience. He checks in on guests, makes you feel welcomed, and somehow remembers faces in a way that honestly feels like magic. With how many people come through those doors, the fact that he remembered me made this stay feel incredibly personal, like coming back to family. And then I walked into my room and found the cutest little towel puppy waiting on the bed. That moment right there, that's the kind of thoughtful, unexpected touch that turns a stay into a memory. It genuinely made me smile. The rooms are spotless. I'm very particular about cleanliness, especially bathrooms, and this one exceeded my standards. Everything was immaculate, fresh, and clearly cared for. This hotel has something special going on. It's not just clean rooms and a good location, it's the people, the attention to detail, and that feeling that you actually matter as a guest. Larry, if your leadership team is reading this, he is a standout employee and a huge reason guests come back. Please recognize the impact he's making. I will absolutely be staying here again.

I appreciated the complimentary fruit offered near the check-in desk. I had a room facing the freeway, so there was constant noise throughout the day and night. I had a comfortable stay and would recommend it if everything else in Reno was booked or too expensive.

Super construction going on and the parking lots are a mess, you don't know to go right or left and I got lost finding entrances even after 3 days.really dirty too. 2. The dirt doesn't stop there. Our first room we were given was so smokey I mean burning eyes smokey. There was a box fan sitting outside the room so I think they tried to air it out but it was like someone burned a cigar in there and just closed the door. 3. After going thru a room swap we were given another room. Fine but there was a dirty rag left in the bathroom counter with hairs all over it. Not a huge deal but still, come on right? 4. The late check out. Went to the front desk night before to make sure late check out was ok since we were at an event that morning. No problem they said you got until 4 with an additional fee. Great right? Nope since our room was a room that was attached to a suite they needed us out before that. Just come on again! 5. The service is just rude everywhere. I mean everyone you encounter! The Rim restaurant guy host in a suit..., I'm convinced was high as a kite. Don't believe me, go there and talk to him, holy! The security desk, rude and unhelpful. Anyone you call on the phone from the room, rude. I'm not expecting Disney customer service, but come on man! Someone teach these guys some customer service skills. So the good.... The resort is really cool. Bowling video games, nice casino, everything to spend a fun weekend. We may even come back just to do the pool and stuff to do there. To wrap it up... Lower your expectations. Your not going to get the cleanest room. Most certainly you will be treated rudely. It's a place that could be so epic but falls short due to just taking short cuts in the customer service, organization and just plain care about your whole experience factor. P.S. you will receive at least 5 text messages telling you about how great their spa is.
