Where do I begin? I started coming here about 4+ years ago. Someone mentioned that this Bakery was in my neighborhood. Coming from high expectations with Blue Moon Bakery in Silverthorne, I was cautiously optimistic. They have not disappointed me yet!!! Mary is absolutely lovely. She communicates clearly and professionally. Their website is mostly user-friendly and they answer the phone! Yeay for this!!! Orders can be placed both ways. Their pricing is fair and transparent. They offer delivery for $20 within a certain radius. Add another $10 if you request same day delivery (rush). My one hesitation is they need to have a written section when placing a customized order on the website. Currently I do not see one. A comment section for the staff would be beneficial/helpful. Things like 'remove xxx item' or 'make stars', etc... They have a section for message, unsure if that's what goes on the cake or gets written like a gift message. it's also character limited. I've ordered a couple cakes for my birthday, plus for family members. I've also ordered various desserts to take to family holiday gatherings. Today, I had two items dropped off. A small chocolate hazelnut cake. A very (2 months) late birthday gift to myself. Also, pumpkin woopie pies. The cake is soft, moist and sweet. They also respected my request for no dark chocolate pieces. The hours are clearly on the website. They are located in Congress Park off 6th near Fillmore. It's prudent to plan ahead with Orders, especially around the holidays. I supporting local businesses. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered a custom cake that came decorated incorrectly and was so dense and dry it was barely edible. We didn't even finish it because it just wasn't good. What makes this worse is that I reached out to the bakery multiple times (three messages plus two unanswered phone calls) and never received a single response. I spent close to $80 on this cake (including the delivery), so I expected far better quality and at least a basic level of customer service. We've used this bakery in the past, but after this experience - and their complete lack of accountability - we won't be returning. read more

My Wife being a very thoughtful individual stopped by Maggie and Molly's to grab a birthday cake for myself that evening. She selected one of their 6" premade cakes which they personalized with a birthday message. The buttercream frosting was light and not too sweet and in my opinion excellent as I think most are heavy and over sweetened. The angel food cake was dry and on the heavy side and more representative of a pound cake. The strawberry filing was just normal, everyday preserves and my daughter remarked that they were too sweet for her liking. Overall. a sub-standard cake which was a huge disappointment given the $35 price tag. read more

I remember buying a gingerbread cookie at this store a few years ago during the holidays season. I remember that experience fondly still to this day so when I was in the neighborhood earlier in the afternoon, I made a quick stop to buy a few items. The store looked a lot more spacious than the last time. I think they expanded their space as the whole ordering counter was a lot bigger. Also, the kitchen (as far as I remember correctly) wasn't really visible from the ordering counter either. A generous amount of sweets was beautifully displayed upfront. As I was immediately greeted by one of the workers (with a nice smile) I asked her if I could have a few minutes to decide. Everything looked good; I felt that I was tantalized by each item a bit. I only needed a few items though. I set my eyes on two things: Nutella Chocolate Cookie and PumpkinBrownie Bar. Both of them are/were decently priced. Once home, I took a few bites of each item. The brownie has/had a hint of pumpkin in it. And it's not too sweet. It's also perfectly moist. I really enjoyed the cookie. This one is not too sweet either. It's not necessarily airy but it's light to a point where it wasn't decadent overload. Wow, they truly did a great job with both of them. The holiday season is fast approaching. This is a great place to get your sweet desserts for whatever occasion you'll have in the next few months. read more

In the last month or so, I have ordered four half sheets of cakes, two gluten free each time, for large group meetings. The reaction every time is everyone has exclaimed how delicious they were and asked where I got them. I will never order from anyplace else in the future when what I can offer delicous, well received acclaim from attendees at functions. read more

Ordered the cherry chip flavor and it was underwhelming, dry and dense. Cherry chips were not in the cake, but rather cherries mixed with a thin layer of butter cream in the middle. Paid $20 for delivery and Mary was almost an hour late delivering at the agreed upon time. Asked her to refund the delivery fee and she would not. read more

