Email thread of cake we wanted
Devona ..

I purchased a cake for an event one month in advance. I contacted the location on Colorado a week later to see if I would be able to email photos of what we wanted. After a couple emails stating they got the order and asked about color I immediately responded... never got a response. I physically took a hard copy photo to the location and they said they would attach to my PAID invoice. I attempted to confirm the cake decor two days prior again no response. The cake delivered was NOT the cake I requested (see photos) I called the Northglenn location and after about 30 minutes of back and forth to get this rectified Jeff states, "you're just not going to be happy" what?? Excuse me? I am the CUSTOMER who paid for the cake one month in advance and you send me a totally different cake?? I wasn't even offered a discount ... I paid around $115 for the cake and $40+ for delivery ... buyer beware ... there are other gigs in town not to mention the poor customer service on the initial call where the person who takes the orders sounded very bothered that she literally had to do her job!!

Confetti Birthday Cake

My daughter has always requested a confetti cake with confetti icing, since she was a toddler. I always make her a box cake and call it hood. This year she turned 40 l, so I decided to get a real cake from a bakery. I called at least 5 places, communicated by email with one place, and they all flaked on me. I was two days away from the party and did not have a cake. I called Cakes by Karen on Colorado Blvd. and they totally came through for me! I sent them a pic of what I had in mind and they said no problem, they would have it ready. I picked it up and it was beautiful. It was exactly what I had envisioned. It not only looked great it was delicious. This will fe my go to cane place from now on!!! Not to mention how sweet and kind everyone is!

Tie-dye digital birthday cake.

I ordered a 10" cake one day, picked it up the next and I was so pleased with the result. They went above and beyond my expectations. A 10" cake is very large, by the way, and it fed a crowd. I chose the digital cake for my friend's 50th birthday and she was wearing a tie-dye shirt as a 13-year-old in the picture. They decorated the cake's sides in tie-dye with sprinkles on top and around the base. It was amazing and incredibly fun, and I was so impressed. The cake was a delicious marble cake with mousse filling and buttercream frosting. It was a huge hit and we will order from Cakes by Karen again. We picked ours up at the Lakewood location and I did everything over the phone and via email, which was extremely convenient.

Adorable Blippi cake!

Great experience! Ordered a specialty cake over the phone. I was given their email to send in a picture of what I was thinking. I received a call about my flavor selections to make sure decorations looked the best (chocolate isn't the best with blue food coloring). Cake was ready at pickup and looked fantastic! It was the highlight of the party!

We love Cakes by Karen! We go here anytime we need a cake for a festive occasion, and we've never been disappointed. The cakes are delicious and the decorations have always exceeded our expectations. We just received a gorgeous cake for our daughter's birthday with little more direction than "a cake shaped like a giant cupcake with flowers and butterflies and lots of pink."

I had a cake made for my 2 nieces birthday party. I sent a picture of the cake I wanted, and my cake was PERFECT!!! The look and taste were amazing!!! Thank you so much for making our day!!

Couldn't be happier with the customer service and delivery! I ordered my best friend a birthday cake over the phone as I live in Florida and the man I spoke with was super helpful and the cake came out much more beautiful then i expected and she loved it! Thank you guys sooooo much

I ordered a cake for my daughters 6th birthday and told them I wanted a panda theme. I had no idea what to expect. The cake blew my expectations out of the water! It was so perfect! Panda face on the cake with bamboo detail around the outside. AND it was amazingly delicious and perfectly moist. I will be getting all of my cakes here in the future. Thank you for making my daughters birthday so special!

Alexandra M.

Gorgeous cake for a baby shower! I asked for a mountain theme cake and man did they deliver! And it was so delicious too!! Will definitely use them again for any special occasion cakes!

Leah R.

This cake was spot on! It was a 4 layer rainbow cake that was done exactly as requested at a comparable price. And the lady that helped us on the day of pickup was really nice. Everyone loved the cake!

German chocolate.. so good!!

Made me the prettiest and tastiest cake for my boyfriends birthday with only a 24 hour notice. The cake was delicious and I appreciate your efficiency! Tastes way better than anything you would buy at a grocery store and the presentation is 10/10. Definitely will be coming here for as long as I live in the area!!

The service here was wonderful! They were so unbelievably sweet! 10/10 ladies! I got a strawberry cheesecake Cronut (croissant/doughnut) and 2 of their La Roulette's (chocolate and raspberry) When I tell you these were packed with filling, dripping down our faces as we drove to the Rocky Mountains haha! We didn't care at all!! These were SO GOOD!! The crunch/texture is just outstanding! The fillings were to die for! There is a reason these guys went viral! Definitely check this place out!!

