The chef at Elegant Bakery did a fabulous job on the cakes for my daughter's wedding. He's super friendly and helped us select the cake flavors and did the exact design my daughter wanted. Not only was the cake pretty, but it tasted delicious as well. We had two different flavors, and they weren't your typical plain wedding cake. Last Saturday, the day before my daughter's wedding, we went to pick up her cupcakes from another bakery, and they were a disaster. My daughter and her husband walked into Elegant Bakery less than 24 hours before their wedding, and not only did they get a cake, they got a gorgeous 3 tier custom cake that fit their theme and was absolutely delicious. Janusz is an artist. Elegant Bakery was on the list of recommended bakers from our wedding venue, and ended up being the only place we tried out. We went for a tasting last summer and tried out the black and white raspberry cake, the Tropical Caribbean, and the vanilla cake with mimosa mousse. All three were delicious, but the Caribbean (lemon poppy) and the black raspberry cake was to die for. We ended up choosing to alternate the tiers between the two flavors, which was no problem for them. When we went to order our cake, I emailed in photos of cakes I liked from Elegant Bakery and other websites, and he drew me up a sketch that was simply stunning. His staff called a few weeks ahead to confirm the guest number and flavors, and he called me personally to discuss colors. After thirty seconds or so, I realized he was a genius and left him to his own devices. My trust was rewarded as our cake was absolutely stunning. Plus, they delivered it in a narrow period of time with absolutely no complications. I would readily recommend Chef Janusz and Elegant Bakery for about anything cake-related. I sampled cake at another incredibly popular bakery (not going to name names but it is Peruvian and has excellent branding/marketing) and it does not hold a flame to Elegant's cake. Ordered two cakes from here, they looked beautiful but the flavours were switched. I had ordered fresh berries and the white almond cake and strawberry shortcake and the flavours were switched with what the designs were supposed to be for them. I also had asked for pearls around the cake (the edible ones obviously) and received icing around the bottom of one and nothing on the other. Spent $120 for two small cakes when I had originally called and talked it was $91 for the both. I changed the flavour of one cake to the strawberry shortcake but it was basically the flavour I had originally planned but just strawberries instead of fresh berries with Bavarian cream. Also, if there was a price difference it should have been discussed. I could have achieved these cakes elsewhere at a different bakery for cheaper. They were good, but one of my friends had said it tasted like a Chantilly cake and would've been cheaper at whole foods! All for supporting businesses but this I believe was a price gouge. read more

The is a gem of a European bakery. They were extremely helpful and nice for our wedding cake. The tasting was great. We chose white chocolate raspberry and strawberry which were both the perfect combination of sweet and tart. 2 weeks before the event and on the deadline, I changed the design completely (not recommended ) as my husband could not live with fondant. They were nothing but accommodating even during their stressful busy season. The cake was perfect and better than I imagined. Everyone complimented the design but more importantly the taste. Quite possibly one of the best special occasion cake bakeries I have ever encountered. We found it on Yelp, called and came in to check it out. We found the BEST place. Ordered a cake for the next day, spoke directly with the owner who was wonderful and received quite possibly my favorite cake ever. My husband and I were recently married on September 28th, 2016. We had struggled with who could actually make our cake the way we envisioned it. Like most brides these days we found the design we wanted off of Pinterest and it was very unique to say the least. Elegant Bakery was the second bakery i "interviewed" with and from the first moment I met Janusz I knew we were is the best hands possible. He immediately began sketching our vision coupled with the Pinterest picture and made something totally unique to us. We had a fall wedding and we wanted to incorporate fall colored leaves cascading down the cake and this was immediately incorporated into the sketch as well as a recommendation to add the same sugar leaves to the cupcakes we also ordered. Janus delivered the cake to my venue and set it up accordingly without any issues. This cake was one of the highlights of our wedding and my sister was truly obsessed with it! We had five different flavors and she would follow me around, feeding me and exuberant about