I called Maggie & Molly's for a special delivery to the local hospital, St. Luke's. I don't recall who took my order but whoever she was, she was kind and friendly. I called from California and it was nice that they took over the phone payment. If I could give minus stars, I would! Recent experience doesn't deserve any time or energy! I had used this shop for custom sugar cookies in '21 for a HS grad party, and the product was wonderful! However this past August I returned to order custom sugar cookies for a college grad party. It was complete CRAP from the product to the managers handling of the situation! The cookies were SO thin, cracking, sunken, and chewy! Icing never fully hardened, pooled, sagging, and the cookie had no taste except for the loads of powered sugar. The manager was very rude on the phone saying "Well you took them, I don't give refunds!' and when I expressed I could come by with the product to show her, she responded with "No! Don't come here!" I understand the fact you can't return a perishable product, and I did purchase them. I just wanted to show her for feedback and understanding. I couldn't even serve the green Oregon cookies at the party, they were worse off than a 1st graders talent! The manager eventually did respond at the end of the phone call agreeing to a 25% refund that I still have never received. ($200 order w/ tip for overpriced 30 ct cookies) Emailed her a month later regarding the status of the refund, and she never responded. The amount of times she cut me off on the phone call was very rude, immature, unwarranted, lack of listening to the customer. I will never return, support this shop, and warn anyone wanting a quality product - to keep walking!! read more

I ordered a cake for my daughter's birthday. I emailed the order and confirmed over the phone but when I went to pick up the cake, they said they forgot to make it. They then said they would deliver the cake later that evening but never showed up. When I called they were rude, unapologetic, and said they didn't think I actually needed a cake anymore. I was honestly speechless. They clearly can't handle their current workload and I wish they would have just been honest about it from the start instead of leaving us scrambling during our daughter's birthday. read more

I placed a large order in two parts for Easter. The first one went in the first week of April; the 2 one the week of Easter. I got a text on Thursday before Easter saying they got my second order and that everything would be ready by 3 o'clock on Saturday and they close at 4 o'clock. The Saturday before Easter at noon I received a text saying they needed until 4:30 to fulfill my order. When we went to pick up the order three major things were missing, with no explanation other some stressed person behind the counter saying they didn't get it done, and that she could deliver it late that night, but unfortunately, the items were needed for a party happening that night. I waited all week for a phone call and a refund. I finally called them on Thursday. The owner was absolutely rude and in apologetic--told me they've been working till 10 o'clock and that she hadn't gotten around to a refund. This is a place that I have referred through the years and bought a lot of stuff from, but no more --rude obnoxious service from the owner and it was their fault they didn't deliver nor did they communicate they couldn't deliver. and the items they did give me were stale, including horrible cinnamon rolls with some frosting and black jellybeans on top and a cake that looked beautiful on the website, but was again probably frozen I will never use this bakery again and certainly if you're in need of something around a holiday I sure wouldn't try them. They clearly can't handle the pressure and it doesn't help that she shorted me four dollars on the refund but that's neither here nor there because it's indicative of how they run their business. read more

Where have you been my whole life? OMGEEE so so so good and a big hit with our birthday boy and the whole party! I got exactly what I asked for -- a cake for a dear friend that we share the love of volleyball, have a huge group of gay friends and featured he's from Iowa (yay corn stalks and the corn was textured like corn!!) Also the cake was delicious and is my friend's fave -- Ho-Ho inspired so chocolate cake with buttercream icing in layers in the cake! I've lived in Denver since 2000 and this bakery has been around 10+ years -- where have y'all been my life in Denver? I dunno but I'll be back! Ordered a birthday cake- was very excited to see cherry chip on their flavor list. I have to say that the cake was well decorated.. and that is about as much credit we can give unfortunately. This beautiful cake went straight into the trash bin.. and no one ate a single slice. The cake itself was beyond dry.. like basically inedible. The buttercream was so greasy - just tastes like lard.. not sweet at all. I know that overpiped vintage inspired cakes require quite a bit of frosting- but it was not even edible. Yikes. I have been a huge fan of this bakery going back to when Mary operated out of a rented kitchen space in southwest Denver. I've been a loyal follower as her goodies are quite scrumptious. Today I went in to buy myself some red velvet cupcakes for my birthday and I walked out with sticker shock. Six cupcakes cost me $25. I thought maybe I had been mistakenly overcharged so I went back and checked the website and noticed she is now charging $50 for a dozen cupcakes. These cupcakes are not any bigger than the ones you make at home and they are priced at $4 each?? I have no idea what brought on this change in business model, but it's really sad to see this happen and frankly unfortunately means I won't be purchasing from Maggie and Mollys again. I can't imagine too many customers sticking around for this kind of pricing. read more