It's actually a great spot for a casual brunch or just grabbing a pastry and calling it a meal, which I fully support. The Eggs Benedict on a croissant stood out, and you can tell they take their baking seriously. Their "Queens" (their version of a kouign-amann) are especially worth trying. They also use high quality, locally sourced ingredients, and it shows in the flavor. Go for the cake, but definitely stay for more.

I had it saved but couldn't quite remember why...until we turned the corner and saw a line out the door around noon on a Sunday. Normally that might be a dealbreaker, but once we saw the food coming out, we were all in, it looked way too good to pass up. The menu is stacked: everything from sweet pastries to savory sandwiches and even pizzas on what looked like fresh, fluffy focaccia. I went with the prosciutto sandwich (prosciutto, cheese, pesto on focaccia), and it was incredible--simple, fresh, and packed with flavor. My girlfriend had the ham sandwich on a baguette, which was just as good. We were also tempted by the turkey and some seasonal options, so we'll definitely be back to try more. We couldn't leave without grabbing a couple pastries. The almond croissant was a hit (my girlfriend saved it for the next morning and loved it), and the standout for me was the cinnamon white chocolate cookie--kind of like a snickerdoodle but with white chocolate chips. Easily a top tier cookie. Between the quality, variety, and how clearly everything is made with care, this place jumped straight to the top of my list. Worth the wait, worth the hype, and absolutely worth a return trip.

I sure was one of them today as when I stepped in it was past 2pm. What I had in mind was (of course) all gone which forced me to go some alternative option. I hence ended up with one of the vanilla custard buns and the gouda baguettes. Did I regret? Nope, it is quite the opposite of it. The vanilla custard bun was simply the right size for me (I not too long ago had just had my late breakfast so I was still quite full from it.) Perfectly brown on some of the custard on top. This Portuguese style dessert is a staple at any bakery or dessert shop. It's moist and yet the flaky out layers made the perfect sound as I bit into it. As of this writing, I haven't had the baguette yet but I can only imagine how delicious it would be (as the kind lady upfront was telling other customer that.) For a great business like GetRight's, I do the drive to get to it from my southeast Denver home. It's my utmost duty to support them.

At one point, I seriously thought about flying back to NY to get the good baguettes. After a few years, I finally found one! I was there every Friday, but now, with a new job, it is just impossible to go. When I was going to a meeting in Denver, I searched for a bakery. I always look at photos of a baguette - the whole "figure" and how it looks when cut. I could find photos of the baguette, but none of the cross-section. So it was a gamble - I pre-paid for 2 baguettes. And I was not wrong! They were wonderful! Embarrassed to say, but I ate almost the whole baguette by myself! I froze the second one. Now I want this baguette all the time!! So here is the photo.

The fruits sandwich made with shokupan bread was light and fresh, an excellent pick-me-up. This is a standard Japanese snack done beautifully. The beef curry wrapped in dough, crusted in panko crumbs, and deep-fried was excellent. The curry itself had real flavor and zest, and the surrounding crust was delicious too. Not only a great accompaniment, but also a very cool way to eat curry with your bare hands. A very generous serving too. My brother got the most beautiful-looking chocolate croissant! Somewhat small on the inside with a cute bar, a variety of both high and low top seating, and a bakery case for quick ordering near the entrance. Their cocktails all look super good and will be back to try some. Our table ordered a variety of meals and some pastries to-go. We tried the hash, Benny, stuffed French toast, veggie omelet, sourdough baguette, macarons, croissants, and a pop tart. For the meals: - hash (corned beef is perfectly cooked and it's a nice sized portion with a runny poached egg on top and hollandaise over a crispy/well-seasoned Rösti - very good but a little on the heavy side for me) - benny (loved the flavors of this one and that duck confit was so flavorful and tender. Also, loved the bright, refreshing salad it comes with) - veggie omelet (I didn't try this one, but my brother in law said it was a great, traditional omelet - nice and cheesy) - stuffed French toast (WOWWWW - no notes. It was sublime. The passionfruit stuffing was to die for and it comes with a candied honeycomb. Not something I normally order, but we split it for the table and everyone wanted another one it was so good!) The sourdough baguette is perfect and has little flakes of sea salt on the crust.