the taste of each flavor. All flavors are delist but our favorite was his cappuccino with cream filling..almost reminiscent of a tiramisu and the chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and chocolate ganache fillings! I do have to say that his bakery is absolutely a family business with extreme care to details, excellent customer service, and value that is unmatched in my research. The cake and price exceeded our expectations on this special day and I will continue to praise them and use them for all upcoming celebrations. We searched very thoroughly for our wedding cake baker. Some had great quality but there were concerns about service. When we met Chef Janusz, we knew we had found the one. Every aspect of working with Chef Janusz was a total joy! We had our wedding 3 days ago, and we can tell you absolutely that Elegant Bakery delivered a masterpiece. It was beautiful. It tasted extraordinary and our only regret is that we didn't get to eat more of it (and I had 3 pieces!!). We'll be going back to Elegant for more fine baked goods. We're customers for life! I had a very upsetting and strange experience after choosing Elegant Bakery for my wedding cake this summer. Janusz was recommended to me by a family member, and he knew I had the unfortunate task of planning my Colorado wedding while living out of state. So, we met with him 6 months before the wedding, tried samples (which were amazing), and discussed the details in depth. I gave him a sheet with the flavors I wanted, my contact info, guest numbers, and he said he would send me a sketch of the cake six weeks before the wedding. Three people came with me to the tasting, and all said it was 100% clear I wanted him to bake my cake. So, fast forward to eight weeks before the wedding, when I exchanged about a dozen emails and a phone call with him, because we had decided to change our cake from something extravagant, to a basic 2-tier frosted cake. Again, he said good to go. Now, two weeks before the wedding, I call to confirm and give him my credit card information, at which point, he says, well, you never signed a contract so I can't do your cake. He the lectured me about how he fills up months in advance. I was stunned, and hung up in shock. Let me first say that, from a business-minded person's point of view, this may be my fault for not double-checking that I had a contract with him. I only have contracts with two of my four vendors. The ones I do have contracts with sent me the contracts when I told them I wanted to use them. They communicated, and made sure things were good to go on both ends. Those that I don't have contracts with are people that I know in at least a marginally personal fashion, like Janusz. I feel that, in general with regards to vendors, if I decide to use your services, you need to tell me what I need to do to move the process forward. There is also the consideration that we're talking about a $500 cake here, not a $3,000 photographer. I feel that, with my connection to Janusz, I was entirely justified in believing that he had put me on the calendar. I don't have an axe to grind, and everything I experienced indicates that Janusz is a talented artist who makes delicious cakes. But after spending an hour speaking with him, shaking hands, and exchanging a dozen emails... because I didn't have a contract, all this meant nothing. I must also point out that, at no point, did Janusz ever ask me to sign a contract. I would happily have signed one in December, if he had asked. Even when, eight weeks before the wedding, I was discussing all the new details with him, he never once indicated that anything was awry. In sum, this review is not a reflection of Janusz's cakes, which are probably amazing.. but rather about my experience with how he treated me... in an impersonal fashion with a total lack of communication. So ladies, if you want to use Elegant Bakery for your wedding, your cake will probably taste and look amazing... but please be sure to immediately demand a contract, or you may end up with nothing. read more

I wanted a very special cake for my baby shower and had a picture of my "dream cake" - twin babies peeking out from under a hat box. I visited several bakeries around Denver who said they could not handle a fondant cake. My Mom (who lives out-of-town) found Elegant Bakery online. I brought Chef Janusz and his wife a picture and, when I arrived at my party to see the finished cake, it was over-the-top! Best bakery in Denver. Janusz did my wedding cake and it was absolutely stunning. He integrated my desire for contemporary and classic looking wedding cake. The way that he used the lace of my dress, the flowers in my bouquet, and all the other little details to make a cake that matched my entire wedding was amazing. And on top of that it is a cake that tastes just a delicious as it looks.