Ordered the fruit tart online for a friend's birthday, and it was fantastic. Also remember to check-in on Yelp for a free cupcake, cookie, or brownie! Based on taste and customer service, this place would be 5 stars. The reason I'm knocking down 1 star is that the fruit tart didn't match the website description. On their website for ordering, the same fruit tart picture had mangoes and kiwis on it, but the one I received only had berries - NBD since we like berries, but it's not the same tart as the one I paid for... Also, the website fruit tart description says, "We can add a message to the board too" but when I called the bakery on pickup date, they said that they couldn't add a customized message board for tarts. These things aren't major, but when I'm paying for something, it's important that the business is upfront about what you're receiving. Besides these caveats, I'll definitely be back. read more

I am very impressed by this incredible bakery. I'm shocked only have a 3.5!!! I live in LA and wanted to send my best friend an apple pie for her birthday. During this pandemic I knew it would be difficult to track a decent place and then have to figure out delivery on an app. I stumbled upon Maggie's yelp page and was leery because of the 3.5 star rating. I saw their photos and read some positive reviews so decided to give it a try. The owner of the shop answered the phone and said she didn't have an Apple pie but she would freshly bake one for me and personally deliver it herself within the next few hours. She baked it and delivered still hot within 3 hours!!! My friend said it tasted like her grandmas apple pie and how incredible it was. Do yourself a favor and go buy the Sour Cream and Sugar cookies. As a birthday gift, I received those and the chocolate chip cookies. I ate nearly 4 of the sour cream cookies in one day!! The chocolate chip I gave to my husband as I am not a fan of chocolate chip cookies that are 99% chocolate chips and 1% cookie. That's just me though. I was in the midst of my COVD-19 walk and decided to swing by and see what they had to offer. I ordered 3 cookies and a scone. The cookies were good but not as fresh as they could be. The scone WAS NOT a scone. I know a scone. Just a reminder, yes snark, a scone IS NOT a biscuit or a muffin shaped like one. I ordered a lemon/poppyseed. it was so bad that after one bite I threw it away. It tasted stale and had no taste. "There are more significant differences between scones and biscuits. Scones typically have eggs in them and biscuits do not. Scones tend to be a little denser, drier, and not as flaky. Just adding oats, fruit, herbs or anything else to a biscuit dough and cutting them in triangles does not make them a scone." Martha S. Great spot for fresh pastry (when they are fresh) It seems likely some of the goodies get old before selling and the staff lets you take your chances. I would like more consistently soft/fresh baked goods at a bakery like this. That being said, maybe ask what's fresh and enjoy! The good is 10/10 here when fresh. If they did a day old 50% off rack I think they'd probably have people buying full orders of things like the magic bars and whatnot. read more

I was in need of a last minute birthday cake and placed my order at 5pm, hoping that maybe they'd be able to make it the next day. They were super accommodating and completed my cake within less than 24 hours of placing my order when their usual wait is 2-3 business days. I got the carrot cake and it was DELICIOUS! The cake was very moist, cream cheese frosting was amazing, and I loved the addition of the pecans and walnuts. Plus, the writing on the cake was neat and beautiful. This review is regarding delivery, I've never visited the store itself. I had ordered my boyfriend a dozen of the Peanut Butter & Jelly cupcakes to be delivered to his work for his birthday. I had considered Edible Arrangements but thought this would be a little more fun and more easily shared among his co-workers. I ordered online and left very specific instructions with a name and number of who to call if the delivery person was in any way confused when they arrived. I also called the bakery itself explaining the ideal time frame for the cupcakes to me delivered. The cupcakes arrived within my requested time frame which was great BUT it goes downhill from there. My boyfriend's work has a buzzer, you have to buzz in, announce yourself and someone will be right with you. The delivery person buzzed in, stated that they had a package for my boyfriend who was notified immediately and went down right away to meet the person - but they had already left. But don't worry, they left the cupcakes. On the RAILING of a STAIRWELL. This building holds several businesses within it and after paying $65 dollars which includes $25 for delivery alone I am expecting a LITTLE MORE professionalism. Lets talk about the cupcakes. Obviously not made the same day. They were hard and very dry and I'm sad to say lacked flavor. I went out of my way to order locally but ended up being so disappointed. I stumbled in this afternoon and now I remember why I have been avoiding this adorable bakery across the street. Everything looks amazing and tastes even better! Friendly smiles behind the counter were patiently waiting for me to make my selections. It took a while to make up my mind. I walked home with a blueberry scone, a peach crumble bar, a piece of sour cream crumb cake and a salted nutella cookie. Oh my! Biscotti, cupcakes, cookies galore . . . even gluten free!!
