Workers were nice and pleasant but I wasn't too happy with how the cake turned out compared to the reference photo. It looks messy pretty much everywhere and it doesn't look like much effort was put in since it was just sprinkle hearts and one layer of piping. The reference photo aka a photo from this exact yelp page had MUCH more going on as it had multiple piping layers, hand piped hearts, etc. Cake was good though as it wasn't overly sweet. I was very pleasantly surprised by Yours Truly Cupcake! My husband gifted me a random dozen assortment for my birthday. In the box were 3 of 4 different flavors: chocolate, Funfetti, s'mores, and cherry limeade. I really did not think I would like the cherry limeade, but it was actually very delicious! Went in person on a Saturday to order a Gender Reveal cake. Brayan was extremely helpful, took down all our requests and details, and gave us free cookies. He immediately followed up on Monday requesting any inspiration photos and provided us a quote a couple days later. The cake turned out amazing! And exactly as requested. I chose 4 regular sized cupcakes from the case ( they had red velvet, my husband's favorite) and a couple of seasonal flavors. I also got one of the mini cupcakes for my son to eat in the car, cuz when you're 2 it doesn't make a lot of sense to wait to eat cupcakes. Actually I'm not sure it does for me either.... Cute little cupcake shop. Highly recommend the chocolate and red velvet cupcakes; the cake was so moist and the cream was top notch. Also got the pomegranate cupcake and it was okay ; the cake was a little bland and the frosting was light but kinda boring. The rice crispy was great ; very buttery. The macarons was o m g amazing. I have ordered cupcakes from Yours Truly a few times for my team at work and they have been a huge hit each time! The weekly flavors that they have are always so special and unique. Most recently, we tried the butter beer, pumpkin spice latte, and pumpkin cream cheese! The cupcakes are the perfect size in my opinion. I'd always opt for the full size vs the minis! The order process is very simple and they are always ready on time. One of my orders was for a baby shower and they made blue frosting with glitter and small white pearls on them. It was such a nice touch! I saw on their website that they do delivery for a fee but I have only ever picked them up. I stopped by Yours Truly to pick up some Gluten Free cupcakes for my fiancé's birthday and I have to say they have some of the best cupcakes in town! I ordered myself a regular spice cake cupcake with cream cheese frosting and a variety of small mini GF cupcakes for my fiancé- the spice cream cheese, lemon, vanilla and chocolate. First off, the GF cupcakes were incredibly flavorful and moist, the frosting is rich and decadent and each of the flavor combanations were perfect. My fiancé was super happy! My spice cream cheese cupcake was truly to die for, honeslty it's one of thr best cupcakes I've ever had! The only downside is that they only currently offer GF cupcakes in the mini size, I would love a full size version in the future. Well that was disappointing. I hardly ever come to the city and today my appointment was less than 1/4 of the time it took me to drive there. I wanted to make the most of my trip so I yelped for a dessert place nearby and came across this cute cupcake shop. It's a window in the wall with a little table and two chairs outside, not much to it. It was $5 for 3 mini cupcakes, and I really like desserts so I got 6! I was so excited for them!! My choices were Bailey's, s'mores, whisky caramel apple, red velvet, pumpkin cream cheese and butter beer. What I tasted was sugar, sugar, cinnamon, cream cheese, pumpkin cream cheese and sugar. 1/6 gets a good review, and she was friendly, hence the 2 stars. And when your cupcake to frosting ratio is 3-1 it's a bit too much sugar and not enough flavour. I mean seriously, three were alcohols and I couldn't even tell the Baileys from the butter beer...the others I could only tell by sight but if I shut my eyes to taste them, there was only one obvious one. There's a back story.. we first discovered these cupcakes cause my friend Jill was staying at this hotel downtown and they had a box of Yours Truly cupcakes for us during her visit to Colorado and we both just loved it! Great experience all around! Recently closed some Cannabis business and wanted to send some cannabis "inspired" cupcakes to their team to celebrate. Because this was work related, didn't want to send actual cannabis/ CBD infused cupcakes but rather ones that had some kind of marijuana leaf design/ art. Made the call to Yours Truly Cupcake and asked if they could help. They suggested putting the pic of a marijuana leaf on sugar paper that sits on top of the cupcakes. At first I thought it was going to be a bit too simple for what I wanted, but when the client sent back pics of the cupcakes they were GORGEOUS. I was told the cupcakes were probably put up on about 25 people's Instagram from the office. After this review, I'll try to upload the pic for all. My friend and I ordered a box of macarons through Grubhub for another friend who just purchased a house. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We paid $7 extra and it was advertised as a satin bow with a personalized card. What she received was a ribbon that was not tied in a bow and a poorly hand written card on yellow paper. See pictures below of what was advertised on Instagram and was received. The macarons themselves were subpar. We ordered Nutella, chocolate, and mango. All were very stale. The mango shell was overly sweet. The chocolate ganache was not bad. I would not recommend this place. She listened when I said that our reception room might be a tight space if lots of folks showed up, so she suggested a vertical display for our mini cupcakes and logo cookies. I've driven by this place 100 times and never knew it was there it's an interesting set up it's a store but set up with just a window to order from. There's no display of items just a white board of what's on the menu. I myself am a visual person so it was hard to decide what to get, I went with mini cupcakes and should have gotten larger. Also the menu is vague like the Chocolate just says Chocolate. Sooo is that Choc in Choc or Choc and Vanilla? I wish they were a little more descriptive. They gave me 6 mini in a little paper bag 2 Funfetti, 2 Drunken Mocha and 2 Chocolate and when she handed me the bag I thought this will be messy. I tried one chocolate immediately and it was moist the frosting a bit soft and not enough of it but good. I debated going back and getting regular size and didn't. Well driving home of course the bag flew when someone slammed on the breaks and out flew 3 of my 6. I got to try the drunken mocha which was ok the frosting was too soft and gooey for me. Pros: -Most importantly: Delicious, moist, fluffy cupcakes with smooth buttercreams -Cute edible glitter/embellishments -Mini cupcakes allow you to try a lot of flavors if you want. The mini's also were not dry/tough like I've often found with mini versions -Lots of options for whatever you're in the mood for (cookies, macaroons, cake pops, vegan and GF offerings, etc., though I can't speak to those yet) -3.00 for a "standard" size cupcake is not bad at all. True I've had bigger cupcakes at other shops, but I also pay $4.50-5.50+ for them. I've seen some complaints in other reviews about the value of the 3 for $5 mini's....just get 2 for $6 standards. There something wholly less satisfying about a bite sized cupcake anyway, in my personal opinion. Cons: -Flavors weren't as strong as I would have liked. For most that I ordered, it seemed that the base white cake was the same and the flavor was concentrated in the frosting only. A couple that I tried tasted pretty similar. I would prefer less flavor options but a more powerful flavor punch throughout the cake -I would have preferred a little cardboard box of sorts to carry my treats, as opposed to a paper bag where they can all get smushed if you're not careful. However, I understand boxes are more expensive and probably reserved for larger orders. All in all, definitely give it a shot! 80% of the baked goods I've had in Denver are flat, grainy and dry (thanks, altitude!) so when I find a baker who actually knows/cares what they're doing, which this shop does, I give them a round of applause. read more
